Clyde walked with her to the drinks station. Nothing out of the ordinary here. "Coffee sounds good. Though you are making this out to sound like a real story." he smirked in amusement and then looked at her snagging the cups first. is hand raised towards the cups and then fell he wasn't fast enough. "Black." He surveyed the room looking for anyone else in the area and then just shifted from foot to foot with nothing to occupancy his hands. He was becoming more an more curious about her first mission. "I'll go find us a seat." he took off and picked a table nearby that looked clean and plopped down.

"Well, it was quite the experience," she laughed, taking note of his coffee preference before moving off to fulfill it. She filled one mug with black coffee as requested before filling another for herself, adding a copious amount of milk and sugar to it. By the time she had stirred it all up, it seemed to be more dairy product and sweetener than coffee, but...apparently that's how she liked it.
Not entirely surprising coming from a young woman who was presently carrying around a plush bird.
Upon making her way to the seats Clyde had found, Eva slid his mug over to him before taking a seat. Settling her bird in her lap, she swung one leg over the other.
"So, first mission here. Mind you, I was a preeetty normal girl before I got dragged out here. Was in nursing school, but uh...dead bodies. Definitely didn't see as many there as I did on my first mission."

"Thank you." Clyde took his cup and examined it and then squinted at her drink. Did she call that coffee? Then again who was he to judge. He let it go and leaned back again. Besides she was cute with her bird, a breath of fresh air around here. "Oh wow that's impressive." he took a sip of the bitterness and let it swish around in his mouth.

"It definitely wasn't something I--or any of us, really--were used to," Eva continued, crinkling her nose, "The task was literally to move these corpses--and corpse bits--and it was one of the most horrifying things I had ever experienced. Even now I still consider it to be one of the worst." Probably second only to that time she had nearly had a brain-exploding bug dropped into her ear.
Still had the occasional nightmare about that one.
"I mean, I don't know where you're from or your life before Deus but...I'm going to guess that it didn't involve this kind of stuff." Eva took a sip of her excessively sweet "coffee" then, letting out a little sigh.

"I have to say that no, I've never cleaned dead human bodies before. That sounds awful." he had seen one but that was different from cleaning them up. "I take it we don't have to do that too often though." he was hoping it was a one time thing. Moving dead bodies was not high on his list of things he wanted to do. He was beginning to understand the sugared coffee.

"It was awful," she agreed sagely, only to let out a little laugh at his words. "And well, no, I've only done that particular task once in my life...but I did watch someone get a specific bug dropped into their ear that caused their head to explode, and then get held hostage with the same thing."
Eva took another sip of her drink. It was funny how easily she could speak about this when it, in fact, had been giving her nightmares for ages.
"Basically, as terrible as it is...just prepare for the worst here. It's definitely good if you make some friends among the hunters now so you'll have reliable people watching your back on the field." There was a short pause, and then she lifted her bird plush and cocked her head to the side.
"Sorry for this kind of morbid conversation. Did I make you uncomfortable? Do you want to hold Chirpy?"

Dead bodies were gross and not ok. But a bug making someone's head explode? Clyde was not sure if Eva was joking or not. His eyes widened as he stared at her a moment before he laughed. "Well I'm glad you are ok then." just deal with stress with laughter. It was easier. "I'm alright. Thank you for the offer though." he smiled at her, but it seemed like she needed Mr. Chirpy a lot more than him at this point. Things were crazy here, but Clyde knew he had signed up for this. Best to just try and prepare himself. "Alright I'll pick you as one of my friends and then make myself into a good hunter so you can rely on me too. Sound like a plan?" he raised his cup to her. Kaiyumi Sorry that took forever and a half.

She smiled when he laughed--it was pretty much the same thing she did when she felt uncomfortable, so she felt that she could understand why he was doing it. Eva was pretty sure that he didn't actually find any humour in bugs exploding heads, though even if anyone did find it amusing, they probably wouldn't if they were to ever witness it for themselves.
...Which wasn't exactly unlikely in a place like Deus Ex.
She gave her plush a squeeze when her offered was gently turned down, and then reached out to seize her cup. "Most definitely! Here's to a new friendship then!" Eva raised her cup in turn, and then drained what she had left of her coffee. At the end, she closed one eye and peered into her cup.
"Huh, so that's where all my sugar went." She turned the cup to show the tablespoon's worth that had settled at the bottom.phantompanther13 adsfkjaslf don't worry about it!
