She laughed out loud when he mentioned his mother being tired of outgrowing her favorite clothes. It was one of the downsides of being pregnant. "Yes, I'm sure that will be one of her favorite things after she has the baby. Being able to wear all of her old clothing. I know it was something that I was especially happy to be able to do. That and being able to eat whatever I want without fear of getting sick from it."
She shrugged when he asked her if she got as good as walking through the trees as the shifters did. "I got way better as time went by, and before I left I was pretty fast, but I don't think I was as good as the shifters. Both of my daughters were better then I was. But they were born in the forests, so it made sense. I know one of them once told me that she could 'talk to the trees', and that was why she was so fast." Ikuri had sworn she could hear the trees and insisted it was why she never fell from them. Zuri was never sure if she was messing around or not, but it sure seemed like she was telling the truth.
"Oh it's everything. You get to see the different styles of clothing as well as the different wares. And while some are more busy and friendly others keep to themselves and those that are selling things."
She smiled at him. She had been to many places, though not always for pleasure. Many places were because of war. "I'm sure if you put your mind to it you will travel to all the places I've been and more."

Chimelu couldn't help but nod in agreement. Overall, his mother hadn't been too sick throughout her pregnancy but at the start of it she had spent quite a bit of time in bed. "She hasn't been too sick, but she does enjoy eating lots of food." He blushed, hoping she didn't take that statement the wrong way. His mother was slender and fit, when not pregnant, but she certainly put most people to shame in the amount of food she consumed.
"That sounds really extraordinary!" He admitted with a grin. He really hoped he would be able to glide through the trees as easily as Zuri or her daughters had been. "Really?" Chimelu asked with surprise. There was a lot in the world that Chimelu didn't understand but he'd never heard of someone talking to trees before. It's also probably due to living in Sauti where there are considerably less trees. "I wonder how she did it." He added.
"Do they get a lot of. . . " He paused, searching for the right word to use. "Travelers?" That seemed like a good word to use. He had heard rumors of some towns in various locations being less accepting of travelers, but he hoped it would be different there. Not that he was going to let that stop him.
Chimelu smiled and nodded. "I hope so." If he could go to at least one of the places she had been he would be extremely happy. "Do you have any other advice? Maybe ideas on what to bring?" He genuinely wanted to know.

She smiled. "That's good then! Most women get very sick, I was one of those women, you're mother is a very lucky woman." Oh what she wouldn't have done at the time to be sick all day. She spent so much time with a bucket besides her that it was almost strange not to see it everywhere after she gave birth. "Oh yea? I like food, but there were so many that I either wanted more then I normally did or even some that I normally loved and hated while pregnant. Bodies are so strange."
She nodded. "So do I. I've heard that Alkidikes can speak to all trees like they do their Goddess Aisha, but Ikuri was the only earthling I've ever known to say she could talk to trees."
She tilted her head from side to side as she thought, finally looking straight back at him. "Honestly some places do and some don't. It becomes obvious right away, either people are welcoming or not. Very rarely are they cruel though or mean, normally if they aren't use to travelers they just give dirty looks and keep away."
"Most things can be bought everywhere, so don't worry too much about what you bring. As long as you have enough food and water to last a few days and a tent of some sort you are normally good. You have to carry everything you bring, so sometimes less is more."
