She snorted. "I don't like them either, but it did show me that not all of them are home wreckers.." Phaedra sighed and turned her head to look at the market. This man said that the Obans had taken his wife but at least he got her back. Then again, Phae supposed it helped that his wife wanted to return.

"I guess they think I am more powerful than I am." She commented lightly before she lifted her gaze toward him. "Might help if I had some actual training. I could defend myself.. unlike last time." Last time she had had to run and be innovative. Not that it had helped much. She still came out worse than any of them. The young leaf girl reached up and pushed her bangs out of her eyes. "I'm supposed to be training to be a lancer but so far no one around here wants to teach me."

There was a vague shaking of her head. Phaedra knew some basics. After all one needed to at least know how to hold their weapon. Possibly even swing it around. But as far as being any good with it.. She had nothing. Her green eyes blinked several times as the man got up and started to walk away. If she hadn't seen the small motion telling her to follow she might have thought he was simply leaving.

Scrambling to her feet Phaedra half jogged after the shifter so that she could keep up. "U-uh, it's not their fault. I mean.. I'm sure if they weren't upset they would train me." Why she felt the need to defend the others was beyond her grasp. Instead she tried to gain a bit of insight into what the man was thinking. "You use a trident?"

She supposed he had a point there. Leaving her without training would likely get her killed. The brunette reached up and rubbed the back of her neck. Why hadn't she thought of that? Likely because she was too busy wallowing in her own guilt to think that everyone else was being mean. The thought caused her to feel embarrassed. "I think I'd like to use a Trident rather than a lance." There was a small nod of her head to affirm this.

"Would.. uhm.. would you mind being my teacher?" If this man could help her learn more about her weapon and how to fight then it would be helpful. Though she did keep in mind that he wasn't overly fond of being around people. "I'm not sure how long it would take to find someone willing..."

She hadn't noticed her own trident getting stuck on things, but then again when she had it with her she didn't really do anything with it. When she heard Ray say that he could make the trip every few days to teach her she lit up with a bright smile. "That would be great." Of course now she wondered if he wanted anything in return. A payment of sorts. "How much will it cost me? I am good at cooking and I can catch small animals to sell.." Phae quieted down when she thought about the villagers. They didn't like dealing with her so she wouldn't be able to sell anything. Perhaps her father could?

As he started to look around for something she listened. Something to practice with. Well at least he didn't expect her to use something deadly right away. Her green eyes went searching right away to aid in locating something worth of being used.

Well that was something. Phaedra smiled at Rayolun before she nodded her head. No payment then. Of course she would be eternally grateful to the man for being her teacher. When he went into the tree to get a branch she waited, watching him as he moved. Phae was curious about what he was doing. Then as he came back down she understood. There had been no branch suitable on the ground so he'd gone up.

She took it from him and gave it a small swing to see how it weighed in her hands. Satisfied she looked at the shifter and grinned. "Thanks." Now, to show him what she had! Let the training begin!
