"Dr. H?" Arorangi repeated, the name unfamiliar to him. He gave a wheezing gasp as the spear smacked across his torso and stumbled to the side. For a small guy, Leslie certainly hit hard.
"You have a lot of experience, do you not?" he said with a laugh, jabbing at the other's shoulders.

"Old dude. Heads up Life division. I've never really met him, just heard like, third party and s**t." Leslie grinned at the other guy staggering. Part of Deus' appeal was definitely that he could be as strong as anyone else, size be damned. The returning blow was a hard one, sending leslie skittering back against the turf. "Yeah, I guess. Not as much as some. I'm not getting promoted any time soon or anything like that." hp 22 dmg 3 [ -4 instead of -6, 1 turn remains ] charge 2/3, ey2 used, chl3 remains

"I have not met any of the other division leaders," said Arorangi thoughtfully, even as he winced at Leslie's scrape across his torso. "I only met the Mist leader at the meeting, but I have not seen the others yet. I have been warned against, ah...what was his name...Caelius? though?"
He laughed and swung the spear in a wide arc towards the other.
"Still, you seem very capable," said Arorangi cheerfully. "It has been very good to spar with you so far!"

"Never met him either, but apparently," Leslie muttered, rolling his eyes, "he's thrown people outta windows. Not sure how much I believe that, but there you go. Weirder s**t has happened, I guess." Arorangi looked relatively aghast at this pronouncement. He clicked his tongue disapprovingly.
"Throwing people out of windows is not necessarily the best way to get someone to work for you," he said, a twist of his lips indicating a slight smile. "But you are right, I have seen weirder things happen. I have learned, really, that nothing here is surprising anymore."
He beamed at the compliment and staggered back at the same time, Leslie's club catching him hard across the chest.
"Hearing that from someone above me is very encouraging," said Arorangi brightly and twisted behind Leslie, cracking the spear across his shoulder blades.

"Yeah, well," Leslie muttered, wincing from Arorangi's latest swipe, "that's Death division for you. A bunch of ******** shady spies anyway." Leslie lunged back at the other hunter, Aleria baying for a charge that he wouldn't loose. hp 14 dmg 4 charge 3/3, chl3 remains

He was growing tired, Arorangi grasping the staff a bit looser than he would have normally because his arms were aching with the effort of continuing in their little spar. Still...
"Makes me glad I am not in Death!" he said cheerfully, and smacked one last crack against Leslie's shins.

Leslie's attention slipped as Arorangi stilled, watching with, perhaps, a curious sort of intrigue and then-- Missed. "You and me both," Leslie agreed, stepping backwards to get his stinging knees out of hitting range. hp 12 dmg omg charge 3/3, chl3 remains

Maybe he had strength in him for one more hit after all....
Arorangi's fingers tightened around the spear, and with one hard, fast lunge, he slammed it up against Leslie's chest.

Not so ******** fast.Leslie snapped out of his daze, snarling at himself more than anyone. He dealt a finishing blow, perhaps a little too hard, the vibration of the impact traveling up his arms. hp 10 dmg omFG 13 charge 3/3, chl3 remains
