brightsword0 An idea for a campaign I had was something akin to Monster Hunter. My idea was would be that the players would take on roles of hunter that would go out and fend off various large monsters that pose a threat to various villages. One of the problems with that would be it would more or less boil down to a string of boss fights against various monsters and would probably end up being a much higher level campaign than we usually run. Oddly enough, that was my idea for the standard fantasy campaign. There would be a few low-level adventures, then all of a sudden, PLOT. Then lots of boss battles. The Solar system traveller one would also probably involve a fair few boss battles, as bounty hunters would be likely to take on some jobs other than capture/kill the outlaw. Also, again, the space opera one can easily accomodate virtually anything.

So, it looks like we'll be doing the space opera one then. Does anyone have a copy of the D20 future and/or D20 modern rulebooks? I own both in both physical and pdf format so I can help you out with anything if need be. I'm away from my pc right now so I can't help just yet, but we'll sort something out.
What does everyone want from this campaign? At some point, you will be in charge of a starship and explore the galaxy, but how would you like to begin? As crew of a starship you don't own or planetside?

As long as I get to be a space elf, I don't care! ^w^

There isn't an explicit "space elf" race as such, but there is either the Fraal, which is the stereotypical "Grey" alien which has much higher mental stats and much weaker physical stats than the other races or, alternatively, I could just convert an elf into something that would be usable in D20 Future. It shouldn't be too hard to do that.

In my opinion, the elf race in Urban Arcana source book should work just fine in a sci-fi setting. Just probably ignore any magic related effects or simply replace magic with psionic powers.

Actually, it needs no conversion at all, since everything in it could be done via other effects anyway since the original wording says spells or effects. So, basically, immune to anything that would forcefully put you to sleep and +2 resistance to mind control. The only thing I'll remove is the bonus languages section, since all the xeno races in D20 Future lack them.
Species Traits Size: Medium. Elves have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size. Ability Modifiers: +2 Dexterity, –2 Constitution. Base Speed: 30 feet. Low-Light Vision: Elves can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. They retain the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions. Spell Immunities: Elves are immune to sleep spells and effects, and they gain a +2 species bonus on saves against Enchantment spells or effects. Skill Bonuses: Elves gain a +2 species bonus on Listen, Search, and Spot checks. An elf who merely passes within 5 feet of a secret or concealed door is entitled to a Search check to notice it as if she were actively looking for the door. Bonus Feat: Elves gain the bonus feat Archaic Weapons Proficiency. Free Language Skills: Read/Write Common (or local language), Read/Write Elven, Speak Common (or local language), Speak Elven.

Unless you want space variants of them too.

I might do that anyway, but still no bonus languages, since no other race gets them.

XD An Ewok soldier would be funny. Or an Ewok dreadnaught, using one of the advanced classes in this, would be even better.
A dreadnaught is basically a tank, to use an MMO term.
I wouldn't know how to convert an Ewok to D20 modern if I'm honest, though if anyone can find me D20 stats for one, it would likely be easy to convert from there.
The main races in the setting are as follows:
Aleerin - looks human, but grey and slightly Tron-like. Can interface with computers.
Dralasite - gooey people that can grow and lose limbs at will.
Fraal - Stereotypical "grey" alien. The most advanced alien in the setting.
Sesheyan - Winged humanoids that look like gargoyles. Just barely out of the stone age. (NPC)
T'sa - Small, reptillian creatures that are nimble and charming.
Vrusk - Basically, giant ant-centaur business-aliens.
Weren - Massive, hairy warrior-philosophers with a +1 level adjustment (NPC)
Yazirian - Violent beserkers with a hair-trigger temper. Have the ranger favoured enemy ability and the barbarian's rage ability as racial features.
And, of course, humans who are in part (along with the fraal) responsible for the FTL in the setting.

I suppose if you want, you could play as a robot, though they have a potentially weird progression.

I have no idea what I want to do here.... Though those Aleerin sound interesting, how do they meld specifically? Like by touch or are they partially liquidious?

Basically, they have wires and circuits running alongside their veins and a brain that is part computer. They extend little wire/cables from their fingertips and interface in a way similar to using a USB or something. They then control the computer with their thoughts. Mechanically, they do tasks MUCH faster by interfacing, but cannot do anything else while linked and increase the computer use DC by 5 as they "trade caution for expedience". They also have a racial +2 in computer use and can use a computer normally if they choose to do so.

Hmmm, I'm tossling between the T'sa and the Yazirian... Nimble and charming rogue? Or wicked barbarian?
