Saraf attempts to hit Nuri.
Saraf needs: 10 + 4 = 14 to HIT Nuri
Saraf's attack: 1 + 9 = 10, misses and hits himself. (*facepalm*)
Saraf's Dmg: (14 + 9 )/2 = 11.5/4 = 2.9 dmg
As the whip came toward him again Saraf was unable to dodge it, not because he wouldn't have tried by because it had come at him toward his 'weak' side. He realized too late that it was coming at him and he attempted a dodge... which didn't turn out well. He was no only hit by the whip but stumbled a bit as well. The moment he recovered he lifted his arm to rub the heel of his hand against his eye before taking up a stance again. It was silly, that he still rubbed at his eye as though it would help somehow, yet he did it anyway. There were days he thought it would have been better if he lost it completely instead of things on that side being more of a blur.
A thought he kept to himself, not wanting people to know too much about the weakness since it might impede him. Trying not to think about that he fell into a stance, raised his weapons, and motioned for Nuri to come at him again.

Nuri was surprised when that attack went through, his eyes snapping over Saraf for a long moment in confusion. He didn't let the confusion cross his face, but he wasn't sure how that one got away. Maybe it was luck, and the fact that his whip did have a bit of speed and distance over Saraf's blades.
Pulling back, he took a second to catch his breath in the standoff, before he took Saraf's bait and went at him once again.

As Nuri once more came after him Saraf slid himself to one side, getting Nuri onto the side that he saw more clearly from. He gave a bit of a smile as he looked at his sparring partner before he took a few more swings at him. Saraf could feel his breathing getting a little heavier, his heart beating a little faster, and felt a bit excited. There really was nothing better then a good battle to get ones blood pumping he thought to himself as the 'dance' with Nuri continued.

Nuri shook himself out as he took another hit, his muscles aching from the strain of his hits and being hit. He moved as quickly as he could to keep the flow going, knowing that he he slowed down it would disrupt the rhythm they had. He continued to work to snap as much as Saraf did, unwilling to relent.

Another blow from the whip caused Saraf to stumble a step. Once he recovered he stood in place for a moment, shifted, then seemed to take a tally of things. He could tell that his body was getting tired, could tell that he wasn't going to be able to keep going for too much longer. It had been a good fight though, one that told him exactly what it was that he would need to work on. Stamina training, he needed a lot more of that he decided.
Shifting once more he lifted his weapons then gave a smile, "Alright, once more, Nuri." He was sure he could at least last one more round he thought to himself, lunging forward to take a couple more swings at his sparring partner.

Nuri charges at Saraf and attempt to hit him, sending his whip out again in a last flurry as they begin the final phase of the deadly dance they just started. His limbs are aching, and his lungs are starting to burn, but he still pushes through out of respect for his peer.

Seeing an opening when Nuri's next attack failed to hit him Saraf shifted his stance and then rushed toward him, pushing off the ground with a powerful jump, and brought his two sword down in sync toward his sparring partner. He was running out of steam but he was still going to try his best to do what he could with the energy he had remain.

Nuri knew a misstep when he made one, and this was a major misstep. He felt the flat of the blades hit him hard and he moved backward from the momentum. It was the hardest hit by far, and he was feeling winded from the strike.
In an effort to push away further, he sent a snap out at Saraf like he would Naraka, catching his balance in the meantime and not minding if he hit or not. This was it, the final stand.

Saraf gave paused for a moment after his grand attack, working on catching his breath. He was quite exhausted at this point, but it was good to see that Nuri was as well. The two of them seemed to be on pretty equal footing, a good sign since they were training together. The closer they were in skill the more that they would push each other ever forward toward greater heights.
Once he'd caught his breath, or at least enough of it that he could act again, he went at Nuri again, swining the flats of his swords once more toward his sparring partner.

Nuri used his last bit of energy to move out of the way, pushing with his legs and feeling the strain. He lashed out again toward Saraf, his breath huffing and his body covered in a layer of sweat as he did all he could to keep up the speed and keep up the attacks. His arms screamed for him to stop, his body demanded he rest and get something to drink. His mind, however, continued to push him on, and he would listen.

Nuri's final attack seemed to be more then enough for Saraf. He was covered in sweat now, his good eye stinging from it, his various bumps, bruises, and whip marks were stinging like crazy, and he was only too happy to be done with the match. Lifting a sword to get Nuri's attention he said, "Hold!"
Flipping his swords around he sheathed them at his sides before plopping down on the ground, "Phew, I don't know about you but I'm spent." He told his friend and sparring partner before asking, "Since you get the victory can you be a gracious sort of winner and grab us some drinks?" He asked, hopeful that he wouldn't have to get up and could just sit down for a while after that long, hard fought match.

Nuri too let his arms drop, and as the rush of the battle calmed, his muscles began to ache even more. He let out a laugh, shaking his sweat soaked hair and looking around to the grounds they had moved through. The dust and dirt was unsettled, showing a flurry of movement.
Yes, they had accomplished much today.
As Saraf went to the ground, Nuri let his whip fall and settled as well, stretching his arms and rolling them to break through the bruising.
"I can only imagine how I will feel tomorrow," He joked back, shaking his head, before laughing again at Saraf's jest, "Yes, give me a moment to catch my breath, and I'll get us something to drink. Maybe we can walk it off and go get some harder stuff to numb the ache as well."
And after a long moment, he did just as he promised and got up to fetch some waters and try not to look too worn from the scuffle.
