Goodness! She hadn't expected him to lift her up - maybe help her stand, escort her even, but pick her up ? Flushing in embarrassment at her helplessness, Padma willed herself to calm down, and not take it personally. He was only trying to help, after all! That didn't mean she wasn't relieved once she was set down, however. Her eyes still pinched shut, Padma slowly lowered her hand and reached for the stream, dipping her fingers in the water. It wasn't her first instinct to rush to running water, or else she would have been dipping in it before ... her father had told her enough stories about nasties that could be caught that way.
But at this point, the risk of her eyes stinging was enough to coax her to it.
So far, she hadn't felt the stinging spread, but she still was thankful for the cool water being dabbed at her face while she washed her hands, as best she could.
"Thank you - s-sorry, it's just this stupid thing dad grows..." She grumbled unhappily, keeping her eyes closed but unscrunching her face so he could wipe at them properly. "Obsessed with Jauhar plants - but it's like they all just... just want to kill you!"

"That sounds about right," Dezani chuckled, glad that the younger girl was going to be okay. He would have hated if something had happened to her while he was around. "Most everything from Jauhar seems like it's deadly in one way or another. I've never really been there myself, but I've heard some stories." "Really I am glad that no damage will be done. You had me worried for a moment," he explained, keeping an eye on her just in case some other plant decided to attack her in some form or fashion.

Dabbing at her face, Padma allowed herself to crack a small smile, amused despite herself, given the situation. Finally, she cracked open an eye, and was relieved to find none of the stinging had spread, and even now her hands were soothed, somewhat, by the cool water.
Rubbing her hands carefully on the hem of her skirt, Padma finally looked back up at her companion. "Well - as much as I'd like to travel, I don't think I could handle more than just a garden of those plants, myself." She admitted, lowering her voice as if telling a secret. Somehow, she felt relieved to know he hadn't been quite that far before, out of her own jealousy.

"That is perfectly fine. Traveling isn't really for everyone. For the longest time I didn't think it was for me either. I hated doing what my father asked me to do because it meant traveling around and staying away from home," Dezani explained, shaking his head at days past. "If you ever needed advice or help for traveling I would be happy to help. If you wanted to travel at any point in time. You'd be surprised at how much fun it can be once you get out and do it." Advice on traveling? It was... horribly tempting. Gnawing on the edge of her lip, Padma considered her options as she finished wiping down her damp hands. Gingerly, she stood again, shooting a hasty look back towards the town, where she was sure her father would be waiting for her, impatient over how long she was taking.
And yet, how often did she get a chance to really talk to people about this? Especially someone just about her age who was willing to take her seriously? "Actually..." She started, making up her mind and turning her back to the village, giving him her full attention. "Actually, that sounds wonderful! How do you start? How do you travel if you don't know where to go? What do you prepare for the road? How..." [9/10! The last posts can just be general blurbs of them talking for a while, if that's ok with you?? ovo]

Dezani was pleased to share his knowledge with the younger girl late into the day, hoping that in some small way he was helping her out. He just hoped he didn't overwhelm her with any of the information. He talked about everything from how to set up camp to hunting for food. Anything he knew he was sure to write down for her as well. "Sorry if I've overwhelmed you with all this." Scarlett Arbuckle sorry just sorta put whatever popped into my head. big fail XD

OpticPeach Nooo, you're great! Thank you so much ! ;-; I really appreciate it. Total time since rp started was 1 year and 2 months XD omg
Now, she just had to work up the courage to actually leave home and strike out on her own. "No! No, thank you - that's... a lot to soak in, but just what I needed." Realizing how late it had gotten, Padma pushed herself to her feet, brushing the spongy dirt off her still tingling hands. "I've taken a lot of your time, but! I hope to see you again sometime soon." She smiled as she fetched her bag, turning to give a little wave to the beautiful kinfa who had started the whole conversation. "You and Raiha both!"
