La Llorona sighed when the filly took a deep breath and scrambled backwards. Pushing wet locks of hair out of her face her eyes narrowed and she glared death at the filly, but instead just watched.

"Good," she snarled. "Tell the town, tell all the foals, what will happen to them when they disobey their parents. It's dangerous to trust strangers."

With that she turned and flipped her tail behind her letting a spray of water splash onto the ground as she left.

Fear radiated through the tiny phony as the other spoke, body trembling violently. She couldn't speak, nor think. She just watched the lips of the green phony move, only barely registering them before, with a frightened yelp, she scrambled away. She ran, running to her home and desperately panting the entire way. She ignored the concerned comments of adults who spotted the wet phony, instead focusing on the image of her bed. Her bed, her home, her parents, her family. Anywhere but that place. That nightmarish forest that would forever say etched in her brain, wiggling into her dreams and changing them rapidly into nightmares.

The second she ran into her home she brushed past alarmed parents, stumbling into her room and crawling under her covers. Her chest heaved and, with a soft whimper announcing the beginning of her tears, she burst into sobs.

Never again would she go in the forest. She'd be a good girl now. She promised.
