The insult he'd given her was enough to make Phaedra step up to the water earthling and lift her hand. If he didn't stop it she'd slap him full on. The brunette hated the Obans and to be grouped together with them.. No. With a shake of her head she finally narrowed her eyes at him. "And you are no better than my whore mother that ran off with the enemy that was attacking and killing her people. Led by lust." She eyed him disgustedly. What was going on with the Alkidike's wasn't her business. She hadn't ordered it and had already said she had no qualm with hybrids. "I wonder if your stupid Amazon just stood there are others attacked her. Or did she make the first move?" Glaring at Virain she watched him leave to go help the pair.

"At least your mother had the decency to abandon you! You aren't worth the air you breath!" He shot back over his shoulder, steps hurried. There was a scream of pain and all he could see was red. Red as it spilled over the ground, as it arched up in the air. The hybrid jerked back, one hand trying desperately to staunch the blood that flowed like water over her fingers. She gurgled and dropped to her knees, choking, yet still trying to help her mother.
The older Alkidike thrashed harder, but from the amount of blood that lay pooled under her, and how splattered her attacker was, she didn't have much strength left.
He rammed his shoulder into the earthlings side, sending them sprawling. The blade clattered to the ground, sliding just out of reach. The elder Alkidike struggled to sit up, wounds superficial but there were multiple of them. She favored one arm that to Virain's semi-trained eye seemed broken. "Tahahila, Tahahila!" She cried, trying to get to her daughter. The hybrid had slumped over, hand fallen from her neck.
He knew, without having to look at her twice, that she had died.

His words hit a nerve. Not only because they were hateful but also because Phaedra had always wondered why her mother had left her but took her sisters. So for a moment she watched him, fists balled at her sides. Then she seemed to snap. The knife that had been out of reach for the earthling was soon accosted by her and held to Virain. This alkidike that has you wrapped around her finger. What is her name?"

The touch of warmed metal to his neck stopped him cold, one hand supporting the Alkidike as she crumpled with grief. Her sobs tore at him, how could someone who grieved so, be considered evil? He turned his head so that he could look at her from the corner of his eye, noting how the knife stayed in contact with his skin the entire time.
"Why should I tell you? Do you think me so weak as to cave to your demands?" He spat, eyes narrowing in anger. "Jokes on you, if anyone here is weak, it's you. You're a weak minded bigot who thinks herself superior to everyone else. An Elitist fool who would happily dance on the graves, on the backs of a fallen tribe if so given the chance." He shook his head, uncaring that the knife drew blood with the motion.
"Go back to your empty, cold home. With an attitude like yours, it would be a wonder if anyone found you decent enough to love."
The crowd had grown thicker during the time frame, but they remained silent for the time being. The unrest was palatable but it was clear that it was now a series of mixed emotions that stilled their hands. There had already been one death today, that of an Innocent. Would there be a second?

"I don't need love. It's an illusion." She pressed the knife a bit more into his neck. Phaedra was't sure what she was going to do with it. She'd never been the violent type. "The fact that you won't say her name means you don't love her. You question her now.." She shook her head and moved the knife just a little bit. "I don't think I am superior to any. I merely don't want to become inferior like your tribe once was. You were all so pathetic that you needed the whole of Tendaji to free you. And now you are letting another tribe guide your hearts." The brunette gave a scoff and pulled the knife away then tossed it to the ground. The blood that had been on it was now smeared onto Virain's neck. "Give my regards to your murderous amazon." Phae needed to walk away. She was becoming too emotional and even hateful. It wasn't like her and she didn't like it.

"Love is a strength. It is a force of Will and often a well of hope." He retorted, barely keeping the flinch of pain from showing as she pressed the knife deeper into his neck. "The fact that you can't recognize this says much about you."
He ignored the barb about his tribe being weak, knowing that to point out that they'd been slaves for five hundred years. Being broken so very badly for so very long wasn't good for things like moral and rebellions. "It sounds to me, like you're letting another tribe guide yours as well." He said softly, stroking the elder Alkidikes hair once Phaedra tossed aside the knife and walked away.
"I wont tell you her name, because you don't deserve to hear it. "

Love was a weakness. It gave someone the power to destroy you. She'd seen it first hand. Her father was a mess because of her mother and the love they'd had. The fact that this boy put so much faith in an emotion meant he was weak but he would learn. She was sure of it. Phaedra paused for only a moment before she spoke. "Even if I don't deserve to hear it.. you are keeping the name of the woman you love off your tongue and away from others. Are you ashamed of her? Do you wish she was something else? Or could it be she doesn't exist?" Phae had thought about attacking but it would do nothing. This had turned into a petty dispute between this water earthling and herself. "If she does exist she's likely whoring it up with others just like you so she can manipulate them." she sneered a bit. "Why didn't she stay with you? Were you no worthy? Not woman enough for her?" The leafling continued on then and left a trail of hate in her wake.

He couldn't help the chuckle that bubbled from his lips as he stood and turned towards her. "At least I'm more woman then you are." He said, calmly. All that anger, the rage, the budding hatred for this girl-child just...vanished. Gone like a puff of smoke against a breath of breeze. She was jealous. Jealous of an emotion that she was incapable of feeling. Or perhaps she had had her heart crushed by someone who had betrayed her. Either way he no longer had the will to indulge in her hate spitting arguments.
He would be the bigger man and let it all go.
"I assure you she is real, more real than all your flimsy excuses and reasonings. I trust her, I adore her, and I will stand by her side no matter what happens between us." He called after her, knowing that it was true. He never put a name to the emotion he felt for V'demhe before, having nothing to compair it to. But he knew, when this terrible event had all started, just what it was. He knew that he would tell all of this to her when he saw her next, and if she didn't feel the same, then he would deal with it when it happened.
Not before and he would most definitely not allow some stranger to try and force him to second guess himself and his convictions.
