"So you can only tame them while young?" Mused Talisia as she watched the creatures moving around them, "They are beautiful though. I think it's best to see them wild and free like that." Even though the thought of one made her flush lightly. What am I an animal hoarder? It really was true though she was missing all of the animals that she had once tended to.
"From your village?" The hybrid's gaze widened, "Do you really think it would be that simple to trace his roots?" She flushed lightly, "I can't believe that I would ever be that lucky. But then again you are right I did find you already." Still she knew so little of shifters and their lives. Her father barely told her much save for his own travels through the lands.
Seeing the stares made her pull in closer to herself, but at the question of climbing Talisia tilted her head. Could she climb? "I believe so...what am I - oh." She looked up around the trees in realization. Not everyone lives on the ground it seems.

Sabra Knight Got back from ER, so shitty tag "It makes it easier." Free or kept, Dris'rynne just didn't want them close to her families nest. The young woman had her hands full just trying to protect them now without the added worries of stalking packs hanging around.
Dris'rynne tied the cart to the large tree trunk with a length of sturdy rope. "I doubt you'll find anything directly related to him here, but it's as good a start as any. At the very least someone might be able to point you towards a relative." Jauhar wasn't so big once you got a handle on the gossip chains. Still, it would be harder for a new comer to feel that same sense of purpose and confidence. Dris'rynne looked over to Talisia and gave her a small smile. "I wouldn't worry over it; sooner or later something is bound to turn up."
A few steps towards the side of the tree brought her near a knotted length of vine. It was well worn, but Dris'rynne had little trouble manipulating it to do her bidding. She grasped one of the knots, wrapped the vine around her wrist and began her ascension. After a few feet she stopped to balance herself out on a branch. Although she would have been barely visible at this point, the vine ladder she had kicked down wouldn't be so hidden. "Try this for size. If you have issues after that I'll drop down a sling."

At her words Talisia nodded slowly, "We'll see if you're right." All she could do was hope that somehow there would be someone out here that knew about her father. She just needed to find some faint trace, some memories and her heart would be satisfied. It was strange though going into a strange world that had once been so familiar to her dear father. How different would it be to have come with him instead of by herself. Talisia could only wonder about the possibility.
Biting her lip Talisia watched as Dris easily scaled up the vine. I'm supposed to be able to do that? Sure she was nimble and surprisingly had some strength of her own, but she doubted that would be easy. It was a blessing to see the ladder dropped down instead, "I think I can handle this one." Gripping the vines with all she had the girl began to slowly climb her way up.
Just don't look down and it will be okay.

Sabra Knight Relatively. Not so much though. Dris'rynne positioned her wide hips around the thick branch and clenched her thighs against the bark. She held onto the ladder just in case it wasn't secure, but the further Talisia climbed the more lax her grip became.
She looked up over her shoulder to the already hanging ladders above her. Normally she just used the rope, but this time she would use the ladders just to make sure they were sturdy enough. They might have held up well for a couple of children, but the extra weight might cause the already worn vines to fray.
"The sooner you get up here, the sooner you get to see those beasties." Dris had to smirk; this girl really had no idea what she was getting into with them. She stood and moved on to keep up with her own climbing.

Surely she doesn't think I'm a child. Talisia just rolled her eyes lightly at the motivational teasing that Dris'rynne had just given her. She would see the beasts soon enough. Right now she just wanted to focus on not dropping to her death on the ground below.
From ice lands, to flat lands, to deserts, and now to climbing trees...what sort of life had her father lived? Being a gypsy must have taken a lot more work and effort than she ever realized. Before she had always imagined them being carefree and relaxed, but in truth it looked like they worked and struggled harder than most.
I'm no gypsy, but let's see how well I can adapt to this life.
Surely it was possible. After all Jauhar was in her blood as well as Zena had been. She just needed some time. Swinging her feet over the vines Talisia managed to pull her body onto the branch, "Alright." She blinked up towards Dris, "Let's do this."

It was just like teaching a child.
Dris'rynne had enough experience with younger sisters to understand what one needed to push them to the next level. Granted, her sisters had been climbers their entire lives, but they were still frightened now and again. "Take it slow and easy."
It was a long climb; one that went straight up to the canopies themselves where a series of nest were built along the thicker branches. A few trees away from her own resided her grandparents, who hid themselves away in a full structure. The weight alone made the tree bend to one side. Dris'rynne's home was much less boxed in; it had a rough, yes, but only two walls with the last opening to the great jungles. There were multiple levels to correspond with the tree itself and it was the lowest that she moved in on.
Almost as soon as her feet touched the smooth wooden floor two distinct sets of feet moved around on the upper levels. It's on now. She grinned.

Talisia was in awe of everything that she saw. Her father had told her stories before, but it was another thing to experience it for herself. Earthlings lived in the trees just like they were on the ground. She had to catch herself for a moment of dizziness at the strange heights, but slowly Talisia found her balance again.
"So this is your home then?" Talisia questioned as she moved forward. The wooden flooring helped her to get a better grip with her feet and slowly she found that being up in the trees wasn't quite so bad. But what other challenges would be here?
She could only wait and see.

"It looks a little rough, but it's sturdy." Dris'rynne was always form over vanity, and it showed in the way she kept a home. The area was clean, but the boards didn't match, nor did the cushions used as seats.
The rustling continued above her. To the untrained eye the little eyes looking through a crack in the floorboard wouldn't have been visible. Wisely they skittered away, eager to play their games but smart enough to plan them out first.
"Five floors, all use vine ladders, with the first being a sort of common area. Bathhouse was the little shack you passed a few branches up. Second floor is mostly storage, third is the beasties, fourth is mine and fifth belongs to my parents. They won't be coming back for a while so my room is yours."
Dris'rynne hoped that Talisia wasn't looking for a lot of privacy because it was in short supply here. Still, she pulled herself up through the levels and left the hybrid to her own devices. She would figure it all out soon enough; if she even stayed that long.
Only time could tell.
