King continued to crank the ankle lock on Matt, having gotten the better of him for the opening moments of the match and intending to keep the pressure on as the Storm reached the ropes.

Matt let out a growl, fighting the internal battle of "do I tap or not" that so many others before him had done. The look on The Storm's face told the tale of the pain he was facing, and the crowd knew he would get out this. They chanted and clapped, trying to push the former BBW owner onward as he continued to claw his way to the ropes.
If he managed to get his hands on the ropes, he'd use them as leverage to pull himself up to the second one, then shoot his free foot back towards 2.0's abdomen!

There was a momentary lapse of judgement for King as Shanahan climbed up with the ropes, where he suspected he was about to get pulled over the top of them.
That suspicion was laid to waste when instead King as kicked in the stomach hard enough to make him let go of the lock and step back a pace.

With Matt's foot free, he continued to use the ropes to pull himself up to a standing position. He tested the strain on his ankle momentarily, applying simple pressure to see if he could still walk without a limp.
Hopefully, King was a good distance away from him, or else he'd already be at the mercy of The One True King's offense once more. The Storm reacted on instinct though, and his instincts told him that unpredictability is what would win this match-up. So as soon as he had his footing, he pulled tight on the top rope and jumped, planting his feet firm on the middle rope. Using his weight and momentum, he went for a Springboard for the first time in his career, aiming to bring his elbow back and crashing into King's dirty crown!

King had been well and ready to counter any move Shanahan had in his repertoire, so imagine his surprise as Matt busted out a move that was not in his repertoire at all. King's ready stance devolved into something more akin to panic, watching Matt sail through the air with the grace of an eagle piloting a blimp. He was taken down by the springboard attack, and the mat crashed when Shanahan's heavy fat-a** hit the mat with King's body.

The mat did indeed shake as three hundred pounds of pure muscle collided with it after nailing King right in his dumb face. The fans were electric, screaming in adulation for The Storm's sudden comeback. After landing, he quickly rolled over and pushed himself to a base position, taking a brief moment to breathe and soak in the rain that was falling around him. The Storm, fighting in his element. This was a once in a lifetime sight, and it was an omen for all to hear: The Storm was taking back BBW.
Matt grunted as he suddenly surged up to his feet and went running at the ropes. He slid into them and bounced off, sending himself hurtling towards the downed King. As he came in close quarters, Matt jumped and extended his legs, going for one of his classic leg drops!

King had rolled onto his side, checking his nose for blood after the elbow to the face. Satisfied that Matt hadn't done lasting damage, King lay down on his back again, preparing to get up, just in time to get leg dropped.

The mat shook with a thunderous clap after Matt landed on King's head. On impact, Matt quickly scrambled to hook King's leg, going for an early pin with Kelly's head trapped under his weight!

Every kick out was a waste of energy when some a*****e who weighed more than he should was on top of you, as King found, but he had the energy and ring awareness to kick out before the ref even counted to one. BBW was in for a fight.

The fans booed loudly at the kick-out, but Matt expected nothing less. He knew he wasn't going to get an easy victory. This was going to be a methodical win.
With King succeeding in the kick-out, Matt rolled off of his second most-hated-person ever and got up to his feet. Once he was up, he began to send a few rough kicks towards King's ribs, just enough to wake the man up and get him to his feet if they connected.

King didn't really need to be... woken up, but the kicks did the job anyway, causing him to arc as he was kicked in the stomach and abdomen. By some a*****e.

As King arched and moved away from Shanahan, he stepped back to give him a chance to recover. He waited, watching King's every movement. Was he preparing his next move, or looking to reset the match?

King slowly rolled away and when the onslaught stopped, or at least never came when he expected it, he slowly stood back up to his feet, stopping on one knee to make sure Matt wasn't setting up a trap for him, before standing completely off-center of the ring, facing Shanahan and trying to get a read on him.

Matt's cold gaze kept on King as he rose, keeping his focus maintained on the target at hand. He could tell by Kelly's movements that he was confused; Matt's tactic of switching up on his old tactics might be proving effective so far.
He rubbed his nose with his thumb before bringing both of his arms up in a readied position, ushering 2.0 in for a lock-up.

King looked around the arena as Matt looked to reset the stakes and go in for a classic lock up.
Alright. Matt wanted classic? He'd give him classic.
King raised his arms apprehensively, walking towards Matt, and just as they went in for the lock up...
King dropped to the mat and rolled all the way out of the ring to the floor, landing on his feet and shaking his head. The fans boo'd loudly, as King told them all to ******** off, walking around the ring with his back to Matt, setting his own pace. Classic.
