"Because there is always a catch." Imara managed out before is form disappeared. For a split second, she blinked and jerked her eyes around. His voice from behind sent her spinning on her toes.
She found in in view behind her. Teleportation wasn't real. It couldn't be...scientist had been working on it for...
Well it didn't matter. He had teleported. He had gotten around her defenses. He had caught her off guard.
That bothered her. ALOT.
"Benefits to jumping around?" She snapped out, shuffling her feet to give more room between them. Those red eyes were narrowing. "Next you are going to tell me you can summon creatures from space."

"... Not space, but I do have what amounts to a Spirit of the Earth that I can call to my aid if I need it." Leucite said in reply. He'd spooked her a bit, and he should have been more cautious about that. "I can... show it to you if you like." Iudicael would listen to him of course, that wasn't the issue, the youma didn't really balk him anymore unless a senshi or knight was involved and even then it didn't take him much to exert his full control over the youma. "But I am thinking you might have reached your maximum belief level today... best not to push it." He didn't want to scare her. "But if you insist, I will show it to you. Or we can save it for another day. I can give you... a number to call, a friend of mine that will get in touch with me and let me know where to meet you. If you are still curious..."

He was right. Again something she didn't want to admit. She was mentally over stimulated especially after the teleportation. Who know seeing him rip a 'soul' out of someone would bother her less than teleportation.
But that was the hunter in her. She wanted to be in control...have the upper hand. He had completely taken that away from her.
"I'm fine. You don't know jack about me so don't start assuming that you do." But on the other hand, she wasn't backing down from him. She was not a weak woman by any means. "Show me this so called Spirit of the Earth oh wind walker." The last part she said with a grin.
Imara found her balance again and met his eyes. She would not be called weak.

"If you insist..." Leucite said with a breathless sigh. He honestly did not want to do this, teleporting had been bad enough, summoning Iudicael now, so soon afterward. That was going to hurt. But the lady had requested it and Leucite TRIED to be a gentleman. Tried to, being the key words there. He focused his will on Iudicael in the Rift and with force of will called it forth into being next to him, his hand instantly going to the top of the youma's head. "Iudicael, sit." The youma sat, red glowing eyes watching Imara as it's fangs leaked spit and it's bladed tail curled in beside it. Leucite rested his hand on its head, using the youma somewhat for balance as he regained his energy, trying to not let Imara see how much the action of bringing Iudicael into the world had drained him. "Here it is."

A pair of red eyes locked onto her form and Imara felt her own matching ones grow in size. She had been kidding!
But he had not. Indeed he did have a magical creature he could call upon and there it was. Scythe tail and all. Was that even possible? What demon was this?
And then the worry melted away into a glowing smile. A little bit of it came from how tired the lines around Leucite's face suddenly appeared to be. Most of it came from the huntress inside of her. This mutt was a killer. It was a creature not of horror but of skill and talent. Imara could see that as it gazed at her.
"It's magnificent." She let out, standing straight and moving, finally, with a light step to look the beast over.

"Iudiacel, stay," Leucite said in a voice that dripped with command and control. The youma froze in place, glowing eyes locked on the human female as she moved closer to it. It's fangs continued to drip drool but it did not move, it might as well be a statue as far as any observer was concerned. Leucite took his hand off the youma then, straightening up as he debated ingesting one of the energy orbs he had secreted in his coat pocket - but thought against it. That would only serve to raise more questions than he really wanted to answer right that moment. Maybe another day. "Tamed it myself, by hand." He said with a laugh. "Iudicael tried to take a good chunk out of my arm but I managed to win out in the end. It's jaw... is pretty damn strong." He patted the youma lightly on the head. "But it works well with my fighting style so I can't complain."

"I'm sure it got something of you in return for its services." Imara moved closer to it, bent over, looked it up and down. Never once did she touch the creature. It was not a pet. Very few people could really understand the difference between a hunting dog and a pet.
This was clearly not a pet.
"So, besides sit and stay and not eat your leg, what else can he do?" Imara stood back up right and gazed from beast to master. Though it was up for debate which was which.

"My fists several times between the eyes, it decided it might be a good idea to listen after that, and it bound itself to my will." Leucite said. It was a hard... thing to describe. But Iudicael felt as much a part of him as his own arm when it was out and about, he had but to exert his will on the beast and it listened the vast majority of the time. It was almost as if he'd stripped Iudicael of anything resembling free will and turned it into an extension of himself. But again, hard to put into words. "It keeps others pinned in place for me until I get to them, I'm a close ranged fighter - I like to be up in the thick of it, and Iudicael clamps down with those jaws it has and keeps people locked in place." "It's basically a walking bear trap. It usually comes with me on patrols but some knights I revel in my old styles, so it varies."

"Should have gotten yourself a sharp shooter then." Imara commented, deciding she would step back now. Something in the flick of its eye made Imara think it did not like being called out and forced to sit for long periods of time.
So her eyes flickered to Leucite's face. "You look like s**t. Suddenly run out of energy?"

"Naw, I'll leave that to people who can actually aim. I'm not a bad shot, but I'd rather see the light go out when I take my opponents down you know?" Leucite chuckled, trying to avoid answering her next question, but knowing it would have to be addressed. "Teleporting and calling upon Iudicael take energy - my energy." He motioned to the youma. "I have to pull it from the Rift into this world and it's... somewhat of a drain on my resources. I'll be perfectly fine in a bit, I just have to recharge my reserves." Or borrow from someone else's but I'm not doing that in front of you. Not now, not yet.

"No point if it doesn't." Imara commented as her brow rose. "Rift?"
He was now dropping too many new words and items. Not to mention he looked like crap. There was already one dead body...
"s**t..." Imara turned and looked back where the corpus now laid. He was a drug dealer. If he was out, it meant deals were going down tonight and here they were standing there chatting away like it was nothing.
"Nevermind. I think it's time I get going anyway."

Best to let her go then. With a nod he said quietly. "If you ever are interested, I patrol this part of town quite a bit, just come looking for me." He chuckled. 'Who knows, maybe we'll meet again." Bowing his head then, he clicked his tongue. "Iudicael, come," With that he took a step forward, then two, then he jogged into the darkness of the alley, taking the back route out of the area. She could do as she wished. But perhaps he had planted a seed.
