"I heard yer speech. You ain't got people so you worth nothin' blah, blah, blah." Chel's hands laced a prison behind her head and she leaned back, the picture of relaxation. "You keep tellin' her she's selfless but she didn't offer nothin' more than what you did."
Rather obnoxiously she added, "When I become great knight I'll try to remember your humility. Maybe even give you a nice title. You can be my squire or some s**t." A toothy grin let them know that she was (mostly) kidding.
And Chel still didn't give her name.

Estel laughed. "She's got a point, Shun..."

"If you become a great knight, squires, titles and s**t won't matter matter because you'll soon be dead," Shun grumbled.
"Whatever Morgana did to the others, we may not be immune."

"You aren't immune now either," Jack pointed out. "But a little extra power might go a long way if you're dedicated enough." It was hard to say when the giant had arrived; he'd chosen to doff some of his armor momentarily, making him quieter than usual.
There was no comment for Shun and Estel's apparent reunion, though theirs seemed to have gone off better than his attempt to convince Chel that he knew her. He wondered if they would ever truly remember what had happened before pledging themselves, or if he would be stuck with what scattered bits he had now before his life ended, one way or another.
He did, however, shoot Chel a curious look. She was the last person he would have imagined would have stepped up to the plate.
"Now that we have a little down time, I'd like to ask you all what happened down in the tunnels. I've only heard snippets."

"Everyone died," Chel inserted sarcastically before closing her eyes.
(Well it wasn't wrong).

"I am well aware. I was not excluding myself with that statement," Shun said in turn as he continued to mess with his gear.
"In short... yes. Everyone died. In the case of Galahad, he had some sort of grail. When he died, shadows filled the room and reanimating the dead, including him. Mordred was running around, casting illusions and s**t. He probably did that to Galahad... overheard him speaking with the man prior. He was the one that put the idea in his head."

Chris felt weighted as he made his way from Lancelot to the rest of the group at the lake's edge. He dropped heavily beside Chel, silently bumping her shoulder with his. A wordless reassurance.
The air here didn't seem any lighter here than it had when he'd been kneeling and offering his life. "This is cheery."

"Reanimated the dead?" He shouldn't have sounded surprised--what hadn't magic done at this point--but Jack couldn't help himself. It seemed at every turn there was a new low for the knights to find themselves falling into. "******** hell..."
Settling down in the grass, he slid his boots off and winced as he curled his toes as Chris joined them. Strange that all of them had offered themselves up for whatever reason. Death with a puppeted purpose seemed more glamorous than usual.
"I'd overheard him with Lancelot in the Great Hall. Mordred claimed he'd been under Morgana's spell from the beginning--another lie, no doubt," he said with a scowl. "He was the reason Lancelot wasn't at the castle. I don't think we'll have to worry about him anymore, however. I saw Morgana put him in the casket in one of the tunnels, the one where we got our weapons back from--it looked like the vision we'd seen from the tower."

Chel was jarred back awake when Chris nudged her. The panic in her eyes showed that maybe she'd been a little more shaken up by the events, but it quickly subsided.
She noted the others taking off their armor and it hadn't occurred to her to do the same. Boots came off easily (no straps, never liked them), all the armor pieces shortly followed. The last part came with a look to Chris, and she pulled him to her other side as a sort of shield from their sight. It could have been misconstrued as shyness or modesty, but in reality Chel just didn't want them to see the marks that littered her backside while she aired her clothes out.
"Has anyone seen Merlin?" Chel asked curiously, focused on her armor removal and not looking up from it, "Lancey said he was missin', but I mean 'fore that."

"Last I saw him, he was in the tower. The one where we had found the casket that we had seen in the vision. Kicked us all out," Shun stated. He furrowed his brow, listening to what Jack said. There were some things there he hadn't been aware of.
So the vision he had seen was not the past, but the future. It was good to hear that Mordred got what was coming to him, but that did beg the question of why Morgana would do such a thing. They were on the same side, weren't they?
"That was not too long before Galahad threw us all into prison..."
