Yeah the butterflox is super awesome. He's a real cutie in person too!
Anytime after four is good for me! You don't work too far from the Lab right? I can be there by the time you get out so just swing right over afterward!

Sounds good to me! And yes, I should be able to swing by after work no problem. Once again, thank you for your help.
See you then!

Emailing to give an update on how the new butterflox is doing, and I have to say things are going swimmingly! Maili is absolutely smitten with the little guy, and while this means she's a bit clingy it does also mean she's working really hard to take good care of him, so I think it turned out alright. She's a little grumpy he's not responding to his new name yet (Ferdinand), but he did, of course, just get it.
Any ideas of when would be a good time to meet on Saturday? I'm open to most anything, though Maili might be a little grumpy if things are too early.

Hey that's great to hear! I'm glad things are working out; he really did seem to like you when you met him yesterday! His new name is cute and tell Maili that I'm sure he'll pick up his name soon. Chimeras are kind of like puppies that way, you give them a name and they look at you like 'what' when you call them by it, or ignore you entirely. Usually takes a few weeks but so long as she keeps working with him, he'll pick it up quick!
How about...11am? Or noonish if that's better for you? I get to the Lab around 8 but I have my paperwork and other things to get out of the way before you guys show up. Nothing major, don't worry. I'm usually done by 10 the latest.

That's good to know! Luckily there hasn't been any sort of trouble yet, though already she's been trying to figure out how to coax him to certain locations since he's not responding to the name yet. His sugar water dish is one place she's pounced on him for cuddles when she can't get him to come to her.
I'd say 11 am would be good, early enough to take our time with things but not so early as to need to rush over there. I haven't told Maili about the meeting yet (she's been so intent on Ferdinand), but I have a feeling it's going to go over well.

I'd say try treats! Those always work and if you reward good behavior, any animal is more apt to repeat it. Of course, don't overdo it. You don't wanna make him sick or anything.
Sounds good to me then! Who knows, maybe if we're lucky your Frei will have grown a bit more since I took those photos for you!

I'll see what kind of treats we can find for the little guy then, thanks!
And now that you mention it, the tank viewing will end up being a little over a week since you sent the pictures, so I look forward to it! I'll do my best to make sure Maili doesn't mash her face against the glass while we're there. See you Saturday!

I'd try sugar cubes and maybe stuff like lunch meat myself!
Well I hope they pull off a bit of growth! How cool would it be to find out their gender when you guys visit?! But yeah I'll see you guys Saturday!

So I broke the news to the work betting pool today - needless to say there was some groaning among the losers, but everyone was happy to hear an update. Now it's devolved into name suggestions (though some are obvious jokes, such as Sparkle Princess, and yes, someone put that down).
It was great to be able to see things on Saturday, and it definitely helped put everyone's mind at ease. It's just... different being able to see things in person.

Maybe 'Sparkle Princess' can be her nickname! I kid of course, but hey, I'm sure the ones who picked correct are happy! Any serious name contenders yet? And do you have any in mind that you came up with on your own? I'm always curious about that.
Well I'm glad to have been able to have shown you her! Hopefully soon I'll be able to introduce you two without water and glass between you, eh?
By the way, how's Maili been since Saturday? I bet she can't stop talking your ear off!

Some names I have at the moment are Selina, Kiera (or Kieran, either one), and Terry. I'll probably run through more as things go forward, definitely just have to wait and see what the future brings!
It definitely took Maili awhile to come down from her high at seeing the lab herself, especially with seeing the raevan, but Ferdinand has been a big help in calming her down. Thanks for letting her come, I think it's going make things easier going forward.

I really like Selina and Kieran! But of course, there's always the chance when she's born you'll see her and forget everything but one name you probably didn't consider. That's what happened with Anya.
Hey no problem, man. She was great to meet and I'm glad she enjoyed the tour and everything. I've got my fingers crossed that your girl comes out of the tank real soon now but if she keeps everyone waiting you're more than welcome to stop by and visit her again! And I'll be sure to keep you updated on any progress she makes between now and then too!

The periodic updates would be great, and, like you said, hopefully the next meeting with the raevan can be in person. And if not, that's fine too!
I'll keep you updated with Ferdinand on my end, though, honestly, I think things are going to be perfectly fine with him - he's settled in great. Thank you for everything these past couple weeks, and best of luck going forward.

Awesome! I'll be sure to send you anything I find out (but of course if she's born before then, expect a phone call, not an email)!
I'm glad Ferdy's got himself a great home and has settled in. Be sure to send me some photos sometime! Maybe I can start a 'Happy Chimera Homes' wall or something here.
But yeah you take care and I'm sure you'll hear from me soon!
