robot kitten Sorry for the hold up!! ;_; There was a moment where Nimueh wanted to swing, despite the race, but he'd already agreed - and even with his shyness holding him back, he very much wanted to try. What if he won? And if he lost, then he could just play on the swing anyway, right? Nodding to himself, pleased with this decision, he squinted up at the very tall trees, suddenly thankful that his mama spent so much time climbing - he'd taken to following her up them, even if he often lost his grip and fell back down again. It had at least given him a bit of practice... but he'd rather go along the ground.
More likely to lose that way, but at least he wouldn't fall and hurt himself. Nimueh mused about his 'plan of attack', but was interrupted from his thoughts by his aunt, Ashani, as she pat his head, startling him enough to jump a bit - only a bit! Peeking up at her, he dared a small, sheepish smile in return and nodded. "...Okay! Ready?? " Lumi's excitement was contagious - seeing her bouncing made his smile widen, and he soon began to bounce himself, stamping the grass under his feet as he lined up next to Lumi, facing the tree they'd decided was their goal.

Anya sniffed; "I never play favorites!" Rather hard to when you had two triplet sisters and picking one over the other all the time could cause too much trouble. Even though she did love her littlest sister just slightly more.. since Lumi was so small it made her seem like a little sister, especially since Lumi was so wild! Not that Anya would ever dare to utter these words anywhere; it'd hurt Ashani and that was a no no! "Take your places runners!" Anya said, trying to sound like an announcers. "Choose your path carefully; no cheating, no fighting and no making too big a mess!" She giggled and waited for them to get to their places. "Ready!... Set!.... Gooo!"

Still caught up in her excitement, Lumikani missed the exchange between the quietest of the sister and their nephew. But she did send a daring smile back toward Anya at the comment. That was good, that meant she wouldn't be favoring Nimeuh for being new.
Lowering herself slightly as she recalled seeing her elder sister do during on racing hunt, Lumi felt her tongue poke out and her eyes narrow in concentration. Choose a path? That wouldn't be hard, and she wouldn't need to cheat to get ahead and win this little race.
Ready...
Lumi felt herself lower more, and her breath was held deep in her chest.
Set...
Her eyes focused on the tree and the sound seemed to fade around her as she felt a rush of excitement flutter in her stomach.
GO!
And with that, Lumikani pushed off with all she could and raced toward the tree, a wide grin of excitement flaring across her cheeks

Ashani readied herself for the race. She would take the ground as her path. She could never beat Lumi there, and she would be fast enough that she wouldn't play favorite to Nim, yet if he needed help, she could be close by. As she heard Anya ready the racers, Ashani's ateni twiched in amusment and anticipation. She realized she was happy, as she was acctually playing with her sisters and little nephew. When Anya yelled "GO!" Ashani took off! She smiled and couldn't wait to reward all her siblings and Nim.

robot kitten I say Robo rolls a dice - 3 10-sided dice, Dice 1 is Lumikani, Dice 2 is Ashani, and Dice 3 is Nimueh, and the highest one wins?? ovo Anticipation made the little Alkidike jittery, feet taking small steps forward, then back again as he reminded himself to stay behind an invisible line in the grass. Finally - finally Anya said the magic words. In a rush, the three shot off, Nimueh pushing his little legs as fast as they would carry him. At least the trees were a straight shot ahead - any sort of weaving or darting between the trees would have set his dizziness off. But this? This was exciting!! A wide smile flew on his face, and his eyes shot to his aunts - realizing he wasn't as dreadfully far behind as he had been expecting.
Ashani was just a few paces ahead, though Lumi was running like she was being chased - Nimueh urged his legs on, to go faster.

Elyessi Doing this! Dice 1 is Lumikan = 3 Loses by a long shot! Dice 2 is Ashani = 9 wins barely! Dice 3 is Nimueh= 8 almost won! Anya giggled as they all shot off, then she went to sit back on her swing; no reason to wait in discomfort right? She was impressed that Nimueh was managing to keep up.. in fact looked to be outpacing Lumi! She swung gently back and forth, watching carefully to make sure no one was cheating but also just in case something went wrong she could run inside and get mother. "The runners have charged off! Running wild for a few moments as they jockey for position." She started giving a narrative of the fight; Ashani rounds the corner first, with little Nimueh right behind her! Where is Lumi? Lagging behind!"

As she took off, she felt the wind in her hair and the excitement in her bones. This is what she was made for. Lumikani was used to running and racing the creatures and the wind, and she felt she had this one in the bag. It was a pity that she took that moment to listen, and she heard Anya's laughter.
Lagging? What was this?
Lumikani swiveled her head to the side, seeing both her sister and her nephew were close but not ahead. Anya must be half-blind, and as she spun her head around to look at her sister, she missed the twig that was in her path.
All at once, her foot caught and slipped, and Lumi felt herself tumble and fall flat on her palms, her head shaking as it knocked close to the ground. She sputtered for a long second, before lifting her head and seeing both her competitors ahead and near the tree.
At a loss, she pushed her hands up and just sat on her knees, watching as the race finished and letting anger and frustration bubble up. How would she ever live this one down and prove she was as strong as anyone if she let her sisters win and the half-blood beat her. How could this have happened?

Ashani laughed as she ran. She loved playing with her sisters and her nephew. Nim was just as fast as her, and she had no worries he wouldn't be able to finish the race. She was sure that she was just fast enough to let Lumi win too. She began to space out when she heard Lumi fall. She wanted to run over to her sister now to help her up, but she knew that Lumi wouldn't want to beat her because Ashani let her win. As she reached the tree, with Nim close at her heals, she then turned and went back to her fallen sister, reaching out a hand to her smiling. No sense in getting worked up over a small race. "You should finish the race, even if you come in last." Ashani said quietly smiling, "Because not finishing something you started would be even worse."

robot kitten I'm so sorry it took me so long!! Hopefully the last rounds of tags will go quickly for you! ;3; How Nim did it was beyond him - Aisha knew by the time he got to the tree, running blindly and desperately, Anya's loud spectating in his ears, he was breathing so hard his throat hurt, flopping to sit in the grass. He hadn't been running long enough to truly exhaust himself, but the mad dash had certainly been enough to tax the little Alkidike, especially being as prone to dizzy attacks as he was. For now, however, he seemed to be ok - although he focussed completely on his breathing for a bit. He realized, soon, that he was the only one actually AT the tree- and for a horrible moment he thought he'd raced to the wrong one! But then he looked back, and saw Ashani and Lumi, quietly talking. Lumi was settled on the ground, looking none too happy - but he shrugged it off, pushing himself to his feet, and pattered over anyway, peeking his aunt's sullen face.
"You fell? Don't worry, I fall all the time." He consoled, his voice soft, giving a sheepish, still breathless grin.

Anya didn't immediately race off when Lumi fell she fell all the time after all... and you had to give encouragement to your little.. nephew/brother before fussing over your own triplet! "Good job. You almost beat Ashani!" She whispered to Nimueh as she ruffled his dreds with a grin before racing off towards Lumi. "Are you hurt? " Lumi normally just sprang back up and kept on going, she hadn't gotten hurt too bad right? And she didn't look like she was about to cry but she wasn't... happy either. Anya crouched down, trying to see if Lumi had gotten wounded or scratched anywhere.

Lumikani smoothed her features over as her sweetest sister approached. It took a long breath before she grabbed Ashani's hand moved to stand, eyeing her sister a long moment before letting out a huff. Before she could answer, it seemed that everyone focused on her falling, and she had to fight hard to hide her embarrassment.
All she could do was eye Nim with a bit of a scowl, her ears flicking and her antennae tense. It wouldn't do for her to use her frustration on the boy, because even she knew that he was sensitive and wouldn't handle the frustration. Instead, she swiveled and sent a small glare at Anya, the one who had distracted her in the first place.
She hadn't missed how Anya went to Nim first instead of her. Not playing favorites, indeed.
"I still can beat you three any day in the trees." She defended, showing no sense of the cuts on her knees or the bruises to her ego. After a long moment, she turned to her sister and nephew, and added a gruff, "Congrats on winning" along with a reluctant but true smile.
After another second, she looked right at Nim, and for the first time she fully acknowledged him, "If you can keep up with us, you really are an Alkidike. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. And if they do, let me know and I'll make sure they don't say it again."
There, now everyone would be happy, and she could grumble in silence when she got home.

Scarlett Arbuckle Again, sorry for the delay ^^""" Also, sucky post xD All Ashani could do was smile. She knew her sisters well, and she knew the hurt she saw in Lumi's eyes despite her words and expressions otherwise. All she did was mentally sigh and note to give her sister the prettiest flower crown later.

[[Are we done on this rp ?? ovo <33 ]] For a long moment, it seemed like Lumi was upset - and honestly Nimueh wasn't sure WHAT to do. But finally he turned to Anya, smiling weakly at her support - even as it bolstered him, brightening his face, only for him to feel guilty at his pleasure, when Lumi was right there and obviously upset, if the way she was looking at him was anything to go by. His smile fell, and he stepped back, shuffling anxiously.
Eventually, her gaze turned away, face softening as she congratulated them. "Mmhm-- you're the best in the trees!" Nimueh assured her, smiling weakly.
Lumikani turned once more to look at him, and for a harrowing moment he felt his heart stop, anxious that she would scold him - but instead? The words that he heard... he blinked, eyes wide, taking a long moment to realize just what she had said. Then, before he could stop himself, Nimueh jumped forward and hugged her tightly, grinning brightly. It was brief, but an overly tight, excited embrace. After only a few moments, he jumped back and raised his hands, biting his lip to try and keep his smile from consuming his face. "Yeah -- yeah, I will, Lumi."
He'd always been intimidated by his cousins - by Lumi - but now he realized he'd been pushing them away. It felt like a dream - and even if his anxiety crept in, later, insisting it was too good to be true, he wouldn't let his happiness get crushed right now.
Scuffing a foot against the grass, Nimueh peeked at Anya and beamed again - as if silently saying 'She accepted me!! Can you believe it?!'
