Now that she is safely away from the skunk, Paradigm takes stock of her surroundings and finds that
she has made it back to the start of the maze. With an exasperated sigh, she trudges forward again.
She is determined to make it through somehow! She keeps the rock and the key with her, though she's
beginning to second guess taking the rock since all it did was anger a skunk.

She hoped she wouldn't run into the skunk again.

Now that she had made the decision to try again, she was back at the fork. But which way should she
go now? She wrinkled her nose in thought and cast a wary glance to the left, wondering if the skunk
was still lurking down that path.

Deciding not to chance the angry skunk, paradigm turns right and trots down the path. So far no skunks.
But soon enough she realizes she's been quite literally hedged in! "Drat." She stares at the hedge
that blocks her path, then glances at the items she has with her. The key would do no good, perhaps
the rock would be more useful? She tosses the rock and lo! and behold! The hedge gives just enough
for her to pass over it. She does a happy little dance and continues on.

Now that Paradigm is over the hedge, she finds herself face to face with... a door? Well, now she knows
why there was a key on the path! It seems luck was on her side today. She opens the door with the key
and reaches in to find... a marble? It seems to glow and she's not entirely sure what it's for. Nevertheless,
she picks up the marble and leaves the maze slightly confused, but in higher spirits.

My name: Pyrefly
My faction: Nightmares
Small IC description of character: Of a small stature with a brooding air surrounding her. Yellow eyes peer out from beneath a lock of unruly violet and teal hair. A bell jangles against her cheek as she looks at you and then shakes her head and scoffs, mentally thinking how un-perfect you are.
Oracle Scribe: Mewsings` Oracle Scribe

Finally free of the damnable Fire Spirits, Pyrefly slowly made her way through the crowds, letting them lead her this way and that. That is... till she came to stand at an archway. Others came and went, and with a shrug the mare set forth.

Others passed her, voicing the choice of two items of three. Her horn, a key and a rock. Deciding, she chose the two items before her, the rock and the key. No point in getting her horn dirty!

She ambled her way toward the maze, breathing in the scents of flowers and freshly turned earth. It filled her with peace. Carrying her little key in her mouth, she turned into the entrance of the maze. Almost immediately she was face with the dilemma. Left or right?
PostPosted: Fri May 01, 2015 4:45 pm

Right. It seemed a good choice. So she continued onward. After a time she was faced with a large hedge. She grimaced - it blocked her path and her progress onward. She held the two objects in her mouth, both tasted utterly disgusting. Dropping them to the ground. she stared at them. There had to be a purpose... The key obviously went to a door of sorts, so she shook her head. The rock? It seemed useless, but it was better than having it in her mouth any longer. Nodding, she decided. Flinging the rock at the hedge with a flick of her head, she watched it pass through it. A bit of light shown through.
Quick, she gathered the key, and galloped toward the opening.

She passed through the hole, and it sealed behind her. Did she hear a titter of laughter? ...did hedges laugh? With a shake of her head, the mare continued along the maze's path, turning this way and that way. She finally reached a dead end. And a door? Pyrefly flapped her wings hopefully and lipped the key into a straight position, stepping forward to insert it into the lock. With a twist of her head, she turned the key. The door swung open with a groan, and in the glum insides lay a red marble. Did it really glow or was it a trick of the light? She collected it, curious, and turned to find another way, only to notice tracks on the ground. She made her way to follow them...

My name: Nebula
My faction: Nightmare
Small IC description of character: Nebula is a loner who values his peace more than anything. It is not that he dislikes others in a bad way he just can't allow others to disturb his thoughts while he ponders about meaning of things, especially while he studies his beloved stars in clear starry nights. Yet at this very instant he is ready to break all boundries that he believes in so he could investigate and explain this strange pulling force he feels deep inside.
Oracle Scribe: Nebula's Oracle Scribe

After taking a rest, and with the key still on his mind, Nebula was determined to find out what it was meant for. It had to open something and the burning desire what could it be and what could be found behind the lock gave him will to try his luck again with his trusted horn and a key he found.

He took another crack at the maze only to get his horn stuck again. Maybe the maze was not the was he was supposed to take...

Leaving a maze and taking a path, after some time passed by, Nebula made quick full stop when he stumbled upon a skunk. Horror passed his face. Not again! He was sure he managed to get away from that unfriendly skunk or was this a different one. He wasn't sure and he didn't care. But that was it he had enough of them. This time he'll make the skunk run away. So he geared up a running start to threaten the skunk and sure enough the animal run away. The path was clear to continue forth and this accomplishment boosted Nebulas ego a bit. Yes this time he was triumphant and he was gonna claim his prize.

And sure enough Nebula found himself in front of a wooden door. Now he knew what the key was for and he could quince his thirst for finding out what was hidden behind it. Excitement in the air around him could be cut with the knife. And as the doors opened he was surprised to find a red marble. A small treasure indeed. And there on the ground were tracks. Yet again. These were something that he had to find out who they belong to.

For this all the troubles he went through were worth the effort.

NAME: Nokomis // FACTION: Citizen
Small IC description of character: The mare was responsive to the turn of events rumbling around her. Her reaction was with a calm curiosity that simply seemed to sparkle in her orange-red orbs, a delightful look. Nokomis, riding the wave of curiosity was quick to approach, without question and admire the magic. This was an event she was sure she would forget.
Oracle Scribe: Greenie EA's Oracle Scribe

The bliss of being free would likely never wear off as thoughts of the gravesite lingered in the back of her mind, that unfortunately included the haunting hoot sounds. Deep in her soul she had a feeling that owl would be following her for a good while.

Upon a new day Nokomis rose with the sun and began her adventure once again leaving behind many nightmares. Though she wasn't sure if those nightmares would cease altogether or if her time spent here simply meant she was screaming 'bring it on!' to the whole dark world. She was grimacing at the thought of accidentally taunting any bad fortune when she rounded a corner and was met with her most recent task.

A maze.

Had the gravesite not been enough? The thought scrolled through her mind in a glimpse of her true feeling, however she knew she would take on this task to completion. So, with a determination that was probably more fierce than the maze might have been calling for she approached it's walls only to be stopped in her tracks. "What might these be?" There were items and with the item came instruction.

A key.
A rock.
Or me.

The thought was uncanny. "Well I'll trust my own horn over a rock, but perhaps the key will bring some use." Quickly she scooped up the object she had determined as useful than began her move towards the maze.

Choice lead her to a fork in the road, decisions.. decisions. Nokomis stood for a moment, collecting what thoughts she could about the matter, which ended with her picking at random.

"Left won't hurt anymore than right would.."

The thought likely wasn't a sound one, but it's what the mare had to go off of. With nothing in mind for what could happen she took her path. Of course a path wouldn't be without it's hardships! What fun would an easy path be, anywho? Nokomis was sure she would probably never find out as a she rounded a corner and came across a skunk.

The creature wasn't facing her at first and she got ready to make a move before the skunk could. That move was to run at first, but than the furry being turned and stared at her with fierce, daring eyes! Nokomis stared right back and was reminded of her encounter the day earlier. "Oh no, I am not running this time."

Though aggression wasn't her strong suit she certainly gave it a try and began a hard, steady run at the skunk. Her head began to lower and it was clear she was about to use her horn, such a wonderful thing! The skunk wasn't even going to consider what could happen with a horn like that and Nokomis slowed to a walk as the little creature scurried away.

"Ha!"

Her taunting laugh faded, her mind cleared and soon she realized she was able to pass with a problem. "Perhaps today won't be so hard afterall!"

With a smile on her face she marched on!

"Well this hasn't been so difficult."

The mare was positively delighted at her luck in choices. Between the items and the path she couldn't have asked for a better time. Soon she seemed to be approaching some form of 'end'. Another corner rounded and she was faced with another easily solved puzzle.

"Well a door in the middle of a maze? That peculiar." Though bewildered by the household items placement she hadn't truly reacted much beyond a simple and brief halt to in her step. The door was merely blocking a path and it wouldn't even be a challenge, the key would have to do.

Giving the key it's moment to shine was wonderful! In it went, turned and voila! Nokomis nosed the door open preparing herself for what could possibly lay ahead. "A red marble?" The question in her voice was clear and audible. She was expecting ghouls and insanity! Not something so beautiful...

The mare didn't let a moment slip by to quickly though and she was soon grabbing her prize, before she even had a chance to leave she noticed something in the corner of her eye. "The tracks again." This was a statement, a moment of recognition that she was likely following someone.

"Or are they running away?"

The tracks glued a place in her thought process as she began to take her leave from the Gardens. Beautiful as they were she would be happy to not see another maze in her life!

My name: Talya
My faction: Nightmare
Small IC description of character: A sense of nervousness nibbled upon the mare's mind, her stance shifting from hoof to hoof. Despite this, the sensation of excitement also enthralled her, capturing her willingly as she embarked upon a new step and journey upon this chapter of her life.
Oracle Scribe: Zempre's Oracle Scribe

The earlier events had been stressful, leaving the poor mare in a rather uneasy state. She needed a moment to relax and find her inner calmness once more. With the gentle sounds of buzzing bees mixed with the harmony of the chimes, as well as the beauty of the maze with it's flowers and bright green hedges, Talya believed that this would give her a moment to enjoy herself. Hopefully there would be a lack of nut throwing squirrels and even more so a lack of spooky mist and an eerie atmosphere. As she approached the entrance of the maze, she spotted a duo of items. The choices seemed rather obvious to her. Not wishing to have anymore physical bodily harm coming her way, she choose the rock and the key, knowing that she would rather damage them...then her horn. Determined once more, she prepared to enter the maze with a sense of excitement and wonder.

The walk was pleasant enough as she made her way down the path. IT was nice to have a moment to enjoy one's self at the celebration! However, her thoughts didn't linger long as she soon came upon a fork in the road. Pursing her lips, she shifted her gaze left and then right, trying to figure out which way would be best. Deciding to head right, and following her gut in doing so, she came across a rather larger hedge. It was clear she was suppose to continue..but the way seemed a bit cluttered. Not wishing to loose her key yet, she took out the rock and threw it upon the loose branches, smashing them down to clear her path out better. Once this was done, the rock was dropped upon the ground and she was once more moving forward. Yes, if she had not chosen that rock, she was sure her horn would have gotten stuck in such chaos.
