Chaonis had always been good at finding buttons and pushing them, and he of course knew what things would annoy Navi by now. Teasing her or anything related to music was, of course, generally a no no. And he did love to mess with her, so knowing things like that just made him want to push sometimes.
She was lucky, in a way, though, as he tried not to actually make her mad. There was a time when that was his only goal in life, and he spent most of his time teasing and pushing people until they snapped at him. While it was still fun sometimes, he would never dream of doing anything to risk his relationship with Navi.
There was actually something important in his life now, and it was worth taking care of.
He moved to sit with her on the piano bench, watching her play for a moment before smiling and nodding his head as she played. He leaned toward her and kissed her lovingly on the cheek, if only because he could and he wanted to. He did not need much else than this, he realized, and he felt light and happy.

A very brief glance was aimed up at him, but she wasn't practiced enough with the piano not to keep her eyes on where her fingers were dancing over the keys. She did smile though, as he sat down beside her and leaned in to lay a kiss on her cheek. A sweet, chaste brush of lips, but it was enough to lay a rosy tint over pale, freckle kissed cheeks. But she kept playing, keeping a careful pace that didn't quite match the song's desired tempo. "I've been wondering," she spoke up, after a moment. "If I can find a why to purify." When. Not if. When. She had to keep reminding herself that, had to keep her hopes up. "I'm not going to have anywhere to live. I'm not even going to have a name." Another quick flick of pale eyes in his direction, trying to gauge his reaction. "I've had to start over before, when Ares' saved me, but it was different then. Those of us that had nothing had her to help us." The smile faded slowly, and thoughtful, almost sad look crossed delicate features.

Chaonis looked at her for a moment, then moved to put his hand over hers, moving with her to play.
"When you purify, I'm going to take care of you," he said, without a pause, not taking his eyes off of her. This was the moment where he could prove that he had grown. He was strong. He was loyal. He was grown up. He was a responsible man with a very serious duty: and that was to protect her. This was the time when she needed his aid the most, and he did not want her to feel like she was walking in to this alone.
"You're going to be with me, and we'll figure everything else out. My dad will help. And we'll start a new life for you, you know? We'll move out. I'll do the job thing. We'll be okay. You'll be okay. Because I'm going to be there next to you, and whatever happens to you, it's going to happen to me, too."
He leaned toward her and kissed her on the side of her head, closing his eyes and leaning against her.
"I love you."

She let him take over how and where her hand moved so she could look up at him, searching those dark eyes as he spoke. Addressing her worries, reassuring her with promises. It brought a smile to her face, had her leaning against him as he kissed her temple. Turning her hand beneath his, she slipped her fingers between his, squeezing his hand. "I love you, too." Talking to him helped to steady her resolve, it always did. Whenever she was frightened, or down, or doubting, she need only reach out to him, and he knew what to say, or what to do. It was going to be hard, she knew that, there was no way for it not to be, but they would get through it. Together.
