One thing about Chel was that she was always good to her friends. Maybe an a*****e to strangers and purposefully mischievous, but she knew how to pick out presents because she actually watched and cared and noted all the small details that people exuded when they thought no one was looking.

Abbi's excitement gave her a smile as she continued digging through her bags. "S'just a hotel teapot dang." But her face betrayed that Chel was glad Abbi was so enamored with it. There was always a small anxiety associated with gift giving- what if they don't like it?

"Chocolates for the lady," Chel said, tossing two bags of some kind of homemade Grecian candy Abbi's way. "One's definitely not infused with alcohol 'cause I'm underage and that's illegal." So said the army of beer bottles on her kitchen counter.

She kept digging though. "I know they're here somewhere, ********>." Chel had piles and piles of things in her room; she wasn't without organization but neither did she share her significant other's OCD tidiness.

Finally she procured a box from under a blanket and said, "Aha!" In the box was a pair of sandals, with wings and all. "You said Hermes right? Jack actually picked these ones out."

As though the wonderful gift alone isn't enough, Abbi's come all over emotional about things. There's the fact that Chel thought of her enough to get her something, let alone something really nice, and then of there's the idea that Chel put considerable effort into what to get Abbi. That would have been enough to send the girl clambering at her friend for a hug, but there were more gifts to ply the teen with, apparently.

She wasn't a seasoned fighter like some others on the Island, but Abbi had learned a few things from her time on Deus and today she got to show off. When Chel lifted her hand to toss the bags, Abbi set the teapot down as gently as possible, and managed to lift her own hands up in time to catch the chocolates. When Chel turned away to continue digging, the girl jumped up in the air for a quick victory dance before turning her attention to the chocolates.
"Oh yeah, I always forget you're like... Not legal." This is meant as a compliment because Chel is the perfect blend of adult and fun, but Abbi is too busy opening a bag to properly articulate that point.

The candy is delicious, and having forgotten in the face of chocolate that Chel has prepared food, Abbi had a huge mouthful of candy when she was given her final gift. She hastily chews and swallows it all while looking avidly at the box because she recalls what she asked for and didn't think it really existed. With abandon she pulls open the box and extracts the shoes, sparkling gently at them.
"They're so cuuuuute!" Nevermind the dilemma that she rarely wears sandals given her habit of always wearing stockings, they're too perfect.
"Ha! I should have guessed. I bet he gets you the best shoes." Though now that she thought about it, Abbi wondered if the couple shared shoes?

Regardless, she set down the box and popped into the air to give Chel a very excited hug, all the while squealing "thank you"s and "you're the best"s. Feeling especially generous, she even went so far as to give her friend a kiss on the cheek before she went back to hugging her.

Abbi Jack has monster feet there's no way they could share shoes alskd;jf

"Eh? Nah not really. He doesn't buy me shoes 'cause I'd never wear 'em. Got my boots and we're good." She held her feet up to show off said boots, because it was one of maybe three pairs of shoes she owned.

The hug was accepted with eye rolls and "you're welcome"s and "yeah I know I am." The kiss was certainly a surprise, and while Chel could have turned her head to make it a kiss on on the lips, Chel respected Abbi enough to know not to push a joke that far.

Midway through hugs she gestured to the food and said, "Y'know, I can't feed y'if you don't let go."

A considerable and thoughtful look was given to Chel's boots, and Abbi decided that though her friend would look absolutely smashing in a pair of heels, boots did suit her best.

"Maaaaaaybe but we're cuddling right now!" Abbi whined, giving Chel a few more squeezes before she relented. She popped back to her own little bubble with a grin and waved toward the food.
"Now we can eat."

In an effort to help she tried to find plates and silverware, after she had placed her presents somewhere she could fetch them easily.
"OK sooooo.... Were you guys just hunting clones? Do you know how many more there are?" Hey, she managed to only ask two questions this time!

"Hun if that's what you consider cuddlin', I'm afraid to see what you think sex is," she said with a laugh; a few hugs and thank yous did not a cuddle make.

She followed after the zipping mini hunter with a lazy, benign attitude. Abbi seemed set on getting the plates and what not herself, so Chel just pointed to a shelf and yawned. "We were huntin' one that was known. I dunno how many more there are. S'not a thing he talks about a lot." She gave Abbi a look. "Or wants people t'know 'bout. So don't go blabbin' you ********' chatterbox."

At first all Abbi does is sputter and blush and stammer a few attempts at sentences that eventually ends with her mumbling, "I know what sex is like." Sort of, not that she was willing to clarify for Chel.

Happy to help even in this small way Abbi retrieved the plates and offered one to Chel.
"Sheesh, you're as grouchy as Jack would be about it. I'm just asking." The teen pouted, holding her plate with both hands and hiding her mouth behind it to bat big blue, hurt-puppy eyes. "I'm not a chatterbox! I'm really good at not talking! I just... Sometimes have to talk, is all." The pout turns into a knowing grin, justifying her tendency to meddle with sweetness.
She did, however, inch closer to the food and hover just in case Chel wanted to go first. It was her meal, after all.

"Oh you do now?" Chel said with a lecherous grin. "Sure you don't need pointers?"

She crossed her arms and gestured to the food, letting Abbi serve herself. She never liked decided what amounts people should get, and she definitely didn't like going first. "I'm not grouchy like him," she retorted, completely sounding grouchy like him. "I'm just givin' you yer loopholes t'jump through," she added with a wink. "Y'know f'you really wanted to I'd help. S'what friends are for, yeah?"

In an effort to remain indignant, but mostly to show that she was very much A Grown Adult, Abbi gave a little shoulder shrug that went on a few times too many and gave away her false nonchalance. "Everyone could use improvements here and there." Which was a good way of saying she wanted pointers but didn't want to flat out ask for them. Because that wasn't what Real Adults did... Or something.

Abbi didn't move for the food right away because she was too busy pouting at Chel's grumpy tone. But it didn't last long for when Chel winked the teen perked up. A surprised smile broke her frown and she nodded quickly, finally turning to the food and scooping out a hearty serving for herself.
"I don't want to bother him about it or anything, I know he's sensitive about... Well, everything." Abbi scooted toward the table. "But I want to help!" Or, more accurately, be involved. Abbi did so hate being left out of important going on's in her friends' lives.

Chel gave a grin elsewhere at mention of the word "sensitive." It didn't help that she said, "You shoulda bitten when I offered then." Forever blackmail. "But really f'you want tips..." She gave Abbi a look. Did she really want them, or was she making conversation?

She couldn't help but empathize with Abbi's willingness to help. Chel had been there all too many times.

"You gotta talk to him about it. I just helped him get it." She shrugged, always leaving things in Jack's hands rather than actually doing any work. "I'm good at other stuff." She then turned to serve herself food, since Abbi was done being generous with her platter.
