Isaris had to think, the question while simple held weight that he wasn't so sure he was ready to take on. Teiluj helped open him to his younger brother in ways that he didn't think he could learn on his own. She helped him see that he could be better, could be as kind as he knew his Mother wanted him to be. Teiluj had become precious to him, but he didn't think it was in a deeper way. No...she was the spark for his compassion. He couldn't ruin that. So, with a tender stroke to her cheek. Inhaling softly at the feeling of her body close to his, her warmth seeping into him. "Because Teiluj, you deserve to know that its possible for someone to care for you. You taught me that I was capable of that just by being next to you. Thank you." His words were true. Teiluj taught him compassion, that he wouldn't deny. She taught him that his heart could be bigger. But...he felt...no. Knew. Knew that she wasn't his. She was his friend yes, but the shifter could feel that she wasn't meant for him. He was oddly okay with that. Teiluj would stay his friend. He would come back to visit her. Just. How could he tell her that?

"That's what kissing me means?" Teiluj asked skeptically. Part of her tried to ignore the words that echoed in her mind. She was useful, but was he just trying to toy with her in order to make her feel better. That only seemed to make her feel worse. Pushing away from Isaris Teiluj looked away from him. Her head lowered. "I see." It was the worst kind of way to attempt to help someone. Standing up Teiluj wrapped her arms around herself. Had she been a bad kisser? Was that why he was suddenly kissing and then rejecting her? "I don't deserve anyone loving me anyway. Hybrids are becoming increasingly unwelcome here, the only way someone would fall in love with me. Is out of rebellion, and that's not even true love." A long silence fell from Teiluj as she turned back to look at Isaris. "I appreciate you trying."

Isaris blinked as he stood, taking her arm in his grasp gently. "Hey. Teiluj I mean it. I'm sorry if I offended you." He listened to her further. "Why not leave? If you feel your in danger, I don't want you to be harmed by some idiot radicals like the ones I saw today. Talk to your family here. Get out. Travel with me and Issaly to Tale. Find your own place to be you. Don't let them think they can hurt you." He turned her to face him, "Teiluj, I care about you because you've shown me that not everyone is out to hurt me. You. Allowed me to find the strength to reach to others. Forge ties outside of my family." he then brought her into a close hug. "Please. Don't think I meant to hurt you. I didn't...I'm being honest."

Teiluj narrowed her eyes suspiciously at Isaris. She couldn't understand what he was saying, or trying to say. Why would he want her to travel with him? He had just rejected her, he didn't see her as mate material. Not that she could blame him, he was pure blooded after all. Turning her face away from Isaris, casting her eyes towards the ground her mind flashed back to Nkole. There was no way she could leave Ast, especially now. Nkoles memory was gone, and she had promised never to leave him. He was also still recovering from his head injury. And her word meant more than her own life. She would die to keep her promise to Nkole. Something about him drove her crazy pulled her to him, demanded her loyalty. Thinking about him put a blush on her face without her even realizing it was there. Turned Teiluj jerked to get away but was tightly held by Isaris. "It's because I'm mixed blooded isn't it?" Teiluj blurted after he pulled her close. Refusing to let her hands hug him back. Her fingers balled up into tight fists.

Isaris stared at the ground for a long while, pulling back he stepped back to lean on a tree. Staring at her his eyes were dead serious as a completely different air overcame him. "Your blood is where you came from. Not who you are. If that was true then I wouldn't be standing here looking at you as a friend. I'd be out there with those damn amazons judging you based on how they talked. My Father raised us to be warriors....to be...sheep. We were to follow the strongest warriors lead, no one else. Not even our own...he's dead. I lost sight of who I was as living being. I was stuck in his path. Teiluj, you reminded me of my Mother. Her words, guidance...I slipped back there." he turned his head to the path they came down. "I became the warrior my Father raised. It was a twisted way to protect you I know...I'm sorry." the male looked down at the ground, his arms crossed over his broad chest.

Teiluj shivered, the topic was a painful one for Teiluj to listen to. She didn't like knowing others were hurting, or had hurt in anyway. Feeling guilty for causing him more pain Teiluj mentally berated herself for not having thought about him first. For having been selfish enough to put herself first. She mentally promised she would no do that to someone else. She would make sure they were okay, not burden them with her selfishness. "I'm sorry." Teiluj quickly replied as more guilt tumbled over itself. She had caused something painful to happen, something that could have been avoided had she not gone to the market. Her cheeks burned with the threat of tears as she took a step back. Her arms wrapped around her body as if she were trying to hold herself together. "I shouldn't have caused you so much pain."

Isaris watched her. Sighing he walked forward and wrapped arms around her. Pressing her close he muttered. "Tei...its okay to cry. It really is." They both were hurting. That much he could tell. How badly this small kind big hearted female was wounded over and over boggled the male's mind. Right now they both needed comfort, her more than him. "Teiluj would you rather I take you home now? Let you calm down..." His preparations to leave were nearing completion...he wanted to say goodbye on better terms than this.

Teiluj nodded refusing to let her tears fall. For some reason all she wanted right now was to be back home with her Mamma and the amnesiac Oban she was looking after. Not to mention Tao hadn't come with her and part of Teiluj wondered if the Radaku pup wasn't bonding to her as much as she was to it. Part of her didn't want him going home with her, it felt wrong, as if she were betraying both Nkole for bringing another man home. Not to mention Nkole was an oban. What would happen if Isaris saw Nkole there? "Will you walk me part way?" Teiluj finally asked.

Isaris was glad she allowed that. Nodding he held out a hand. "Lead. I'll follow." As she led on he looked around for the Radaku pup. Not spotting the small creature he thought it best to stay silent on the topic. That could just send her off into another tear fest. Or close to tear fest. Teiluj really held it in back there he thought. She had toughness in her. Meant she could recover from talk like that...or so he hoped.
