Shaddaling "Captain Natia," Ra'fe replied, and rose her to the equivalent of a general if it was indeed true that she lead the whole settlement into battle. He watched her, polite and quiet as she spoke to the man who immediately dashed off. "Should we wait till he comes back," he made a motion with his hand of the man returning "Or continue?" He tapped the figures in the sand. Natia made the ‘wait’ gesture again, hands on her hips and looking vaguely impatient. A moment later, the man returned with Aulani, one of the three ambassadors who had visited the northern continent. Natia confers with Aulani for a moment, before the older woman turns back to Ra’fe.
“She doesn’t believe a man can use a knife, command a… group? Don’t know word. She says, not done. Try her”

"I would be honored to have a match with Captain Natia," he replied, keeping the title as an honorific of her rank. "But, what rules will the match have? Hand to hand? Knives? Swords? Staffs? Disarmament? First blood." He paused slightly and reached out to Banneth.
Banneth sighed, long and heavy before broadcasting to the rest of the dragons on the public channel.

V'den and SuuyethSuuyeth let own his own cackle of delight in return, and nosed at the child's hands, crouching so he was even more at their level. he muttered to himself and V'den, who let him play. He was basically harmless. “It would be a good idea.” agreed V'den, “I hadn't thought of it that way..” V'den hadn't thought about money since she had been a young drudge, envying and hating the wealthy holders and their pampered, endlessly crapping horses... runners. She had learned that, with Suuyeth, she was richer than any of them. And besides, power did not necessarily require money, and V'den was... had been... comfortable. The jump through time had changed things. “But it might be more trouble then it's worth to bring in nests of flits... Can you imagine -” she said, daring to voice her opinion, “What the holders would say if suddenly everyone in their realm could have access to one of these?” She stroked the egg, “Or if this one turned out to be 'higher' than blue?” Suuyeth's attention was thoroughly taken by the children, but he looked up at Banneth's announcement. he commented, V'den looked over at him.
“Apparently.” V'den said sardonically, “This is going to be an eventful party.” She was reluctant to go, however...

Re'ka considered the idea for a few moments before nodding decisively and heading over to Ra'fe. Pycath passed to Banneth, now paying rather more attention with a contest of strength in the offing. They were a small group and so every member needed to be strong.
"What's happening then?" Re'ka asked of her former mentee as she drew near, offering a friendly smile and a nod to the islanders too.

. > Banneth settled into the sand giving a soft huff of amusement, as if fresh power snow had been tossed up. he said simply and wiggled settling in deeper. He was not getting out. Ra'fe gave a fond push back and nodded at Re'ka, standing up to be polite. "Captain Natai, this is Re'ka." He introduced them, "Re'ka this is Captain Natai, she is in charge of the islands military which probably makes her more of a commander but we haven't got that far yet in explaining ranks." He stretched slightly and rotated his wrists. "She doesn't believe men fight and wants me to try her... thought it might be best if someone was here to spot watch that I understand."

Aulani took a moment to process this, before conferring with Natia again. “Until you… submit? That’s the right word?”
“Well, you couldn’t hunt with it…” M’ere said, considering. “…but who has time for Holder games like that, anyway?” She grinned, clapping the other rider on the shoulder. “‘sides, we’re Riders. Money is irrelevant to us, right? All about saving the world, twice a sevenday, tickets extra and at your own risk”
Tarazeth asked lightly, passing the details onto her rider, who grimaced before her face lightened up again.
“Did you hear that?”

"Yield is more correct, but submit works." Ra'fe considered the proposal looking over to Re'ka. "Thoughts?" He questioned, fingers tapping slowly against his wrist, debating. "With weapons or without?" He questioned Aulani.
Banneth hummed slightly at the questioned and reached out to his rider and then back.

Re'ka shrugged expressively. "Lady's choice," she nodded to Aulani, "but as for my thoughts - and I don't say this a lot - be sensible. If I have to go tell O'ail you killed one of our hosts, or got killed, or lost a limb, I am not going to be a happy flitter."

"Understood," Ra'fe said simply and nodded at Aulani. "I am ready when ever Natai wishes the bout."

V'den and Suuyeth“Well, I suppose they wouldn't want a bluerider playing their games anyway, not one at my rank... but, if I was trying to be political or...” or spy. Or something. “It does mean I can't play their game...” Suuyeth delightedly relayed everything back to V'den, vibrating happily. Pets and fights and fun – who would have thought that it would all be so fun? He loved this trip! He loved the future! Oh what excellent stories he would have for everybody! “Yes! I am... hearing. About this duel...” V'den frowned, “Is it alright to do that? Here?”
