Cyn once again let out a small laugh at her comments. "True. You're lucky Mom is in the same house. If you tried to skip I'd have to get harsh on ya. A good yellin at motivates you well enough." He seemed to be speaking from experience and Syqvara could let her mind imagine just what he had been doing with his instructor. "Just because I've been training doesn't mean I'd let my sister cook after getting knocked out. Ya almost collapsed again just gettin off the couch. I got an archer's set of eyes ya know. I pay attention to the small details." Cyn sounded confident almost like he was bragging to the girl. Sure it was hard work, but Cyn enjoyed it none the less. It gave him an out, a way to focus his mind, better himself, and protect those he needed too. Entering the kitchen, Cyn stopped not sure what to even make tonight. He could cook simple things and prep others but their mother did most of it for them. If not her, Syqvara was the one to do it. "Oh? Maybe after you learn some things from me I'll go with ya. Would be nice to see new things. Maybe we can take this Chandra gal with us. I wanna meet your friends, since you've been makin em behind my back." Putting on a fake pout, Cyn turned to face his twin. "Your brother is out working his body to the bone and you're off growing up without him..." Trying to be as convincing as possible, Cyn tried to make his lower lip quiver though it would likely seem overly fake. "When did you become such a grown up? Next you're going to tell me there is a boy you like."

And here she scoffed. "I did not almost collapse." Sy brought her arms up and crossed them over her chest. The single long, flowing sleeve of her shirt seemed to cover both arms in this position. When she noticed how he had stopped and looked as if he wasn't sure what to make she smiled at him. "Steamed vegetables for me?" Oddly enough it was her favorite and simple to make. Since Cyn seemed set of doing the cooking then she'd make him cook what she wanted. Well, not make him but request it.

"You'd go to Jauhar with me?" Her eyes seemed to widen a bit as a smile took place. Syqvara seemed happy that he offered, it meant she didn't have to ask and feel terrible about doing so. When he called Chandra a girl, however, she practically broke out into uncontrolled laughter. What would her friend think of that? Then she turned red in the face as her twin said there was a boy she liked. Now in a coughing fit she'd shake her head and move to sit in a chair at the table. "Uhm, actually.. Chandra is a boy." And he was older than her.

The air around Cyn seemed colder all of a sudden and he visibly shuddered. Had he heard his sister correctly? This person she knew was a boy, and the mention of liking a boy made her blush. "You'll have to introduce me to this fine gentleman then. We have much to discuss." He tried to sound calm, but it would likely come out as something scary. "You said you wanted salad correct? I think I heard you say salad but I'm not sure." It was like a circuit in Cyn's brain had fried with how he was acting. Normally he'd be proud that Syq was going out and learning to be more sociable, but Cyn wasn't ready for the shock yet. She couldn't even hold a conversation with some of the locals without his help most of the time. Yet, she was talking to an unknown boy all of a sudden. Even going so far to borrow a book from them about the world outside. How Cyn wished for his bow at the moment, then he could focus solely on the shot. "Does mother know?" Taking a breath in through his nose and then releasing it through his mouth, Cyn tried to calm himself down. He'd repeat this a few times while his sister replied, stammered or whatever she could muster.

Introduce her twin? To Chandra? It took a moment for Sy to blink at that notion before she answered his question about what she wanted. "Steamed vegetables, Cyn." Still, when he asked her if their mother knew she shook her head. "No. I haven't told her about him or Dezani yet." The leafling didn't realize she'd let slip that she knew yet another person her sibling wouldn't know since they didn't live in the area either.

Taking a deep breath she'd focus on the floor in front of her. "I'm actually supposed to meet Chandra in a few days." It was to give his book back to him, as well as meet his family. Which scared her a little. Bringing her left hand up, causing the flowing sleeve to crumple down to her elbow, she'd scratch at the back of her neck. "Come to think of it.. Dezani and I are supposed to meet again soon too. He said he'd help me find a familiar." Which made her feel guilty that she'd not asked her brother to help her. But truthfully she had thought to, only she felt bad at wanting him to help her with everything when he was trying to train to be what he wanted to be.

"Have I done something to make you hate me Syqvara?"
Turning around Cyn began to prep dinner for the two of them. If all she wanted was for him to make steamed vegetables, then it was an easy task. All he'd have to do is prep the ingredients, cutting off their tops if need be and giving them a quick wash. "Did my constant absence because of training make you resent me? Is that why you've gone out and make friends with two boys? Am I not needed anymore? Have I become a burden to you..." All of this was between the sounds of prep work, the sound of things being cut, sounds of water being moved around, etc. As he worked, Cyn continued to take his deep breaths. His twin had hit him with blow after blow today. First she and the house were attacked, then she told him of her mysterious friends and their adventures. "Kids really grow up fast don't they Mother...is this how you felt when I told you I was training to be an archer?" He'd mumble to himself, not terribly loud but not a whisper either. Was Cyn a brother or Syqvara's father, it was hard to tell from how he acted. As he worked, Syq could catch glimpses of what he was preparing. There was a good assortment of veggies for her, though one in particular would stand out to her. It seemed Cyn had prepared a few carrots to be steamed, though it was unclear for who or why.

When he seemed to start asking her questions, ones that made her frown, Sy shook her head. "No. No, of course not!" She practically cried out at him, tears now welling up in her eyes. Did her twin really think she'd done something to deliberately hurt him? Getting up from her seat she'd walk over to her brother and wrap her arms around him in a hug. "It wasn't intentional, Cyn. I met them both my accident." Her voice was thick with sadness as she did her best to not fall into a complete sobbing mess.

"I just... I didn't want to be a burden to you. I know you have things you want to do and you are so much better at being part of the world than me." Her shyness did have its drawbacks. Actually it was a drawback. It hindered her quite a bit. "I don't hate my twin. I care for you and wanted you to be able to become an archer without having to worry about me." Then again, was that selfish of her? With a deep breath Syqvara clung to her sibling. "Will you really go to Jauhar with me?" Would it pull him away from his training? Could it ruin his chances of becoming an archer?

"You're an idiot. You, Mother, and the Bow are all I have left in this world. I refuse to give up a single one of them." His broken attitude cleared up for a moment, resolve strong within his voice. Much like the day he chose his future path. "If I can't do what I want while also protecting my dear Sy then I could never face father again. I have my Pride to keep you know." With her wrapped around him, Cyn really couldn't do much to return the affection besides pat her arms gently with the hand not holding a knife. Well there was a way, but he didn't want to scare Syqvara by slipping down out of her grasp and reversing the hold. "If you want me to go, I can speak to my instructor. I know the way he thinks and can come up with an excuse that will make him let me go. That is assuming you're planning on leaving soon. If not, then we can go when I am a full fledged archer." With his free arm, Cyn tried to pull his sister's arms off him so he could go back to cooking. "Accident or not, I want to meet these people. If they are bad people I will make sure they don't hurt you. Oh, and as punishment for hiding these things from me all the carrots are yours tonight. You're eating every last one of them too. Think of it as your training already starting."

She leaned to the side a bit so that she could look at his face. "You can't give me up. I'm your twin." It was here that Sy gave a grin before she let go so that he could go back to cooking. The carrots hadn't escaped her notice, but she was hoping they were for him. So when he told her she had to eat them as punishment she wrinkled her nose up a bit. "I think it's you who hates me." No farther complaint came from her though. Even if she didn't like the orange vegetable she would eat them.

Moving back to her chair she'd take a small moment to think things over. "If you meet Dezani you have to be nice. He's worse than me when it comes to talking to others." Which would explain why she found him to be a friend. He didn't laugh at her stutter or even get impatient. "He only talks by writing in his journal, so you have to read what he says." Last thing she wanted was for her brother and her friend to not get along. Did Chandra have any quirks? None like that but he claimed he was the mean one. Sy hadn't seen him be mean so she couldn't be sure if it was true or him just trying to be distant with her.

"If I hated you, I wouldn't force you to eat the carrots. They're good for you, and the people that helped the earth grow them would be sad to hear you don't like them." Was it wrong to use guilt to make Syqvara eat the orange root vegetable? Probably, but Cyn didn't seem to mind. ]"When I am not nice Sy? I seem to remember always talking for you. So I think I'm well versed in speaking to your kind. Though reading a journal constantly is bit annoying." With a shrug, Cyn began getting the fire ready so he could actually steam their meal.] "Leave it to my sister to meet someone more socially awkward than even herself. What of this Chandra person? Do they speak only through drawings or dance? It's not a far stretch to be honest." Now he was teasing her, trying to keep the conversation going so he could figure out as much about them as possible beforehand. "Anything else you been hidin from me? Should I not mention any of this to mother."

She made a face at his mention of carrots. Good for her or no she didn't like them. "Fine, I'll eat them. If your bow goes missing it's not my fault." Wrong of her to threaten the bow. It was her twins favorite thing. But she grinned as she watched him, waiting to see if he would glare at her. He of course would know she'd never take it, but the jest was still there. "Dezani is really nice and I like his handwriting, so reading it isn't so bad." A shoulder lifted slightly as she mentioned the leaf boy. "I promised him I would show him around the next time he visits." Her generally helpful nature shined through with that statement.

When he started to tease about Chandra, Sy rolled her bright green eyes. "No, he speaks all on his own." No stutter like her either. With a deep breath she'd lean back in her chair and watch her brother cook. "He says he is the mean one in his family, but he seems very nice to me." Apart from their initial meeting when he'd snapped at her for intruding, but that had been her fault. "No, nothing else." As for telling their mother, well she would prefer that he not but it wasn't a life or death thing. She mostly wanted to be spared the embarrassment of twenty-one questions by her mom.

"I wouldn't suggest touching the bow. It's not mine you know. I'm not allowed to have one of my own yet. The one I use is an old decrepit extra I was giving to practice with. Still, my teacher is protective of what is his." Cyn's teacher was much like him in the fact they had few things they held precious. One of which was the instrument of their trade, the bow. Cyn placed a pot semi filled with water over the flames and then set a smaller pot to rest on it's inside. The second pot was just big enough to rest on the edges and hover over the water. The second pot also had small holes in it's bottom so that the air and steam could go through it. Placing a lid over the two pots, Cyn would seat himself across from Syqvara. "So it's okay to tell mother her daughter has not one, but two boyfriends? Oh, and that she might be heading out with at least one of them?" A sly grin parted the leaf male's calm features. "Especially a self proclaimed 'mean' one?"

When Cyn claimed that Chandra and Dezani were her boyfriends, Sy's face turned a brilliant red and her mouth fell open. With wide eyes she stared at her sibling for a second before she gathered her thoughts and sputtered a reply. "They are not! They're just friends! Nothing more!" Even the thought of something more made her blush seem to increase. Now her twin had embarrassed her enough that she covered her face with her hands. "How could you even... How could... ahhh!"

Cyn chuckled lightly to himself when he saw how Syqvara reacted to him calling her friends her boyfriends. He kept the outward chuckle to a minimum to not offend her much, but his gut was contracting like mad. Sy was too easy to tease, and Cyn wouldn't be surprised if her friends also teased her. "Wasn't quite life defending denial, but you seem adamant that they aren't your boyfriends. Got someone else in mind? Any guy you like has to be approved by me ya know." Leaning forward, Cyn let his face rest in his hands as his elbows steadied themselves on the table. "I think I'll mention this to mother just to see her reaction. Will she faint or will she be proud of our little Syq." Laughing to himself again he'd give his twin a quick wink of his right eye before getting up to go check on their vegetables. Changing the pace of the conversation Cyn would ask an out of place question. "How steamed do ya want em?"

Oh how she wished she had something to throw at her twin. Sy was still very red in the face as her hands came away. "I don't like anyone that way, Cyn. Chandra and Dezani are just friends." With her right hand she began to pick at the flowing sleeve on her shirt. "Besides, Chandra already has a girl he likes." Of the two males she called her friends she seemed to be a bit sweeter on the older one. Sy was sure it was just because he let her borrow a book and promised to bring his sprite to meet her next time. Then again, Dezani did say he would help her to get her own familiar. Gah! Her cheeks grew even warmer. Now she was thinking about actually liking them and it was her brothers fault. "Not very steamed. And you are absolutely horrible. Now I will be nervous all over again when I see them." She sighed and leaned forward so that she could rest her head on the table.

"That'll teach ya to hide things from me. That and ya can't blame me for bein curious. Father isn't here to do these things, so I get the honor. Gotta make sure people treat my twin sister right." Lifting up the lid on top of the pots, Cyn let the rush of steam billow out before looking down inside. He figured they should be about right by now. Grabbing a thick cloth, Cyn wrapped it around the edge of the smaller pot and lifted it upwards out of the larger one. He'd let excess condensed water drain before moving the smaller pot over the counter. Giving the pot a quick shake to loosen the vegetables, he'd then grab a larger spoon and begin to plate their meal. Contrary to what Cyn had said though, he took some of the carrots for himself. She had suffered today, both at the hands of strangers and at his constant teasing and questioning. So he decided to let her off just a bit, though not as much as their mother would've. Grabbing two wooden forks Cyn would bring the plates to the table. "Head off the table Syq. Food's ready, and if ya want anything else you're cookin it."
