Kintori paused heavily in her tracks at the rather somber, serious tone Skaalbjorn had taken on. She wasn't facing him as he spoke, so he was unable to see the way her eyes widened at his comment. Until she turned around, at least. Shifting her body she turned to face him, closing her eyes for a bit with her eyebrows furrowed. Well, as far as new friends went, he had dropped the biggest bomb she'd ever heard. "You, ah... Kalona blood?" Her gray eyes scanned his wings, only now noticing the leathery look and the fact that they were tipped in what looked like talons. How could she not have seen that before?
Lowering her nose a bit, she took a breath, her gaze rising to his Unicorn horn. Skaal, part Kalona? What an odd combination. "Well, I do feel quite safe with you. As long as that's your only... ah, inherited habit, I don't see why that should bother me." It was an honest answer, despite of the rather queasy look that had taken over her face. Then, a rather alarming thought took her over and she glanced back at him. "It's not... it's not our meat you hunt, right?" It seemed like a silly question once it was out there, but even though she felt completely at ease around the stallion, that didn't mean everyone felt that way about him. And you never could be quite sure with Kalona. At least, that's what she'd heard. Never had she encountered a pureblood Kalona before, and she absolutely had no desire to do so now. It at least calmed her nerves to hear that his herd mates were more, well, normal.

Her posture told him everything. He had scared her significantly with his comment, but it had to be said. He'd recently lost a very good friend because of his blood and because he forgot to tell them. His face grim he said, "Yes, I am of their blood. My father was a half breed." The word father had a venomy sound to it. He visibly flinched when she asked if he ate Soquili meat, "No! No... I, just, no..." He looked out of the cave entrance, "Rabbits, fish, deer, things like that are what I eat. I would never harm another Soquili for food..." He hated himself for what he was and hated having to tell others about it. Why couldn't his mother have realized what his father was...? He was suffering for her sins. A sigh escaped his lips, "I am sorry for dropping that so suddenly on you but I dislike hiding things..." A hesitant smile, "Do you still wish to travel my route with me? I would understand if not..." He was giving her permission to walk away if she liked. Outside the rain trickled to a halt and the sun came out from behind the clouds.
Ruler of Everything Sorry for the bomb of his Kalona blood... He had a bad experience with a previous traveling companion when he waited to mention his blood... Lol!

Hearing the way Skaal spoke of his father immediately soothed the mare's risen concerns. She nodded her head, understanding the strangeness that could exist within some families. Even her own "family" had some weirdness to it, even if it was much milder than that of Skaalbjorn's. Kintori started towards him as he answered her question regarding Soquili meat. After the way he spat on his father it seemed ludicrous, but had seemed necessary in the moment. Either way, his answer satisfied her to some extent. Although it did give her an odd, imagined metallic taste in her mouth. She'd always hated the taste of blood, having once in a while clumsily stumbled and caught the inside of her mouth between her molars. Never was a pleasant experience, and so she couldn't fathom tasting it on purpose. But she was trying to understand. The temperament of this stallion was nothing like that of any Kalona she'd heard tales of. Could she really fault him for his blood?
Continuing towards him, she could see the worry in his eyes even as he offered a hopeful smile. It was then she realized that in admitting his ancestry was a huge thing for him. Clearly he was concerned, not desiring in the slightest to lose a new traveling companion. Kintori's gaze softened as she walked forward, stopping just short of him. She offered up a smile of her own. "Your mother was right, you know. You are an honorable warrior. But... but there are some things that you simply cannot fight, no matter how hard you try." Hesitantly, she lifted her head and nuzzled him before quickly lowering her eyes, face gaining full pallor and even more blood than it had lost with his confession. At this point she hadn't even noticed the weather clearing up, as she had been desiring all along. "I would love nothing more than to get to see the sights of this land with you, Skaalbjorn." Wasteland Wyvern It's totally fine! I love that he has that extra dimension to him. And it could definitely lead to something interesting in the future. After another post or two, should we start a new RP for their venturing?

The silence after he explained everything was so thick one could cut it with a knife, but he waited until she came to her own decision. He would not move a muscle until... Her words caught him off guard but it was the nuzzle that made him loose his footing and he stumbled against the wall with a goofy smile on his face. His words when they finally returned to his numb mouth were soft, "Thank you milady, for understanding and accepting what I am. I do admit I was worried you would flee in terror..." He looked down and stepped away from the wall, "And personally I would not have blamed you. She had proven herself a mare willing to give someone a chance and he had every intention of showing her the best time on the patrol route as possible. When his eyes finally rose again to look at the pale beauty in front of him, his eyes filled with emotions even he had no names for. When she said she still wanted to travel with him it was a dream come true. "If milady Kintori would follow me we shall start our grand adventure!" He was hamming it up but the situation seemed to call for it. A rogue-ish smile graced his face, one sharp canine showing, and he beckoned her to follow him out into the sunshine.
Ruler of Everything Oh shoot! I am so sorry, I thought it was your post... >_< I think I am good with a new RP for the two after another post or two!

Although Kintori was quite uncomfortable with it, she really couldn't help but to trust Skaal. Although he had a loosely aggressive appearance and maintained Kalona blood (which, frankly, explained the wings), there was just something about him that was undeniably safe. Undeniably kind. Perhaps it was his eyes?
Kintori found herself lost in them before blushing and nodding feverishly. "I'm lucky to have such a great guide for such a grand adventure!" She remarked, her eyes disconnecting from his as he turned away. Lowering her own, she chided herself wordlessly for her silly words. It really was too quick to feel so connected to the stallion. But there was just something about him...
Her hooved started moving involuntarily, following Skaalborn out of the cave, into the growing sunlight. Let the adventures begin.
