The scowl Kale gave her read loud an clear: he did not like her in the slightest. Whatever, it was Kale's problem, not her own, and as long as Kale could work with her she didn't need to be buddy buddy with him.
Instead of really worrying about it, she picked up a long branch from the ground, tossing it back and forth between her hands, before deciding it was good enough to use to push around in the underbrush. As the group continued their way in, Andromeda looked around in pure excitement, soaking in everything.

"Lower? But Jacky boy, she wants it. She be givin me 'the eye'." He spoke quietly, only half paying attention to the hacking of the foliage. They had traversed this sort of brush before."The eye?" He snorted. "What has it gotten ye? Anythin?"He flashed a bit of a glare at his partner, but they both knew the answer. "...I bet its cuz of Kale." Scared to really warm his sheets after fighting against the rumor."What ever eases yer mind at night Cap'n."He'd play nice, for now. At least with out here in broad daylight. "Ye know, its mighty lucky of ye to be bunkin with Old Jack." No such luck out here though.

Her eyes flickered over to Black Jack as Kale mentioned him. "Aye, he be like a brother. A good listener and even better at advice. I see why he's the cap'n's right-hand." She was careful with her words, not wanting to leave even a hint of another rumor with this one.
She glanced at Kale out of the corner of her eyes, waiting for his next jab for her to deflect.

He sighed, reaching up with his hook to gently scratch his cheek. "Think I should return to my usual wenches? A mans got needs."His face twisted slightly in distaste as he hacked down a bush. "I couldn't care less 'bout yer 'needs' Cap'n, wit all respect.""Aye. Nice of 'im to take pity on ye." He spoke before spitting off to the side. As he hacked along, he was sure to only clear what would be beneficial to him, and not her.

Ugh, this guy was just a big fat baby. Really, he deserved all the s**t the crew was giving him. Bed wetter... How the hell could she get out of being paired with this simple-minded kelp-for-brain.
"To be completely frank, Kale, I don't care exactly how you feel about me. However, you read loud and clear that you find me a threat and don't enjoy my company. SO-" She cut him off before he could speak, then let a pause to eye him up and down. "If you care to put your petty distaste aside and work with me, I can promise the Cap'n will separate us immediately."

"Jacky boy! Come on. Wen yer wife was boinkin that red fella-"He hissed through his clenched teeth as the smile disappeared. "Right, right. Still avoidin' her eh? A'ight. Didn't mean to step on yer tail." He spoke dryly while angling right.Find HER a THREAT?! He opened his mouth for a seething slew of insults, but she was already talking again.
What she said was...interesting. He closed his mouth to think before responding. "...What ye be thinkin?"

A sly smile came over Andromeda's face. "All you have to do is look convincing and follow my lead." She glanced forwards to Darias to make sure he wasn't watching their conspire. Perfect.
She burst out into laughter, placing her hand on Kale's shoulder and giving him her best bedroom eyes. "Did they really? That's amazing!" And there went the flirt bomb.

He tried not to look sour after it, the nymph obviously hitting a sore spot. He hated talking about his ex...At the burst of laughter, he glanced behind him and raised his eyebrows. "...Speakin of cheatin' lasses."At first he wouldn't have given two thoughts about the burst of laughter, knowing that Andromeda was full of laughter. Much like himself. But when Black Jack mentioned it, he turned his neck. His eyes went straight to the hand on his shoulder, than her passionate gaze.
No....no no no no. Kale got further in one day than he did in three months?! WHAT?Follow her lead? With what? When she suddenly burst into laughter, he was almost startled. Why was she laughing? What? He stared at her with a bit of an open mouth before it clicked. He grinned back, and placed a hand on hers. "All from me of course! Yer lookin at the bravest 'rat on the ship!"...What....WHAT?! He grinded to a halt, confusing the two males who were directly behind him. Darias broke through them like a hot knife through butter to charge at Kale and Andromeda. "Look at ye two! Thick as thieves!" His smile was bright, but his eyes glittered dangerously. Kale dared move in on HIS Andromeda?

When the look of confusion came over Kale's face, she had thought it was all over. Thankfully, the bilge rat was smart enough to catch on and then play along. And right on cue, Darias was over in front of them.
"Cap'n! My thanks for pairing us together! I had no idea Kale and I were really so similar." She flashed the man a bright smile, locking eyes with him and watching him calculatingly. "One could call him a charmer! I'm so glad that he and I worked past that rough start." She gave Kale's should a squeeze.

It was at that moment when he realized just how stupid this plan had been. Darias glare was scathing. It was all he could do to weakly smile back, eyes flicking from Andromeda to the captain and back. This had been a mistake. A horrible mistake he now was too deep in to back pedal."Good, good!" His cheerful words a stark contrast to his cold gaze. "My plan worked. No need to be partnered up any more. Jack, switch with the lass here."Wait. Why was he getting punished by being put with Kale? The angel was dumber than a sack of potatoes.

Oh man was he mad.... it was almost comical. "Are you sure you don't want to let us bond any more?" She asked as she moved to switch places with Black Jack. Her eyes locked with her bunkmate, and they softened into an apology. She did feel bad for sticking him with ever-so-intelligent Kale... at least the guy was smart enough to walk and breath at the same time. She made sure to keep the look hidden from Darias, instead smiling brightly up at the captain.

He turned to her and just, simply stared for a moment. She was not this stupid, he knew. What was her play? "...No." He spoke rather flatly before turning to walk back to the front, not wanting to spend another moment with Kale. That angel would get it later alright. Half his intake of treasure from this trip? Gone.He didn't need to see that apologetic look to know exactly what happened. The captain was smart enough to know it as well, but far too angry to process it at the moment. He raised his eyebrows at her as they passed each other before taking his place next to Kale. Sacrificed him to save herself. She really was a proper pirate. She needed to shut up now! Before the Captain murdered him in his sleep! He smiled half heartedly before breathing a sigh of relief when he shuffled back, still swaying from his sea legs. Least he was with Black Jack. "Least we both traded up, eh Ol' Jack?"....Right. Both traded up.

Yeah she was going to have to make this up to Black Jack later. She owed him for having to make him put up with... Kale. Ewwwww.
"So what exactly should we be looking for? Anything above ground?" Lightly, she brushed her shoulder again Darias, trying to pull him away from how angry he was.

At another time he would have been elated with the little shoulder brush, but as it was a shoulder brush was even less than a hand on Kales shoulder. "A large rock." He spoke simply, slicing into the brush with more force than what was needed. Behind him, he could softly hear Kale chatter away at Jack, with the scarred male merely grunting in response. She got along with that? Really? Kale?

She watched as Darias hacked to pieces a poor little branch. Oh man, was he angry, like mega angry. Like a bunch of little hornets angry. She was going to really have to do some damage control later... would probably involve doing something mildly embarrassing like bringing the cap't something 'special' to eat in his cabin. Maybe she could find some fruit here on the island.
In her search for fruit in the tree tops, she spotted something greyish brown off to the side. "Sir?" She placed a hand gently on his shoulder to stop him and pointed off to the right side. "There's a helluva rock over there...."
