Neo & Nyx This all got out of hand so fast, just like it had back at the Guild gathering; in truth, Neo wasn't sure he liked the bipolar nature of these social interactions very much. Nyx and Rika both looked about ready to rip the Poochyena's throat out, and Q and Guile both looked just as fierce where they stood on the back lines. And that egg. Neo shuddered, stepping back from it as its aura actually became visible and crackled with sparks. What in the name of Arceus was wrong with that thing? Eggs weren't supposed to react to things, they weren't fully formed Pokemon yet, but this one literally radiated malicious intent. Nope, the Meowstic didn't want anything to do with it. With rapid pawsteps, the Psychic hurried to the other side of the table (conveniently also quite far from the evil egg) and stood between his allies and the Poochyena nervously. "Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa! Everybody just take it easy for a second!" If they fought in here something would definitely get damaged--not to mention it seemed like a few of their number were ready to take this way too far out of hand.
Whatever noble and pacifistic speech Neo had planned there wasn't one, he'd just been hoping the shock factor would be enough to stall for time was quickly forestalled when he heard the shift in the Poochyena's tone, and looked over at him curiously. So he'd been planning on eating the egg, but its sparks had thrown him off? The Meowstic almost felt he shouldn't have been surprised, considering just how odd the circumstances had been before their new arrival showed up, but it was still enough to earn the golden canine a look of bewilderment. "Y-You're hungry?" he asked, words filled with the confusion that was written on his face. "You know you could have just asked for something instead of barging in here, right? Hold on." The Psychic turned his gaze on Team Oddball and his partner, staring them down with the flat, apathetic expression that was trademark for his species but rarely seen on Neo himself--he only ever really used it when he needed to make a point, or prove that he wouldn't be questioned about his statements. "You guys sit back down. He's not a threat anymore so don't treat him like one." It was obvious enough to Neo that the guy had been poorly socialized, and probably grew up in a place where he had had to fight to survive: the Meowstic felt a pang of sympathy for their uninvited guest as he made his way over to the kitchen.
Nyx didn't move from his aggressive stance for a long time, even after receiving the direct order from his leader. It was inexcusable what the Poochyena had done, and Neo expected him to brush it off like it was nothing? That was not the way he handled these things--the Vulpix preferred to handle them in a way that was much more efficient...and permanent. But after an intense period of mental tug-of-war Nyx's rational side won out, and he gradually lowered his hackles, never taking his eyes off of the golden Dark Type. His posture appeared more relaxed, but he was ready to spring at any time, and his eyes were narrowed on the Poochyena even as he spoke to address Team Oddball. "Neo is correct, this Pokemon holds no threat to us. Your egg is no longer in any danger, so please settle yourselves. Perhaps we can pick up where we left off." His claws were itching to leave the Poochyena a reminder that he was not to be trifled with, but the Vulpix restrained himself as Neo had instructed. He turned to face Team Oddball, taking note of their positions. If any of them attempted to make a move on the Dark Type, he would restrain them by force if necessary: his partner had given an order, and he would see that it was followed.
Neo returned in a few moments, casting a wary glance at Nyx and the others before approaching the golden Poochyena and placing a plate in front of him. "Here, try this," the Meowstic told him, "It may not look like what you're used to, but I think you'll like it." They didn't have any meat at the moment, but their berry supplies were fully stocked and so he had brought the famished canine a plate of them to sample. Neo was no stranger to the carnivore type and their eating preferences, so he'd made sure to pick out the kind that was often so appealing to those who had a preference for meat. The berries he'd selected were savory and juicy in a way that made even the most strict of meat-eaters' mouths water; something he'd learned when his parents had educated him on the many and various properties and types of berries before he'd set off on his journey. With any luck, it would help to stave off the Poochyena's hunger--at least enough to keep him from hunting down any normal eggs that didn't have the capacity to defend themselves.

Guile relaxed upon seeing that the situation was under control, and after a moment more of glaring at the Poochyena, so did Rika, the Mawile's aura of rage fading after a moment. Still, she didn't seem terribly pleased with his continued presence - If the shiny canine tried anything, he'd no doubt find himself defenestrated at best and horribly maimed at worst. Similarly, the dark aura around the egg vanished abruptly as it stopped sparking, giving off the impression that it was all a trick of the light. Q, on the other hand, returned to being his usual cheerful, hyper self so quickly that it was surprising he didn't get whiplash. "Okey-dokey! Hiya there, I'm Q, leader of Team Oddball! The snarky Sableye's Guile, the scary one's Rika, the egg is Stormageddon, Dark Lord of All!" And cue dramatic thunder, though Q didn't seem to notice it. "The quiet Meowstic is Neo, and the Vulpix is Nyx! You said earlier that name is Gil, right? Nice to meet you, Gil! Wanna be friends?" Q's view of the situation was rather simple: when this new guy was trying to eat Stormageddon, he was an enemy. He was no longer trying to eat Stormy, ergo he was no longer an enemy, ergo he could be a new friend! ...Yeah, not necessarily the most realistic worldview, but then Q never seemed to be on the same page as the rest of the world. At that, Guile turned to stare at his "glorious" leader; he was seriously going to forgive the guy just like that? After a moment, the Sableye just gave up and reverted to his default reaction: roll with it.

Gilded
The Meowstic's defense of him went largely ignored and the pup continued to stare at the ground in a dejected manner up until the psychic turned to address him. "Yes, ruff. Hungry, ruff." His tongue stuck out between his crooked teeth and he watched Neo speak to the others and then roam off to some other room with wide-eyed interest. Was the cat going to get him food? Just like that? The shiny Poochyena had never dealt with something like that before. He had joined the guild because it was large and he felt that finding food would be easier than it had been outside in the hostile territories, but to have other Pokemon deliberately give him food? That was just baffling. Gilded rose to his paws at the Meowstic returned and set the plate down before him, while generally a carnivore he did also eat other things that really didn't fit into the 'meat' category. Leaning forward he placed a paw on the edge of the plate, causing it to tilt up and spill most the berries onto the floor; not that being on the floor put him off from eating them. He opened his mouth wide and began to gnaw voraciously on one of the larger berries, biting it in half and making quite the mess on the floor and around his muzzle. By the time he cleaned the plate both he and the area around him were stained with varying colors of juice. His equally purple stained tongue licked around his maw and he glanced over to Neo and then Q who had begun to speak as well. Names. He was saying everyone's names. "Gil yeah, ruff. Short for Gilded, ruff. Friends? No eat friends, ruff? No eat." The dog nodded his head along, accepting the friendship and explaining how he viewed it in simplest terms. They were friends now. He wouldn't try to eat them then. Turning to Neo the pup felt he owed some sort of thank you for the food and as he was uncertain exactly how to phrase such terms he opted instead for the natural Poochyena method of 'love bites' and closed his mouth around one of the Meowstic's tails before shaking his head violently from side to side. Fortunately the 'love bites' had no real force behind them and he didn't clamp down with those dangerous looking teeth of his.

Neo & Nyx Neo flinched visibly at the sound of thunder, beginning to wonder if no one else could hear it. He was used to being able to hear things other people couldn't but come on, really? This was like the tenth time and no one else was even remotely perturbed--he was starting to wonder if he was going crazy. At least the Poochyena seemed to be enjoying his meal, that was something; the poor guy must have been starving he devoured it all so fast. He caught Nyx staring darkly at the mess on the floor out of the corner of his eye, but the Meowstic decided to ignore it--the Vulpix had respected his wishes so far, and he had to trust that the Fire Type would continue to do so.
Glancing back at the Poochyena, Neo listened to him speak attentively. It didn't seem like he had the best grip on language, more evidence to support his assumptions about the Pokemon's background, but he smiled contentedly to hear the Dark Type's efforts. "Gil then, good to meet you." His tone was cheerful as he breezed over the fact that their initial introduction hadn't been strictly speaking "good" at all; best to let bygones be bygones when it came to situations like these. Gilded had agreed not to eat them after all, which had to count for something. The canine approached him as though he wanted to say something, so Neo refrained from continuing the conversation to allow the pup to speak; the sudden "bite" was completely unexpected. He flinched with surprise at first, but quickly began to giggle at the peculiar sensation of his lower tail being shaken about by the smaller Pokemon. "H-Hey, that tickles!" he said, his upper tail swishing back and forth in response to its companion's motion.
Nyx, meanwhile, was two seconds away from biting down on the Poochyena in a far less pleasant way. If his reaction had just been a bit faster when Gil had bit his partner he could have called it an accident, but now he was forced to sit and watch this peculiar display as though everything was fine. It was not. With a sour expression, the Vulpix picked up the Dark Type's plate from the floor and placed it on the table so it wouldn't be at risk of being trod upon by the next unlikely visitor to show up. The Fire Type breathed in slowly and deeply, forcing himself to at least appear to be on neutral terms with the situation. He didn't speak a word as he watched the situation continue to unfold, not certain he'd be able to restrain his anger if he failed to hold his tongue.

Judging from the look Rika was giving the half-feral Poochyena, she was about as happy with the situation as Nyx was, the Mawile's false-mouth twitching slightly - almost as if restraining the urge to bite Gilded. Guile, on the other hand, was a lot calmer about it - after all, one of his more friendly contacts gave far rougher greetings than that. Although... "I think there's a bit more to friendship than just not eating someone." That aside, he turned to stare at Stormageddon suspiciously, having seen the aura of darkness it had been emitting earlier. After several moments of no activity from the egg, he returned his gaze to the scene before him, already making bets with himself about how long it would take for Rika and Nyx to snap and which would do so first. Q, of course, was completely oblivious to his compatriots' thoughts, instead beaming. "Yay, new friend! I promise not to eat you either! ...Well, technically I'm not a carnivore, but still." He then watched Gilded's little thank-you method with interest, idly wondering whether he could grow a tail - that looked like fun! In fact... "Hey Guile, do you know where I can get a tail? Preferably something long and fluffy?" Guile shook his head in amused exasperation, guessing the eccentric albino's line of thought. "No, you may not attempt to give yourself a tail just so you can see what having it grabbed and shaken around feels like." Q pouted and returned to watching Neo and Gilded. Since everyone's attention was on Neo and Gilded, they completely missed the quiet cracking of Stormageddon's egg as it hatched, a little black Pichu with yellow-tipped ears tumbling its way out, looking around curiously with blood-red eyes as more ominous thunder occurred in the background. The newly born Stormageddon then toddled his way over to Team Oddball, climbing up on Q's head to get a better view of what everyone was staring at... though if Neo looked closely, the Psychic-type would no doubt be able to see the malice hidden in the adorable little Electric-type...

 Gilded & Valentine
Gil released the Meowstic in favor of turning back to the plate and he set to cleaning it with all the diligence and care his mother had when she once groomed him so long ago. That didn't make it any less messy and when he had finished for real this time he turned to track his berry stained paws about the room to explore. His stomach was full and the Pokemon in the room, to his knowledge, were not hostile; as such he was now nosing about in every corner and under every bit of furniture until he finally settled himself on the plush couch furthest away from the egg that had made such a dreadful sound. Once he was comfortable the Poochyena began to lick his paws, disregarding the stains he'd already left on the sofa in his wake. After a moment of sloppy noises as he lapped each golden toe he looked up and gazed about at the other Pokemon without any fear, even as he noticed the dark looks being cast his way from the Mawile and Vulpix. Prey Pokemon didn't scare him. "What pack you all in, ruff? Gil is a mercury!" "It's pronounced mercenary." Hovering at the door with a look of horror slowly falling over her face, was a small Noibat wearing a pink bow. "Oh Arceus, Gil...what did you do?" "Gil hunting, ruff! But egg makes zaps so Gil no want eat it, ruff!" "Oh Arceus, I'm so sorry for him! He's not...he's uh....he's sort of wild..." The Noibat eyed the berry mess that tracked around the room and eventually lead to her companion laying on the couch. "I'm so sorry!" The tiny dragon seemed on the verge of tears and she refused to look at her Poochyena partner as he waddled over and barked at her cheerfully, oblivious to both her distress and the trouble he was causing.

Neo & Nyx Neo's eyes widened in response to the quiet crack of the eggshell, turning his attention from Gil just in time to spot a Pichu fall out of it without ceremony. The Meowstic barely noticed when his tail was released (a dark, juicy stain now smeared into its usual white), too preoccupied with the newborn Pokemon that clambered onto Q's head, its black form a sharp contrast to the Elgyem's albino figure. Neo swallowed nervously as he felt a chill run through him, the piercing red eyes meeting his as thunder echoed once again, and he pointed up at the baby Pokemon weakly, trying not to cringe from the negative energy it was radiating. "I...um...ah..." searching for the right words, the Psychic gestured at the Pichu to try and prove his point. "C-Congratulations...?" he said uncertainly, trying to decide whether the miracle of birth outweighed the malice of the creature that had just been born. He hardly noticed Gil's question, too preoccupied with keeping his eyes on the tiny terror to recognize the mess the Poochyena had made. The sound of yet another Pokemon joining into their little soiree however, caused Neo to jump, spinning around to face the Noibat with surprise. Just when he'd thought things were starting to calm down a bit, they'd managed to stir themselves up again a moment later--this was definitely going to be a recurring theme, wasn't it?
Nyx deliberately refrained from making any motion whatsoever as the Poochyena brushed past him to lick the plate clean, not even breathing as he followed Gilded's every move with impassive eyes. Each new pawstep left more chaos in its wake, prints and stains all over their new home, but the Vulpix said and did absolutely nothing in response to the growing list of offenses being committed by the Dark Type--he didn't need any more reason to loathe the dog, Gilded had made quite certain of that the moment he'd entered the room. The only thing that did win a reaction from the irate Fire Type was the appearance of the Noibat at the door, which prompted a look of dark amusement; it seemed he'd been right in expecting still more arrivals to come. "Ah, so this creature is yours to look after?" Nyx spoke quietly, his expression quite unreadable as he took stock of the Dual Type's features. At least this one had the decency to recognize what had been done here.
Neo shot a desperate look at his partner, perturbed by Nyx's lack of propriety toward their latest guest. Normally he was so good about this sort of thing: what about Gilded's mistake had prompted this sort of reaction? "Forgive my partner, he's just in a bad mood," Neo said, trying to breeze past the Vulpix's comment as best he could. "You don't need to apologize for Gil, he just got a little too...excited about finding himself a meal. We took care of that though." The Meowstic smiled, expression revealing only a hint of how overwhelmed he was by the presence of so many new faces. "Anyway, he seems nice enough, and we're friends now so..." The remark was amusing, prompting Neo to laugh in spite of himself--they were friends by Gil's account anyway, even if it wasn't quite that easy. "Speaking of," he added, glancing at the Poochyena, "Nyx and I are members of a Rescue Team." Raising his gaze to meet the Noibat's he smiled reassuringly. "By the way, I'm Neo and my partner's Nyx, the Vulpix over there: we're Team Essence. The other four are our friends from Team Oddball." Knowing Q, he'd be eager to make their introductions for himself, so the Psychic left the rest to his guests.

Q blinked at Neo's seemingly random congratulations, looking up on his head at the newborn black Pichu, somehow completely managing to miss the pure evil the infant was radiating. "Stormy! You hatched! ...And took your first steps, too!" he cheered. Stormageddon blinked, looking down at the Pokémon he'd climbed. This one seemed rather familiar... in fact, he could've sworn he'd heard that voice before, asking him his name. Ah... this must be his parental minion. Now what was the word for a male minion of that type again? Oh, right. "Daddy-chu." Q beamed at the tiny psycho. "Your first word, too!" Then he noticed the Noibat come into the room. "Hiya! I'm Q, gloriously glorious leader of the glorious Rescue Team that is the glorious Team Oddball! the quiet Sableye in the corner is Guile, the violent Mawile is Rika, and this ball of adorableness is Stormageddon, Dark Lord of All!" Okay, seriously, where was all that thunder coming from? "...But you can just call him Stormy!" Said tiny terror was currently staring at the Noibat and her partner with a calculating expression, evaluating if they were worth taking on as minions or if he should just kill them when it was convenient. After a moment, he decided to let them live for now, turning to similarly regard Neo and Nyx, the little furball of concentrated evil scrutinizing them. Rika's glare had softened slightly at the Noibat's apology, instinctively glancing over at Q; no doubt she was remembering similar incidents where she ended up having to apologize for something her friend had done. Similarly, Guile glanced between the duo before him and Q, no doubt sympathizing with being the only (relatively) normal one on a team and having a weirdo for a partner. Q blinked, noticing his friends' stares. "...What? Do I have something on my face?" Then he remembered the Pichu on his head and amended, "Besides Stormy, I mean?" His friends just shook their heads in amused exasperation, turning back to Gilded and his partner, Rika speaking up. "It's all right; I can sympathize with having a friend who makes a mess of things." Of course, Q's messes tended to be more along the lines of the "what the heck just happened?" variety and usually involved large amounts of destruction, anarchy, and/or sheer absurdity... plus at least one tuba. He had this thing about tubas for some reason. Q blinked again at Rika's choice of words, tilting his head to one side. "Strange... I get the vague feeling that I've just been referenced somehow..." he mused airily.

 Gilded & Valentine
"I'm Valentine. N-nice to meet you all." The Noibat squeaked, ushering Gil forward with rapid flaps of her wings before scooping him up in her hind claws and hovering back up into the air. "N-noo, it's not okay and I promise I will come back to m-make amends once I deal with...with this!" She shook the Poochyena slightly for emphasis and he barked rapidly in her grip and wriggled about before she turned and zoomed out the door. "H-have a nice day!" Came the squeaking farewell as the duo vanished.

It had only been a short walk from where she was to Team Essence's room. She would have knocked on the door in an effort to be polite if not for the Noibat and Poochyena who passed her as she walked by. They were a strange pair, she thought briefly, but they weren't going towards the room she had just left so she dismissed them as just a pair of guests. She simply stepped part way into the room, partially due to her inability to knock while holding an infant, and looked around somewhat sheepishly. It was a little awkward to enter someone elses home this way.

Q perked up as he heard his team name, turning to see who was in the doorway. "Yep, that's us! ...Well, me, Guile, Rika, and Stormageddon, anyway. Neo and Nyx here are from Team Essence. So, what do ya need?" Then he paused, tilting his head slightly, though he was careful not to dislodge the black Pichu on his head. "...Am I in trouble for breaking that power plant? 'Cause I swear, it was all the Zebstrika's fault!" The Swirlix in Katherine's arms got loose at that moment, making a beeline for the fridge in its attempt to find sweets. Stormageddon turned to the newcomers, analyzing them carefully; he seemed rather startled when he realized that the little ball of fluff was only slightly younger than he was, and with so much potential too! Well, he supposed every evil overlord needed an apprentice... his gaze became calculating, the little guy trying to figure out how best to get his fellow baby to join the dark side. He seemed rather partial to sweets; maybe it would be best to whip out the secret dark-side-exclusive cookie recipe? ...Well, technically he supposed he'd have to manipulate the minions to cook it for him, what with his arms being too stubby to cook properly, but still.

Venari Katherine
Katherine wasn't exactly sure what to say at this point. She hadn't really thought this far ahead and it was a little hard to explain that she was fairly certain she had found a child in the middle of the city. Especially when they didn't know the child was even theirs. "No, no, um... It's nice to meet you all but I found this little one in the city. He lead me back to your team room and I found a broken egg there, so I think he's yours...?" She just barely managed to get the full sentence out before the little Swirlix managed to struggle free. She quickly chased after him, unwilling to let him run free and get in trouble so quickly after she had arrived in the room. He certainly wasn't getting into someone's fridge either, not without the permission of... Neo and Nyx, as they'd been called. She quickly scooped the little fluffball up and she ignored whatever protests he would attempt as she went back towards his team.

Surprisingly (or maybe it wasn't that surprising, considering who it was), the team seemed to accept that fairly easily, though Q blinked in confusion. "Eh? Strange... only egg I remember getting is Stormy's." Guile shrugged, piping up. "My guess? He was a gift, but he hatched before we could get back to find him," he guessed. Stranger things had happened, after all (cough-Q-cough). "...Though that does raise the worrying question of how some random person knew where our room was." Q nodded, not really paying attention to that last bit. "Oh... yeah, that's probably it. Well, thanks for bringing him over, pretty Kirlia lady! I'm Q, by the way - feel free to come our room anytime!" He then plucked the little guy out of her arms, beaming at the ball of fluff. "Hiya! I'm Q, and the little guy on my head is your big brother Stormageddon! I'm gonna call you Rush, cause you seem pretty fast... sorta like you're on a sugar rush. And you look kind of like cotton candy, which also causes a sugar rush - whoa!" The newly named Rush had stayed still long enough to hear his name, then promptly wiggled free and tried to search the place for sweets again, only to be picked up by Rika.

Venari Katherine
Katherine breathed a sigh of relief. It was definitely strange how easily team Oddball accepted what they were told but it was absolutely the truth and she wasn't willing to question such good fortune needlessly. If Oddball was willing to simply take what she said at face value she was more than happy to accept that. She didn't say anything for a moment, being left in a similarly awkward position as to when she had first endeavoured to explain the child in the first place. She simply wasn't sure where to begin; there were so many things to say and so many things she should have said were it not for the strange situation she had found herself in. She had more-or-less barged into a team's home without invitation or introduction and, though one of the owners was fine with it, the other seemed somewhat frazzled. She could hardly blame him. She would be too.
"It's nice to meet you all." I've said that already. Well, it didn't hurt to say it again. "I'm sorry for entering the room so suddenly but things were a little... out of hand." It was a bit of an awkward joke, given the fact that Rush had quite literally jumped out of her hands. "My name is Katherine, I'm the captain of team Venari."
It seemed kind of like she should say something else but she wasn't quite sure what to say. She simply stood as she was, her appearance having not changed since her time in the cafe.((I'll be leaving this here until Darky has the time to tend to it. You're free to reply Goblin but I just wanted to establish the basic relationship between her and your team for the sake of the chapter!))

Neo & Nyx Neo stared at Stormageddon when the Pichu spoke, before turning his head away quickly when the demon's eyes shifted toward him. The Meowstic planned on staying as far away from that Electric Type as possible, the others were fine but the Pichu's twisted aura made him sick to his stomach. Looking back to Valentine, the Psychic's face fell as she fluttered away, Gil in claws and clearly eager to get away from them. "Oh... Bye Valentine..." Neo said after her, though it was likely too late for her to hear him. He couldn't blame her for hurrying off of course, things did look pretty bad here, and Nyx hadn't helped matters... Making a mental note to talk with the Vulpix about it later, the Meowstic took a breath and was about to figure out where to go from here when yet another set of Pokemon walked in. By this point Neo almost felt like he shouldn't be surprised, but that didn't keep the look of amazement off his features.
Although the Meowstic couldn't seem to make his voice work, Q handled the matter perfectly fine, keeping Neo from making a fool of himself in front of their latest guest. Apparently Team Oddball had another newly hatched member, the fluffy little Swirlix that this Kirlia named Katherine had found. Honestly it was a little much for the feline to process, and he vaguely wondered if the appearance of strange eggs was commonplace around here as he went through the motions of introduction yet again. "Um...hey there Katherine. Like Q said, we're Team Essence. I'm Neo and my partner over there is Nyx."
The Vulpix was on top of the matter this time, his mood drastically improved with the disappearance of Gilded. "It's a pleasure," the Vulpix said, stepping forward and dipping his head to the girl. "Please, come inside. Our previous guest made a bit of a mess, but if you don't mind you're welcome to join us. We're always happy to get to know our co-workers." Nyx was perfectly willing to introduce himself to someone more civilized than the feral Poochyena, it was only beneficial to associate with as many of the other Teams as possible. It only bothered him that he couldn't clean up beforehand. "We were just having a chat over some tea." He nodded to the teapot and cups that miraculously hadn't been tipped over in all the chaos.
Neo had turned his gaze on Rush as the child wandered around and was foiled in his search for whatever he wanted time and time again. Based on the direction the little Fairy was headed, and the events with Gil minutes before, it didn't take long for the Meowstic to figure it out. "Oh!" Neo said, his thoughts shifting back into action when he heard Nyx offer Katherine a place at their table. "Yes, please feel free to join us! We'd love to get to know you too!" He said, sending a smile in the Kirlia's direction. She seemed like a nice person, to have looked after Team Oddball's infant for so long--that was the type of Pokemon it was always good to know.
"As for you..." he said, bending down to look at Rush where he rested in the Mawile's arms, "Give me just a second." The feline quickly slipped over to the kitchen, his berry-stained tail swaying behind him, and fetched a bowl that he filled with the sweetest berries they had: Fairies were always fond of sweet things, especially the little ones. Returning to the table, he placed the bowl in front of the Swirlix carefully. "Now take your time, okay?" he told the child, "We wouldn't want you to get a tummy-ache."
