Gale & Percy
Due to a small altercation upon meeting one another, the duo that formed Team Amethyst was late in arriving to the central hall. The Pikachu was a hefty sized fellow, calmly padding forward on all fours with his lavender scarf trailing the ground under him and his pale blue eyes set forward with a muted eagerness.
Atop his head a bright, yellow ball of angry fluff regarded the others in the room haughtily and unhappily. The Joltik scuffed his tiny legs indignantly atop Gale's head and hopped down to scurry off on his own way.
Gale watched him with a frown but decided not to press the issue. He had wanted to stick together as a team but Percy had other ideas.
The Pikachu shook his head slightly before padding forward to glance around at the assembled teams. They were quite the colorful bunch weren't they?
It seemed most the Pokemon present varied in some way or another and he found himself glancing around at the different species and representations of said species with an almost childish awe.
Gale had been fairly sheltered growing up, the guild was the first time he had really been out in the world to see things and as such he was not entirely sure of some of the names of some of the Pokemon he saw. All the same, it was an interesting experience.
Percival, meanwhile, had found himself a small corner to perch in; a string shot hastily sprayed to form a basket of a web that he now sat in. Suspended above the others the Joltik looked down on them in more than the literal meaning of the phrase, and simply observed.

Robin
Jessica & Tobias

Ten minutes early or five minutes late. Those were the only acceptable options; you were either early or you were late and always with intent in either case. In this particular situation, Jessica was late. She had never been in the old guild but she knew well enough what that sound meant from the stories and quite often it wasn't good. Being five minutes late was harmless if there wasn't a problem but if it was a true emergency then that was all the more reason to be a little slow... whatever possible emergency there could be, she wasn't keen on getting caught by the front of it. If something was attacking the guild, it was all the better if she could arrive late and strike something down in the chaos rather than attacked herself. She was a professional. She would fight for the guild. She would also keep herself alive.

Fortunately, her caution proved needless. She wasn't around when Veilmys spoke but it was clear enough that it was little more than a friendly social gathering. People had been trickling into the hall ahead of her and most of them had already begun to mingle one way or another. This was fine, she thought. Having a chance to mingle and meet some of her colleagues was a good idea. They were both her competition and her help, if she understood the guild structure correctly. Explorers would be the ones who would map out the areas and discover hidden places. Mercenaries would be the ones who would quell the storm. Her fellow treasure hunters would compete with her to an extent but they could also be worked with if it was necessary. The rescue teams... well, she wouldn't need their help, but it was reassuring to know they were there.

"Remember... Don't do anything that could get us into trouble." Tobias was somewhere behind her, having tagged along in perfect silence. It was disturbing; had she not looked back earlier she wouldn't have known he was there at all. Even as sensitive as she was to the tiniest of noises, his steps were as such that only the most perceptive of creatures would be able to measure them.

His only response was a simple "Of course." before he walked off on his own.

Jessica sighed. She really hoped he didn't cause any trouble, but... Well, if he did, at least it was Veilmys' fault and not her own. She couldn't be expected to control a team member this early on and if Tobias started with his hands again... well, it wasn't her who had let someone with such sticky hands into the guild.

With that... it was time to start socializing. Jessica scanned the room quickly to look for unaddressed individuals and went straight towards what she could only describe as a mammoth beast. The Pikachu was as tall as she was and a good half-again taller than most of his kind. He was also massive; his body was thick and solid, not from any sort of fatty tissue but purely from his own build. He was certainly a great deal heavier than she was. His greyed fur was possibly the least strange thing about him. She could really only think that she was glad he was on her side.

With that in mind, she walked straight towards him and extended her hand for a solid shake. She would, at the very least, try to put forward a strong grip to match Gale's own. "My name is Jessica, of the treasure hunting team Robin. May I ask for yours?"

Manji - Zack

Manji had just made his way inside the hall as the constant blabbering of his new partner got him distracted and made him loose track of time.He walked calmly towards an empty spot and leaned against the wall before getting a quick glance around the room, scouting the other guild members around

.Zack, the talkative scraggy, just followed him all excitedly and turned quickly to greet his fellow guild members as the passed by "Oh, hello everybody!",after then he continued following Manji and describing in an incredible amount of details his likes and dislikes as well as the reasons that bought him to the guild.

In respect to the assembling,Zack was now speaking with a lower tone but got interrupted by a sigh coming out from Manji's lips as he asked "Do you ever shut up?".

Zack stopped his chatter for a while and stared back at Manji, his eyes were full of a feeling of surprise.Manji thought that the Scraggy had finally noticed how annoying he was being and would finally stay quiet but, to his deception, Zack gave him a wide smile and said "Oh man.You almost got me there! For a second I really believed that you were mad at me.".As the seemingly endless talk started again,Manji frowned with a groan and face-palmed himself as he clearly had troubles dealing with his partner.

The duo hanged in there in what seemed to be some kind of a affection and hate mood as they waited for the others that were absent to come or maybe the introductions to start,if they already didn't, as they weren't sure about what was going on at all.

In the Mean time,Manji wondered how the hell could his partner speak that much without running out of things to talk about. They had met at just half an hour ago but the Scraggy didn't shut his trap at all at this whole time and he was just finally ending the description of his childhood.Internally,Manji prayed for someone or something to save him from that pokemon that seemed to be an expert when it came to the "Chatter" move.

Neo

Neo blinked in surprise as the Fennekin echoed his own thoughts with her question, wondering if they'd been written too clearly on his face. "I, ah, well... he said with a laugh, "I guess I thought it sounded nice. There's something about the word 'Essence' you know? It basically means the heart of something, what it fundamentally is, and I guess I wanted my team to be able to get to the essence of what we come across while working together." He frowned thoughtfully before adding as an afterthought: "That, and they kinda sprung the whole 'Team name' thing on me out of the blue, and said I had to make it up before I completed my mission. Since I was eager to get going I sort of went with the first neat idea that came to me." That just about covered it, he was pretty sure, but he supposed he should return the question. "How did you come up with yours?"

The Meowstic shrugged off the Fire Type's concern with a smile, although he was grateful to receive it now that she'd heard his tale. "Oh I'm fine," he assured her, "It was a bit rough getting through it while it was happening--I'm not really big on the fighting thing you see--but all's well now. I wasn't ready to go down that easily." He found it quite comforting that the Fennekin seemed to care so much, even though they'd just met; Neo could only hope that everyone else in the Guild turned out to be this friendly.

He listened to his companion recount her tale in interested silence, curious to know what other Teams might have gone through on their starting missions. Her story was rather different than his, but no less intense from he sounds of it. "Sounds like you had quite the adventure!" he said cheerfully, "I'm glad it all turned out well in the end." He smiled at her question. "It looks like we're the same," he replied, "Team Essence is a Rescue Team too." It was nice to know he had a friend in his sector--two in fact. "Ah, that reminds me," he said, eyes widening at his own forgetfulness, "I don't believe I got your names."

Erinn

The Paras made his way to the main hall uneasily, feeling the familiar jitters that came with arriving in a new place. This Guild was strange and unfamiliar, reminding him nothing of the old one; there were some similarities, sure, but it didn't "feel" right. The old Guild was home and this one? This was a place he'd come to out of obligation, and a sense of unfinished business. He couldn't let the ghosts of the past go, not in the way that the rest of his former Team had seemed to. He'd gone to visit a few when he'd heard the news, hoping beyond hope that they might feel the same desire to come back and continue what they'd had to leave unfinished so many years ago. None of them had taken him up on the offer. He didn't begrudge them for it, just as aware of past mistakes as they were, but he couldn't shake the feeling of regret they'd left with him. It wouldn't have been the same if they were here--all of them were older, wiser, with a greater understanding of the world--but it felt foreign and almost hostile without any of them by his side. He wouldn't have come here if he could help it, but he'd found himself here in spite of everything that told him to stay away.

There seemed to be some sort of commotion going on in the Guild's central hall, so Erinn followed the sound of conversation until he found the new Teams conversing there. By the Legends they looked young. The Paras stared at them from afar with glassy eyes, wondering if he and his Team could possibly have looked that young once. They must have, and yet it seemed so unbelievable. They had been no more than children, and yet the things they'd done in the name of their Guild... He shuddered at the thought of it, vivid flashbacks running through his mind. Erinn almost walked out right then and there, but caught himself before his cowardice got the better of him. No. No, the youth of these Pokemon, that was a part of the reason he had to stay. To make sure nothing could happen here like what had happened back then. The other part...well even he didn't know that just yet.

Erinn approached the crowd with hesitation, well-aware of the age difference between himself and...almost all of these Pokemon. Even the Guildmaster would be younger than him, being Solaris's son. It was odd to think that the Espeon was retired now, so odd that it was a bit unsettling to imagine it. For the first time in his life Erinn was feeling old, and he didn't like it. The Paras stood uncertainly on the outskirts of the group, trying his best to be as inconspicuous as possible. He was too nervous to introduce himself to anyone, so he just stood there, wrought with indecision. He'd brought himself all the way here, and yet he still couldn't commit to making himself stay or go.

Gale
Gale turned sharply as he felt eyes on him and found himself staring at a Charmander as she strolled forward with a confident grace and introduced herself. His mouth opened, soundless, as he quickly tried to orient his thoughts. He'd not been expecting to be approached, it had caught him off guard, but he recovered quickly enough. A genuinely bright smile crossed his maw and he extended his paw out to her clawed hand to accept the handshake, taking great pains not to make his grip too tight as he had a tendency to do.

"Hello Jessica, I'm Gale." The Pikachu paused briefly and then realized he'd not informed her of his team and group as she had for him, "Oh-I'm uh...captain of team Amethyst of the explorers group. It's nice to meet you.."
He let go of her hand, vaguely aware he'd been shaking it the entire time he'd sputtered about but his lopsided grin didn't fade.
"How do you like the guild so far?" He asked after a seemingly long pause, his words strained and carefully enunciated.

Silver
A sleek blue and silver form padded along with all the grace and fluidity of a Deerling frolicking through a meadow. While he was a fair bit taller than most and certainly older, he blended neatly into the small gathering of Pokemon due to his youthful air and charming smile. He'd been assigned a partner who had apparently wandered off and with a brief description in mind the Espeon was looking about for the Pokemon in question.
Upon spotting him a few light hops carried him over to stop directly before the small Paras with its nervous gestures and wide eyes.
"Well hello to you, small one. Might you be Erinn? I'm Silver, your new best friend!" His voice was a singsong of delight as he peered down at the tiny bug with his sharp teeth visible in a wide smile.

Robin
Jessica

He had a good, solid handshake to him and she was pleased to meet it with her own. He also had a bit of an awkward streak to him from the looks of it. He had an awkward sort of pausing and slowness to his speech. He was, in so many ways, a typical "gentle giant". She liked that. The only shame, she thought, was that he was on a team she was unlikely to be able to work with in the future. Explorers were of a very helpful sort to her work but while the two helped one another greatly, their cooperation was ultimately a distant thing. An explorer explored and then a hunter hunted. The two never really overlapped. That still wasn't a reason to be anything other than nice though, especially since he seemed like a nice kid himself. At the very best, he would be able to help refer her to some spots related to her expertise before the rest. At the very worst... Well, they could be good friends.

"I like it so far." Jessica paused to look around for a moment. "So far the management seems fairly competent, everyone I've met is reasonably nice and my partner is... quirky but skilled. The building is nice too, the stonework is really high quality." She gently scuffed the floor with her foot. It was really, really quite smooth. "I can only imagine the kind of favours the guild master had to pull in to get it done." A good, well-made building presented an important image to everyone who would walk through. It mattered a lot and it spoke volumes about the people involved that they had it made this way.

"What about you? How do you like it so far?"

Venari
Katherine & Arturius

They were late. They had been slow. Of course, they hadn't really realized they had been late because they hadn't really realized that they could be slow. The bell had been a source of great confusion, with an unclear intent and no warnings as to its nature prior. It had taken the pair time to head towards the main hall, time that stemmed from uncertainty that was only cut short by the gradual shift as guild members left their rooms and departed for the main hall. The pair didn't know what was going on. When they finally arrived at the main hall and found everyone talking, Katherine ended up being tugged backwards by the blade that hung from her waist.

"It would be to my preference if we were to refrain from identifying my nature needlessly in such a large crowd."

Well... Having a two foot long, proportionally gigantic sword probably wouldn't be any harder to explain than one that talked. "Alright."

With that little agreement reached, Katherine decided to mingle as best she could.

"Every step that I take is another mistake to you." ..

Rescuer ◥ Leader x Mᴏᴏᴅ: Serena - Happy // Salvatore - Quiet

►◄
▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬( Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ )▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬▬

Serena listened as the Meowstic had explained how he had chosen his name, what he was saying made plenty sense to her. That was a neat team name, and she could almost feel that meaning behind it that he had been explaining. It was defiantly a perfect team name, even if one that took a few seconds to think of. It explained the type of team they were on perfectly.

"That makes sense, I myself, I like the name. It has a nice ring to it. You can just kinda feel such a deep meaning to it, I see what your saying. And yeah, I pretty much had to do the same thinking of a team name quick to get started. I mean, thinking of a name would take forever. But I think thinking of one fast makes it seem more realistic, and like I think its best to use the first name you can think of, makes it seem more like the name was destined for you as weird as that sounds."
The Fennekin answered to her thought on his team name, it was exactly how she decided hers. Though she quite preferred to not take up so much time on thinking up a team name. Fast just felt more right to her as weird as that may sound. When he asked about her team name, she had to take a minute to think about how to explain it.
"Well, I just thought Halo was more like a term for an angel, which an angel does is like help others shine and just protect. I felt that would best describe the team I'd like to be apart of. Plus I like the way it sounds. Hay-lo. Its not spelled the way it sounds, I like it."
Serena listened as the meowstic had explained that he was fine after such an awful sounding mission, one just like she and everyone else had to go through. His mission began to sound like hers actually, the whole not wanting to fight was exactly how she felt. And it was possible to pass without fighting, you just had to be fast. The Meowstic seemed fast too, he may have been the same way, just in and out. She liked that he didn't back down, just as she had felt during her job.
"I'm glad your fine. Agreed, it was pretty difficult but nothings ever gonna turn out easy, not one where your trying your hardest. Just gotta keep on moving forward, no matter the obstacle. I didn't really want to fight either, but as long as you can slip passed and back, fighting wont be necessary as long as nothing happens like if you get stuck."
Serena recalled her mission, thinking back to when she had a tough time trying to return the bow, and trying her hardest not to actually fight back. She didn't like to hurt others, and she tried to avoid it as much as she could. She'd rather be helping, not hurting.
"Yeah, I guess we both did have quite a crazy job. Yess, we both made it out in the end, safe and sound and thats what counts. -- Ohhh! Were both rescuers? Thats so cool! Were like twinsies. We must have had nearly the same mission than."
Serena got excited after hearing he was of the same type of team. They both had the same mission and jobs to do pretty much, it was neat to meet another like that. But than he moved on to the next thought, there names. She had totally forgot to greet them with there names, she was so lost in the moment.
"Oh I totes forgot!! My name is Serena, and my partner here is Salvatore. What are your names?"
The small fox poked herself to explain she was serena, and pointed to Salvatore to explain that that was his name. She than continued to question what there names were, not really remembering if they had said there team or not, she totally forgot.

Team Catalyst
Members Present: Keivera & Arlyn
User Image

Back in the room shared by both Team Catalyst members, a very stern lecture was taking place. The, slightly older, and more responsible Keivera was trying to motivate her new partner. When the bell sounded, Keivera had tried to get the little Marill out of bed, but he'd flat out refused. She was going to try talking with him first, and if that didn't work, she was certainly capable enough to physically push him down the hallway."Arlyn, you aren't a kid anymore so you need to stop acting like one. Secondly, you signed up for this just like I did. Either you're willing to commit and do what is necessary for the job, or you need to tell Veilmys that you've reconsidered. If you do that though I'll need a new partner. Now, which is it going to be?"

With a groan Arlyn drug himself from where he'd been attempting to sleep. He'd stayed up most of the night, despite Keivera's polite reminders that they could be called for any reason at any time, day or night. The rude awakening this morning had been very rude indeed. His refined hearing made the bell's ring seem amplified to him. The bell was loud in its own right, however, coupled with extremely acute hearing was just downright painful."Alright...alright. Fine! I'm up..." Although he admitted it was quite begrudgingly. He had hoped to get a more laidback team captain, but instead he'd gotten Keivera. He'd known Keivera since he was young. They hadn't seen each other in some years though. She had always been the only one that could motivate him to do anything. Except now, Keivera didn't just have her words, she'd evolved into a Sawsbuck so now she had even more muscle to do it with. At first, he'd been rather excited to see Keivera again, however, at the moment he sure wasn't happy to see her. Having a deer stand over him and continually prod him with a hoof wasn't what he'd wanted when he first heard the bell, but he realized this was the direct result of his own actions. However, he'd never admit such out loud to anyone.

Pleased to see Arlyn finally stirring, Keivera smiled with a bit of amusement twinkling in her eyes. "Wonderful. Now, since we're extremely late, I'll let you explain to everyone why there was such a delay. Perhaps the embarrassment over your little tantrum will be a good reminder in the future. After all, this was only the first time that the bell's been rang. First impressions are everything, and you've not only made yourself look bad, but this reflects poorly on me as a leader as well. So, let's get going shall we?" With that being said she turned on her heal with a flick of her short tail, the viridian bow she'd retrieved just days earlier tied securely to it.

Arlyn felt bad now. He hadn't thought about how his actions would make Keivera look. Silently, he promised that he'd try not to reflect badly on his friend in the future. Without a word, he followed Keivera out into the hall to walk toward the meeting hall where the bell was. There was a small knot in his stomach now. He wondered what the bell had been rang for. He hoped it hadn't been for an emergency. If it had been, he was going to feel even worse.

As they neared the meeting hall, Keivera could hear all the chatter. "Sounds like we're in luck. It doesn't seem to have been anything important. Either that or they haven't started yet." Keivera wasn't mean, but she wanted Arlyn to think before he acted. That had always been a problem for him. She wasn't sure if she'd succeeded in making him think or not; maybe one day, perhaps she'd be able to get through to him.

Arlyn hoped Keivera was right. He hoped it hadn't been anything important. As they finally entered the meeting hall, Arlyn relaxed some and the knot in his stomach vanished. Everyone in the room - mostly anyways - was relaxed. There wasn't a sense of urgency, so that was a good sign. He smiled a bit. This meeting might not be so bad after all.

Neo

This time the Meowstic allowed Fennekin to voice all of her thoughts without interjecting, since it seemed like she had a lot she wanted to say. She was so enthusiastic it was hard to believe she'd been so shy at the start--maybe she'd just needed a bit of encouragement. He nodded along as she chatted, to ensure that she knew he was paying attention, but he didn't speak again until she questioned him directly. "Serena and Salvatore, good to know," he said, more thinking aloud than anything else. He focused his gaze on Serena once more when he caught on to her question. "I'm Neo, like I said before," he reminded her, "And my partner's name is Nyx."

Neo turned around, scanning the room for any sign of the Vulpix. There were a lot more Pokemon here suddenly, now that they'd had a bit of time to respond to the bell. He'd sensed the number of bodies in the room increasing of course, but his Psychic wasn't nearly refined enough to have realized how many there were. As he surveyed the group, he caught sight of a flash of white and blue, and nearly did a double take. Another Meowstic was here too, though she didn't share his coloring, as was the way with their species. He didn't have time to do more than give her a long look before remembering the conversation he was participating in and having to draw his gaze away, feeling his skin prickle with embarrassment. He wanted to talk to her--it'd been so long since he'd seen another member of his species--but he couldn't just ignore Serena and Salvatore. With any luck, maybe she'd noticed his staring and would come over of her own accord.

It didn't take him long after that to locate Nyx, deep in conversation with a Charmander. "Ah, found him!" Neo said, face lighting up. He backed up to stand next to Serena, so that he could point his partner out to her. "Nyx is that Vulpix over there. The one with the nine tails and the whitish-reddish fur." He was pretty hard to miss since he was so unusual looking, but not everyone knew the species of every Pokemon, so the Meowstic figured he'd cover the bases just in case. "We haven't gotten around to chatting much, so I can't tell you too much about him. We thought it would be better for us to split up for introductions though, so that we could meet more Teams." He glanced up at Salvatore and smiled. "Of course, I'm glad you two stayed together so I could meet you both. You'll have to come by our room and meet Nyx sometime!"

Erinn

The Paras nearly jumped out of his skin when the Espeon leaped in front of him, pressing himself back against the wall behind him with a squeak of utter terror. His heart was pumping so quickly it made him lightheaded, and he almost missed Silver's introduction entirely because of it. "S-Silver...? Erinn managed to get the name out even though his voice caught in his throat; his expression was torn between one of horror and dismay as he eyed the Espeon's teeth with a great deal of wariness. What did the Psychic mean he was his new best friend? Whatever he meant, it was probably a horrible idea. Bad things happened to the people he was friends with, though the same could be said for anyone who'd been a part of the old Guild. Also he wasn't quite comfortable with his "best friend" having such a terrifyingly toothy grin.

"But...why?" he asked, the question finally forming once he'd manged to calm his nerves a little. The Espeon's tone was friendly enough, if it just weren't for those teeth. "I am Erinn, but I think you might have me confused with someone else..." It was a pathetic excuse really, no other Pokemon there looked even remotely like a Paras, but he didn't know why the Espeon would be seeking him out.

Now that he was calmer, he was able to take a good look at the other Pokemon, even as he stuttered to come up with another (hopefully more convincing) excuse. The blend of silver and blue in his fur was familiar somehow, now that he thought about it. Erinn wracked his brain for some sort of explanation and happened upon the answer quite suddenly. "Wait--hold that thought!" he said, possibly interrupting the Espeon's explanation since he'd been too lost in thought to tell whether Silver had replied. "I think we've met before. Not directly, but I think I remember seeing you...back then." He couldn't bring himself to mention Arceus or any specifics of the ordeal that had brought about the initial fall of the Guilds, but the world-weary look in his eyes was one that only ever appeared on the faces of those who'd witnessed that event. He pressed further, just in case the Psychic didn't understand: "Are you...Silvertail?"

Viannxxxxxx -- xxxxxxBink

"A meeting?"

The Meowstic's ears twitched at the passing conversation throughout the halls after much confusion over the bellowing sound that resonated throughout the building. A meeting-- an introduction, actually. It was an area everyone collected into and socialized, he imagined. Maybe the leaders behind it all would be introducing themselves too, which he really wouldn't mind. It made sense, considering everyone here in a sense worked for them now. Viann stared vacantly down the hall in his thoughts as they grew ever more empty before finally returning to his team room to retrieve his partner. A Carbink, to be exact. Bink, he was originally and thoughtfully named was considerably smaller than he himself was. The species was... only a foot tall or so though you'd never imagine such a tale having one explained to you. It was a rock. You imagined a boulder as most rock-like species often were.

Their coming was later than he would have preferred, entering the large doorway with a sigh of relief. For the most part, everyone was here and socializing with the exception of a few other droplets leaking in much like themselves. He didn't mind-- Viann hated the idea of multiple eyes suddenly dropping on him in a large, quiet room; it honestly made his fur stand on edge and his otherwise sound mind fall into blank chaos. No one enjoyed such a feeling by extension of having a conscience. He hated it by extension of being a Psychic.
The Meowstic fixed himself upright and idle a short ways into the doorway, his hands clasped together before him as his eerie, Meowstic gaze covered the bulk of the members here. For the most part, no one here was any more regular in color than he was. That or they were fairly normal like Bink. Which... speaking of...

The rock beside him bobbed where it hovered, a light, metallic jingling sounding from the upper part of it's otherwise mouthless figure. "Sure, no one's telling you to stay here." Viann's shoulders shrugged as he dropped his arms to his sides. Frankly, he had no idea exactly what the Carbink ever said, he just had a general feeling, or direction being the more emotionally tuned type he was. Bink... didn't often make any noises of correction o annoyance, but when he did, at least he knew he guessed wrong. Otherwise he just went about his business.
Really, why was he always asking for so much-- they were equals; the team leader thing didn't really appeal to him.

As the tiny, fluffed up rock bounced into the room without direction or intent outside simply being here, The feminine colored Meowstic took a quieter route of stalking about awkwardly until someone came to him. Most everyone was in conversation, a bit intimidating, or a bit annoying, or so his first impressions told him of the latter given the general air in the room. He probably wasn't wrong, though.

Mercy - Peter

The Charmander sighed softly. "I'd be inclined to agree with you, actually." The Vulpix was definitely intelligent, and Peter appreciated it. He hadn't expected to find as many... Cultured (that was the word he was lookin for) Pokemon. It meant that there was potential for there to be more scholars instead of solely fighters and explorers, and that was surprisingly comforting. Peter knew that he would have to leave his bubble of security at some point. "It's risky to an extent. There is, of course, a risk of the partners loathing each other. But honestly, when you place two Pokemon together in close quarters for an extended period of time, and gradually the two will begin to lead more and more Pokemon, they should bond, if not slightly begrudgingly."

Not all teams could be based purely on differences, though. Veilmys wasn't an idiot and there had to be changes in the dependent variable for an experiment to be considered noteworthy. Peter paused for a moment, attempting to redirect his train of thought. Not everything could be looked at through a purely scientific lens- there had to be some room for emotions. Nyx was calmly stating that he was fine with Peter's sudden outburst. "Then I must thank you at least for listening, if an apology is unnecessary."

Peter worried his inner lip, glancing at the other Fire Type. "My meeting with Mercy was rather uneventful. I'm afraid that I made a mess of it- I was a bit caught off guard by her. By reading the texts that I had found, I had gathered that the Captains would also be unevolved by necessity, and I believe I implied that she must have lost her old partner." Peter sighed heavily. "She wasn't visibly bitter or injured by my crude comment, but when we found our way to our quarters she did appear to be rather... Enraged. It was somewhat startling."

This Luxio was definitely very socially awkward. Mercy watched with internalized confusion as Cimm twisted his mouth into something that was clearly meant to resemble a smile. The lighter Luxio nodded politely, trying to encourage him. He didn't look like the type to come out of his shell after just one conversation, but at least she could try. There couldn't be much harm that would come out of it.

"I mean, I was expecting it to be worse, I guess. My understanding was that there were more non-rookie teams floating about. Mercy paused, glancing down at her paws. "Maybe they're on missions or something. Still, it seems unlikely." Mercy listened attentively as Cimm continued to discuss how little he got along with Nuna. Hopefully she and Peter would have a less... Convoluted relationship. "I mean, hopefully she'll mellow out a bit. She's probably just excited- like the rest of us. I mean, it'd be natural for her?" She was spit-balling at this point, trying to justify the Aaron's actions.

Mercy bristled her fur at the notion of Veilmys trying to make them interact with everyone there. "That... That would be unfortunate. I hope that isn't what he meant- there are some people that I don't really like the look of." It wasn't that they were mean-looking, some of them just looked like they weren't completely there.

Venari
Katherine & Arcturius

Katherine's entrance into the room had been met with a pause of uncertainty. Arcturius hung from her back, immobile and inactive. The Honedge, by all appearances, looked like nothing more than a completely ordinary sword. He had requested his identity as more than an object be left unspoken which left Katherine in something of an awkward position: she had to decide what to do purely on her own. It had taken her a moment to settle on a course of action. She would approach someone else in the hopes that they would not pry too deeply into her "sword"'s nature, rather than wait to be approached. Anyone who came looking for her probably picked her out for, well, obvious reasons.

She ended up settling on a Scraggy and Pawniard pair. The way that the Scraggy spoke made him seem friendly even if she normally didn't like dark types. At the very least, he would be easy to talk to. With this thought in mind she approached the pair and introduced herself. "Hello. My name is Katherine, what are yours?"

Robin
Tobias

Tobias sharply and suddenly stood up on his back legs. He had been carefully mingling through the crowd (and keeping his hands to himself) when he spotted it. It was perfect. Each breath came faster and faster, shallower and shallower. His pupils dilated, wiping out the blues until they were almost perfectly black, shiny orbs. Instincts overtook him and his mere attraction quickly became an intense desire that he simply couldn't ignore.

Tobias ripped through the crowd, bumping into people as he went, until he got near his prey. With one sudden jump, Tobias was on top of Bink. His body ended up draped over the hovering creature, his front claws and his back claws scrambled ceaselessly in order to get a proper grip on the little creature that he wanted so desperately to claim as his own. It was so shiny. So round! He needed it.
