This time Hematite wasn't quick enough to dodge. In moment she was frozen solid, and drifted down to land on the field below.

Lenore nodded to herself as she saw the haunter was frozen. "Now use Hex!"
Jin-Gitaxias pulled himself fully together and lifted his arms in front of him. A dark cloud drifted forward, wrapping around the haunter.

(Ah, sorry about that. Fixed.)
Perhaps the cloud was having trouble seeping through the ice. Perhaps Hematite was resisting it through sheer force of will. Regardless, she somehow took no effect from it for just a moment. But she still couldn't move.

As the last of the ice melted, Lenore called out a new attack. "Gita, use Shadow Punch!" The gengar condensed the cloud into a fist like shape and hit the haunter at point-blank range.

Just as Hematite finally got free a new attack shot towards her too fast to avoid. She floated limply and began to dissipate around the edges. Lyle quickly recalled her, waved to Lenore, then headed off to get Hematite healed.

The gengar simply stared as the boy recalled his haunter and left. They had won? Perhaps the girl had a strategy in mind, after all. Interesting. Engulfed in red light, he was returned to his pokeball.
Lenore looked down at the ball in her hand and gave a small smile. "Thanks, Gita." Pocketing the pokeball, she turned and left the stadium.
