"Melon!" Sei said triumphantly. "That was it. Honeydew." He hastily reached into his pouch and withdrew a handful of shiny bright coins. "I hope I have enough...

"More than likely, but like I said before, the shop keep is about dead asleep," Sada chuckled slightly," at least I cannot wake him." Another bite out of the sweet apple, and the raven haired gehaka sighed. It tasted so good.

Longingly Sei's grey eyes lingered on the fruit himself as he picked only the best for his mother. Grapes... peaches... plums... and then he went about testing the melons with an expert thump on their side with his open palm. He listened for the damp thud of a ripe melon, his ear twitching slightly as he pressed the thing close. His mouth watered with the scents of sweet fruit, and he wore a look of desire on his face as he eyed a particularly juicy looking nectarine. "Then he will never know if I am slightly short," Seichou said, softly.

Both of Sada's dark eyebrows came up. He would never lie to his mother, but his own mother treated him lovingly, more so than any of his husbands at least. He just continued to eat his apple, watching the others quietly.

Seichou's own mother was -- and had always been -- disappointed in him, because he was no shakes at all when it came to swordplay. His fingers lingering on the coins, he looked down at the fruit, then shook his head, a look of horror on his gentle features. "What am I saying? Lie?" He shook his head. "Not even for a nectarine..." Seichou licked his lips, and sighed as he gathered the fruit into his apron carefully.

Sada thought for a moment, he still had some change left over from the apple. He normally saved it for when he wanted a more expensive piece of fruit, or for a single meal at a reasturant on a really good day. But he stepped forward, placed the money on top of the pile that was growing, and picked up the nectarine.
"Here you are." He held it out to Seichou, a small smile on his lips.

Enju was enthralled and all the new Gehaka showing up. And one he recognized as well. He didn't say anything but kept on eating his apple quietly. He cocked an ear towards the troubled Gehaka, not blaming him that he wanted a fruit for himself. He smiled at the sweet gesture of Sada and turned away, continuing to eaves drop and not offering his name. He was most of the time a speak when spoken to kind of guy.
He tucked his hand into a pocket, wondering what time he had been told to return home. He had been working most of the day and had practiced his fighting before dawn. Ah, he remembered now, he'd been given the day off for such good work and that his fighting had improved a great deal.

Astonishment showed on Seichou's handsome face as he took the nectarine. "B-but, you... you could've had one of your own--" He held the fragrant fruit in one hand and gazed wide-eyed at Sada.( sorry for the delay, got called out x_x )

"I already have what I wanted, my mother always gives me money for fruit, I know how fruit is a simple joy for everyone, why should you not enjoy what you want?" Sada smiled again, then leaned slightly on a wall, after folding his wings. The raven haired Gehaka finished off his apple with closed eyes.

"You're so kind," said Seichou, with a sweet little smile. "Won't you tell me your name, so perhaps I can pay you back sometime...? I am Amanohara Seichou." He bowed deeply, or as deeply as he could, with one hand holding up an apronful of fruit and the other cradling his own nectarine.

"Don't worry, just pass the favor along when you see some one in need. I am Yori Sada," his name meant what he was, quiet. His voice was soft tones, and his smile soft as well. He sighed slightly, and looked at the sky. The sun seemed still not ready to set. "It is nice to meet you Amanohara-san. This is...an interesting fellow as well." He waved a hand at the other whom he had been speaking to earlier.

"I will do my best, Yori-san," said Seichou, with a smile. Turning to the other, he offered another shy smile, before lifting the fruit to his lips to nibble at it, savoring the sweet succulent flesh of it. "Greetings," he mumbled around the fruit.

To add to the number of Gehaka milling about the fruit stand, there were two more bodies moving down the road. However, though one was the same broad form as the first 3, the second was of a much more slender frame. Reizo glanced to the side, not suprised to see so many Gehaka in one place. That fruit did look appealing. It was mid-day, not terribly hot, but the freshness of it was...very attractive. A glance flicked at the Gehaka slightly behind him stopped the winged man. Reizo drew a few coins from the small purse he carried, and approached the stand, expecting any Gehaka in front of him to move away. He surveyed the selection with a raised eyebrow and slightly pursed lips. He was used to richer shops, but the stand was here. (First real debut of the Reizo!kitty. XD)

Sada saw the Haka appear suddenly with a Gehaka, and backed off from the stand quickly. His throat became dry all over again, like the day before. And his blue eyes stared at the ground, once again like the day before. The raven haired Gehaka didn't wish to draw attention to himself, not from a Haka least of all. He rubbed his chin, a scrape from where he had fallen on his face in front of a Haka the day before.

Sei was in midbite of the fruit, savoring it, with the sun-warmed juices dripping slightly down his chin as he sighed dreamily. However, when his mind registered the presence of the haka, he hastily moved out of the way, trying to shift and bow at the same time. This only resulted in the young artist tripping over his own feet and ending up in a small pile on the cobbled road, both hands clutching the ends of his apron, his mouth clamped on his nectarine, and his hair a mess. He was also sitting on the leading edge of one wing, but he was indeed lower than the haka. "Greetings, honorable lord," he said with a small whimper, as he took the nectarine from his mouth.
