"Zue don't get too cooky now!" Zak called out. "Lets now try to confuse it Zue, use Confuse Ray" reverting back to status effects.
Flying up and dodging the blizzard Zue sent a ray of light towards the water pokemon countering it.

Comet just turned his head away and closed his eyes, avoiding the disorienting light.
"Good job, Comet! Now go back to Ice Beam," Lyle instructed.
His pokemon took that to mean the attack had finished, and opened his eyes as he turned to fire off the attack.

"Alright!" Lyle cheered. The ice looked good and thick, they ought to be able to get in a few good attacks. "Now Blizzard again!"
Comet happily complied, firing off a blast of snow at his immobilized opponent.

Flora emerged from her pokeball and was imediatly hit with the blizzard attack. Annoyed she looked back at her trainer.
"Sorry" he replied to her frusteration

Oh yeah, this was a two-pokemon battle. This was actually only the second time Lyle had fought in a multi-pokemon battle, so he wasn't used to it. After a moment he decided not to switch pokemon just yet, and to keep attacking. "Go back to Ice Beam," he called back.
Comet had been surprised when his opponent suddenly changed, but he didn't lose his focus and shot off another beam.

She was hit by the ice attack once more. As her trainer commanded she started to do a mystical dance raising her attack.

Good, good. He was quite glad when Flora was able to dodge the attack. "Hit him with a Dragon Pulse!" he called out.
After dodging she focused on her opponet and then released a shock wave from her mouth.

Comet was somewhat annoyed that his opponent had dodged his attack. But he felt a bit better once he was about to jump out of the way of Flora's attack. He got the pattern of attacks now, so he switched back to firing Ice Beam.

Comet flinched back as the attack hit him. It hurt, but he could keep going yet. He adamantly planted his feet and fired off another blast of snow.

Lyle was not happy about this development. Time to do something about it. "Comet, defend yourself with Bulk Up."
His pokemon had been getting ready to attack again, but quickly switched gears. He dropped on all fours and tensed his muscles, bracing himself for any further attacks.

"Flora lets confuse it with Signal Beam!" he called out.
Flora readied herself for the next attack but it did no come. Once she was told to use Signal Beam a blinding light erupted from her mouth and she shot the beam at the water type.
