Cybele's eyes widened when he grabbed her wrist, her smile wavering and then turning almost to a frown, although the 'attack' hadn't hurt more than her pride. It was just that she hadn't seen it coming at all, and it had been her own fault, and that was bad, especially since she was trying to be a good... mentor, or something. Instinctively, she jerked her arm down and tried to twist away in order to resume a better stance. "I'm not immune to distraction, either," she murmured, although her lighthearted tone from before was gone. With her other hand, she threw an actual punch at his abdomen, still not at her full strength, but hard enough to definitely hurt. "...You're right, though," she continued after a moment. "Someone taught me the basics a long time ago, and I've had enough battle experience to figure some things out, but I don't know may proper techniques." It was partly because she hadn't put much emphasis on combat training, but that wasn't something she was going to admit. As she talked, she met his gaze warily in case he decided to attack again, but when he brought up kung fu movies, she couldn't help but giggle. "I don't think I've seen them." She did know a lot of stage combat, which probably helped more than watching extreme, choreographed fights. Actual training would be even better, though. "There were some training events a while ago, but I didn't go to them, and I haven't heard about them recently. It seems like a good idea. If we could find someone to lead it, we could use the phone alerts to advertise."

Havasu grunted in pain as her punch landed solidly. He had let her go as soon as she twisted away but he totally wasn't expecting a counter attack and one that was meant to hurt. He backed away and quickly got his breath back. "I can see," he replied cautiously. "At least you got someone who gave you some pointers." He shrugged and admitted that he was basically on his own when it came to fighting. "I have a friend who would be willing to help me out but since he has his own issues going on now I don't really want to impose." He took a few steps away and grimaced as he rubbed his sore stomach. "You seem to be holding up pretty well by your self. As for training," he glanced around the empty park and shrugged, "I can probably find a place but who would be willing to teach a bunch of newbies how to fight?" Havasu really hadn't met enough people to know who would act as a teacher or even a leader. He was beginning to understand just how alone he had been in both his training and his patrolling. He didn't know enough to be doing either safely. He glanced over at Cybele and smiled sheepishly, "don't suppose you know anyone do you?"

Cybele backed up slightly as well, half of her internally wincing at Havasu's pain while the other half was proud of the hit, perhaps more proud than she should have been. I'm not here to win, she had to remind herself, but since she was there to teach and was obviously failing at that, she allowed herself a moment to think about how she'd improved as a fighter, about how the first time she'd sparred she'd ended up on the ground and had almost been to scared to try punching, and now here she was, successfully countering attacks like someone who knew what she was doing. Then, she went back to feeling like a useless mentor. "Sorry," she said, actually wincing although it was perhaps a little late for that. "Are you all right?" Then, she made herself smile. His idea was good, and she could be encouraging, at least. "Well, if nothing else, just having people practice together could be helpful, but... There are people out there who wouldn't mind training newbies. In fact..." She summoned her phone and flicked through the list of contacts. Maybe they would be willing to help and maybe they wouldn't, but she could ask. "There are some people I can talk to." The phones, she was almost certain, were for senshi, so she glanced up at him. "Does this work on knights? Is there a way for me to get in touch with you?"

stari_maga im also up for cybele helping his dumb as with this problem as well ^.^ "Yeah I'm fine." His smile was a bit wane as he rubbed his sore side but he had received worse so it truly wasn't a big deal. He waved away her apology and instead focused on her as she pulled a phone from the middle of no where. He really did have to figure out how people were able to do stuff like that. Mentally shaking his head he focused on what she was saying. "I might know someone who would at least know someone else to ask. He's got some stuff going on so don't really want to impose." The idea of asking Shang to help train a bunch of people really had him balking, at least internally. His first priority should be Lily and Havasu wouldn't distract him from that. "Hum?" He focused on Cybele once more just in time for her to ask about communication. He shrugged, "I didn't get a magical phone, the one knight I know mentioned something about rings and how they can send and receive messages from senshi phones but," he held up his hands. Even with his fingerless gloves it was clear he wasn't wearing a ring. "I don't have one yet. Shang mentioned finding it in my 'home world' and needing to quiet my mind to find the way there, or something like that, but I can't seem to really do that." This time his smile sheepish as he admitted the shortcoming. "Too many thoughts are constantly bouncing around my thick skull." He rapped lightly on his head with his knuckles, coincidentally realizing he had a stick in his hair which he promptly pulled out and resettled the hat.

Cybele glanced thoughtfully at his bare fingers. Neither of their contacts would be much help if they couldn't get in touch with each other, but if all he had to do was get to space... "I could help you," she offered with a slightly embarrassed grin. "...for real this time. I've been to space." Not to her own asteroid, but she didn't mention that. It wasn't that she didn't know how to get there, just that she hated people treating her like an alien. Of course, since she'd been to the moon, she couldn't exactly use the fact that she'd never been off the planet as an excuse anymore... since then, she just hadn't really gotten around to it. "Close your eyes and take some deep breaths," she ordered. "It should help. Don't worry too much about clearing your mind. It should be fine. Just listen. Just try to focus." Her eyes were closed, as she was sort of trying to follow her own advice, but suddenly they flicked open. "Oh! My magic can probably help with that, actually. Here- Hunter's Deadly Grace!" She pointed the resulting bow at the sky and fired before he had a chance to get nervous about it.

stari_maga yes but i would say on my next post, that would close this one and ill start the next one. Havasu doesnt quite understand what happened just yet Havasu eyed Cybele skeptically. Going to space still meant rockets and extensive training. It was hard to wrap his head around the whole 'think and you shall be there' mentality but she did offer to help and it wasn't like he had gotten very far on his own. He closed his eyes and took deep breaths like instructed. Rather than his mind going quite like meditation should have done his mind bounced around more than a hyperactive five year old. It was rather surprising what went through his head. Thoughts of his folks, plans he needed to do, countless people, activities.... It seemed like every time he started to mentally quiet himself a new thought interrupted. It was hard to believe only a few seconds had passed when Cybele said something about magic. Now when it came to senshi magic he had only really seen it used briefly and a handful of times. The idea of magic helping him right now seemed almost as far fetched as going to space. He cracked an eye but when he saw the bow both eyes flew open and he watched in horror as she fired THREE arrows into the sky. "The hell!" It was all he was able to articulate as he watched the arrows reach the high point in their trip and began their return trip back to earth. He remained rooted to the spot as one of the arrows came right for him, unable to move at all. When the arrow reached him he expected something completely different then what happened, the magic arrow split open and bathed him in a glow. He felt everything snap into focus and it was his mind stopped jumping around. "What just happened?" Havasu asked as he examined his hands, every mark, line, cut, and nick were clear in his approved focus.

Cybele felt a little bad when Havasu opened his eyes. Her magic looked dangerous, and she knew it, but in her experience explaining that beforehand only made things awkward for longer. “Sorry,” was all she had time to say, and it didn’t come out sounding particularly apologetic, but then the magic hit and it became obvious that the two of them weren’t going to end up skewered. Instead, the world settled into now familiar sharpness, as did her mind. Stray thoughts faded and left Cybele’s mind clear and focused. Havasu, on the other hand, still looked a bit confused. “Sorry,” she repeated, hopefully sounding more genuine than before. There was more he probably deserved to hear, but now wasn’t the time for long winded explanations and apologies. Her magic only lasted for seconds… she was wasting time just thinking about it. “It’s my magic. It helps with focus, but it doesn’t last very long. Try again.” Her words were clipped, but her voice was warm, and she stepped closer, still smiling softly in an attempt to look reassuring.

Havasu nodded. He would worry about it latter, Cybele wasn't going anywhere just yet so he could pick her brain about the magic later. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath and this time his mind quickly quieted down. It didn't take long for his mind to completely empty except for a thought of a small hand full of string; his weapon. It really was quite insignificant but as he mentally examined it a profound sense of connection to the past and to something even greater. I pledge my life and loyalty to Pluto, and to Havasu Falls. I humbly request your aid, so that in return I may give you mine. It was like a echo, one he subconsciously repeated out loud. Havasu had meant it with all his heart and his wonder responded in kind. An imperceptible drop to his stomach and a slight jarring of his knees were all the indications that something just happened… that and the physical changes that he could now feel. -FIN- ((This rp continues in We're Not in Kansas Anymore))
