"Meet you there?" It was easy, casual, his head cocked to one side as he took off back toward the dorms. Zeke could trail him if he really wanted to, but maybe it'd be faster for both of them if Lukas wandered off on his own for just a bit.

He offered a lazy little salute as answer, grinning as he headed off towards the training field and leaving Lukas to take his spoils back to his room.
Honestly, he wasn't entirely certain the other man would actually show up, but he gave him the chance. Lingering on the field, one arm propped on a training dummy as he leaned against it, attention down on his phone to pass the time.

Lukas showed, though: showed, and after not too long, back into the white beacon of his division-issued coat, and his hat abandoned. He toyed absently with his weapon as he approached, the little knife spinning against his palm. Maybe he was relieved to see that Zeke had come.
"Weird time to do this." Not that it mattered, really. He shrugged, flashing a brief, toothy smile. "Ready?"
Zeke's attention lifted from his phone as he heard the approach, and there was a slight lift of brow as he took in the coat, a small tug of lips. "I feel a little under dressed now." The phone found a temporary home on the head of the dummy, and Zeke stepped it into the open lawn to meet him. The stone pendant around his neck vanished, axes filling his hands with a click of the chain that connected them.
"Always ready." An easy drawl that matched the lazy pull of his lips. Lukas' weapons were given an interested look. Unique, they weren't anything he's ever seen before.
True to his words, Zeke wasted no time in getting their little party started. Distance closing between them, one curved ax came up in a wide swipe that didn't quite connect, but it might get the other man moving.

It did get Lukas moving: sent him from standing and watching into a careful sidestep that brought the wickedly-sharp talon of one of his emeici slicing along Zeke's shield as he stepped past. They weren't a tough weapon, and certainly didn't seem to hold a wallop, but they were, at least, fast.
"Have you seen a real fight?" It sat, somewhere, between teasing and genuine curiosity. "Before or after recruitment, either way."
A sharp slice across his shoulder, and Zeke winced, an automatic reaction despite the dulled pain.
"Not much before, but I've seen my share of fights since arriving here." He didn't consider a spar to be a real fight. It was a training exercise, but ultimately there were no high stakes. Less even, if you didn't have a fragile ego to protect. "You"
"So what do you call those?" He made a gesture with one ax towards the wicked little blades in his hands, but the follow through took the curve of the ax across the other man's chest.

"Mostly, I call him Zik." It was an easy kind of joke, delivered so comfortably that it might take a second for it to sink in. In the back of his mind, though, Lukas heard the slither of scales, and he thought he took that as approval: enough to offer a tight smile. So he took a blow across the chest. It skidded off his shield and he ducked low, talon pinging off Zeke's again.
"Haven't heard that one before," he teased back, grin widening a touch as Lukas' blade dragged across his shield.
He turned on his heel has the other man moved, and the sharp edge of one ax came at an angle against Lukas' shoulder.

He hit hard enough that one of Lukas's weapons slid out of his hand and, with a curse, he ducked down to get it. The motion was smooth, at least, sliding it back onto his finger and setting it to spin as he came back up -- but, by then, Zeke had moved again. He missed.
"...I don't know, if you want a real answer. But they're pretty cool."
"They are that," he'd agree, chuckling at the weapon drop and recovery. It had seemed an easy motion, at least, effortless, but if gave Zeke time to slip back out of range of the very close range weapon. "You're partner doesn't know?"
Adjusting his grip a little further up the handle on his right ax, Zeke made a quick charge forward, bringing the blade down in a sharp arc to take the shorter man across the chest.

"He calls them piercers, when he chooses to speak, but that sounds...dirty, to me." Zeke hit him and Lukas rolled with it, taking the blow to the chest and wincing, raking down Zeke's back as the switched position. They seemed fairly evenly matched, which was something of a relief, considering the wallop America had given them.
Pincers didn't seem quite right, bu Zeke wasn't really sure what else you would all the spike-ended weapons. Whatever they were, they hurt when Lukas drove sharp points into his back and pulled down.
"Could maybe find out." It was a touched strained, slipping through his teeth as he turned, throwing one ax at the other man and jerking it back all in one smooth motion, trying to dig the wicked point of one curved blade into Lukas' shoulder.

"I don't see how." Lukas darted in, all at once, giving in to his weapon's insistence that he unleash his charge. For a moment, he was quick as light, scraping up against Zeke's shield -- but not hard. He barely landed one of his two blows, and it left him huffing out a frustrated breath as he stilled.
"It's not like I can just google it, here, can I?"

"There's a lot in the library," he started, though paused as Lukas came in quick to dig the spiked end of one of the pincers into his shield to pull a grunt from him. "Databases and collections. There's probably a weapons archive there as well." Weapons weren't Zeke's preferred subject for research, so he wasn't sure, but it seemed a fair bet, at least.
He planted a hand in Lukas' shoulder, shoving him back in a bid for distance as he retreated a couple of steps as well. Lagertha's runes flared, the valkyrie buzzed excitedly in his head as she handed over all that collected fear, And Ezekiel wielded it. Both axes came around in a wide arch to meet in the middle, and from that central point came a powerful blast of swirling wind. A condensed whirlwind, stronger than he'd ever delivered, it even pushed him back a step, made him dig in his toes against the force.
