Aiolos could feel it as the dragon hit the ground, its weight shaking the earth that he was pinned to, before it started to stalk forward, snarling as it did so. A strange sound, it sounded... threatening, as though it were trying to intimidate, which was odd since Aiolos was obviously spent, as well as just plain exhausted, too much so to even consider fighting back. He was unable to get back up, unable to fight, unable to get himself free of the vines so why was it making that sound? There was another sound that followed, a howl of pain that wasn't Aiolos, meaning... the dragon?
Finally daring to open his eyes he saw the dragon fighting it out with... wait, was that the blacksmith he found himself wondering, his eyes going wide. It was either that or he was hallucinating in his final moments of life, either way he'd take it. The big man was wielding a giant hammer, one that likely weighed twice what Aiolos did, and he was wielding it went, swinging it at the dragon once, twice, and then the third time struck home, hitting the dragon hard enough that it crushed the beast's skull in. The Ysali started to collapse, already dust by the time it would have hit the ground.
The big man walked over to him then, knocking away the vines, before scooping him up, "Fool boy, you're going to get yourself eaten before you can even finish your chores and get my mace eaten along with you!" The man was scolding Aiolos, words that the green haired kid only heard about half of before he was unconscious in the man's arms, having passed out from a mix of exhaustion and pure relief. He'd be hurting later from all of the strain he'd put on his body but for the time being he was safe and therefore quite happy
