As he was so close to shield her from the rain, he definitely did hear. "Better than being a bore. And I'm not talking about a pig." Another laugh. He was his own best audience. Slightly awkward, he reached out and took the females hand into his own. Soft hands. "Alright, lets turn and go right back into the woods." She was a very trusting lady, but then again when near blind the options were fairly few. Typically he wouldn't go out of his way himself to help some pae...but she was blind. He'd be heartless to just leave her out in the rain, far away from home. "I'm Baliel by the way. Though I wish now I had a more tree-ish name like Maple or Apple, just for comedy's sake."

Nicky smiled, squeezing his hand a little. Nice strong hands. Some hands that she felt she could trust. "Nice to meet you Apple." She pondered for a moment on telling him her name. Didn't really see a reason not to. "I'm Dominique, Nicky for short." The blind one offered, following behind the one she would now call Maple.
"Maple sounds like a bit of a girls name. You wouldn't be a woman in disguise would you?"

He snickered slightly at the 'Apple' comment as he started leading forward. As they stepped under the cover of trees, he pulled in his wings. Dominique. That was a mouthful. "Well, that would put me in a sticky situation. Though that may be a bit acorn-y of me." So many puns. "But you were against me earlier, so you should be able to tell." His red eyes glanced behind him at the blue female, making sure to go slow so she wouldn't trip. "So, these two olives are pals, and they're hanging from the tree like they've been for months. Suddenly, one falls to the ground. The remaining one says, "Are you ok?" And the other replies, "Olive!"

Nicky couldn't help but snicker. He was really funny! But then of course, words had to ruin it. A brilliant pink blush was brought to her cheeks. She hadn't actually felt much of him at all. It was just super embarrassing to have literally run into another pae at all! "Well Maple, you just felt so much like a tree, I couldn't just leaf you be." She turned it right back around. Even if it was kinda really awkward to have run into someone.
"Oh my gosh!" She started laughing, letting go of his hand to stop and clutch her sides. The hybrid was laughing hard enough for tears to start forming in the corners of her eyes, her sides aching from the humor of his corny joke. This guy was way better at jokes than her mother ever was!

He barked a quick laugh at the 'leaf', amused by her own puns shot back. Finally, someone who understood good humor. And at her roaring approval of his joke, he stopped and laughed with her. "Talk about two fruits who won't leaf each other alone! Boy, they're so sweet, they're almost sappy!"

She couldn't help but snicker. It almost hurt after the side clutching laughter of only a moment ago. Venus be blessed, this man was hilarious! "Okay okay, you win! You win!" She choked out, trying to breathe after all that laughing. Jokes, jokes galore. Nicky was only a pae, she did need to breathe between all that laughing. He was way better at this than she was!

Grinning ear to ear, he gave a rather flourished bow before realizing that she rightly couldn't see him. "So, what brought you out so far from home anyway?" He spoke with a bit of a chuckle, giving her a rest from his quick witted puns.

Nicky pondered his question, not entirely sure what had really brought her so far away from her home. "My feet!" She finally answered, smiling. Of course she hadn't seen the flourish of a bow he'd given her. Something dark had gotten shorter and then taller again, but that was about the most of it.
"I think I just wanted a walk, and then got lost." She said with a shrug. Thank Venus she'd found someone trustworthy to keep her safe till she could find a way home!

He barked a quick laugh at her first response, almost wanting to clap. "Its easy getting lost out here. After the rain stops and we're dry, I'll help you get back home." Speaking of which, he walked the few steps back to her to take her hand again. A few minutes in the rain was all well and good, but the sooner they were back inside his house the better chances they had of not catching a cold. "Bet you've got family that'll worry about you if you're gone for too long."

Nicky grinned, "Aint that the truth." She laughed a little, hoping that he wasn't making a joke of promising to help her home. She really was at his mercy at that moment.
"Mom won't start to worry for about a month, I think my dad is already freaking out..." She shrugged, wondering just how long she'd been gone already. It hadn't been quite that long yet had it? Several suns and moons if she was judging by the light she thought she'd been able to see. Sometimes fuzzy gray, sometimes fuzzy or total black... Those were usually the moons, anything less than a full moon and she was all but blind in the dark.

He joked about a lot of things, but being downright cruel wasn't his style.
"You live with your folks still?" How long had it been since he saw his parents? They kicked him out pretty young because of his antics, and was more than content to simply drop off a letter every now and again. He slowly led her around a rather large puddle that had formulated from the rain. The weather had been increasingly strange of late.

Nicky looked at the blob that she assumed as Baliel. "With eyes like these, who needs to live alone~" Okay, it was a terrible terrible twist of the usual wording. But it worked well enough for her. She did bat her eyes at him, smiling. No way she'd be able to live by herself without someone in the immediate area to make sure she didn't accidentally wander off.
"Is it dark where you live?" She questioned, curious. He was being kind enough to give her shelter, she could at least try to not break anything inside his home by wandering around in the complete dark.

With her eyes straying to another tree, he moved slightly so that it looked more like she was looking at him. "Your parents might need to have a serious talk with your feet about letting you wander." He chuckled at his half jest. Thankfully she ran into him -literally and figuratively- rather than some crazy psycho. Especially with her disability.
"Dark? Nah. Not like I live in a cave or anything. More of a cabin thing. Now you might be thinking to yourself, 'this guy seems too friendly to live in a cabin in the middle of the woods'. You'd be right. I live in the City, but come here to let the heat cool down when my pranks tick off the wrong pae." Sadly not everyone could laugh at themselves, and would much rather stalk him to his house in order to try to punch his face in.
Happened more than he cared to admit.

"If only my feet would listen. Or my hands, or my wings." She giggled, smiling. It wasn't the first time she'd wandered off, but it most certainly wouldn't be the last. Wanderlust combined with near blindness. Seemed like a good combination to her.
"Are you telling me pae don't have a sense of humor?" Her eyes went wide, looking at what she believed was him. He was moving differently since she looked at him a moment ago. Nicky guessed she'd been staring at a tree while she was talking. Oh how she hated doing that. "What sort of craziness is that! Heck, half the island shows up for my grandmother's parties and none of them can laugh?" She was outraged for him. Why should such a nice guy like him have to hide in the woods in the middle of Venus knows where? Some pae just couldn't take a joke.

At the mention of her other extremities, he decided to take the jest a touch further. He grabbed hold of one of her hands to bring it up to his face. "No more wanderin', ya hear?" He chastised with false sternness. But stern was something he wasn't very good at, even in a joke, and in second he was cracking a smile. "...Unless it's to see me. That would be alright."
The angel caught her eyes moving, then finally focusing on him. There we go, finally on target. His smile turned into a bit of of a chagrined grin as he looked forward again. Not too much further to his humble abode. "Unbelievable right? Sometimes I think I'm a Maple tree surrounded by bushes...Or something to that effect." At the mention of a huge party, his head tilted. He was rather fond of large gatherings. Made it easy to find pae to prank. "Grandmother's parties? What party is that?" He'd be sure to attend it if he could.
