Safi/Tori rp, page 7124 in the thread:

samus x
Tori walk down the river, looking to see what new things she might see. or maybe she might see someone new. stoping to take a drink, she wondered what she might do next. rarly ever leaving the herd, so when she could she would take a walk.

Cajmera
"You put your left feet in, you put your left feet out, you put your left feet in, and you shake them all about." Singing to himself, Safi danced through the fast-running current of the water as he crossed the river, spinning in a circle at the 'shake it all about' part and chuckling at his own silliness. He was how old, now? "Ah well, you're never too old to enjoy yourself!" Spreading his wings, he waded out of the water and up onto the bank, really shaking himself all about in an effort to get himself as dry as possible before moving on. "And enjoying oneself is the spice of life, right?" This remark was directed at himself also, but in addition, it was directed at the mare that he'd suddenly noticed on the new side of the river. "Good day to you!"

samus x
Tori was surprised indeed to see a winged stallion singing. giving a chuckled she looked at him. " and good day to you too. and im sure its true that enjoying ones self is the spice of life." she could not help but give a giggle at the stallion. " sorry about me giggling, im Tori and you are? "

Cajmera
Continuing to smile in his half-crooked way, Safi tossed his head, sending the last few droplets of water flying skywards. "Well, it's always nice to know that one can randomly stumble upon a stranger and get an agreeing opinion! Although now that I know your name, you're technically not a stranger, I suppose!" Folding back his wings, Safi stepped back one foreleg into a slight bow, dipping his head. "Nice to meet you, Tori; I'm Safi. So, what brings you out to the river today?"

samus x
Tori grinned and resited the urged to nibble on the soft wings of his. "true enough Safi and i suppost your not a stranger now ether. " she gave another chuckle at how Safi bowed to her. " im usualy here at the river exploring when i can. though im suppost to stay with the herd im in with my parents and brother."

Cajmera
"Precisely; I think that it's written somewhere in the laws of Good Etiquette that once you know someone's name you are no longer a stranger. At least, that's what I've always believed. Then again, I've never seen the laws of Good Etiquette written down anywhere." As Safi straightened up, he tossed his head yet again, this time to get a few stray strands of hair of of his face, as he liked to actually see who he was talking to. "So you're a wandering explorer, eh? That's a good thing to be...or at least, it's always suited me fine. Can't say that I've ever been good at sticking to one place for very long!"

samus x
Tori could not help but chuckled again. " i say thats true, but then my father always taught me to be polite." flicking her tail and watched him tosses his mane out of his face. "yes when ever i get the chance i do. and so does my brother Fenrir. he is not apart of the herd since he likes to be the wild, proud stallion he is. though my other brother Jazz is somewhat the same way." she gave a little sigh, remebering it had been quiet a long time since she had seen Fenrir.

Cajmera
"I see, I see. So you live with your family, then? I don't, although my brother Kohana lives in the same herd as our mum. I just sort of...roam, and when I feel like it I go hang out at the teepee of a two-legger who seems to be attached to me." Pawing at the ground slightly, he glanced around as though expecting Tori's herd to materialize out of nowhere; he wasn't really used to crowds or herds, so mention of them was enough to make him a little twitchy. "Is it just your family in your herd?"

samus x
Tori chuckled." most of the family actualy. my brother fenrir decided not to join since he wants to be a wild stallion." she then pondered a moment. " really? there are others in the herd im in besides my family." taking a long look at Safi, he reminded her of Celendria. " for some reason you remeind me of my fathers friend Celendria, who is in the same herd with her mate."

Cajmera
"Well, I'm sure that your brother has his reasons for wanting to be solitary; Lord knows I like it well enough." Safi smiled, then blinked in surpise and amusement at the question. "I remind you of Celendria, huh? Well, I've heard once or twice from my father that I resembled her slightly; guess that's true!" Grinning, he gave Tori a wink. "Call it a family resemblence, I suppose."

Safi/Tori rp continuation, page 7627

samus x

Tori chuckled." yes im sure he does, and sometimes its nice to be alone." she blink at him for a moment the grinned." so you are her son. i remeber hearing she had two son's but never met them. and it does seem you take alot after her, save for the beautiful wings."

Cajmera
"You might say that I'm like a frost-bitten orchid; at least, that's how someone once described me, and I kinda liked how it sounded. But yeah, Dad always commented how I took after Mom; the wings are his, though." As he spoke, Safi looked down to examine his multicolored wings with a sort of passive interest, as though they were both novel and mundane to him at the same time. Shaking his head at his own silliness after a moment, he looked over at Tori once more. "So, you know my mother but have never met my brother, huh? Well, that's probably good for you; Kohana is a crazy one!"

samus x
She eyed for a momet and nodded. " that truely does discride your looks for sure." Tori chuckled a bit at his refrance to his brother." if he really is crazy then he would be a interesting one to meet indeed." looking at his wings again, she really found them beautiful and interesting.

Cajmera

Safi blinked for a moment, then pondered what Tori was saying. Did it make sense to want to gt to know someone because they were crazy? Well, if it was good crazy, that really might be a way to go...and Kohana wasn't bad, just...Kohana! "He's gotten on my nerves once or twice, but overall, I must admit that he's good at keeping me amused. Besides, aggravating one's siblings and being aggravated by them just seems to be the way of the world. But then, I'm guessing that you have dealt with similar things, being a sibling yourself?"

samus x
Tori smirked. " yes it seems to be normal to be annoyed with siblings. though i tend to bug my brothers more than they bug me. so i know how it is with two siblings of my own." she thought of her last comment and chuckled to herself. having never met anyone bad, she did not think there where really any bad soquili out there. though she was told to watch out for them and she did usualy. unless she was looking for adventure.

Cajmera
One of Safi's eyebrows raised briefly as Tori's expression took on what seemed to be malicious glee at something or other, but he quickly disregarded that, deciding that she was no doubt thinking of something amusing. "And no doubt you have a better sense of that than I do, really, because you live with your family and I don't. The first time that my brother and I met, we didn't even know that we were brothers! And even now, we only see each other when we happen to run into each other, so...yeah."

samus x
Tori smilied." i guess thats true, though i usual only see my brother Jazz. Fenrir is the one i only somewhat know though we where all together as kids." she then shruged. " but things happen and i guess you cant always be together with family, though its nice to know them. maybe you should try talking to your brother more often?"

Cajmera
"Well...it's a little more complicated that that." Safi tilted his head as he tried to figure out how to explain his own rather different outlook on family bonds and socialbility, failing miserably. "Kohana and I are differnet...and I'm even different from my parents, really. It's not that I dislike being around others, I just tend to feel stiffled when I'm around others too long or around too many others at once. That's why I'm a wanderer; I can come and go as I please!" Grinning, the stallion punctuated the statement by a well-timed flick of the tail, which took out a large horsefly that had been buzzing around; two birds with one stone!

samus x
Tori chuckled as he grinned. " i see, thats most likey one reason my brother decided to wander too. though i have to say he is alot like out father. a wild, wandering stallion through and through." she then smired again." i usualing like to wander for a bit but then i like to be around the herd sometimes too."

Cajmera
"Well, it appears to me that you have a nice balance there in your life, as far as socialbility goes, but then, I'm no expert." Safi chuckled at that, shifting his stance and polishing one hoof on the flank of his other foreleg. "Which, I suppose, almost brings our conversation in a full circle, doesn't it?" Smiling, the stallion raised his head and looked about at the bright green grass and the rolling stream. "But today really is a gorgeous day to be out wandering, isn't it, Tori?"

Rp log; prp between Safi and Shaylee

Cajmera
Splash splash sploosh. The sounds of splashing water weren't perhaps that unfamiliar to anyone passing by the river...but it was more than just the usual currents stirring up the water. Safi, a wide grin on his face, paddled along through the water, his wings spread and helping him stay above the water line. He might be a full grown stallion, but when it came to many of life's little pleasures, he could act just like a foal!

Rein_Carnation
Zipping in and out of the clouds a figure of the prettiest purple fluttered her wings madly spiraling towards the river. She squealed as her hooves touched upon the water dipping in every so oftan as she kept her speed above the now ripping waters. Like a throwing stone she bounced on top gleefully enjoying herself. As a child thrives on imagination the flutter known as Shaylee lived in that pasttime. Zipping back and forth she squealed yet again in her own happiness not to far fron Safi.

"Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" she exclaimed as she zipped by him with a silly grin.

Cajmera
"...Whoa!" Now, Safi could be just as dense as the next stallion in most things; in fact, he was perhaps more dense than most when it came to many adult Soquili issues. But he was NOT quite so dense that he missed seeing the purple flutter dance past on the surface of the water, nor missed hearing her delighted squeal. Back paddling with his wings, he moved himself back into a water treading posture and watched the mare with interest. Though he knew OF flutters, he'd never seen one other than Indawo before, so he wasn't exactly sure what he was loking at...but what she was doing looked fun!

"Good day to you, Miss! Having fun?" Never one to wait for an introduction, he called out cheerfully to the purple mare; she looked like she'd be fun to talk to!

Rein_Carnation
Shaylee twirled on the water's surface as if it were winter shallowed with a layer of ice. Only sometimes did her hooves ever break the surface now in her little dance. Wings so delicate yet holding herself as if she was light as a feather.

Upon hearing a greeting she skidded in the air holding her posistion orbs of purple gazing for the voice that had spoken. She flicked her curly tail turning herself to notice a large stallion carrying the ice colors of someone she knew quite well. With a flit of her transparent wings the light bounced purple on the crystal clear water below.

"Heyas... Hellooooooooooo there." she returned with a child's greeting full of playfullness and a touch of silliness.

Cajmera
"Hello yourself! You sure look to be enjoying yourself, don't you?" Not entirely a question and not entirely a statement, Safi's tone was amused and pleasant as she...skidded to a halt in the air? Well, that was certainly effective use of wings and resistance of gravity for you.

Paddling over towards the mare, he cocked his head in a querying fashion, having never seen a Soquili behave in such a fashion before. He doubted that he himself could even pull off a false imitation of that water walking routine...but then, maybe he just didn't fly enough. "Lovely day to be out on the river, huh?"

Rein_Carnation
Shaylee remarked how much blue he carried of the ice lineage of Celendria. She lowered herself then that her legs submerged in the cool water. Slightly smaller she appeared in his eyes as she finally touched the waterlogged underside of the river. It was quite possible she could of been mistaken for a filly as little as she was compared to the great stallion in the water.

"I heard about you I did. I know your mom and brother quite well." she beamed as her little figure puffed out her chest. She nodded and then continued. "Oh yes lovely day it is. Can you skip across the water too? I like dodging fall leaves but meh there isn't any right now. So the river is fun too.

Cajmera
Ok, he hadn't really been expecting that; here Safi hadn't even introduced himself, and she already knew who he was! "Well, you seem to have me at a disadvantage, Miss; it seems that you know who I am, and I have absolutely no idea about you!" As the mare sank into the water as well, the stallion obligingly swam backwards a little bit, continuing to tread water with the aid of his fanned wings. As he saw it, she was awfully delicate, and the last thing he wanted was to harm her by proximity or what have you.

"As to the water, I can't say that I've ever tried to walk on water; my wings are rather neglected, as I prefer to walk over fly." As he spoke, he glanced back at his wings as though to study them. "So the whole 'water walking' thing has never actually come up."

Rein_Carnation
Water swaying back and forth caused the little purple mare to bob in the water as she occasionally flit her wings for support. Her eyes wide as a child's danced merrily along as she floated lightly now.

"Me? Oh I'm Shaylee. I live with your mom outside the forest. Nice place too though its getting crowded with everyone that keeps arriving and staying." she nodded noticing him study his wings.

"Hmm yeah I noticed wingeds and flutters have wings. But man are they so different?' she giggled flitting her again to keep the water from weighing her down.

Cajmera
"Oh, so that explains it. You must know my brother Kohana as well then, Shaylee; and for that, I pity you." Grinning ear to ear, Safi watched the mare as she floated about, reminding him more of a foal than anything else.

At her comment about wings, though, he found himself yet again studying his spread wings, then glancing over at her own. The difference was quite striking, what with his being sturdy, large, and feathered, while her were thin, delicate, and translucent. "No kidding...it looks like it would be really easy just to poke a hole in those wings of yours!"

Rein_Carnation
Shaylee bobbed there like a little dingy in the water. Her flitting of wings caught the light reflecting them off the crystal waters. She thought about the spats between the fiesty and the ambitious Soquili roaming their clearing. Always in a fighting stance the ice stallion of dessert could always cause some sort of trouble.

"Yeah Kohana is a wild one. The way he goes after Glory is just too funny to watch. Hrm.. I think he's jealous of her horn. I really do." she noted shaking her head as if to prove a point.

Her eyes traveling to his wings as he studdied them. Yep wingeds were a lot different then the flutters. The new red one Zaribe was always showing off his like their were a prized possesion or something.

"Poke a wha?' her eyes blinked twice as her mouth hung open, "Why would someone do that?" she queried with a quizical look back at her own wings flitting it seemed like a 100 beats per minute.

Cajmera
"Meh, horns are nice enough if you have one, I suppose, although I can't really say that they strike me as something to get all excited about. Sort of like wings, really; if you have them, that's fine, if you don't, then you don't. End of story. But yeah..." The stallion chuckled at the idea of Kohana fighting a mare about a horn; what was he going to do, forcibly pluck the horn from the uni's head and ahere it to his own? "That sounds like something that Kohana would do, even if it wouldn't do him much good in the long run."

Still fanning his wings back and forth on the surface of the water, the icy stallion paddled his way over towards Shaylee, taking a closer note of her wings (just to make sure he was drawing the correct conclusions from them via his own observations). "Well, I'm not saying that someone would actually poke a hole in your wings; I'm just saying that it looks like it could be very easy, what with them being so thin and fragile and all. Maybe if you ran into a mean unicorn or something, you know?

Rein_Carnation
"Oh right" she said glancing around her puffing up her lavender chest. "Can't be too careful with those evil uni and their spears of death now can we?" she snorted looking back at him with a silly face only she could muster.

"Well that uni has got something coming. I think I'd just paw him to death if that even was remotely thoght of ya know?" she said with another serious yet comical look still inhaled like an ocean pufferfish.

She looked at the water thinking just when it was the last time to actually talk with someone and be herself. Million years at best probally.

Cajmera
"Well, laugh all you want, but those unicorn horns can be quite sharp." Safi did his best to keep a straight face, but given the absurdity of the conversation, it was no surprise that his mouth was twitching violently. In fact, it was only a few seconds before he totally lost it; that face she was making was too ridiculous!

"Not that I'm doubting the sincerity of your words, Shaylee, but you'll have to excuse me if I find them a little...ineffectual." Still chuckling, he tried to picture this tiny little mare fighting down a violent unicorn...and failed miserably; she didn't look like she could outfight a dandelion. "Still, I heartily believe that you would go down fighting!"

Already the stallion was enjoying himself; usually he was being told that he was too silly and needed to be more serious, yet here was a mare who made him look downright stodgy! Man, if only Indawo could see this...

Rein_Carnation
She scrunched her nose up even more snorting as her legs splashed in the water. Flitting wings of purple amythest fanned the water causing ripples that shimmered over the rolling waves.

"You laugh all you want" she smiled with a wink, "But I can be quite fierce as a Kalona if need be."

She tilted her head and stuck out her tongue.

"And what about you Safi? How would you handle the likes of evil incarnate carrying a fiersome horn of blackness hmm?" she waited holding her little puffed form with her scrunched up nose. Occasionally pawing the ground err gravel that lied endlessly beneath the depth of the crystal clear water she stood within.

Cajmera
"Oh, I'm not doubting your ferocity, Shaylee, merely your effectiveness." Still grinning ear to ear, Safi sought to demonstrate his point by flapping his wings and sending a wave of water towards the flutter. Even though they weren't out far, he figured it would be interesting to see how she reacted.

"As for me, that woul be easy; were I being pursued by a vicious unicorn, I'd simply make use of these ungainly wings and take to the air; as far as I know, most unicorns are lacking in wings, so that ought to work." No sense in getting gored, unless it was for a really good reason. And he'd never thought of such a reason yet!

Rein_Carnation
She stood or rather floated on the surface fanning her large pearly purple wings clear yet translucent to the sun as it bounced light from them.

As the spray of the wave came at her the flutter practically jumped in the air moving her wings at an enourmous speed to keep balanced. Her eyes darted back to him slyly know who caused that little drama.

"Aww where's the fun in that?" she giggled slowly decending back into the water till she rested where her day had started talking to him, "Really now atleast cause a fuss before you run like a a little foal. Evaluate the situation. Then decide to flee or fight. Rawr".

Cajmera
"You certainly are a sprightly one, aren't you? And I know very well that that can't be just because you're a flutter, either, since Indawo is nowhere near that graceful." Laughing, Safi gave Shaylee a wicked grin, noding his head in proud acknowledgement of the fact that yes, he'd splashed her on purpose.

"Well, I'm not much of a fighter, unless words are involved. If you fight, you'll probably get bloody, and do you know how horribly blood red goes with my coloring?" He sighed in a dramatic fashion that could make one want to hit him upside the head, unless they realized that he was actually joking. "You look like you're tougher than I am, though, and since you're not white or icy at all blood would lend more to your personal attractions anyway, I'd say!"

Rein_Carnation
Silly as a foal the flutter known as Shaylee could bite the best of them. She stamped the water violently and grinned all the while doing it. She knew he had splashed her now that it was done and over with. Course a little puffball like her couldn't try something like that.

"See fighting makes ya fiesty like this grrr." she snorted with a grin. "Yeah okay wings are good for escaping but when you need to you act all tough and stuff."

She splashed around all the while grinning as she continued on.

Cajmera
"Take pity on me, oh fearsome Shaylee! I was young and naive, and didn't know what it was that I was doing!" Grinning in a manner remarkably similar to Shaylee, Safi pretended to cower in fear as the diminuative mare splashed; for all the world, he looked like he expected to get beaten to a pulp by the fierce flutter. "Though I have to wonder where it was that you picked up this amazing ferocity; you look like you could have been born with it, but I dunno..."

A true tease himself, it was easy for Safi to identify a fellow goofball. Consequently, he was eager to seize the chance to engage in what was tantamount to 'tease warfare'. "Or...did you have to take lessons in this noble art of ferocity?"

Rein_Carnation
"Eh?" she paused looked dumb founded.

Her ears swiveled as she stood still as a firmly planed rock. "Learn ferocity? Oh heck no I was born with it. Yep and I can beat em down with one snort." she teased snorting with a flick of her long tail. Her chest once again puffed out inb the typical Shaylee fashion.

"Atleast you're talking with me" she paused with a tiny meek frown, "I think Azure abandoned me." she murmered with her eyes distant and sad.

Realizing she had almost lost her composure she snorted and tossed her head. "Now what the heck was that?! Go away bad feelings and thoughts. I'll kick yer butt!"

Cajmera
"That must be a heck of a snort, but from my experience the girls have always been better at such things than we fellows." Grinning, Safi resumed floating on the surface of the water, his legs tucked up under his body and making him look for all the world like a buoy with a head.

At Shaylee's mention of Azure, Safi's ears flickered slightly, though his expression never faltered. Obviously that was a sensitive issue, and judging from her reaction to it, it wasn't one she cared to bring up. While it was true that he had a good ear for personal problems, he had a pretty good idea that a Soquili he'd just met wouldn't feel like discussing her personal life with him. So...

"Well, that's one way to drive the blues away! I wish that my thoughts would listen to me that well. I wish I'd been born with that kind of ferocity!"

Rein_Carnation
Shaylee giggled splashing around like a carefree foal. Her mane and tail flailing black and forth spraying water everywhere. Her eyes turned to him with a grin with a tilt of the head.

"Ah but you can practice and be brave." she whinnied with a silly expression. She was having so much fun but the subject of that one breaking her heart was gnawing like a canine on meat.

She scrunched her face and looked at him with a query in violet twinking orbs. "So can i like talk to you about something? I mean no one else listens to me half the time since I'm the featherbrained flutter. Or wait is that Zaribe that gets called that?" she blinked with a sneeze follwed by a well place snort.

Cajmera
"But practicing is so hard...I mean, you need to apply effort and all." Smiling, Safi used his wings to propel himself in a circle around Shaylee, cocking his head at her as she suddenly shifted gears. "And sure, you can talk to me about something. Or anything, or everything; I'm good with most things, except for nothing. But I've been told I'm a good one to talk to, and I like to, so...talk away."

He made a face at the use of the term 'featherbrained flutter', however. "And you're not featherbrained; as far as I can tell, you've got no feathers. Maybe a hairbrained flutter..."

Rein_Carnation
She looked to the ground in her nieve ways frowning though she tried her darnest to smile thinking of being abandoned. Only a few second she brought her little head back up with her normal perky outlook on things. Like a feather floating upon the wind Shaylee just usually lived as she knew best. But when a complication arose that wasn't in her favor she strained herself to try and figure out why.

She began lightly wondering why she was so persistant in knowing why she was the reason.

"Well see there was this guy right? And I was like oh my handsome. And then he talks to me..." she chattered along with a smile once again painting her pretty features bright and cheery.

"And I found I liked him and all. I was so in love. And we went to the mountains and..." she stopped and hung her head looking tragically and distant. Mane and tail dragging toward the ground like limp lifeless plantlife.

Cajmera
His eyes on Shaylee's rather animated face, Safi listened intently, taking note of every facial tick and twitch and change as the mare spoke. Since he was the buddy to many mares, he's heard many sad stories and gotten to be very talented at reading expressions, a talent that he once more brought into play now.

"Hrm. So, you fell in love with a guy and he turned out to be less than you had thought, hrm? Sorry if I seem a little blunt, but trust me, it's always for the better to just get everything clarified to begin with." Nodding his head, the stallion frowned as almost all at once Shaylee seemed to wilt, like a water lily without sun. "Hey now, no wilting allowed yet; wilting around Safi is not permitted, Shaylee!"

Glancing around, he spotted a large strand of kelp tumbling along in the water; nimbly he fished it out and draped it over Shaylee's neck like a boa. "As long as this is on, depression must be fought! Because...kelp is a happy plant. But anyway, moving on..." Let's see, how to phrase this? "Did he just vanish, or was there someone else or something else involved? Or do you just not know?"

Rein_Carnation
She giggled immediately as he hung the kelp over her shoulder feeling the wetness soak into her. Not a bad feeling really with a squish or two there.
When composed she shook her head at his answer. "After the baskets he vanished. Poof. See ya later. Bye. Not a word from him since." she snorted still frowning a tad.

The little flutter looked at him like an older brother now for she herself carried no siblings in her bloodline. "So what do I do? I mean really. Find a stallion worthy of my umm..." she paused snorting as Shaylee thought really hard on this. "Charm! Yeah my flutterish charm." she mused tossing her head letting violet curls bounce about in the air. Blinking at him she puffed herself up as always then paused, "Maybe I got what I deserved."

A quaint little tealnoted Shaylee in the water talking to a strange stallion. Padding over he heard her words quite clear shaking his head. "No you didn't deserve that. No one does. Stop degrading yourself Shaylee."

Cajmera
"Hrmph. Sounds rather like the typical male scoundrel, at least from this side of the story...and if it's true that he cut and ran after his fun, then I can't say you really lost much of any significance, Shaylee." Though both his tone and words were of a jesting bent, Safi's eyes were, for a rare occassion, serious. "Some males just have no business with females, in my opinion, but that's just it."

Finishing up his little serious bit, he suddenly flipped his wings shut and paddled out a bit deeper into the middle of the river. "But if it's any consolation, I think you're on the right track there at the end...almost." Frowning, he shook his head vigourously at her last words about getting what she deserved. "Darn, and you were doing so well for a second there! Listen to the duck, Shaylee."

Grinning, he nodded his head at the teal, then returned his attention to Shalyee. Continuing on in a conversational tone that bordered on lecturing, he began again. "Go with that flutterish charm thing. You're spunky, you're purple, you're cute, you've got all the goods, basically. So why let yourself get dragged down when you could find another stallion who would no doubt be much more attentive?" It made perfect sense; he should really write a book or something!

Rein_Carnation
She fluttered her wings staying but a fraction in the water watching Safi then Everly basically hearing the same things come from both of them. A bit confusing though from the duo of them to the flutter's over active imagination. She frowned putting two and two together of reality and failed miserably doing so.

Flicking her tail she waded out after the large winged feeling a bit uneased on what to do. "Well finding someone is not easy to do ya know? Azure was love at first sight to me. The first flutter who listened to me, talked with me, loved...me." she sighed hanging her head. Was she really that gullible like the others said she was. Course not Shaylee was well .. Shaylee and that was that.

She puffed herself up to float on the water more and looked at the little teal fox yearning deperately to be there beside her but not wanting to douce his fur in deep water where he would have to dog paddle himself to where the two conversed.

"What you need shaylee is encourage ment. And what I see now is your friend trying to give it to you." he nodded touching the water with his paw then stepping back a little. He wasn't a lap dog nor was he planning to start now.

Cajmera
Shaking his head, Safi glanced from Everly to Shaylee, blinking at bit at the same time. This was a whole new level of emotional upheavel in a relatively short amount of time, and he wasn't really sure how to react. In fact, that alone was a surprising thing. Still, he had made his bed, and he would definitly lie in it!

"Well, just because you fell head over heels in the first moments doesn't necessarily mean he was the one for you, you know? Emotion and hormones can be quite the meddling things, and they can make you think things other than what's right." Treading water with his front legs, Safi tilted his head at Shaylee, trying his hardest to sound postive and convince her that what he was saying made sense. "And who says you have to be with a flutter? Not that there's anything wrong with flutters, but maybe you should widen your scope."

Rein_Carnation
Everly listened to the son of Celendria beaming at how different his temper was to his brother's own fiesty nature. Shaylee had other things in her prospect for even in her childish outlook she was gorgeous. But little things such as pride tended to destroy such happiness making it difficult to stay focused when another in your life had hurt you causing a negativity to begin in one's self conscience.

Shaylee's eyes widened hearing the term "And who says you have to be with a flutter? Not that there's anything wrong with flutters, but maybe you should widen your scope." She pondered for a moment and looked at her reflection.

"Widen my scope. You mean like Saissis and Nathaniel? She's a flutter and he's a winged. Oh and your mom and dad were different too. Hmm." Her curly tail lied gently upon the surface of the water still not submerged from heavyness. Her little mind was churning thinking of others that might like her. Indeed there was an entire world of Soquili out there that could possibly be right for her. But how in a great melting pot does one as small as her even attempt to head out there and do so. She closed her eyes and thought really hard.

((Hee hee.. Time to get my randosig back in play so all my Soquili can poke their heads in now and then))

Cajmera
"Yes, exactly like that. My dad has wings and my mother doesn't, yet they are obviously happy together. That's why I have wings and my brother doesn't, in theory, yet we're still brothers. Just because we don't look alike also doesn't mean that we can't get along...in theory." Safi had to chuckle at that, as he hadn't seen his brother much since they were foals. Hard to say what changes Soquilis went through between foal and adult, really...so maybe Kohana was less disagreeable.

But that wasn't the issue; the issue was Shaylee, and from the looks of things, that was starting to improve. "Just think on that. Flutters might have matching wings, but that doesn't mean they have matching hearts. Or something like that. I had a really good concept there, but since I have no idea how to finish it, I'm going to leave the tail to your imagination." Many Soquili would probably have been a bit chagrinned to have lost their fire, but to Safi it was nothing to worry about. He knew what he meant, and that was the important thing!

Rein_Carnation
She nodded her head listening as little gears began turning clockwise beneath the thick skull protecting her thoughts and memories. Maybe finding someone without wings would be fun. A unicorn even crossed her mind or even one with both a horn and wings. She pondered those she had met along with others waiting to be found.

"Yeah with or with out" she said with a giggle, "Ya know you remind me of a brother I never had" she chuckled to herself simply now balancing her midrift upon the water's gentle surface. Indeed it felt refreshing to rock gently against her tender belly.

"I'll find someone to make me feel special again. That's what counts most now. Azure made me sad but I'm a happy flutter racing faster then the best of them." she stated with a wink knowing in her heart she really could acheive that goal.

Cajmera
"I remind you of someone that you've never met, huh? Well, you sure have an accomodating memory, Shaylee! But I hope that when you refer to me as a brother, it's in a good way...because when my blood brother Kohana describes me as such, it's usually in the negative." Laughing, Safi paddled in a slow semi-circle around Shaylee, his course carrying him into shallow water. Feeling the bottom of the river underfoot he smiled slightly to himself, then glanced up at the sky where the sun was starting to sink low on the horizon. This had sure been fun, but...

Turning back to face Shaylee, he tossed his wet mane, then fanned his damp wings, then flipped his tail. "You'll find the perfect guy, Shay; you've got all the perk and bubbly-ness you need to win some lucky fellow over and reduce him to jelly...and the feirocity to keep him in his place, if I'm any guess of Soquili temperament!" He gave her a teasing wink at that, then jerked his head skywards. "It's been fun talking to you, Shaylee, but I have to hoof it if I'm going to get where I need to before it gets dark. Hopefully we'll meet again, and you can update me on your quest."

With that, he turned around and started up the bank, pausing only at the top of the hill to give Shaylee a smile and the slightest of bows. "Until then, stay perky!" Tossing back his head in laughter, the pale stallion spread his wings and with a mighty flap took off into the evening sky. Roaming was part of his nature, after all...and it was time to move on.

Rein_Carnation
Shaylee watched him travel onward toward the shoreline where it was indeed a lot dryer than where she was soaking in water that her coat was so heavy her wings grew tired for a change. Then the teetering of balance followed causing herself to drag that drenched carcass upon the ground where she could drip dry.

As her galloped off she yelled out behind him, "That I will Safi and thank you! I'll find someone even better than Azure you watch."

With that she shook out the excess water letting her coat dry fully before she tried out her wings taking her to the air. She would indeed heed his advice and find someone. This the flutter known as Shaylee promised herself.

rp log; prp between Indawo and Tori

Cajmera
Translucent bubbly wings gleamed in the sunlight as they spread wide, flexing to their full span as their owner slid into a full body stretch, wings, neck, and legs all extending and cracking slightly. It was a gorgeous morning, and Indawo had just enjoyed perhaps the best sleep he'd ever had; he'd have to remember this place. But now... "Let's see...I know that there was a river around here somewhere...and an apple tree." A bath and breakfast sounded good; so, having stretched himself as well as was necessary, he trotted off in what seemed like a likely direction.

samus x
Tori trotted along the river, after having gotten a cold drink. she wondered if she might meet anyone today. stopping where she was, she felt the need to splash about the river for fun and to cool off. smirking eh went in knee deep into the river and started to prance about. the cool water felt good and after words she thought she might go find a apple or soemthing.

Cajmera
Though he was the type that tended towards moroseness, Indawo usually started the day off in a good mood, and today was no exception. Humming happily to himself, he strolled through the tall grass, his ears perked forwards in anticipation (and to help hear the river!). His earlier observations hadn't failed him, and before long the clear sound of running water was present. "Ah...looks like it'll be another glorious day!" As soon as the words were out of his mouth, he'd come to the top of a little rise, and the river spread out before him like a shining ribbon. "Perfect!"

samus x
Tori prance out of the water after geting cooled off enough. shaking her mane and flicking her tail, she felt good this day. looking about she wondered if anyone was about. seeing no one currently as she did not look at the little rise that was not too far off, she decided would go walk down the river a bit then find somethign to do next. another smirk spread across her lips and as she decided to blot down the river for fun.

Cajmera
Enjoying the view as he was, Indawo was nonetheless surprised when a mare moved into his field of vision. Somehow, he'd been under the impression that he was the only one out here...but, thinking about it, he realized he'd often been wrong like that these days. Good thing he wasn't rabidly anti-social, at the least.

Consequently, after a moment of looking, he shrugged his shoulders and started down towards the river. As he did so, he smiled pleasantly at the mare. "Good morning to you"

samus x
Tori stopped as she saw the stallion and barely heared he say 'good morning to you'. giving a chuckle, she trotted over to him with a smile. " and good morning to you to."giving a nod to him, she was always the polite and friendly type. " so what brings you here today?"

Cajmera
Blinking a moment, Indawo regarded the mare with surprise; he really hadn't expected anything but a passing 'good morning' as the two went passing each other by. Still, it only took him that moment to regain his composure, then he was smiling once more. "Just thought I'd see what there was in the vein of a swim and a bite to eat over here; how about you?"

samus x
Tori then chuckled again at the stallion. " i see, well thats always good. me i was pondering what i should do next after i was just out from a swim myself." she was actualy still a bit wet from her so called swim. " oh and i forgot to introduce myself. im tori and you are?" she knew he had not expected her to stop and start talking to him but hey she always like to meet someone new.

Cajmera
"Well, if you've already been, you'd probably be a good authority on the state of the water, wouldn't you?" Now that was over his original surpirse, Indawo had shifted in 'socialbility mode' with relative ease; as long as no attention was paid to his wings, he could remain like that for a decent length of time, after all. "And I'm called Indawo, or Indy; nice to meet you, Tori."

samus x
" hmmmm i suppose so." Tori chuckled again and had always been one easy to talk to. " i say the water is quite nice. and its nice to meet you too Indawo." she then thought for amoment about his nick name indy and thought it was a good one. " hmmm i think the nick name Indy suits you." saying that for not piticuler reason, she smiled at Indawo.

Cajmera
At the comment about his nickname, Indawo found himself smiling a bit more pronouncedly as well. "Well...my friend Safi always called me Indy when we were foals, and it sorta stuck; though these days, I'm not called Indy for lack of being able to pronounce my real name." He turned then and looked at the water, sparkling crsytaline blue in the morning light. "But if the water is warm..." Smiling roguishly, he leapt forward into the water with a mightly SPLASH!

samus x
Tori smirked. " i see well i think i shall call you indy cause its a nice nickname." she then watched him splash into the water. which he splashed her in the process but she did not mind. giving a laugh, she charged in after him. " i'll get you for the splashing." she said jokingly and giggled a bit.

Cajmera
"Oh, so you'll get me, huh Tori? Well, you'll have to excuse me if I think otherwise!" Laughing, Indawo paddled out deeper into the water, away from her as she entered the water. "And it wasn't like I splashed you intentionally, anyway!" At that, he stuck out his tongue, but the merry glitter remained in his eyes

samus x
Tori grinned at indawo. "oh really well its on now. and i know you did not, but i rather have soem fun geting you back anyways." giggling she was having fun, as she pranced around in the water and stuck her tounge back out at Indawo. she then splashed purposely at Indawo in play.

Cajmera
"Oh, so you want to do it like that, huh? Well, in that case...this is war, Tori!" Indawo's declaration was punctuated by a yelp as Tori's splash hit him, causing his formerly bushy mane to become plastered to his head and his ears to flatten. "If it's a water fight you want...then it's a water fight you'll get!"

With that, he spread his wings for extra propulsion in the water, then dove at Tori, backwinging and sending a massive wave in the mare's direction.

samus x
Tori then smirked at his declaration of a water war. but the was highly amazed at how he used his wings to fling the water at her in a massive wave. " oh you got it Indy." backing you and only some what rearing, she managed to keep the water from going over her head and come back down and caused her own big wave of water at Indawo. still smirking, she was having a load of fun.

Cajmera
Alright, this was total all-out war! While this time it would have been possible for Indawo to avoid the wave, instead he brought his shimmery wings up to cover his head and simply dove through it, attempting to use the element of surprise to succede at a stealth attack! "Oh, you're so going down, Tori!"

samus x
Tori blinked in surprise as he went right into her wave and came at her. smirking she moved out the way as quick as possible. " oh its so on Indy!." chuckling she tryed splashing another wave at him .

Cajmera
Alright, maybe this was just a wee bit silly, but at the same time the feeling of splashing around in the cool water was more than a little bit pleasant. It was a hot day, and walking around with a heavy coat could cause even the daintiest of Soqs to sweat...so Indawo wasn't going to complain about getting a little wet!

Swimming backwards in the water, he used the churned up water and waves as the perfect chance for a sneak attack; as the waves were sent crashing at him, he dove at them, and then disapeared...

samus x
Tori blinked and looked about as Indawo disapeared into the water. looking about, she wondered how he managed to do that. shaking her head, she could not believe he managed to slip away from her. chuckling she waited to see if he might pop back up again.

Cajmera
Using the churning water to his advantage, the cheetah stallion swam along under the water right up to where Tori was. Grinning a bit to himself, he swam up, then took her ankle in his mouth and jerked downward.

((Sorry it's so short!))

samus x
(( tis fine xD ))

Tori gasped as her ankle was pulled down on. smirking she had a guess who pulled on it as she got up from the pull. " oh a nasty trick Iny but a good one." chuckling she was geting woren out from all the play. " i shall have to repay that little favor some other time when im not woren out." giving a chuckle she was having a good time.

Cajmera
Grinning internally, Indawo swam a little distance away, then resurfaced, smiling over at Tori. "So, enjoying the water? I must say that you look like you're really getting into it." His eyes sparkled with mischief as he tossed his head, trying to get his clinging mane out of his eyes. Really, it was times like this that he was happy not to have one of those really really long manes like he'd seen on other males; they must be killer to get out of the way when wet! "And what little favor is it that you're talking about?"

samus x
Tori chuckled with a smirk on her faec and gave a wink at him. " ofcourse and its more enjoyable when the other is having fun too. and you will see Indy." giving a mischief smirk to him again she shook her mane a little that was now shoking wet.

Cajmera
"Well, unless you're one of those sadists, it is highly enjoyable to be with others that are having fun." Jeez, just listen to him; obviously Safi was starting to rub off on Indawo, because that was absolute gibberish! "At any rate...we'll see who splashes the last splash, I guess!"

rp log; prp between Safi and Aruna

Cajmera
A gentle breeze blew over the landscape, ruffling the grass, leaves, and flowers, as well as the mane and tail of Safi as he stood leaning against a rock. The feathers attached to his ears and tail moved slightly as well, and there was a slight smile on his face. It was a good day...and for once, he wasn't on the move.

PhoenixGuardianMikazuki
The breeze that was blowing felt good against her body. It had been a while since she had felt such a nice, relaxing breeze. Actually, she could barely remember the last time she truly relaxed. She was a tense mare, always on her guard. Few Soquili knew her to not be guarded, but she was slowly letting loose her emotions. Slowly. But not quite--she still wanted to maintain some type of control over them, but for the moment, she allowed a soft smile to spread over her features.

Cajmera
Well, that had been a nice moment. Still, it wasn't much longer before Safi tossed his head, readjusting his mane and feathers; time to wander on. He could use a place to settle down for the night, after all, and the sooner he was moving, the sooner that he'd be successful in his quest. Lately he'd had good luck at finding what he was looking for...

...And apparently, he was good at finding what he wasn't looking for, as well. The stallion hadn't gone very far before he stopped in almost mid-stride; a flash of brown amidst the green grass had attracted his attention, and as he peered towards it, he was able to identify it as a Soquili...and one he knew, at that. "Aruna?"

PhoenixGuardianMikazuki
Aruna blinked as a vaguely familiar voice hit her ears. She turned, and was surprised to see a stallion she hadn't thought she'd get to see again. "Safi?" She asked, surprised delight in her tone.

"I hadn't expected to see you again! How've you been?" She hadn't seen the Wind stallion in a long time. She had met many, and Safi was one of her favorite friends, and one of her very first, at that.

Cajmera
="Cajmera"]"Such shock iin your tone; are you telling me that you don't care to see me, Aruna? I can leave, if you want." Grinning ear to ear, the stallion walked through the grass over to Aruna, his dancing eyes and teasing tone plainly belying his actual words. He hadn't seen Aruna in a dog's age, after all, so the fact that he was seeing her now made him quite pleased.

"I'm doing well, myself; just been up to the same old, same old of roaming about aimlessly. How about you? Anything new and exciting been going on in your life?"

PhoenixGuardianMikazuki
Aruna rolled her eyes good naturedly and smiled softly. "When was the last time we saw each other? And no, don't leave. It's just been so long I never thought I would get to see a nice face like yours again. But if you want it that way, you can leave."

She teased him back for teasing her, and then nodded. "Well, same thing here, not too much has happened, really. Well..." Aruna wondered if she should tell Safi what had happened to her just a few weeks ago, but maybe not. Oh, she trusted him, but he might not get it. Or he might, but what could she do?

Cajmera
"It certainly was a while ago, that much I remember; the river was much higher than it is now last time we talked, so we can use that as a placement. Not that it matters how much time has passed, or how much will pass in the future, as long as we make the most of now, right?" With that combination of the philosophical and the overexaggerated, Safi was content to leave off; after all, there was such a thing as a decent stopping point, right? "But alright, since you don't have an issue, I'll stay...and that's a good thing, since I could use a rest, anyway."

As if to demonstrate that point, he cery deliberatly flopped down in the grass, grinning at Aruna from his new nest. But at her trailing off, he raised a brow; he liked to think he wasn't dense, and the look on her face seemed one of upset, to some degree. "Well? Something happen, Aruna?" No sooner were the words out of his mouth when he found himself wondering if that was an acceptable question; mares sometimes had things that they didn't like to discuss, after all. "That is, if you wish to discuss it. It's none of my business, after all."

PhoenixGuardianMikazuki
"Yes, the river was far higher than what it is now," Aruna said, agreeing completely. "I completely agree with you on that thought, Safi," she said, chuckling. "So you'll stay? Just because I don't have an issue? Safi, how could you?"

It seemed only Safi could get her playful side to come out... she wasn't sure if there was anyone else out there who would, besides Shadowfax, of course. As Safi plopped down on the grass, she felt inclined to roll her eyes, and did so, laying down in front of him in a more graceful and dignified way.

"Something did happen, Safi, but it was a long time ago." She nodded to herself; she had gotten over it, and the only thing that pained her was when memories came back. "It could be your business if you nosed about long enough." She laughed softly then, knowing full well he was as curious as could be.

Most of her other friends were. It felt nice to talk about her problems now and then, but it was better if she spoke about them within family and with the problem itself.

Cajmera
"Well, you know me, Aruna; I do so hate to be obtrusive and all that whatnot." Whuffing at some grass in front of his nose, Safi grinned at Aruna, widening it as she too flopped down in the grass. "So, you're not so dignified that you won't lie down? Good show!" Still, he saw her roll her eyes, so he did the same in an exageratted and overblown fashion. After all, the best way to show someone how silly they could be was to mimic them!

He wasn't really sure how he ought to respond to the comment about the bothering, though; he might be insanely curious, but he was also almost physically incapable of being serious; consequently, the best solution seemed to be to leave the subject be. She knew she could talk to him if she wanted, after all, and that was all that really mattered. "While nosing about sounds like it could be lots of fun, I think that I'll take a raincheck on it for now; too muh effort on a day this hot!"

PhoenixGuardianMikazuki
Aruna glared at him for copying her, but her glare softened into an exasperated look. "I'm not so dignified? Was that the kind of aura I gave off? Hm, that's good to know." She half-grinned at him. "Really, now, Safi--I can tell you're quite curious. Hm... shall I keep torturing your curiosity?"

She could only silently laugh at him. She knew he was literally incapable of being serious, therefore it was actually pretty funny to see that he wanted to know what was up with her. "You're that hot already? You're white and blue, and look at me--I'm brown! I feel the heat more than you, and you've got your wings to help cool you down! Quit complaining!" she scolded gently, though she gave a light-hearted giggle.

"Geez, I hope I don't sound like your mother; I hear Celendria's fair quiet, according to my dad."

Cajmera
"Aru's aura...catchy. But yes, like it or not, you have the perpetual impression of dignity hovering about you; makes me wonder that you're so willing to hang around with a goofball like me!" Safi punctuated his point by blowing heavily at a dandelion nearby, causing a cascade of little fluffy seeds to flaot past Aruna.

"But now, moving on to the next point, I"ll have you know that just because you're a little bit darker than I am doesn't mean you're hotter. You're smaller than I, and therefore have less surface area visible to the sun. And blue absorbs heat quite nicely, as do wings when they're not moving, thank you kindly." Sticking his tongue out at her, he nonetheless had a merry twinkle in his eye; it was fun to banter with Aruna, moreso now that she actually bantered back.

"And you know...I wouldn't know if Mum sounded like that or not. Never been around to be scolded!"

PhoenixGuardianMikazuki
"Ah... Ah-choo!" Aruna sneezed as the dandelion Safi glew at her brushed across her nose. She wrinkled her nose a bit, and then, without meaning to, burst out laughing. "Catchy... hahaha... You're not goofball, Safi! You're silly, and that's what makes me like you. And your wings, of course!"

She winked at him. "I'll have you know I have this obession with winged horses..." She stood and nudged as his wings. "So pretty. I wish I could fly like you!" She chuckled and plopped down next to him. She was feeling oddly carefree... "Yes, yes, I am quite hot--so I lied." She stuck her tongue out at him. "But can't you use your wings to waft some wind against your body?"

Cajmera
"Bless you." The repsonse was automatic, so Safi almost, almost managed to say it with a straight face. Then Aruna's expression of scrunched-noseishness became too much for his humorous sensibilities, and he started laughing as well. "And I resent you saying that I'm not a goofball...I've gotten attached to that monniker, so having it revoked would make me sad. You wouldn't want me to be sad, would you?" With that, he flashed her a puppy dog eye look, big and sad.

Naturally, that didn't last long either before he was back to his usual grin. "Yeah, I'd heard of your wing fetish before, though I won't say from who." He nodded his head secretively, then grinned and ostentatiosly fanned his wings. "And flying isn't all it's cracked up to be, just so you know." But he could be a good sport; so he flapped his wings a few times, causing a mighty gust to cool them both, at least temporarily.

PhoenixGuardianMikazuki
"Thank you," came the automatic response to his "bless you", and Aruna chuckled. "Fine, fine. Oh, don't look at me like that!" She didn't think Safi looked good with such an expression. "Oh, fine, fine, you're a goofball. Still silly though!" She stuck her tongue out at him once again, and laughed.

"Did you now? Tell me who told you!" She nipped at his wings, feeling better as he cool them both down. "Ah, thank you for that, Safi." She smiled. "Are you so sure? Flying above the clouds... and flying the stars... I'd always dream of doing that. I don't see how it's not all cracked up to be, as you say."

Cajmera
"Well, there's no reason that I can't be a silly goofball!" Pleased to have reacquired his title, Safi settled back down with his normal not-pitiful expression. Besides, it was too hard for his face to hold that expression for any length of time anyway!

At her n**, he swatted at her with a wing, however. "No biting! You ought to know not to bite the wing that fans you; just for that, I'm not fanning anymore." With that, he folded his wings tightly back against his body with the closest he could muster to a wounded expression; that one didn't last long either, though. "Well, flying's okay, but learning frankly sucks, and you never know if it's going to start raining, or if you're going to get caught up in a heavy wind, and sometimes you can't see anything solid to land on and you're flying too long when you're tired...and crash landings are fun. No, walking is a bit better."

PhoenixGuardianMikazuki
Aruna sighed as the wind from Safi's wings stopped. "Well, if you're tired, you can stop. I'm not biting at them!" She moved away a bit from him. "I was nipping! There's a difference!" She barely dodged the swat he gave her when she nipped, and was brushed with his feathers slightly.

"Hahahaha, okay, okay, I see the downside to flying now, too!" Aruna said, rolling her eyes good naturedly. "There are downsides to walking, too, you know--if you get lost, you can't just fly up and look around to get your bearings! And it doesn't help that I'm small, either, you know. I could be prey in the next instant! You have to be cautious a lot when you can't fly."

Cajmera
"Nipping, biting, both imply the contact between teeth and various body parts that are best left intact." Yet again, Safi found himself sticking his tongue out at Aruna, but that left him thinking that he definitely needed to come up with some other kind of secondary retort; sticking one's toungue out could be so repetitive! Ah well, maybe next time. "And I never said I was tired; believe it or not, I am actually possessing a great deal of physical stamina."

At that, the stallion finally rose to his feet, stretching a little bit to ease the stiffness in his joints. "As to the whole flying thing, I concede that there might be a few perks to flying, but overall it's not as nice as walking. Besides, isn't wondering about it a waste of time anyway?"

rp log; prp between Indawo and Awnaety

Cajmera
His head tilted backwards, Indawo walked up the side of a grass-covered hill, his gaze fixed on the large fruit tree that sat at the summit, large round apples hanging from it's branches. He could do with a bite to eat, after the long afternoon he'd just spent roaming about. After all, the stallion was just as liable to feel hungry as anyone else, right? Thus, the appearance of the fruit tree was most beneficial

Chamain
Standing around made her tired. The mare wanted to chew on something, sniffing the air above, she could smell an apple tree nearby. Smiling, she thought of big juicy apples she can munch on. Here I come! Trotting over, she could see them, just dangling and the light breeze made them spin. Awnae looked for the best one she could see. As the wind blew a bit harder, an apple broke of the branch and fell to the ground. Quickly running towards it, she grabbed it with her mouth and ran. Suddenly doing a sharp turn and she ended up being right in front of the huge tree. The smell of it was just amazing. Nothing better than the smell of apples in the afternoon.

Cajmera
Focused as he was on the apple tree ahead of him, Indawo would have to be a blind beetle to not notice the sudden appearance of the mare; at first, he was taken aback; he'd been wanting a solitary apple munch, and the fact there was another present kind of muddled that plan. But then, after he'd stared for a moment, he realized that there was no reason he still couldn't enjoy an apple. Squaring his shoulders, he trotted the rest of the way up the hill, nodded at the mare politely, then nabbed an apple of his own.

Chamain
A stallion appeared and seems to want a apple. As he got closer and grabbed one too. She smiled and nickered to him. "Well hello to you." The mare then trotted towards a patch of grass which were very green. Grabbing the grass, she chewed on it. Trotting back over to the tree, she looked up at an apple, which was green instead of red. This one just reminded her of the grass she was eating.

Cajmera
Since his mouth was full of apple, all that Indawo did in response to the greeting was nod his head pleasantly, then chow down on the apple. It wasn't a very big apple, so it really didn't take long to eat it, anyway. "Good afternoon to you, Ma'am; lovely day for an apple, eh?"

Chamain
"Yes. A wonderful day for a nice big apple." She replied. This male was her third male that she've seen an image on it's rump, or was it the second only. She couldn't remember, but she knew it was 2nd or 3rd. "What brings you out here today?" Awnae said before realising he has wings. They were shining in the sun, and she couldn't keep her eyes off of them.

Cajmera
Shrugging his shoulders, Indawo leaned over to nab a mouthful of grass, chewing it slowly, and then swallowing it. "Just wandering around, got hungry, saw the tree, decided to get a bite; nothing excessively complicated. How about you?" As he spoke, he was aware of the mare's gaze on his wings, causing him to sigh inwardly; yet another instance of those horrid thing attracting attention!

Chamain
As he was don speaking, she shook her head and looked at him instead of his wings now. "Oh no, smelt apple here, so I guess I wanted one at the moment. By the way, your wings are nice." Smiling at the stallion, another apple fell to the ground, quickly trotting over to grab it, she started to chew on it slowly. Apples here are very good.. She though to herself. Remembering that they didn't know each other yet. "I almost forgot, my name is Awnaety, just use Awnae please." Nodding at him before staring at another apple up in the tree.

Cajmera
"I see..well, the apples here certainly taste nice." Smiling politely, Indawo crunched up another mouthful of grass, then decided to follow the mare's example and take another apple. "And they provide a decent dose of energy, too, which is quite nice. Oh, and I'm called Indawo." He didn't comment on the wing thing at all, deciding that the best way to ignore them was to just...not talk about them; and as he was very sensitive about them, not talking about them was easy.

Chamain
"Nice to meet you." Awnae bowed and then started to trot away towards the river. "Going to get a drink of water...want to come?" The mare wanted at least a little bit of company, of course if he didn't want to, she could alwas get Dawati, her familiar. He seemed a little uneasy about his wings, but Awnae didn't want to say anything about it if he wasn't going to say anything back about her comment on his wings. She left it for him to decide, if he didn't want to come, then he won't. If he did, then he would follow her. Trotting off, the mare smelt the air again and smiled. Water is fresh... Taking a quick sip, she looked back to where she came from and tried to see if she could see Indawo.

Cajmera
"Hrm..." Well, there didn't seem to be any harm in Awnae, and he WAS thirsty...so Indawo decided he might as well. "I could probably do with a drink, perhaps even a swim; after all, wandering around can be pretty draining work." Smiling slightly, the stallion turned and headed off in the direction Awnae had gone in; she certainly knew the area better than he did!

Chamain
After a few months of living on the land, it wasn't too hard to travel no more. Unlike her aunt, she could navigate pretty well around these areas. "Well, glad that you decided to join me." Taking another sip, but a long one. It was good, fresh water and even if the water fal was far away, you could still here it. That was the place where most on the unis would be, although you rarely ever see any.

Cajmera
"Meh, I"m not as rabidly socialpathic as some." Indawo even managed to deliver the somment with a straight face, which was rather surprising. Still, he'd just eaten, so he was consequently in a good mood. Lowering his head to the water, he took a long, cool drink, a satisfied smile on his face. Now THIS was good water... "So, do you live in this area, then?"

Chamain
Lifting her head from the water, she smiled. "I live in the forest." Nodding. "How about you? Where do you live?" Awnae looked at the markings on him, polkadots and a funny animal on his rump. An animal Awnae has never seen before, but judging by the looks of it, she knew it was an animal. "Very nice image you have their." Pointing with her nose to the animal thing on him

Cajmera
"The forest, huh? That must be a pleasant place to be this time of year." Indawo nodded his head as he raised it up, looking back at Awnae. At her comment, he turned to look at his marking as well; he'd never really paid much attention to it. "That? It's a cheetah...so I've heard. I think that they're supposed to be very fast animals."

Chamain
"Oh really?" Looking more closely at it, she can kinda see a cat animal thing. "Does that mean you're fast?" Awnae knew that an image can't affect your abilities, but who knows, maybe this image was put on him showing that he was fast. "Yes, the forest is a wonderful place in the summer. In fall, the leaves are very colorful. It would be like living on a rainbow. In Winter...er...a bit chilly." Nodding cheerfully.

Cajmera
Once again, Indawo found himself shrugging his shoulders. "Can't say I'm good at deciding if I'm fast or not; that mark has just always been there. Something to do with my pattern, I believe, because my Dad and siblings are kinda similar." Looking back from the cheetah to the mare, he listened with a slightly interested expression; he wasn't in the woods that much, as he found the trees to be restrictive. "Sounds like it's a pleasant place to live, if you're into that sort of situation..."

Chamain
Smiling, she still remembered he didn't answer her question. "Where do you live?" Tilting her head to one side, she looked at all those spots on him. There were at least 20 on his back. Probably a lot more though. Sniffing the air, Awnae smiled and looked at Indawo. "This would be a wonderful time for a afternoon walk. Want to come along? I'm probably going to the beach. Never really been there but I know how to get there." Starting to walk off towards the beach. "It will be nice to watch the sunset."

Cajmera
"Live?" At that, Indawo tilted his head to the side, pondering on that for a moment. "Well...I stay with a two-legger over by the lake from time to time..but I really can't say that I have any place that I really live." As he spoke, he started along beside Awnae, having nothing better to do at the moment. "And a walk sounds like a decent way to kill some time..."

Chamain
He doesn't live with anyone? Awnae just shook her head and continued to walk on. She always wanted to be free and run around, instead of being stuck with someone and had to live with them all day. Thi wasn't really a problem though, what Awnae wanted is usually what she got. "Life is good." Smiling to the stallion. Once they reached the beach, they just made it in time for the beautilful sunset. "This is a wonderful view isn't it?"

Cajmera
"Oh, it's pretty nice." Although frankly, Indawo's attention was more focused on the sandy beach than on the sunset. As a frequently nocturnal wanderer, sunsets were a common enough occurance; however, he couldn't remember the last time he'd felt the pleasant sensation of sand underfoot. Additionally, the salty smell of the water was a nice change of pace from the heavy, musky scent of the forest and the crisp smell of the meadow. "I can see why this part of the world is so popular, actually..."

Chuckling to himself, the stallion stood still for a moment, simply looking out over the beach. Perhaps he'd stick to this region for a while; the beach certainly looked like it went on for a decent ways!

Chamain
"Wow..." Awnae was just amzed by the scenery and how beautiful everything here was. "This is my first time here and I'm pretty impressed with this all." Sniffing the air, you could definetly smell the salt water and the sand was just cooling down. After sitting in the same plce under the sun, it is sure to be very hot. "The sand is so soft too." The wind pushed her hair back from her face, making her curls float and wiggle. "What a great place to be."

Cajmera
Tilting his head to one side, Indawo looked at the mare with something akin to surprise at her words; she'd never been here before, yet she desired to go? Ah well, when he really thought about it, that was no stranger than some of the quirks he'd noticed in other Soquilis he'd spent time with. "Yes, it's a very nice spot. Gives a hint of why it's so often talked about, at any rate."

With that, he began to stroll down the beach, his hooves sinking into the powdery sand with each step. It was warm...both the sand and the sun; a nice change from all the chilly air and cold rain of the recent past.

Chamain
Quickly following the stallion, she wondered where he was going. Was there something he sees that she can't, or just that he wanted to move. "Hmmm...crabs..." Seeing a red hardshell thing, she smiled and looked closely at it. Snapping it's claws so close to Awnae's nose, she took a few steps back. "Nasty little thing..." Sticking out her tongue at it. "Hmph..."

Cajmera
At Awnae's comment, Indawo paused and looked backward, making a face at the sight of the small red crustaceans. "Never cared too much for the little crusties...they are far too temperamental." One or two run ins with crayfish in the streams was enough for him to establish a firm dislike of the family. "I suggest you give them space."

As though demonstrate, he began to pick his footing a bit more carefully as he walked along.

Chamain
Snorting at the crab she continued walking after Indawo. "Where are we going exactly?" she asked curiously. More hard shells started to appear and a few birds were flying around pecking at them. Ha....getting eaten huh? Smirking at the crabs, she watched. They deserve it... Clearing her throat, she stopped and looked far across the ocean, she could see ripples. I wonder what could be in these waters...

Cajmera

As Awnae spoke, Indawo looked back at her over his shoulder, a slightly surprised look in his eyes. "Um, we're not really going anywhere in particular; I just felt like taking a little wander. The sand feels good underfoot and all that sort of thing, you know?" He wasn't exactly sure what she meant if it was anythin other than a completely literal 'where', as he really had no particular destination in mind and was simply rambling along. After all, it was a gorgeous day, with warm weather, the birds were calling...yeah, nice stuff. "Why, did you want to go somewhere?"

Chamain
"Oh no. I was just asking. Seeing that you're walking off." Nodding with a smile. "Well, we could go somewhere if you wish to. I don't have anything on my mind. But I have to say this is a wonderful spot to be." Stopping where she was, the mare stood and lifted her head high. Hearing waves and a bit of water hit her feet, made her jump. Whew...jsut water...

Cajmera
"Good; just wanted to make sure that I wasn't interfering with any plans." Not that he really had any idea what those plans might be, it was simply that Indawo tried his hardest to be an accomodating stallion, particularly as this whole jaunt was really Awnae's idea. "And actually, I agree with you; this place seems decent enough, and since I basically wander all the time anyway...my vote is that we stay here."

Chamain
"Yes, stay here." The time went fats and not a single word came from both, Awnae couldn't stand silence. Walking towards the water, just walked in and let the waves come and wash her. A satisfied sigh came from the mare, she just stod there and waited for Indawo to say something. Plus, she didn't felt like saying something currently. Not until someone else talks.

Cajmera
For a moment, the stallion stood and watched the mare wade, then shrugged his shoulders. Obviously she wanted a cool-down; he could do with one himself, but was thinking along slightly different lines. Looking down at the sand, he made sure that there were no creatures in his immeadiate area, then flung himself down and began to roll vigorously.

Chamain
Hearing movement behind her, she tunred her head and saw Indawo rolling. "What are you doing?" She asked, tilting her head to one side. Is he itchy or something...? One of her eyebrow arched and her orbs kept watching him. It was odd why he all of a sudden just fall and roll on sand. Walking out of the water, she looked down at him and watched closely if he was squishing something, or he was on fire, or...something that she just couldn't see at first glance.

Cajmera
Pausing only the tiniest bit, Indawo glanced over at Awnae from his position down in the sand. "Rolling. Don't you ever roll, Awnae?" He raised a brow at her curiously, then rolled a little bit more, wriggling his shoulders and wings deeper into the sand for good measure. It was so nice and abrasive, and it actually matched his fur tone almost perfectly; consequently, the end result was a half buried stallion.

prp; Safi and Flame

Celeanor

It was unlike the golden stallion to be gone for so long, and even more unlike him to have vanished in anger. So as the days turned to weeks, Flame began to regret his hurtful words, and set out on his own to find the lad he had begun to think of as his son.

"Gully... do you smell that?"
"I smell you.. are you a that?"
"..."

Smiling good naturedly, the white bear trotted up to the fiery stallion, eagerly awaiting an answer and perhaps a kind word for having smelled what Flame wanted him to smell.

But after being with the bear for so long, Flame sighed a long suffering sigh and remained silent but for a slight shake of his head. Averting his eyes when he caught the dejected slump of the bears shoulders.

"Sorry.." Gully mumbled, and dropped back behind the big soquili, vowing silently to report any unusual smells he came across.

Cajmera
"Strange..." Pausing almost in mid-stride, Safi turned his head about, scanning the landscape about him. Since he'd moved out of the river valley area, he hadn't seen or heard anyone else around...but all of a sudden he had the weird prickling of his mane that informed him that something else was out there. Granted, he couldn't see anything around him..but he just felt like he ought to.

Then again, maybe he was just lonely from being on his own so long. Who could say?

Celeanor

Far beyond feeling sorry for his silence, the stallion of fire continued along the path doggedly, his eagle-gold eyes scanning the forest gloom, wishing to see a hint of burnished gold amid the summer leaves.

Behind Flame, the white bear Gully lumbered along, as noisy as the stallion was silent in their passing. And Gully couldn't help but notice how the soquili avoided dry sticks and other noisemakers with a practiced ease... but despite trying to mimic that skill.. Gully found himself bumping into bushes, tree trunks, and stepping on every possible twig that littered the path.

But Flame didn't seem to notice the loud racket of his partner, until a flare of his nostrils took in an unfamiliar scent on the wind. Instantly he stopped, and motioned for Gully to do the same. But the bear wasn't paying attention, and collided with the big soquili with a loud squeal. "Flame! Why'd you-!"

Cajmera
As Safi stood motionless in the center of the trail, his earws swivelled from side to side in almost constant motion. That feeling that someone else was around was still present; strongly present, in fact. Therefore, there had to be some other indication as to the unseen one's existance...

And very shortly, there was. One swivelling ear froze up as the unmistakable sound of footfalls drifted up the path, accompanied by the usual sounds of movement in a forest: shuffling leaves, cracking twigs, and the like. It wasn't hard for him to figure out what direction the noises were coming from, either, so he turned himself around in the hope of discovery the identity of the stranger. It would have helped if he wasn't upwind of whoever it was; then at least he'd know the species! But as it was, he could be patient; after all, he was only curious.

Celeanor

"Why'd you stop like that!!! I could have broken my foot!!" the bear raged, his fustration welling up in the tone of his voice and glistening eyes that threatened tears.

But Flame could only stare at his usually happy-go-lucky companion in complete and utter shock. What the hell...

Met by the stallions usual silence, Gully grew even more fustrated, and tears finally did fall as he continued to rant and rave at the soquili, blissfully uncaring of the reason Flame had stopped in the first place.

"And why don't you ever say anything!!! Does the deep brooding mystery guy ALWAYS have to be the deep brooding mystery guy? WAKE UP horse, this is why Tai left, and Celei spends more time in the village, and why Marahute tries to steal your tail hair. By the spirits... WHATEVER happened in your past doesn't make this right-!"

He cut himself off, aware of the line he had just crossed. Years with Flame had taught him to never speak about the stallion's origins, in fact, the one time he had, he almost lost the stallion.

And now I may have lost him for good... the bear thought to himself quietly, staring at his longtime friend with sad eyes as the golden horse gifted him with one long angry glare, then turned on his heel and stalked away.

Cajmera
Cocking one ear intently for trace sounds of his fellow forest traveler, Safi was finally able to pick out the somewhat high-pitched but overall muffled sound of a voice; at least, it seemed to be a voice, albeit one that was speaking very rapidly and unintelligibly. So, either there was more than one thing out there, or he was in the woods wih someone that liked to talk to himself.

Well, given those options, it seemed that there could be worse types to chat with, if a chat was even necessary. At this point, all he really wanted to do was look at just who was out here, as the boredom was starting to become almost as crushing as the surrounding trees. So, after a very short bit of 'should I or shouldn't I", Safi shrugged his shoulders, then started quietly down the path towards where he'd heard the voice.

Her eyes fixed on a fluttering butterfly nearby, the Indian maiden sat contemplatively, her fingers absently twisting her chestnut hair into a braid. Things were quiet and still at the teepee that day; even the usual breeze that came in from the lake was absent. In fact, other than that lone butterfly and the girl, there was no sign of life at all.

As the butterfly finally flew away, the girl sighed softly and rose to her feet, dusting off her leather skirt as she did so. The log she'd been sitting on was a little old, and bits of bark and rotting wood tended to adhere to anything that sat on it, up to and including people. But she was practical; when one lived among nature, one had to expect nature to literally 'rub off' on one.

After smoothing her skirt, Cajji proceded to gently tuck back the eagle feather she wore in her hair, which had fallen out during her braiding, then cast her gaze about the teepee area. All was quiet, all was still...and all was lonely.

Crossing the ground to her teepee, she looked around in what basically amounted to a token glance; she knew very well that her Soquili friends were not around, as they had not been around for days. When she had first taken the two into her life as baskets, she'd been aware that Soquilis traveled...but that didn't change the fact that she missed them. Both were adult stallions now, and while they came back to the teepee from time to time, they were mostly nomadic. And she was alone.

Juat as she'd assumed, neither Indawo nor Safi was about; she might as well just head into the teepee and take a nap. But just as she was about to do so, she was arrested by a sudden sound; the thud of hooves as they hit the ground, and the whoosh as though a pair of wings were being swept back to rest against the back of a Soquili...

One of them was back! Unmistakably those sounds were that of a winged Soq landing after flight, and both of Cajji's friends were winged. Beaming from ear to ear, she whirled to welcome her friend home...but the greeting died on her lips almost instantly. Though there was indeed a Soquili standing before her teepee, it was not one of her friends.

Large and powerful wings spread back from muscular shoulders; a curling mane fell down to well-proportioned haunches, and a thick tail flicked backwards at random intervals. Brilliantly deep blue fur and wing feathers, kissed with gold at the tip, shimmered in the afternoon sun, and dazzling crystaline swirls adorned the lower legs of what might just be the most gorgeous stallion the maiden had ever seen. Surprise had overtaken any other feeling, and all she could do was stare at what seemed to be a beautiful apparation.

As though he knew what was going through the native's mind, the Soquili simply stood for a moment, head held high, as though he were posing. But after a short while, he lowered his head and began to nose around in the grass, settling down for a good graze in the thick clover patch he had landed in.

Her eyes huge and luminous, Cajji simply watched the stallion eat, marveling at how graceful and regal he could make such a mundane thing seem. Suddenly, she had an idea; reaching into her pocket, she pulled out the apple she'd stuck there (which had been meant for her lunch) and clutched it tightly. Maybe, just maybe...

Flattening her palm and holding the apple in it, she walked slowly towards the stallion, hoping that her offering would be taken. It was at this time, as she moved towards him, that she noticecd he bore no dreamcatcher nor neckalce of any kind; he was a wild one, then, who had never lived among the Kawani! That realization hit the girl hard, and she began to tremble. This was just so unexpected!

As the girl's tremors increased, so did her nerves fray bit by bit until she felt like she couldn't stand it any more. The beautiful stallion seemed so content with his clover, he took no notice of her and her offering...none at all. Dejected, she finally lowered first her hand, then her head; wild he was indeed. Well, the least she could do was watch him until he flew away.

Having turned her back on the gorgeous creature, she started to walk back to her teepee; but no more than two steps had she taken when suddenly there came a tug on her hair. Frowning, she reached back; her hand traveled across the twisted braid until it touched something soft and warm...

Almost crying out in surprise, she turned to find herself face to face with brilliant golden eyes. The stallion stood, eyeing her curiously; then his gaze deliberately dropped to the apple.

Letting out a soft cry of delight, the girl held up the apple, smiling as she felt the soft feel of the stallion's muzzle as he lipped it from her hand. Feeling bold by his overture, she reached out (albeit timidly) and stroked his large head, then ran her fingers through his mane. He was so beautiful...shining like a jewel in the sun.

Like a jewel in the sun...that was it! Touching the stallion's cheek gently, she whispered to his close face. "Please...stay here for just a minute." Keeping her eyes on him, she backed herself away towards her teepee and ducked inside. She knew she still had it; she had it tucked away in a special place, even.

"Ah..." Smiling, she pulled her hand out of the shell-box where she kept her greatest treasures. Shining in the palm of her hand was a stone; a tear-drop shaped stone than shimmered the same luminous blue as the Soquili. Obviously, the stone and the stallion were meant to be together, and bring them together she would.

Turning, she removed from its hook on the wall an unfinished dreamcatcher; that would do perfectly. Her face intent with concentration, she hung the stone within the circle of the dreamcatcher, then held it up proudly. Perhaps it was worthy even of such a creature as her brilliant blue friend.

She reached out for the flap of the teepee and flung it open, only receive another surprise; right on the other side was her stallion friend! Tilting his head to one side, the stallion gave her a quizzical look, then took a step forward so that he was half inside the teepee. Obviously, this was not a random occurance; this was a fated meeting!

Trembling once again, the girl stepped up to the stallion, the ends of the dreamcatcher's cords in her hand. Holding her breathe, she reached around the muscular neck of the stallion and tied the ends together, then stepped back to survey her handiwork.

The luminous sapphire hung against his chest, its color matching his as perfectly as if they were born of the same source. Golden eyes looked downwards, as though measuring the adequacy of this new thing that hung around his neck, then looked up at the girl; and it seemed to her that he smiled. That, of course, was the sign for her to let out that breath she was holding, and she did so with almost exageratted relief. "You are as lovely as the gemstone you carry, my friend...so by it's name I shall call you, Zaphiro."

It seemed that Cajji's softly spoken words were a cue, for Zaphiro almost immeadiately backed out of the teepee. Cajji followed, and watched in awe as he spread his dazzling wings. Impressed as she was, she couldn't help but feel a sadness; she had only just found him, and alredy he was leaving her.

But even as she was thinking that horrible thing, Zaphiro turned his head back and once again those golden eyes met hers. For an instant they stared intently at each other, then he gave a mighty downward sweep of his wings and took off into the air.

One hand raised to her heart, Cajji watched him as he became a dark speck in the clear sky, then she started back into her teepee. But her heart was light; in his eyes, she'd seen a promise. He would return to her, she knew he would.

rp log; prp between Meeki and Indawo

Meeki
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

It had been awhile since Meeki had come to the clearing to play. It seemed every time she visited it, she embarassed herself in some grand way. Was she that much of a clutz? Shouldn't she have grown out of such a thing by now?

Of course, fate being the way it was, Meeki spotted a flutter stallion she had run into once before... and made a total fool of herself with. That was the one that didn't like his wings, she reminded herself.

Meeki trotted over cautiously before tossing out a greeting. She meant for it to sound friendly but it seemed more on the verge of hysteria. She tried to smile to make up for the awkwardness.

Cajmera

Surprised, the cheetah-patterned stallion raised his head, looking blankly at the mare who had seemingly appeared out of nowhere. Granted, it made sense that she'd be here...now that he remembered it, this was where he'd run into her originally. But that didn't do anything to dim the shock.

"Well, if it isn't Meeki! You seem...just like you were before." He smiled slightly, a little surprised at her tone as well as what seemed to be timidity on her part. Still, he had to be mistaken about that at least.

Meeki
"Yes, and you.. Indawo, yes? It's good to see you're still around." Meeki tried to keep from glancing at his wings but the more she tried to pull herself away, the more her eyes became fixated upon them. They really were quite beautiful, always were.

Before making the same mistake as last time, she willed her eyes to focus on something else and started looking over the spots along his body. They really were quite noticeable due to the lightness of his coat. She noticed what appeared to be some kind of animal on his rump though she couldn't quite place the creature. Perhaps it was just her eyes playing tricks on her.

"How are you doing, Indawo?", she asked in a more stable and friendly voice.

Cajmera
"Yup, I'm still Indawo, thanks for remembering." Smiling, Indawo rose to a standing position, disliking to be looking up while talking. It was so strange to be talking to Meeki again, in a way...yet at the same time, it was refreshing. Or rather, it had the potential to be refreshing, if she was still as eccentric as she'd been before.

"Things are going pretty decently for me, albeit a little dull these days. Surprising as this must be...there really isn't much to do around here." Perhaps that was why he had wound up back here again; there was simply nothing anywhere to hold his attention.

Not that that seemed to be a problem for Meeki; once again, she seemed to be staring at him. Oh well. "But how about you?"

Meeki
"Oh, I've been good. Well, most of the time. I realized water is not good for my socks. I shall never go jumping into the river again! I almost lost one of them.. the socks that is. I still think that turtle was trying to steal it. But look at me, I'm rambling. Hahaha!"

Meeki had no idea why she was nervous. Perhaps it was simply because she wanted to make a better impression with him than the first time they had met. "I do agree that it can get a little boring around here... but I suppose it could be worse, we could have the wrong kind of excitement in our lives, like facing down a soquili eating Kalona." Meeki lowered her voice to a whisper and leaned closer to Indawo as if letting him in on a big secret, "I hear they like to eat foals when there's a full moon."

Cajmera
...Well, there was that randomness that he'd almost come to expect, and it caused him to break into a slight smile. Though he'd encountered many Soquilis now in his wanderings, there were none that had Meeki's knack for spontenaity. "Well, it's a good thing that you managed to prevent the turtle from stealing your sock; firstly, you'd look off-balance with only three socks, and secondly the turtle would no doubt look ridiculous."

Indawo managed to keep a straight face as he spoke, a trick he must have picked up in dealing with Safi. But he was aware of a tension, one that bothered him slightly. It would be very depressing if Meeki had become like everyone else...

..Or maybe not. The comment about Kalonas {and the seriousness it was told with} caused him to smile a little bit more, and he shook his head. "While I agree that cannibalistic Kalonas would be bad, I can't say that I've ever heard anything about them other than that they tend to be unnaturally vicious. But then, I've never seen one, have you?"

Meeki
Meeki couldn't help but laugh at Indawo's comment about the turtle looking ridiculous. It most certainly would be true! She would be picturing that for days to come now!

"No.. I haven't really seen a Kalona but the others sure seem afraid of them for some reason. I don't know why any Soquili has to be mean, I guess it's just one of those things that I'll never understand. But it's hard not knowing what's true or not when you hear things. I'd much rather believe them to be true just so I can avoid them, I suppose." Meeki really hated the Kalona and she felt bad for it since she never met one but there has to be some truth in things she hears, otherwise so many Soquilis wouldn't hate or fear them, right?

Meeki found herself glancing at Indawo's wings again, trying to build up the courage to ask if anything's changed about them, if he knew how to fly or not. Maybe she wouldn't blunder up so much if she actually put thought into what she said BEFORE she spoke.

Cajmera
"Well, some Soquili are just cruel natured, I'm afraid; it's why the rest of us have to keep on our toes to make sure that such cruel Soquilis aren't free to indulge their darker desires." For a moment, Indawo's face clouded over as he remembered the conversation he'd had with...what was his name, Remy? That sounded right. Well, the conversation he'd had with Remy about stallions who took advantage of their larger size to harrass and bully mares and smaller stallions. Kalonas hadn't been specifically mentioned, but it wasn't necessary to look eveil to BE evil.

But at any rate, that wasn't the issue; he was talking to Meeki, so he really wanted to enjoy the absurdity. Damn, that always seemed to work for Safi, and yet he had so much trouble 'lightening up' for even the shortest periods of time.

"I suppose that it's a safe idea to simply avoid those who give off an aura of danger...flutters like us are at a distinct disadvantage in combat simply because of our..." Frowning, the stallion tried to come up with a proper term; he never should have used himself in the example (even if he was technically a flutter) simply because all the flutter adjectives were horrid. "...our diminutive physical stature. Comparatively." Not great, but it could be worse.

Meeki
"Cruel natured", Meeki repeated, almost as if such a thing couldn't exist. But of course, it had to. She would just have to hope she doesn't come in contact with these cruel natured Soquili.

Her eyes went wide as he acknowledge his race. He called himself a flutter! So he was a flutter! Meeki had suspected all along because of the wings but had been known to make mistakes all along. And his wings were magnificantly unique. "Diminutive.. but you're so much bigger than me. You look positively huge. Besides, the bigger they are, the harder they fall and the longer it takes for them to get back up! Also.. not everyone has...", she paused for a moment before finally adding, "wings. We have an advantage over most. That's not to mention that we are probably able to dart and turn faster on top of that. We are simply underestimated and that works in our favor." A glaze came over the mares eyes. She truly believed everything she said and felt. She loved her race with a passion.

Cajmera
Having spent time with other excitable Soquilis, Indawo knew what it meant when eyes wet wide, and he cringed inwardly. Oh, to think that he had made such an annoying confession; still, anyone who anything about flutters could identify him as one with one eye closed. For one thing, there were his glaringly obvious wings...and then there was the fact that he was rather small for a stallion. Little things, but basically the equivalent of a flashing neon 'FLUTTER' sign.

Heaven help any stallions who tried to belittle him for being a flutter, though! evil

"I'm only large compared to you and other flutter mares, Meeki, which is truly an annoying state of affairs when you're a male. Trust me on this, but on average you females seem to be a little more kind towards each other." Sighing, he glanced back at his wings, which quivered slightly as though they knew they were being addressed. "And there are many Soquilis that have wings that aren't flutters; they have the advantage of size and staying power, at least compared to flutters. As to darting..." He honestly wasn't that fond of flying; he always felt clumsy and overweighted in the air, supported by an unsubstantial pair of wings that just flapped too much. "Meh..."

rp log; prp between Anubis, Safi, and Zaphiro

Xaki
Anubis, wandered into a spot where everything seemed so.. public? The land was clear for miles, tee-pees were dotted along the horizon, and blurry shapes in the distance were assume to be other soquili. Anubis flopped down, his butt sitting on the floor, his posture seemingly of a dog, his blue rippled tail was sprawled over the ground.

"Mm. What is there to do on a fine day like this?" He said sarcastically. It was boredom to hell.

Cajmera
"Wheeeeee!!!!" Squealing happily like a small child at play, Safi ran hell-mell over the clear plains, prairie grass tickling his sides and wings and causing him to punctuate his enthusiastic squeal with the occassional bouts of laughter. Suddenly, without any seeming warning, he screeched to a stop. Instantly, his expression changed from one of gleeful abandon to pleased encouragement. "See? That wasn't hard at all! Now then, you try it and just tell me that you don't feel better!" Grinning from ear to ear, he looked back in the direction that he'd come from, his gaze on the deep blue Soquili that he was currently shouting encouragement at.

"Er..." Back on a low rise, Zaphiro had watched Safi's scamper with a combination of surprise and incredulousity. Certainly this little afternoon jaunt had started simply enough, with he expressing boredom and Safi offering to show him some little entertainments to 'lighten the spirits and pass the time'. At any rate, he hadn't expected a lesson in foal behavior!

Still, he was the mentee, not the mentor; and one thing about Zaphiro was that he always followed through. So, taking a deep breath, the sapphire stallion squared his shoulders...and took off running, as fast as he could. No squeal for him, though; that was just not something that he did. But the running he coul do...the running was fun! The running was-

The running was abruptly brought to a halt as suddenly Zaphiro tripped up on something that was hidden in the tall grass, something that tangled around his leg and sent him pitching forward to the ground. In fact, that something was the tail of Anubis, but all that Zaphiro was truly noticing was the pain of crashing to earth while running at full speed. "Ouch..."

Xaki
Anubis flicked his tail oblivious to the scene that was coming, in turn which the action had caused tripping. By the slip of the tail, Anubis had also been dragged down in the pile on top of Zaphiro. "Wha..?" He said feeling his aching head. But he hadnt hit the ground. Confused, he looked beneath him to see a blue winged soquili underneath him.

"Ergh." The sound resulted in his attempt not to frigging swear. He layed on the new soquili for a few more seconds before standing up, wobbily. His legs were tilted in, shaking as if he was a newborn foal. "Thats what I get for ramming into a full-fledged stallion." He said walking around a bit shakily.

is walking aruptly stopped as he felt something being tugged. He looked behind him to see his tail still attached to a another hoove. He knicked in annoyance before turning around. "Dont you owe me your name or something, seeing as we both were victims of a ..tripping." He said a bit disgusted at the last word. Surely it sounded ridiculous, what happened but it was also through accurate, the word tripping was the only one that could describe this predicament.

Cajmera
"Oof" As if bashing into the ground wasn't bad enough, Zaphiro squawked again in pain as the Soquili he'd snared fell on top of him, knocking any remianing wind he had left clean out of him. Gods, he felt like he'd been beaten to a pulp, and yet all he done was fall!

As the other stallion rose to his feet and walked up, Zaphiro just lay there for a few more minutes, trying to regain his breath. But it was the latent hostility and annoyance in the tone of the stallion that finally caused him to rise, painfully, to his feet; as he did so, he kicked his hoof a few times, distangling it from the strange tail it was enmeshed in. "I think that it was me more than you doing the ramming...and I sincerely apologize for...the tripping." Definitly not a terribly dignified sounding name, but at least it was accurate. Besides that, Zaphiro, stiff and sore as he was, was not about to worry about anything but handling the situation as it was meant to be handled. "I had no idea that you were here, or otherwise I would have picked a different route. Are you hurt badly?"

The words had bearly escaped the sapphire's lips when suddenly another voice broke in on the conversation. "Good grief, Zaphiro, you were supposed to run over the ground, not other Soquilis! Trust me, that's just begging to get yourself threatened, beat up, or at the very least snarled at a good deal. Or else rumpled, and who wants that?" Grinning from ear to ear, Safi sauntered over to the other two, his alert gaze taking in the stiffness and oddness in both Anubis and Zaphiro's stances. "Though things seem to be a bit civil here, at least."

As he finished speaking, he suddenly swept Anubis a slight bow. "I should probably apologize as well, for whatever it is that just happened; Zaph was only acting like a loon because I thought it would be fun to watch, no other reason. So, I suppose you could say that I was the instigator."

rp log; prp between Eloran and Indawo

Cajmera
User Image

Tossing back his mane, Indawo walked through the trees, streams of light piercing the canopy and causing dapples of brightness to accent his black spotted coat. It was a lovely day, he imagined, because otherwise there'd be a lot less light. But at the same time, he couldn't help but feel a little depressed. "Bleh..."

Maybe it was just the fact that he felt bored. Not the productive sort of bored that inspires one to do something, merely the dull, blah sort of bored that makes one instead wish to curl up in a ball...and sleep forever.

Talencia
User Image

Eloran was helping out Talencia with one of his more favorite chores. He had taken the rope-handled bucet and gone for water. He tended not to head for the nearest water, however, using the excuse of fetching water to do a bit of exploring.

This sunny day he had found himself a merry stream that had run deep and clear. He was currently heading back to the teepee, but his thoughts were not on the water or exactly where hew as going. With his teeth clutching the handle of the full water bucket, his ears were turned back in fierce concentration as his hooves moved in unusual ways, almost a sort of dancing step that took all his focus to achieve. He also was trying to do it without sloshing the water out of it's container, and this was much easier said than done.

Thus it was, he came down a path towards the other stallion, not seeing him at all while executing some rather complicated steps as he traveled along. His eyes were nearly closed as he concntrated on where to pleace each of his hooves as he practised.

Cajmera
His thoughts dwelling on nothing in particular, Indawo plodded down the path, his gaze flickering absently from the trees to the lights to his own plodding hooves. This particular piece of woodlands was unfamiliar to him, but he couldn't dredge up anything but the mildest interest in his surroundings.

Still, he found himself perking up his ears slightly when the sound of footfalls came wafting the trees. Raising his head, he glanced down the path in the direction of the footsteps...then frowned slightly. Strange footsteps, at that; almost like the walker was dancing?

Talencia
Eloran was at that moment attempting to cross his hooves in a complicated diagonal step. He sidestepped around a bend in the path and continued concentrating on his steps. Mentally he kept time for his steps.... one - two - one - two. He had to pause between with a knee high in the air, his body moving diagonally still, and then bring it down to touch the earth at the mark of the beat.

But suddenly several things happened. Firstly, his flared nostrils, wide from the extra breath it took to exert himself, caught the strong scent of another soquili immediately in front of him, not far at all. Startled out of his concentration of the beat, he brought his hoof down on the half beat intsead of the whole. This resulted in his hoof coming down too close across his other hoof, making his legs tangle.

Losing his balance almost entirely, a wide-eyed Eloran plunged face-forward towards the dusty earth of the trail. He was too surprised to let go of the bucket as his forelegs buckled, despite his attempt to use them to catch himself. Well, the end result was a rather amusing picture of the red bay stallion on his foreknees, legs crossed at the fetlock, rump still high in the air, and his nose plunged directly into the bucket of water he'd been carrying.

For a moment all he could do was blink in total astonishment.

Cajmera
"...." Though Indawo wasn't really one to see humor in everything, or even in most things, he wasn't so dull that he couldn't tell that what was happening was wildly funny. Like a scene from a movie unfolding before his eyes, he watched as the walker/dancer moved into view, then proceded to trip in a manner that would make any klutz proud. For a moment, he just stared...then a slight chuckle emerged from his lips, a chuckle that grew into total laughter. Deep, hearty laughter that in a way was at odds with the small size of the flutter stallion, actually.

Tossing his head back, Indawo continued to laugh, his sides shaking with the effort; but at the same time, he managed to move himself down towards the other stallion. "Are you alright?" Was all that he was able to choke out between gasps of laughter, and even though he knew his behavior had to be very insulting, he just couldn't seem to stop!

It was early afternoon, and the sun was just starting its downward curve in the sky. A warm breeze danced along the Kawani lands, whispering through the grass and treetops and ruffling the flowers. Combined with the beautiful blue sky that arched over everything, the scene was that of a marvelously beautiful day.

Indawo wasn't really thinking about any of that, though. Head down slightly, the cheetah-patterned Soquili waded through the ocean of grass, an expression of thoughtful contemplation on his face. A slight flicker crossed his face as something came to his mind, but unless one had been observing him at the precise moment it occured, they would have only seen the previously noted expression. Though for those who knew Indawo...thoughtful contemplation was in and of itself something strange.

However, he didn't stay that way for too much longer. One ear twitched, then he raised his head, a look of what could only be described as being one of anticipation on his face. Off in the distance, the source of that anticiaption could be seen: a lone teepee sitting at the side of the lake.

~~~
Inside the teepee, Cajji hummed to herself as she sat on a skin on the floor, surrounded by bits and pieces of leather and wood and stone. She was crafting new dreamcatchers to decorate her teepee and gift to her Soquili friends. A soft smile played on her face as she contemplated the second possibility; Soquili friends, indeed!
Glancing out through the door of the teepee, she could see the graceful shape of Elizabeth Swann out in the grassy area before the teepee; the unicorn mare was busily hanging finished dreamcathers on a line Cajji had strung between two trees. After staring at Elizabeth for a moment, Cajji simply smiled and went back to her work. Things certainly had changed from when she was only able to dream of having a Soquili friend....
~~~

Sunlight glinted off of wings that glittered and shimmered like jewels as they cut through the air high above the lake. Brilliantly dark curls hung against a noble yet rougish face as Zaphiro, heart soaring, flew back towards the only place he knew of as home. Many moons had passed since he'd first met the strange two-legger, but he always went back to see her after reaching a stopping point in his travels. Perhaps it was just karma, but she always made him smile. Maybe it was because it seemed as though she needed him...he couldn't say.

At any rate, he'd be there soon, and that was all that mattered.

"Woot!" Smiling happily, Safi paddled his way through the water of the lake, his knees high and his wings spread as he cut through the waves. True, he was on his way back home for a visit, but that didn't mean that he wasn't going to enjoy the transit time. Particularly not when it meant that he got to swim in the gorgeously warm lake waters on a bright sunny afternoon like this one.

He was still grinning when he dragged himself out of the water onto the sandy shore of the lake, tossing his mane and tail and flipping his wings in an attempt to get all the water out of them. Nothing quite like a dripping wet Soquili coming home for a visit, complete with flowers!

...Ok, scratch the flowers. They'd gotten a bit wet and draggled, mostly because he'd totally forgotten them when he'd jumped into the lake. After staring at the sorry little lump of vegetation for a moment, Safi finally shrugged his shoulders and tossed them away. Who needed flowers when they were back home, after all?

Smilin broadly, he squared his shoulders and trotted up the bank, peering round the corner of the teepee...and then freezing. There was a strange Soquili in the clearing, and Cajji was nowhere to be seen!

Well, that was certainly unexpected. Normally he just walked right up and jumped into conversation with strangers, but then, usually strangers weren't in his homeplace.

~~~~
Folding back his wings, Zaphiro began his descent down towards the teepee. It had been a long flight, and all he really wanted was to greet Cajji, have an apple or a few carrots, and then maybe take a nap.
Of course, that was before he landed. As his hooves touched the ground, he finally registered the presence of the strange unicorn mare in the clearing before the teepee, and that brought him up short. For a moment he thought that he must have made some mistake, that he was in the wrong place, but no; this was the same weathered teepee by the same stand of trees on the lakeshore; it was the mare that was strange.
"...Hello there; who might you be, Miss?" Blinking in surprise, he nevertheless managed to hold onto his customary manners, and at the top of that list of manners was 'be polite to mares'.
~~~

Now it was Elizabeth's turn to be surprised. She had been staying with Cajji for a few weeks now, and in all that time she'd never seen another Soquili. Consequently, having a stallion appear out of nowhere was a bit of a shock to her system. "I think that I could be asking that question myself, Sir...but since you asked first, I suppose that it would be permissable for me to answer first." Smiling a bit timidly, she inclined her head at Zaphiro, her curly brown mane tumbling about her horn in a most becoming fashion. "I'm Elizabeth, Elizabeth Swann. I live her at this place, with Miss Cajji. Who might you be?"

~~~
Peering around the corner of the teepee, Safi watched as Zaphiro came down and struck up a conversation with the strange mare. Man, this was getting stranger and stranger, wasn't it? He hadn't seen Zaphy in ages, and it appeared that he'd decided to come back at the same time as he himself! Well, the least he could do is say hi!
"Well well, it looks like the whole family decided to come back at the same time! Or most of it, at least!" Grinning ear to ear, he strolled out from behind the teepee, looking remarkably nonchalant for one that was still dripping wet. "Long time no see, Zaphiro! And hi, nice to meet you." At that, he bowed slightly to Elizabeth, maintaining his wide grin. "Didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I guess I succeded. Nice to meet you, Elizabeth; I'm Safi, and you could say that I live here as well!"
~~~

Zaphiro stared at Safi for a moment, a bit surprised at the amazing timing of his friend. "Heya Safi; likewise. And it's indeed nice to meet you, Elizabeth; please forgive my earlier staring, I was just a bit confused." Smiling, he went on to clarify, as he suddenly realized how strange he sounded. "I had no idea that we had anymore Soquili dwelling here, so seeing you took me a bit by surprise. I'm Zaphiro, by the way."

~~~
"Zaphiro and Safi...well, I guess it's nice to meet the both of you as well! I think that that feeling of being overwhelmed is mutual, though; I had no idea that Cajji had any other Soquilis but myself. You both must be transient Soquilis, hrm?" Glancing from one stallion to another, Elizabeth arched her brow curiously; but at the same time, this certainly cleared things up; their smells lingered about the teepee area, and she'd never yet been able to figure out why they were so strong. Obviously if they were the type who kept coming and going, they'd leave their scent about. "Have you two been with Cajji long?"
~~~

At that, Zaphiro shook his head slightly. "A mere month or so for me. I haven't been with this group very long, but I think I predate you by at least a little while, as I've never been aware of your prescence before. Safi and Indawo have been around for quite a while though, at least to my knowledge."

~~~
Nodding his head, Safi agreed wholeheartedly with Zaphiro. "Yep, Indy and I have been with Caj for almost a year; ever since we were baskets and were given to her for safekeeping. Zaphy joined us not too long ago, and now, it appears that you're here as well!" At that, he whistled slightly; this herd was sure growing!
At the edge of the teepee clearing, Indawo stood silently with an incredulous expression on his face. Heleaves for a few weeks...ok, months, and comes back to find the place is party central!
Maybe he was overreacting a bit. Keeping hidden from sight amidst the stand of trees that bordered the teepee, the flutter stallion narrowed his eyes and sized up the three Soquili in the clearing. One, at least, he knew well; he and Safi had been raised by Cajji since they were both baskets at the exact same time. The other stallion, Zaphiro, he knew in passing...enough to greet him politely if they passed at the stream, but that was about it.
Who was the mare, though?
"So, do you always stake out teepees before going up to them, or is this something random you're trying out?"
Indawo had been so focused on the three in the clearing that he hadn't even realized he had company. As it was, he nearly jumped out of his skin, then whirled to face the speaker: a black and tan mare with neatly braided mane and tail that was looking at him rather quizzically. "Excuse me?"
Quirking a brow at the jittery stallion, Ladius sighed; perfect, she'd come across a crazy. But she could be patient. "I was simply asking why you were sizing up my teepee from these trees...it gives the impression that you're a stalker."
A stalker? "Why on earth would I stalk my own-wait a minute, your teepee? You live there as well?" Hell's bells, this was getting more convoluted by the moment.
Now they were getting somewhere! "I don't know what you mean by 'as well', but yes, this is my home now. I was recently befriended by the two-legger who lives here, and she has allowed me to come and live here. Though I only just made it here today, as a matter of fact...but who are you, anyway? To my knowledge, the only other Soquili that lives here is another mare."
"You were misinformed." Indawo's voice practically dripped with dryness; so much for a quiet home visit! "Those two stallions and myself also call this place home, if you must know. My name is Indawo, and I've been here for quite some time, as a matter of fact."
"Well Indawo, you guys aren't very good at staying around, are you?" It wasn't anything so much as a statement of fact, delivered in what could only be described as a matter-of-fact tone. Still, as Ladius saw it there wasn't anything terribly wrong with non-constant attendance, as Soquili were undeniably wanderers. "And I'm Ladius. And being on that we're doing introductions, I ought to go meet these others!" Flipping back her tail, teh mare shouldered her way through the trees and headed towards the others; after a moment, Indawo sighed, then followed. What a strange day...
