Ughhhhhhhhh big dumb deer kept talking. Stop talking dumb deer. :T "Less talking, more chopping!"
Once they were in the kitchen, Maddie looked around the biggest, sharpest knife, and once locating it, she grinned, running over to grab it. "Ok, now... put your arm on the counter."

One great big antlered head tilted to the side. Slowly, he reached out and put his hand (which was mostly claw) on the counter. But not his arm. That seemed silly and really the counter was too low for him to do that comfortably.
"You should not run with knives. It is a good way to damage them." And kitchen knives, good kitchen knives, were expensive.

"Oh, hush up and just stay still." Maddie walked over to where he was, raised the knife, and swung.

It took him a moment to realize just what her target was. There was nothing on that counter to cut besides him. And that was just rude.
And slow and calm as Chase usually was... he could be speedy when he needed to be. Wendigo were known for being quick. Just because they didn't choose to dash around all the time meant nothing.
He snatched his hand away, and tapped on the top of her head with a claw from his other hand. "Rude, Little Bear. Rude."
He tapped her head again, and then stepped past her. "And you want to kill things before hacking of limbs. Very messy otherwise." Even if Fear based creatures didn't bleed all over, they did tend to kick and scream.

Of course, she didn't really expect him to stay still as she attempted to lob a finger or two off, but still, she was disappointed. "Aww, you're no fun. It's no fun if it's not messy. And fresh is best." She huffed and stabbed the knife into the counter. "Still, I think we need to make something regardless to get out of here, though it'd be faster if you just volunteered."
Glancing around the counter, she noticed a package of chocolate and ripped it open. Hmm, chocolate...

Chase huffed and reached over the ghoul's head to pluck the knife out of the counter. "You have to be nice to your tools. They are delicate." He gently put the knife back in it's place, and then turned to look at bear. Honestly. So rude trying to butcher a friend. Though...not unheard of. No hard feelings, right?
A smile slowly grew on the wendigo's face. "We need to cook? Well, why didn't you say so?" He was more that happy to do THAT.
"And I doubt," he said turning to the fridge, "that they would want to eat me. This, however," he plucked a bit of meat from where it sat on a shelf, "might do perfectly."

Maddie would have objected. Deer tasted AMAZING. At least, she was pretty sure it did. She never had any. And mutant deer was SUPER special. Though... she guess she'd probably get in trouble if she dissipated a student for the sake of feeding some stuffed bears. That, and she heard too much FEAR tended to make one explode. That was a thing, right?
"Because I figured you had the brains to figure that out, dumb-dumb". She hated to admit that the piece of meat he took out did look pretty yummy. All this food was making her hungry.
"Whatever, let's just get this over with so we can get out."
It seemed there was more meat in the fridge, and Maddie assumed the thing she pulled out was some sort of bird. Hmm, bird, and chocolate... She knew chocolate was a common delicacy, so she did what she thought was best by breaking bits of the chocolate and putting it on the quail, and then proceeded to stick the whole thing in the oven.
Best idea ever.

Chase gave his friend a small glance, then turned back to the fridge. He needed something to go with this nice steak. But nothing in the fridge seemed right.
So he turned to the pantry. Where he found some nice, spicy redhots. Perfect. Just a little bit of kick, and little bit of sweet. Yes, yes.
"Watch close, Little Bear," he said while he chose his frying pan, "This is how you pan sear."

Maddie wasn't quite sure how effective pan-searing CANDY was, but she watched nonetheless. All it looked like he was making was molten candy, though she totally stole some of those red hots when he wasn't looking to munch on. Still, she supposed she might as well wrap this thing up. It was great and all, but this place was starting to weird her out.
It seemed her roasted chocolate quail was done, and since all the milk chocolate had melted and gotten absorbed into the bird, Maddie figured it needed MORE chocolate. Dark chocolate. Dark chocolate was the best chocolate.

While searing the steak reducing the candy to a nice glaze, Chase looked around for the something special this plate needed. Perfect. He grabbed the white wine.
Wine was added to the candy glaze, and while that cooked down Chase took the steak off the heat to rest.
"See, a nice sear, and a nice white wine spiced sauce to go with it," he said as he stirred the sauce. "And what have you cooked up?"

"CHOCOLATE BIRD." She nearly shoved the dish in his face with outright pride. It was roasted bird, with melted chocolate, and chocolate shavings. ALL THE CHOCOLATE. Of course, he always had to one-up her, and as much as she hated to admit it, his dish did look pretty fancy and stuff. And it smelled good. "Show-off."

"Chocolate bird?" Chase gave the Little Bear's dish a look and a sniff. "Not bad. Not too bad at all." He'd be willing to try it.
"It looks good. So," he held up his own dish, a nicely seared steak with a pink sauce, "shall we serve our hosts?" He could be very polite when it came to food.

He was so making fun of her. She knew it. "Yah, whatever, let's get this over with." she huffed.
The dish was practically dumped in front of one of the bears, and when she turned around, the portal was there. HOORAY TIME TO GET OUT OF THIS DUMB PLACE. Without another word, she dashed towards it, eager to leave Chase and the bears behind.GrnGriff You can wrap with your post idk

He was not. He was, rather, trying to foster a desire to continue in the culinary arts. Encouraging the Little Bear so that she might continue to grow as a chef. The world need more good chefs. Never enough people to cook food. Never.
He snorted in agreement. They should serve things now, before they got cold.
Chase did not quickly serve his dish. He strode to the table and gently placed the plate in front of the bear. "Pan seared steak with spiced candy-wine sauce. Please enjoy." A small smile appeared on his face.
And then he turned around to see the Little Bear running away. Oh. The portal had returned.
"I," he said, slowly, to the seated bears, "wish a pleasant and romantic meal." And then he turned to follow his Little Bear friend. Hopefully back to the forest.
