Pizza
He laid claim to several slices and slapped them on his paper plate, but he didn't touch either. Resting his elbows on the table, Jack slipped his glasses off and rubbed his face with a growled sigh.
"Any aspirin around here? Ibuprofen? Something?" he prompted. "This is so ******** stupid."

Chel took one more bite and then stood from her seat, putting a hand gently on Jack's shoulder before walking past him and up to the counter. She had a short conversation with one of the desk attendants, who then disappeared into the back. She emerged with a small bottle and another conversation ensued. A few smiles and well meaning comments and Chel returned to the table, nudging him to indicate he should hold out his hand to take the pills and water bottle she'd been given.
It wasn't fun if Jack wasn't having fun too.

Chel had disappeared and Dawson was probably still mad at him, so Chris had retreated to the one person who didn't give him sad anxious looks whenever she saw him. He had rolled into Abbi's room like he owned the place, starfished on her bed, and made increasingly pathetic noises until she was willing to pay full attention to him.
Entertainment was a riveting range of thumb wars, FMK, and gushing over video games.

Lacking any sense of restraint, he snatched the bottle up like it would get taken away if he wasn't fast enough, unscrewed the cap, and dumped more than a few into his palm. Owain could take care of the rest, he figured, as he downed them and the water like a shot. It wasn't just the pain that was bothering him, it was the fact that he couldn't even play a ******** game of laser tag without being reminded of that shortcoming, that she felt the need to pat his shoulder and patronize him (it's okay Jackles), that he wore glasses at all, that contacts wouldn't ******** help either because he was always going to be sensitive.
Simmering, he tore into his pizza with more force than necessary and was silent.

Incognito
Not unused to visitors, but a little caught off guard by how quickly Chris had swanned into her room, Abbi was not one to turn away a friend, or even think twice about entertaining them. With a happy noise she jumped onto the bed and squished her three foot tall stuffed bear between them and happily engaged in keeping him from making more pitiful noises.
In the middle of a particularly passionate rant about how the Princess Peach game needed a sequel, the musical tone of her phone interrupted her. So fully disjointed the girl read over the text and adopted a serious pout. "Chel is playing LAZER TAG WITHOUT US!" She nearly screeched, quick firing a text back in reply to the selfie Abbi had received demanding details of where exactly they were. "She was gone for Galetines Day and wouldn't hang out with me today and its because she's WITH JACK. THAT BUTT!"
For a long moment Abbi continued to pout, before she got an evil, awful, terrible idea. Actually, it wasn't evil or awful at all, just a little terrible. And so it was that Abbi turned her largest, most sparkly blue eyes at Chris and affected a cute pose that meant she was going to ask him something and he wasn't going to be able to say no.

So used to Chel, Chris didn't even flinch at the outburst. But his face did scrunch into something distinctly unhappy. "They're probably celebrating her birthday. Without us," he emphasized, again, in case you at home weren't aware that they'd left Chris and Abbi behind.
Chris narrowed his eyes at Abbi. Nothing that cute was ever good for his health. "What?"

Chel snorted at Jack's furious pizza eating and said, "Aw c'mon, it was only four points. Let me be the lazer tag champ just once."
She leaned over the table, pizza half devoured and pointed at him with the slice. "What d'you say we make a bet?"

He gnashed his teeth against the food and shot Chel a glare, and then reminded himself: birthday privileges. The glare lingered anyway, his way of prompting her to continue.

Chel took a long sip of her soda and said, "If I wiiiiin .... you let me do you up in some makeup and a dress and s**t." Her eyes were elsewhere, picturing it with satisfaction. "I won't make you go out in public or nothin' I know, I know."
She held up her hands and bit into her pizza, letting him consider it before saying. "And if youuu win?"

Chel had very unfortunate timing to bring up such a sensitive subject, in lieu of his ongoing headache and inner frustration as well as what he thought was a joking tone. Birthday privileges were forgotten for a second. His glare became more heated, and the corner of his mouth tugged into a sneer. Being aware that he used a light degree of makeup was one thing, but this was something entirely different to him: it was a toe in the pool versus being pushed in, all for her satisfaction judging by the look in her eyes. In one look he conveyed a great amount of anger so focused that he wished he could channel his headache along with it and make his own god damn lasers--but behind it all there was something equally as wounded in nature.
Jack didn't answer until he finished his pizza slice and picked up another, which he promptly dropped his gaze to instead. "Polish and clean my whole shoe collection," he said curtly. "Punishments for unsatisfactory work."

"Punishments?" She swallowed the rest of the bite she had going. "Kinky Jack, kinky~"

Jack didn't trust himself to open his mouth again except to finish eating his pizza, nor did he look at Chel again until they were both finished eaten; even that was a fleeting glance to make sure she was following once they tossed out their trash. He jammed his hands into his pockets and braced himself for the second game as they made their way back, jaw already tensing for the incoming barrage of sound and light.

game 2
The second game started off even worse than the first. Maybe it was his foul mood, maybe it was just bad luck, or maybe something was just conspiring to continue exacerbating his frustration. Jack chose to go off on his own because he wanted the space away from Chel, but that didn't help. The birthday party was still going strong. The children were making more noise than should have been allowed in a game that rewarded some tactical sense.
But worst of all, she-who-would-be-Leia was back, and with a vengeance. And she didn't just shoot at his face for fun, no, she managed to ping him as well.
Several children literally ran away when they saw the murderous look on the giant's face as he stalked onward.

Chel's mouth creased into a frown. Had she said something wrong? Should she have not made the bet? Why had she brought it up she was so stupid.
She felt her insides shrink and she followed behind him with a bent head, tail between her legs.

game 2
Chel hesitated near the beginning of the course. She didn't feel the same excitement because she was busy worrying whether or not she'd hurt Jack's feelings.
Two kids got her from the front right at the beginning and she stealthily decked one in the back with the butt of her gun as payback. Now she was alone, worried and upset, and stalking through the lazer tag game like it was a death march.
She vaguely debated throwing the game. Would he know? He would probably know. Of course Jack would know he was the smart one.
