{The Move} {Entry Format| Chronical [C]
{Overview| Raya gets a grand tour of her new living situation for her family! Fray seems awful comfy. :3
{Notes| It is stupid the only reason it took so long is because I had to draw Dale?
~*~
Raya’s eyes lit up as she saw the large house before her, with a blue thatched roof and a white picket fence guarding it’s domain. Large windows glinted in the sun and the pine and apple trees planted in the back yard rustled with the breeze. Fray, sitting wide-eyed in his stroller pushed his whistle deeper into his mouth.
“Whh~wheeeet,” he whistled in admiration, seeming to take in the environment as well. Lavender, rather uncomfortable with the large open space, couldn’t help but peek out from under Fray’s scarf to look at the edifice.
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it guys?” Raya said in awe, her grey eyes slowly going every inch as to not miss anything. Her bags were packed behind her as the taxi cab sped away, and all that was left was her, Fray and his stroller and a cat carriage at her feet.
“Mrrow!” Ravianna exclaimed unhappily as he pawed at her metal imprisonment. Raya glanced down at her cat and smiled warmly as she ruffled Fray’s hair gently.
“Welcome home, guys.”
~~
“Raya, what the hell!” Niobe, dressed in nothing but shorts and a large t-shirt with popcorn in her mouth, rose from watching the TV and crossed her arms. “You randomly come over on the weekend to move in without telling us? I mean, of course you can, but it’s unlike you to come over without telling us.”
“I called out this morning, Niobe” Raya said with a sigh as she lugged her suitcase from the doorstep into the house. She let out a happy sigh as she saw the warm living room. There was a small study and tea table to the left, a kitchen to the right and a small TV and entertainment center near the middle of the room. To the back there was a large staircase. The layout was sloppy and disorganized, but very much like Dale and Niobe.
“Oh, did you?” the redhead said absent-mindedly as she carried Ravianna into the house. “Hey, Ravi, go play with Loki. He’s outside.” She whispered, opening her cage and scratching the cat behind the ear. Ravianna nearly bolted out and exited the cat door into the back yard. “So!” Niobe stood up and looked at Raya with a smile. “Would you like a grand tour? We have your room set up.”
“I would love one,” Raya said, picking Fray up from his stroller. The boy was a little less than energetic due to the car ride, but he still seemed rather cheerful to be in a new place. His large lavender eyes drooped sleepily, observing the high-ceilinged house fondly. “Well, this is the living room, entertainment room and the kitchen. It’s not much, yet, but we still haven’t gotten everything in from our old apartment.” Niobe pointed out, gesturing here and there. “Leave your bags in the living room, Dale will get them later.” She insisted, leading up the stairs. Lavender scurried up Fray’s arm as he was taken into Raya’s arms. The rat’s ears were erect and her tail pointed high in the air, but her black beady eyes seemed to take in the house with interest.
The stairs led up into a long corridor with three doors. “Bathroom down the hallway, and there’s one downstairs.” The readhead explained shortly, opening the room closest to the left. “This is yours and Fray’s room. I know he’s just a baby but we inherited this old bed from Dale’s cousin and figured it wouldn’t hurt to have it installed. You know how kids are these days, growing up like dogs.” She said, meaning to allude to how swiftly they grow but obviously not getting the point across.
The room was full of cheerful, bright colors. Fray’s bed was green with pillows on it, his corner of the room filled with plastic and boyish toys pre-scattered on the ground. On the opposite side of the room was a pink bed with a very professional artist looking desk, reference books to the side and a drawing lamp on the other.
Raya leaned against the wall and put her hand on her forehead, overwhelmed. “Niobe, this is simply amazing,” she said, having a little trouble searching for the words. A warm smile spread across her face as she cheerfully directed Fray and Lavender to their side of the room. “Look, guys, that’s all yours!”
Fray chirped sleepily, although very curious as to what in the world anyone was talking about. Fray was having some trouble staying awake, and Lavender actually did want to feel what the floor felt like. Raya gently laid Fray on his new bed and brushed his brown hair behind his ear as the droopy purple eyes closed calmly. Lavender, appearing to show signs of fatigue herself, perched herself on the bed frame and folded her ears against her head.
“Lavender isn’t hissing,” Raya said with a dazed, almost blissful smile. “They must like it. Niobe, what in the world can I do to repay both of you?” She asked, taking her friends hands in hers with a gratified smile.
“You just pay your rent and pay us back for everything when you get the chance,” Niobe said simply with a shrug, nonchalantly. “C’mere, I want to show you my room.”
The last room of the house was Dale’s and Niobe’s bedroom, complete with a personal library and cushions to read on. Sitting at the desk was a man, no older than 27, hunched over a paper with a pencil scribbling furiously in his hand. At the noise of people entering the room, Dale looked up with very large, green eyes.
“Rayane! Yeh’ here!” Dale waved with a pencil in hand. He stood up quickly and extended his hand. He was, unfortunately, six feet back from Niobe or Raya. Still, he smiled blankly and curiously, expecting his hand to be taken.
“Dale, wear your glasses you idiot,” Niobe grumbled darkly as she tossed the man large spectacles from the desk. Dale wearily caught them and laughed to himself.
“Ahh, that’s were they were!” He chuckled with an easygoing smile. “Thank yah, sweets,” He kissed Niobe affectionately on the cheek and shook Raya’s hand warmly. “Welcome to tha family, Rayane. Your little one in ‘is room?” Raya shook her head and grabbed Dale into a warm embrace.
“Thank you so much,” Raya whispered. Dale shook his head and lifted Raya from his chest with a large smile persisting upon his features.
“Don’ be silly, Rayane,” Dale chuckled, patting her gently. “Always happy to ‘ave you ‘ere.”
~*~ In the room across the hallway, Fray curled up with Lavender next to his ear. The small boy exhaled a gentle chirp through his whistle, and a mystical swirl of violet energy lifted into the air. A faded, purple butterfly appeared and fluttered ever so slightly as it dissipated into the air.
