Kraven moved down the path towards Accumula Town, trying to not walk too far ahead of Phoenix. She kept around the same pace as the other girl, but slowed to match it when they were far enough away that she began explaining her 'ability'. The redhead's nervousness telegraphed itself once more, fiddling with her hair as she went into detail. Kraven didn't make any comments, simply listening intently. She could follow what she was saying for the most part, though she left out the part about how she actually knew how to understand them, but that was a separate issue, she guessed.
The girl's voice trailed off with a blush as she finished her explanation, Klaus quickly chiming in to give the short version. "...I see," Kraven finally replied, after a moment passed without any additions to their explanation. "Well, that's certainly a helpful ability to to have there. I can't imagine how much time it took for you to learn how to do that."
"H-H-Hm... W-W-W-We-We-We-e-e-ell-ll, th-th-th-theo-heo-heo-eor-or-or-oretic-tic-tic-tic-tical-ly-ly-ly, it cou-cou-cou-could be fi-fi-fixed-xed by ei-ei-eit-th-ther fin-in-indin-ing a wa-a-a-a-ay to re-re-rev-ver-ver-vert me-e-e ba-a-ack int-nt-nto a Por-Por-Por-Po-o-o-oryg-ryg-rygo-gon-gon-gon 2, or a-a-a sk-sk-ski-ski-ill-lled pr-pr-pro-ro-ro-ro-rogra-gra-gramm-mmer-mmer wi-i-i-it-ith th-th-the rig-gh-ght too-oo-oo-ools m-mi-mi-mi-migh-igh-ight be-be-be a-a-a-ab-ble to fi-fi-fix it." Of course, the Virtual pokemon could only speak in hypotheticals. He was unsure if there even was a way to backpedal in his evolutionary chain, or if there was a programmer who could do much. Even if they could, it was doubtful they'd do much anyway, since they wouldn't be able to tell just how bad his speech was. And as far as he knew, his body's erratic nature was just a common piece of his current form.
While the two conversations went on, Kraven's other pokemon followed close behind. Mothra and Torch kept more to the side, a low grumble erupting from the latter's stomach. "Ugh... You think we'll stop to eat when we get to the next town?" The little monkey asked the large moth he piggybacked on.
"I'm sure we'll be able to find you something, Torch." The Volcarona reassured him.
"Hrm..." The Chimchar groaned a bit. "I wonder if there's anything I could snack on around here..." The little fire monkey scanned the sides of the path for anything that he could much on, and soon found a big, orange mushroom that caught his eye. He immediately tapped on Mothra's head, pointing at the mushroom with his other hand. "Ooh, ooh, Mothra, right there!" He hopped off the moth pokemon, running over to the shroom and picking it off the tree stump it grew out of. The moment it was in his hands, the Chimchar scarfed it down, the Volcarona soon coming over to him.
"Happy now, Torch?"
"Mhm," He nodded.
"Then come on, let's get back to Kraven." Torch gave the fire-bug a nod, and hopped back onto her back. His eyes peaked out just above the Volcarona's horns, and watched the trainers still walking down the path as they rejoined the group.

☆ ☆【As Phoenix walked along the path to Accumula Town with her newly acquired travel companion, she moved at a fairly brisk pace to put as much distance between them and Nuvema as possible. She could see Kraven moving at fairly the same pace alongside her, and the two of them slowed down once they were well outside the town limits. Taking a breath, the redhead certainly felt quite a bit better now that she was certain they were the only ones present in the area for the time being. She didn’t exactly feel up to trying to socialize with more than one person at a time, and even then she was still trying to get used to having just Kraven’s company around alone. One crisis at a time, she would always tell herself, chanting it over and over again in her head like a mantra. If anything, at least Kraven was proving to be fairly excellent company so far in the short time she’d come to know her. The girl seemed to pay well enough attention when it came to conversations, and seemed to know when to not insist on a certain subject that might be too personal to discuss fully. Phoenix genuinely appreciated that, somewhat, even though it felt rather odd to be in the presence of another human being who wasn’t Clark or her adopted parents… Nonetheless, she felt it would only be fair to hold up her own proposal as she launched into an attempt to explain how her ‘ability’ worked to her companion. Of course, she was still being extremely awkward and nervous about it, and she felt even more anxious when Kraven made no comments during her explanation. She supposed it was a good thing… Kraven didn’t seem to look at all confused by her rather roundabout way of explaining something and making it sound more complex than it needed to be. Still, Phoenix found herself blushing as her voice trailed off towards the end of her little speech, averting her gaze towards the ground beneath them as they kept walking. Thankfully Klaus, being the ever helpful companion that he was, interjected and summed up her explanation in a way that made a lot more sense than how she’d put it. Phoenix gave a small smile at that, feeling glad that she always had the Zoroark to help back her up whenever she needed it. She only brought her gaze back towards Kraven when the other spoke up after a moment or so passed, saying that it was certainly a helpful ability to have and how she couldn’t imagine how long it had taken for her to learn how to understand Pokespeak. ” Well… it did take me quite some time to learn it, and it took even longer for me to get used to it… I’ve had this ability ever since I was… about six years old, maybe,” Phoenix responded quietly with a nod, uncertainty flashing across her sea blue eyes for a fraction of a second, ” As you could probably guess… I wasn’t exactly the sort of person that other people wanted to be friends with, even when I was younger…” Fourteen years she had spent at that orphanage… fourteen years of torment and never-ending troubles… fourteen years of Hell that she would never want to relive ever again… She was glad that she had left that wretched place when she had, and she wasn’t going to go back no matter what, even if they had to drag her kicking and screaming the whole way. ” I guess… you could say that Pokemon were a bit like… imaginary friends, in a sense,” she added, putting a bit more emphasis on the ‘imaginary friends’ part. Even if it sounded childish, it was what had helped her out through many a hard time back when she was still learning the ropes of how the world worked, when she had been the vulnerable, fragile little girl known only as ‘Blue’. No matter how much it hurt, even after being knocked around and pelted with stones and whatever other objects the other children threw at her, just being able to listen to the voices of the Pokemon that dwelled in the outside realm was enough to comfort her, to help ease her troubles away and make it seem like the day wasn’t all that bad… Walking alongside Klaus as she held his hand, or claw for that matter, Hana listened intently to Glitch as he responded to her question about if there was hypothetically any way he could be fixed if the data stored on the Dubious Disc used to evolve him was the cause for his rather unstable movement and speech patterns. According to his theories, perhaps it could be fixed if there was some way for the disc to be removed, which would cause him to revert back to his previous, more stable Porygon 2 evolution. That, or a skilled programmer with the proper tools would be able to sort out the data and perhaps arrange it in a way that would likely fix it. Of course, these were only hypotheses, which meant that there wouldn’t be any real way of knowing whether or not either of the proposed methods were possible until they were tested.” W-Well…”the Oshawott started, shuffling her feet a bit nervously,” I-I m-mean… e-even if th-there i-isn’t a p-possible w-way for you t-to be f-fixed… I-I th-think you’re f-fine just the w-way you a-are…”She fiddled around with her scalchop a bit, giving the Porygon Z a small, sweet smile.” I-I m-mean… e-even th-though your b-body sp-spasms and t-twitches r-randomly and y-your s-speech can b-be a bit h-hard to u-understand and f-follow at f-first, i-it’s what m-makes y-you s-stand out a-among the r-rest… S-So, it w-wouldn’t n-necessarily be a b-bad th-thing, w-would it…?”she asked curiously, turning her shy gaze down towards the ground momentarily. It wasn’t a bad thing to be different, right? The Oshawott herself had had her stuttering pattern of speech for as long as she could remember, and even if it was possible to fix that, she had come to accept that perhaps it wasn’t as bad as she had initially thought. Others may make fun of her, pointing out how she ‘talked funny’ and whatnot, but it was part of what made her unique and different from virtually every other Oshawott in existence, right?】☆ ☆

Kraven rubbed the back of her neck, listening to the redhead as she elaborated a little further. "Since you were six? Damn, that's pretty early. Why didn't people like you anyway? You seem friendly enough to me." The ebon-haired girl looked her companion over. Phoenix's personality may have been kinda steely, but that was something that someone developed over the years. She doubted the girl started out that way. The redhead's hair was certainly a rather bright shade of red, but it wasn't the weirdest thing in the world. Kraven had seen people with all kinds of dyed and natural hair colors come and go in Lumiose. The only real strange bit she could tell was her companion's ears, which were pointed like an elf's.
"T-T-T-Th-Th-Th-Than-han-han-an-an-ank-ank y-y-y-y-yo-ou-ou-ou, H-H-Ha-a-ana. The Porygon Z tried to reassure the little Oshawott. "B-B-B-B-Bu-u-ut-ut, I-I-I-I'v-I'v-I'v-ve-ve-ve be-be-ee-ee-een-en a-a P-P-Por-or-or-oryg-orygo-ygon-gon Z fo-or a so-om-om-met-meti-meti-meti-meti-etim-etim-time n-n-now-ow. I-I g-go-go-got u-u-us-used-sed-sed t-t-t-to it-t-t l-l-lo-lon-on-n-n-n-ng a-a-ag-ago." He appreciated the little one trying to make him feel better, but Glitch wasn't that bothered by his own behavior. This was how he was, and that's all there was to it to him. If there was any issue with someone, that's their problem... and a Zap Cannon with their name on it.

☆ ☆【Phoenix watched Kraven with a cautious eye, noting the other girl as she rubbed the back of her neck as the redhead explained a bit more into her ability. It could be considered a blessing and a curse at times, though she believed it to be more a blessing since it allowed her to share conversations with the beings she had come to cherish most over her lifetime thus far. On the other hand, there were Pokemon who didn’t necessarily have anything nice to say, but Phoenix tried to not dwell too much on things like that. She had come to accept that the personalities of Pokemon could be just as unique and varied as those of people, and that not all Pokemon shared the same personality traits as one another. Phoenix nodded at Kraven’s comments, saying that six was pretty early for her to have developed her ability. ” I suppose so, if you put it that way,” she offered with a small smile, shrugging slightly, ” It wasn’t necessarily something I was born with… Just something I picked up on as I grew older, maybe…” The smile soon faded when Kraven asked why people hadn’t liked her much anyways, since she seemed friendly enough as it were. ” You probably wouldn’t think that if you’d seen me in my later teen years,” Phoenix said with a slow nod, ” I’ll admit I was a bit of a spitfire and a hardcore cynic in those times… I still am, to a small degree, but… only in certain situations, perhaps...” At the question of why people hadn’t liked her, Phoenix frowned slightly as she folded her hands together. ” There are many different reasons to why people would look down on others… For me, it was because I was… different, in a sense…” she responded with a soft sigh as her eyes trailed towards the ground, ” I’ve long since come to accept the fact that others generally see me as an outcast… an alien, someone who doesn’t belong… It’s been my way of life for as long as I can remember…” Still, if Kraven really did think that she seemed friendly enough as it were… Maybe she was starting to improve quite a bit already. ” You know… perhaps in another time, we could have been good friends way back in those days, Kraven,” Phoenix suggested with a light smile as she brought her gaze back to her travel companion, ” You seem like the kind of person that I feel my childhood self could have gotten on well with… It certainly would have made enduring those years much less painful…” However, she noticed the other girl looking her over, and suddenly felt a bit tense. She couldn’t help it, she just didn’t exactly feel comfortable with it, as if she could practically feel Kraven judging her just with her eyes. Sure, she figured that the ebon-haired girl would be accepting of her no matter what, but still… Reaching a hand up, Phoenix gently combed a few loose strands of hair back, a grimace crossing her face as her fingers brushed against her elf-like ears, which she now realized were exposed. Eyes wide, she immediately began messing around with her fiery-colored locks, making sure that her ears were well covered up. With her ears being the most defining feature, Phoenix always made sure to keep them hidden to prevent from attracting unwanted attention, and she immediately felt very self-conscious as she looked away from Kraven with a flustered expression on her face. Hanaka smiled a bit wider as Glitch thanked her for the kind words, listening as he went on. He had long since come to accept that his erratic speech and movements was how he was, especially since he had been a Porygon Z for quite some time already. "Hmm... Different, huh?" Kraven looked thoughtful for a moment. "Well, if it's any consolation, you don't seem like an outcast to me. And you've got a few friends to help you out now." She glanced back to the redhead's Pokemon. She resting smile that she'd had a moment ago returned, a little wider to try and reassure her. Er, well, she tried to at least.
Listening as her companion continued, the ebon-haired girl looked thoughtful for a moment at the last part. "...Well, I'm glad to hear that. But, we're here now, and what happened in the past is behind you. Better to not let what happened keep you down and just use it to walk a better path." Kraven had already finished examining Phoenix by the time she'd finished talking, but her eyes were drawn back as she rushed to cover her pointed ears. She couldn't help but suppress a little bit of a chuckle at how flustered she got. "Something wrong with your ears?"
"M-M-Mh-hm," Glitch stuttered out, "closing" his eyes so they appeared as half circles. He couldn't smile, normally, but this was one of the ways he could show if he was in a good or bad move, this being the former. What he lacked in expressive options he certainly made up for in attitude, at least.

☆ ☆【Phoenix watched Kraven carefully, noting the thoughtful look on the ebon-haired girl’s face at her explanation of why people didn’t like her all that much. The redhead blinked slightly at Kraven’s suggestion that she didn’t seem like an outcast to her, and that she had a few friends to help her out now. ” Maybe not to you, but most other people would be more than happy to disagree with you on that notion,” she responded, being a bit of a pessimist since she had always dealt with being viewed by others as someone who didn’t quite fit in. However, she did manage a small smile as Kraven looked towards her Pokemon companions, nodding in agreement. ” You’re not wrong there… Pokemon have always been a source of comfort for me, they’ve been my best friends and allies for as long as I can remember,” she said with a soft laugh. She did appreciate Kraven trying to reassure her with her words and her smile, and it felt much more welcoming for Phoenix to be a bit more comfortable and open with her newfound travel companion and possible friend. Of course, under any other circumstances she would’ve been perfectly fine with avoiding the girl altogether and moving on this journey alone with only her Pokemon for company. Even still, she was starting to get the sense that traveling with Kraven wouldn’t be as bad an idea as she had initially thought. Things can always get better, and pray to Arceus that they don’t get worse, that’s what Mr. Chu often taught her. As she continued on, she kept a watchful eye on Kraven for any adverse reactions or anything. So far, though, the girl didn’t seem to have any qualms or complaints about anything. Phoenix supposed that it was a good thing, that it meant that Kraven was quite accepting of her despite her reclusive character and anything else that might be considered off-putting to the average person. As she mentioned that she and Kraven could have been good childhood friends in a different time, she listened as the other said that while she was glad to hear it, it was best to focus on the here and now instead of what happened so long ago. Phoenix nodded in response at the girl’s comment that it was better to not let what had happened in the past get her down, and to use her experiences learned from it to walk a better path. ” That’s what I’m hoping for…” she said quietly, knowing that Kraven certainly made a good point. Phoenix knew that there were many things in the past that she wanted to forget, and that she had done things that she wasn’t very proud of, like the many times she’d had to steal from others just to sustain herself and her companions even if it had just been for survival. She tried to tell herself many times that there was no sense in dwelling on the past when the future could be so much brighter, but sometimes the past wasn’t that easy to let go of… However, as Kraven began examining her physical person over, Phoenix couldn’t help but feel rather self-conscious. Upon realizing that her ears were exposed, the redhead made a bit of a spectacle as she rushed to cover them with her hair, feeling quite flustered as she looked away from the ebon-haired girl. At Kraven’s question of if something was wrong with her ears, Phoenix could practically feel the amusement in the other’s voice. ” N-Nothing, it’s nothing!” she exclaimed hastily, turning her head back towards Kraven as she gave a bit of a lop-sided, nervous smile and a light chuckle, ” J-Just didn’t want them to get cold is all, hehehe…” That was a bold-faced lie, of course, it was actually quite warm outside, and she had covered them up more out of necessity to not draw unwanted attention. Phoenix felt Klaus’s hand on her shoulder, and she eased up a little, feeling glad that he was there to help her out when she needed it most.” Phee can be rather self-conscious at times, I hope it won't be of much trouble… I’m sure that she just doesn’t want you to think any less of her just because of her… abnormalities,”Klaus explained with a small smile. Phoenix grimaced slightly at the Zoroark’s explanation, but he was right, in a sense. Of course, she had since come to terms with the thought that Kraven wouldn’t turn her away no matter what, but still… ” A-Anyways… enough about me, what about you, Kraven?” Phoenix inquired with genuine curiosity as she looked towards her ebon-haired companion. They had been spending so much time talking about her, she felt that it was only fair and polite that she get to know more about her traveling companion and possible friend in return. ” You don’t look like you’re from around here… Did you come from some distant region?” she asked, though she grimaced inwardly at the feeling that she could have worded that question a bit better. Kraven quirked a brow at her companion's answer, which easy to spot as a lie. Though, Klaus was quick to clarify, which helped. "Ah. Well, it doesn't really matter to me." She tried reassuring her. But, when the conversation turned to her history, the ebon-haired girl grinned. "Yup! I'm actually from Kalos, born and raised in Lumiose." As the girls conversed, they finally reached Accumula Town itself. "It's a really nice city; lots of people, plenty of food and drink, and a lot of other cool shops I don't think are too common in the other regions yet."
Kraven stopped for a moment to look around. She'd had a map for every region, but no town maps to show her where everything was at. So, she'd just have to guess where everything is, save for when it's an area Phoenix is familiar with. "Alright, before we start training, we should probably stop by the pokemon center first. Make sure everyone's a-okay and grab some supplies from the store." She suggested.

It was to be expected, Phoenix had never really had much of a reputation for being the world’s greatest liar… She couldn’t help but feel a bit bad for lying, but it was just her natural reaction towards certain questions that regarded her appearance in general. Klaus cut in, dismissing Phoenix’s clearly faulty claims and saying that she was only trying to draw attention away from her abnormalities in hopes that her companion wouldn’t think any less of her. The Zoroark clearly knew her inside and out, and he had hit the nail right on the head with that statement. Kraven didn’t seem to take any offense to Phoenix’s obvious lie, thankfully, and said that her appearance didn’t matter that much to her. The redhead felt fairly relieved upon hearing that, flashing Kraven another lop-sided smile as a way of gratitude. At least she could start feeling much more comfortable, knowing for certain that the ebon-haired girl wouldn’t judge her just because of her social grace, or lack thereof, or how she looked. Nevertheless, she was more than willing to offer a segway into a different topic as she shifted the topic of conversation from herself to Kraven. Phoenix figured that after spending so much time talking about her own experiences, it would only be polite to get to know a bit more about her traveling companion in return. Kraven was more than happy to talk, answering Phoenix’s question about her region of origin as she said that she’d come here all the way from Kalos and that she was born and raised in Lumiose. ” Kalos, hm?” she said with a small smile and a look of interest, ” Sounds like you’ve come quite a ways to be here.” She had heard quite a bit about Kalos from word on the street, as well as from Mrs. Chu who had actually been a native of Kalos before she had moved here to Unova to live with her husband. Needless to say, Phoenix didn’t exactly have much of a grasp on much of anything else about the region apart from what she’d learned, but she did remember that the natives there often spoke in a dialect that was far different from theirs. Maybe Kraven would know, considering that she was essentially a native of Kalos… Either way, it was certainly on Phoenix’s bucket list of regions she would love to visit before she died. She listened with quiet and interested intent as Kraven went on to describe Lumiose, how it was a nice city and how it had lots of people, good food, and plenty of shops that weren’t too common in other regions. ” It certainly sounds lovely,” Phoenix offered with a small smile, ” I’d actually like to go visit Kalos someday, maybe you could show me around Lumiose sometime and we could have, maybe… a girl’s day out? Or something to that effect…” She had heard quite a bit about Lumiose, how it was the biggest city in Kalos and possibly the world, and that it was a pretty popular place for tourists to visit at least once or twice. Of course, growing up in a small, quiet rural town like Flocessy, Phoenix didn’t exactly care that much for large, extremely populated cities. She would gladly go to Lumiose City someday, if only for a day trip or to poke around the city, but she certainly wouldn’t think of living there. Looking back to the path ahead, Phoenix saw that while they had been conversing amongst each other they had finally reached Accumula Town. As a born and raised native of Unova, she knew the ins and outs of just about every town and city in the region, though she preferred to not linger around too long in exceptionally large populated places like Castelia. She paused as she noticed Kraven looking around the area, feeling that perhaps the girl could use some assistance in navigating around since she was a foreigner around these parts. At the suggestion of finding a Pokemon Center first to make sure everyone was in working order and getting some supplies, Phoenix nodded in agreement. ” Sounds reasonable…” she commented, adjusting the sleeves of her coat, ” I’m not sure if you have any maps detailing the general layout of the towns and cities here… But if you ever need any help with finding your way around, I’d be glad to lend some assistance.” She held a hand out to point towards the Pokemon Center situated just a few yards away from where they stood. ” Center’s right over there, let’s head in, shall we?” she suggested, making her way over towards the building with the familiar red roof that certainly could never be missed no matter what with her Pokemon following close by.】☆ ☆

"Yup," Kraven replied, putting her hands behind her head. "It's not that bad a trip by train though. Still a couple hours ride though." The ebon-haired girl sighed a bit, remembering the rather uneventful trip over to Unova. It was a little exciting at first, since she was on her way to get her starter. But, within the first thirty minutes the rattling of the wheels on the tracks wore on her quickly. But, she was here now, and she was itching to move forward. "Sounds like a plan. I'll be sure to show you around sometime."
Once they were in town, Kraven immediately looked for the Pokemon Center. Fortunately, Phoenix knew the area well enough to direct her towards it. "Ah, thanks. I've got maps for the regions themselves but I don't have any town maps, so thanks. I'll be sure to take you up on that offer." The two made their way to the Pokemon Center, the twin azure doors sliding open as soon as they approached. The cool air inside blasted past them, and Kraven lead the way inside. "Excuse me," she started, talking to the nurse behind the desk. "Can you take a look at my pokemon?"
The nurse smiled at the trainer. "Sure, it should only take a moment." She responded.
Kraven returned each of her pokemon, and put them each in a small tray the nurse gave her. Once all of their pokeballs were lying inside, she handed it back to the nurse, who turned away to put them through the machine behind her. Leaning on the counter, her eyes trailed off around the center, before locking on a large egg placed at the edge of the counter. The egg was a mixture of orange and silver, and sat on a small white cloth. "...So what's with the egg?" She asked as the nurse handed her back her pokemon.
"Oh, that? A trainer left it a while ago. He just sort of dropped it off without a word, so I don't think he's coming back for it. If you want, you can take it with you."
"Really?"
"Yes. We'd need to either release it when it hatches or give it to a new trainer anyway. It's all your's."
"Oh, well, thanks then." Kraven moved away from the nurse, and examined the egg closer. Picking it up, she held it carefully, making sure to keep a good hold on it without bear hugging it. "I wonder what kinda trainer just leaves an unhatched pokemon egg..." She mumbled to herself, thinking aloud. Still, she wasn't complaining. This meant she'd have a new teammate.

☆ ☆【Phoenix listened as Kraven went on, saying that the trip from Kalos to Unova hadn’t been that bad by train. However, it had still been a couple hours’ ride to get here, and clearly not a very eventful one if the look on the girl’s face had anything to say about it. ” Sounds quite exciting if your story is anything to go by,” she remarked with a hint of sarcasm, giving a small, light smile. Of course, she wouldn’t know that much herself since she had never once stepped on a train in her life. Still, if she wanted to get around from place to place, she would have preferred flying on the back of a winged Pokemon over anything else. There was just a certain sense of freedom that one could get from flying, being able to touch the heavens and see the world for miles around from high in the skies… Phoenix had longed for something like that for all her life, just having that ecstatic feeling of being free and unburdened, like the wind itself, able to go wherever she pleased with ease… Sighing softly to herself, the redhead brought herself out of her momentary dip into the fantasy harbored in her thoughts to focus on the conversation with Kraven. She gave a small, bright smile as the ebon-haired girl said that she would show her around Lumiose sometime. Of course, she wasn’t exactly counting on her and Kraven traveling together for that long to be able to achieve such a thing… But she supposed that for now, she would simply play it by ear and see where things went from here on out. Sure enough, it wasn’t long before their traveling entourage reached Accumula Town, and Kraven immediately looked for the Pokemon Center. Being a native Unovian, of course, Phoenix gladly directed her towards the red-roofed building that was never hard to miss. Kraven seemed grateful when she offered to help her foreign companion navigate around the towns and cities, the redhead listening as she said that she had maps for all of the regions but not any town maps. Phoenix gave a small smile and a nod at Kraven’s comment of taking her up on the offer, the two of them entering in through the twin sliding doors of the Pokemon Center. Phoenix smoothed down her hair a little to make sure her ears were still well-concealed, gazing warily around the interior of the building as they stepped inside. It didn’t seem too crowded for the most part, and Phoenix was quite relieved for that. While Kraven addressed the nurse at the counter and had her Pokemon looked at, Phoenix stepped a bit off to the side as she pulled out a couple more Pokeballs. Tapping them, she released her two other Pokemon that she had on her, her Houndoom, Victoria, and her Braixen, Fianna.” Hmph, ‘bout damn time ya let me outta that thing,”huffed Victoria as she shook herself off, as if she had awoken from a day-long nap,” When’re we gonna get ‘round to some trainin’, eh? I’ve gotten more than enough rest and I’m ready to get right into the action!”Phoenix rolled her eyes slightly, giving a chuckle and a smile as she nodded to the Houndoom. ” We’ll get into it soon enough, Tori, if you can contain your excitement until then,” she said, glancing over towards Kraven momentarily, ” We’re just doing some preemptive preparations for now.” Victoria huffed in response and flicked her tail lazily, her gaze roaming over their surroundings until they fixated on the Oshawott standing by Klaus’s side. Hanaka flinched when she noticed the Houndoom looking right at her, and immediately scuttled to hide behind the Zoroark.” Who’s the squirt, eh?”Victoria asked, narrowing her eyes as she slunk over towards the pair, intent on getting a better look at her new supposed ‘teammate’,” She supposed to be the fancy new starter ya picked up? Don’t look like much to me, I think there were better options available.” Klaus narrowed his eyes, moving to keep Hanaka and Victoria apart from each other.” Hana is the newest member of our family, Victoria, and I want her to feel as comfortable and welcome as possible around here,”he growled lowly, glaring at the Houndoom fiercely,” Therefore I will not have you terrorizing her and putting her through your bullying spiel like you always do. She will be under my supervision from now on, so if you even try to lay a claw on her you’ll have to go through me first!”Victoria snorted at Klaus’s vindictive disposition towards her, puffing a bit of smoke as she waved away his comments.” Fah, who d’ya think yous is, her pa? B’sides, a lil’ hazin’ never hurt anyone, an’ better she learns to toughen up here than on the streets!”she retorted, dismissing Klaus as she looked at the Oshawott hiding behind him and flashed her a wicked grin,” We’ll see just how long yous’ll last, pipsqueak. I’d say I’ll break ya in two days, tops!”Having heard enough, Fianna stepped in as she pulled her flaming stick out from her tail, whacking the Houndoom hard across the muzzle and forcing her to stagger a foot or two away.” Back off, mutt,”she growled, striking a defensive pose as she glowered balefully at the demonic dog Pokemon. ” Why you little…”Victoria snarled, shaking the blow off as she bared her teeth at the Braixen, bits of flame spewing from her mouth. ” Knock it off, both of you,” Phoenix interjected, fixating her gaze primarily on the Houndoom, ” If you’re going to just cause trouble, Tori, then maybe you won’t mind sitting out on training today. Fianna and Hana can have it all to themselves if you insist on acting like this the entire time.” Victoria paused for a moment, the snarl on her face fading into an aggravated frown as she looked between Fianna and Phoenix. Knowing that it wasn’t worth the trouble, the Houndoom sighed in defeat and nodded reluctantly.” Aight, fine, I’ll be a ‘good girl’ if it means I can get in on the action,”she responded, putting emphasis on ‘good girl’ as a means of saying that she’d try but there were no guarantees as she shot a glare at the Braixen,” Don’t yous even think for a second that yer gettin’ off scot free…”Fianna was more or less content to ignore the Houndoom’s threats, knowing well enough that Victoria wouldn’t try anything unless she wanted to test Phoenix’s patience more than she already had. For now, she turned her attention towards Hanaka, smiling as she wagged her tail in a friendly manner to let the Oshawott know that she wasn’t a threat.” Don’t let Victoria scare you too much, sweetheart, you won’t have anything to fear from her while Klaus and I are around. And you can always count on Phoenix if you ever need help,”she assured with a gentle smile as she replaced her stick back into her bushy tail,” Regardless, I’m glad to finally meet you face-to-face, Hana. I’m Fianna, but you may call me Fia for short if you’d like.”Hanaka stayed where she was behind Klaus, not wanting to move out of fear that the Houndoom would try to pounce on her, but she gave a small, shy smile to the Braixen as she fiddled with her scalchop.” Th-Thanks, Fia… I-It’s n-nice to m-meet you t-too,”she greeted back politely. Phoenix smiled as she watched the interactions between her Pokemon, though she felt that perhaps she should be more careful about when to let out Victoria from now on. The Houndoom had always been rather problematic to deal with ever since the day she had gotten her, even though Klaus and Fianna helped somewhat to help keep her unruly behavior in check.” Pardon me, miss,”came a masculine voice from behind her suddenly, causing Phoenix to flinch a bit. Her paranoia of other people had made her more or less wary of their actions, and she certainly didn’t appreciate strangers sneaking up behind her out of nowhere without warning. Taking a deep breath, Phoenix put on her best formal face as she turned around to face the gentleman who had addressed her. He was dressed up in what looked to be clothes fit for a concierge, or perhaps a courier… ” Ah… y-yes sir? How can I help you?” she asked, wondering who this man was and why he had approached her all of the sudden. The man held in his arms a number of items, a couple of small, light blue eggs, two heart-shaped scales that seemed to glimmer in colors of the rainbow, and a larger, differently colored egg with a white shell and green speckles all over it.” I was instructed by the illustrious woman known as Lydia Chu to give these items to a young lady named Phoenix when she visited the nearest Pokemon Center,”he explained in a very formal tone of voice, gazing curiously at her,” You are Phoenix Chu, are you not?” A gleam of recognition sparked in Phoenix’s eyes upon hearing that her adoptive mother had sent these things to her. ” A-Ah, yes, I am!” she answered quickly with a nod, accepting the items from the man and handing him ten dollars as a tip, ” Thank you, sir… Give Mrs. Chu my regards if you see her again, if you’d please.” The courier smiled, putting a hand over his heart and bowing to her.” I certainly will, Miss Phoenix, I’m sure we will be seeing each other quite a bit as long as your mother has plenty of gifts to send you,”he responded in kind, holding his hand up in a farewell gesture as he made his way to the exit,” I bid you adieu and a safe journey.”Phoenix smiled as she gave a small wave in return, before examining over the items that the courier had given her. ” Nice to know that you’re still looking out for me, mom,” she mused to herself with a chuckle, stowing the two Lucky Eggs away in her bag for later. The Heart Scales she gave to Fianna and Hanaka, figuring that they could use some more powerful moves in their repertoire since Klaus and Victoria already had quite the arsenal on them. As for the Pokemon Egg… Phoenix held it close in her arms, being careful to not hold it too tight or else she might crush it, and not too loosely or else she could drop it on accident. She blinked when she noticed a sticky note attached to it, and peeled it off so she could read it.

I hope your journey’s started off well and without a hitch, and that you’re starting to make some new friends on the way. You know you’ll need it, after all! Anyways, I’ve been breeding some of the Pokemon back at our Daycare while your father’s resting up from that illness he had a few days ago, and I could feel that there was something special about this egg the moment I laid eyes on it. I’m entrusting it in your care, and I know you’ll take care of the baby Pokemon inside when it hatches. Give us a call whenever you can, I’d like to hear more about your adventures sometime, and I’m sure Clark misses you greatly as well. He’s been of great help with taking care of your father and the Pokemon in our care, but he’s told me several times he’d like to see you again as soon as possible. Phoenix couldn’t help but chuckle a bit at that, she hadn’t been gone for even a week and already Clark was wondering when he would see her again. Not that she could really blame him… the two of them had always been close since their initial meeting back at the orphanage, and ever since their daring escape they were hardly seen without each other. Clark was like the older brother she never had, she didn’t think she would know what to do if she ever lost him… Shaking herself out of her mire of thoughts, Phoenix decided she would check up on her companion and see if she was good and ready. Signaling her Pokemon to come along, Phoenix made her way over to Kraven and gave her a small smile. ” Everything good on your end?” she asked, curiously eyeing the oddly colored egg that her ebon-haired compatriot had acquired recently for a moment before looking back towards Kraven.】☆ ☆

While waiting on the nurse to return with her pokemon, Kraven examined her new egg. She was far from an expert on such things, so there wasn't exactly any way for her to guess what was inside. Not to mention, it's coloration seemed kinda...odd, somehow. Guess she'll just have to wait till it hatches to see what it is. Adjusting her grip on it so she could hold it with one hand, the nurse returned with her pokemon around the same time Phoenix rejoined her.
"Mhm," She replied, slowly putting her pokemon back onto her belt. Once they were all on, Kraven put both her arms around the egg again, lifting it up carefully for Phoenix to see. "I got this egg though. Apparently someone left it and never came back." She pondered once more what was inside, but the egg was still, so it was doubtful she'd know soon. "His loss I guess, I'll just have to take better care of it. Let's head upstairs and grab some items before we head off." She motioned for her companion to follow, making her way up the stairs next to them. "So who was Mr. Fancy Pants?"
Once up on the second floor, Kraven approached the glass counter to see what was inside. Fortunately, there were a few good items available, and freeing one hand to pay for each of them. Once she'd gotten them, the ebon-haired girl moved away from the counter, deciding what to do with her new items. She'll save the Rare Candy for a later date, same with the two TMs. The Lucky Eggs should probably be saved for a bit too, however, the two Heart Scales were gonna get some use immediately. Releasing Gungnir and Torch from their pokeballs, she handed both of them one of the scales. Almost immediately the scales glowed and dissolved, followed by the buzz of Kraven's pokedex. It was a notification of their new moves, and Kraven was pleased with the results. "Alright," She said, turning back to Phoenix one last time. "I'm ready when you are. Time to train!"

☆ ☆【Phoenix didn’t see any real need to have the nurse look at her Pokemon, the journey to here from Nuvema had been fairly easy and tame. They hadn’t gotten into any battles or anything of the sort, so she was fine with opting out of having her Pokemon looked at before they started training. After getting Victoria to ease up on her attitude a little by threatening to not have her participate in training and accepting the items her mother had sent to her through the courier she briefly met, she decided it was about time that they reconvene with their ebon-haired compatriot. Sure enough, Phoenix and her company rejoined Kraven just as the nurse was returning the other’s Pokemon, the redhead asking if everything was good on her end. She nodded as the other hummed in agreement while she affixed her Pokeballs back on her belt, and Phoenix let her gaze wander over towards the strangely colored egg that her companion had acquired. She blinked in curiosity, wondering why the egg had such an odd coloring to it that made it different from what most other Pokemon eggs looked like… When Kraven was finished with her Pokeballs, she held up the egg for Phoenix to get a better look at, the redhead listening quietly as the ebon-haired girl explained that someone had left it and had never come back for it, so the egg was now in her care. ” I see…” she responded softly, reaching a hand out and lightly running her fingers along the smooth shell as a frown crossed her face. Who would just leave a Pokemon egg like that? Surely it was something special if it was so different… The idea of it just sickened her, and she instinctively held the egg she had been given by her adopted mother closer to her. Her scowl eased up slightly as Kraven went on to say that it was the guy’s loss and that she’d take better care of it. ” I’m sure you will,” she said with a nod of agreement, giving a small smile at the suggestion of heading upstairs to grab some items, ” Yeah, sounds good.” Phoenix and her Pokemon followed after Kraven up the stairs, the redhead wondering what sort of items they would have for sale up here. Of course, she was pretty much set at the moment with what her mother had sent her, but she supposed it wouldn’t hurt to do a bit of browsing. Her sea blue gaze slid over towards Kraven as she asked who ‘Mr. Fancy Pants’ was. ” A courier that my mother sent… I didn’t really get his name before he went off, but he did have quite a bit to give me,” she answered as she nodded slowly, leaving it at that. Maybe she would ask him his name if she ever saw him again, he’d likely make another appearance or two in the future… He had said that he would always be of service as long as her mother had things to send to her, after all. Just then, they reached the upstairs market, Phoenix approaching the clear glass counter along with Kraven to take a look at what there was to offer. A lot of it didn’t look like anything she really needed at the moment, though her eyes lit up when they caught sight of a boxed set of what were called Sweet Hearts. Apparently they were chocolate treats that served as excellent remedies for any pains or ailments a Pokemon was suffering from, and served to strengthen the bonds of companionship between them and their trainer. And what’s this? Another Lucky Egg! Phoenix wasn’t the type of person to needlessly spend money unless there was a purpose behind it, and she felt that the Sweet Hearts and another Lucky Egg would be of excellent use. Gladly paying for the items, Phoenix tucked away the Sweet Hearts for later along with the Lucky Egg, now she had at least one each for her three Pokemon that would need them the most. With that taken care of, she turned her attention back to Kraven, who seemed to be well prepared for training with Gungnir and Torch now out and at the ready. The redhead couldn’t help but chuckle at Kraven’s eagerness, though she was feeling pretty good about it too. Her Pokemon were certainly ready to go as well, Fianna and Victoria were looking especially eager to train while Hanaka, who was still rather nervous, was trying to put on her best game face too. ” I’m ready as well, let’s get to training, shall we?” she said with a smile and a nod, moving back towards the stairs to go back down to the first floor and out of the Center. Her Pokemon followed closely after her, Victoria huffing as she shoved her way past the others to take the lead ahead of them.】☆ ☆

Kraven listened as Phoenix explained her meeting with Mr. Fancy Pants. She quirked a brow when she said he was a courier. She'd seen plenty of them come and go through Lumiose, and was fairly certain the city probably had it's own courier outpost, but the butler-like man didn't exactly fit the description of any she'd ever seen. Guess some people just gotta be dashing at all times. But regardless, it didn't really matter as long they can get the job done, and the old man seemed to do just fine.
Once they were up the stairs and had all their items, the two girls were both ready to head out. Kraven walked a few steps ahead, back down to the first floor of the Pokemon Center and out the sliding azure doors. Once they were out, she immediately made a right into the forested area that surrounded town. After walking a little ways into it, Kraven stopped, scoping out the area. "Alright, if I were wild pokemon, where would I be...?" She thought aloud. Fortunately, she soon spotted her first target; a light blue Chansey. They weren't natives to Kalos, so the ebon-haired girl wouldn't know it's coloration was odd until she looked at the Pokedex.
"Alright, Torch," Kraven started, motioning for her Chimchar to come closer. The girl crouched down to his level as she dug into her bag for one of the items she bought, and handed him a small claw for him to hold. "You're up first, so knock 'em dead!" The little monkey nodded at the encouragement, and started running towards the Chansey. Kraven flashed her Pokedex, quickly checking his moves one more time before shouting, "Fire Punch!"
The Chansey jumped at the sudden shout, turning just in time to see the quick little monkey's flame-cloaked hand strike her. On reflex, she struck back with a Pound, leaving them both close to fainting, but the Chansey was closer to the verge. Another fiery attack and the Chansey fell, fainted. Kraven smiled, gripping an empty premier in one hand. "Good work, Torch, now let's wrap this up!" She shouted, chucking the ball at the fainted pokeball. It bounced off with a soft "thwack", and then drew the Chansey in with a red beam of energy. Once the target was inside, it fell to the earth, shook a few times, and then stopped with a click, confirming the capture. Kraven grinned, putting her arms up in front of her before pulling them back. "Yes! First try!"

With their first target down, Kraven quickly looked for another to fight. Fortunately, it didn't take long to find one; another Chansey with an interesting coloration. Since Torch just went, the next one up was gonna be Gungnir much to his mild annoyance. Still, there wasn't much he could really do, so he lazily started towards his would-be opponent. "Alright, Gungnir, use-" Kraven's order was cut off when the Chansey suddenly turned, striking Gungnir while his guard was down. "s**t... Counter with Hydro Cannon!"
Agitated by Chansey's hit, Gungnir was more than happy to attack him. The otter cocked his head back before throwing it forward, a massive torrent of water spewing forth from his mouth. The force was more than enough to consume their opponent, knocking them out immediately. However, his lack of preparation for the attack proved to be ill advised, as the force of the water was enough to send him flying back, and into a tree a few feet from Kraven. "s**t, Gungnir!" The ebon-haired trainer ran to her starter, who slid down the tree. "Gungnir, you alright?"
"Yeah," Gungnir replied sarcastically, rubbing the back of his head. "I just flew into a tree head-first, I'm just peachy!" Despite his complaints, Kraven still couldn't understand him, but he seemed fine. She gave him a few spritz from a potion bottle, healing him back up to 100%.
"You need to be more careful next time..." She mumbled, turning back to the fainted Chansey. She'd already caught one, but the coloration still seemed... odd, to her. It'd be a waste to just leave it there, so she decided to just catch it too, in case she could trade one with someone later.

☆ ☆【Phoenix’s eyes stayed on Kraven as she explained her brief meeting with ‘Mr. Fancy Pants’ as her companion called him. As she explained that aforementioned Mr. Fancy Pants was a courier, she noticed the quirk of Kraven’s brow, as if she didn’t quite believe that answer. Perhaps he hadn’t exactly looked much like a courier at first, what with the way he was dressed and whatnot, maybe it was just the air he gave off or his demeanor. He certainly sounded like he could’ve very well been a butler or something just from how he had addressed her… Nevertheless, Kraven didn’t press any more questions on the matter as they arrived at the little store situated on the second floor. Once the girls bought what they needed and got themselves situated, they were ready to go off and train. Phoenix and her Pokemon followed after Kraven and her team, their company heading down the stairs and out the doors into Accumula Town once again. While Kraven made her way off to the forested area to the right side, Phoenix headed for a different section of forest that was fairly adjacent to the Center. ” Let’s see what’s around here, shall we?” she asked with a smile, looking towards her Pokemon as they walked along with her. Victoria took the lead, the Houndoom huffing as she padded ahead of them.” I call dibs on first fight, maybe show the newbie how a real battler does things 'round these parts,”she said, flashing a grin back at them, directing it primarily towards Hanaka. Fianna glowered back, folding her arms as she moved to shield the Oshawott from the Houndoom’s vulture-like gaze.” Fine, go on ahead, it’ll be an absolute delight to watch you get your a** handed to you right off the bat,”she retorted, smirking challengingly towards the Houndoom. Victoria growled low in her throat, but managed to collect herself and decided it was better to just ignore the Braixen’s comments for now. She would use training as a form of stress relief, she was usually much more level-headed after she had gotten a chance to channel her anger into battling and whatnot anyways. Phoenix sighed and shook her head, she would need to try to help Victoria get along well with the rest of her team, because conflicts among members wouldn’t make for good synergy among them. Gazing ahead, she paused when she heard rustling coming from the brush nearby, and a Mareep came bursting out moments later, looking rather panicked and in a huge rush.” Oh dear… Oh dear… Oh dear… I hope I lost him… Why does everyone want to catch me so badly??”she exclaimed, speaking hastily and sounding quite alarmed. However, the Mareep wasn’t able to see where she was really going, and ended up bowling right into Victoria, the Houndoom’s eyes bulging comically as she and the sheep fell to the ground. Out of fear, the Mareep unleashed an electric shock in the means of a Thundershock, scrambling to get off of the Houndoom and away.” Y-You little-!! You’ll pay for that!”Victoria snarled, pushing the Mareep off of her as she staggered to her feet. That Thundershock had done quite a bit of damage to her, though not enough to knock her out completely. Thankfully it hadn’t paralyzed her, but it had certainly pissed her off.” I-I’m sorry! I didn’t see you there… I didn’t mean it, r-really!”stammered the panicked Mareep, who’s nervous, feminine voice resounded in Phoenix’s head. Flinching when she spotted the redheaded trainer nearby, the Mareep immediately turned tail and tried to make a run for it. Phoenix wasn’t going to let her get away that easily, the strange coloring of the sheep Pokemon struck her that it would be a good idea to catch it. ” Victoria, use Inferno! Quickly before she gets away!” she called out, feeling bad that she would need to knock out the Mareep first before catching her. But she didn’t want to waste too much time trying to chase it halfway to Striation if it kept running like this.” With pleasure…”growled the Houndoom, having absolutely no qualms about firing off her most powerful attack at the sheep that dared to shock her. Glaring fiercely, Victoria opened her jaws and blasted a large, bright tongue of flame at the back of the fleeing Mareep. The Inferno struck the sheep dead-on, the scared Mareep letting out a cry of pain before she fell to the ground only a few feet away, unconscious. Pulling out a Pokeball, Phoenix tossed it towards the fainted Mareep, the ball opening up as it hit her and she instantly vanished inside with a beam of red light. The ball fell to the grass below, wobbling a couple times before finally clicking, indicating a successful capture. Phoenix walked over, picking it up and smiling warmly as she placed the ball onto her belt, ” Heh, not half bad, Victoria, your fire is still burning as brightly as I remember~” The Houndoom scoffed a bit at the praise, but nonetheless puffed out her chest with pride as she grinned towards Hanaka.” And that, m’dear, is how a REAL fighter gets the job done n’ done good,”she boasted with a puff of smoke and ember. Fianna rolled her eyes once again, at least the Houndoom hadn’t burnt down almost half the forest if her fire attack hadn’t been nearly as precise as it could have been. Phoenix chuckled softly, pulling out a few Potions as she began spraying Victoria down. The Houndoom had taken a good bit of damage from that Thundershock, but nothing that a bit of treatment couldn't fix.】☆ ☆
