It worked! Oliver caught the Poochyena! He held the ball in his hands, feeling the weight. It was his first official catch. As much as he wanted to release her now, she was very underleveled and fainted. Oliver returned Yuki, and then found the entrance into the next town.

Teito was impressed by Akira's victory. Honestly, he didn't expect a whole lot from him yet. He was wrong. Akira was a tough little bird. Kneeling, Teito ruffled Akira's crown feathers with a pat in a silent congratulations. Akira squaked and pulled away leaning down to fix them with one foot."Ha. Guess you're passionate about your feather fashion.""Chic!"Well, Teito was passionate about cooking. Made sense he'd have a Torchic with a quirky passion itself. Standing, Teito looked around to find another opponent, but he instead spotted something limping into the town. It looked like a Litleo. What the heck was a Litleo doing all the way in Hoenn? Teito shook his head and rushed over to the little lion. It was hurt badly, and they didn't look like Pokémon marks. Looked like whip lashes. It took a nasty person to do something like this to such a small creature."Hang on, little guy."Teito got into his bag to grab a few potions to help it a little, but the Litleo fainted before he could even pull them out."Chic...!""Damn. Alright...."Teito grabbed a Poké Ball instead and used it to catch the unconsious Litleo to protect the wounds from more trauma. He stood then and ushered Akira out of Littleroot so they could get to the Pokémon Center in Oldale.

The train ride to Littleroot was a nightmare. Everywhere she looked there were guys, and trains didn't really have privacy. She spent half the ride curled up in a corner, Aaron taking Michonne's place as her guardian and Sheena watching her curiously. Finally, to her relief, an elderly lady noticed her on her way back to her VIP room, and offered to share it with her. It was such a nice thing to do for a stranger. As a way of paying her, Cheria promised to stop by her apartment in Mauville when she got there and have - proper - tea with her. She was a very friendly lady.
The train eventually stopped in Littleroot and Cheria got off after everyone else had. She hurried away from the station and stood near the trees with Aaron and Sheena until the place cleared out a bit. Finally taking a deep breath, Cheria groaned and knelt, hugging her knees. She was going to have to endure more train rides on her journey. Hopefully she managed to work on her fear between each one. The blonde jumped and let out a brief shout when her holo caster beeped. It was her father. "Hi, Daddy.""Hey, sweetheart. How's it going?""I'm...in Littleroot right now, so....Good? Oh! I got my starter from Professor Sycamore! A Froakie. I named her Sheena."

It was a long distance away from Pacifidlog Town, if one were to take the grounded routes. Fortunately, that wasn't the case for Tsubin; his father had decided to personally accompany him all the way to the mainland, namely to Professor Birch's lab in Littleroot Town. Had they taken a boat, they would've had to make too many detours on foot, and his father wasn't always a patient man when it came to traveling with some luggage. Instead, he had taken it upon himself to transport Tsubin and Hikari... with a bird Pokémon rather than a boat, like the whole family was accustomed to. His Fearow was getting old, but he was still strong and reliable. And fast.
Tsubin clung tightly to Fearow's neck with one arm, his other wrapped around the Lampent even as she struggled against his hold to keep her eyes above his forearm. His father laughed at his expense, and also at the contrast in mood between his son and Pokémon. Tsubin wasn't used to flying at all, thus warranting all of his screaming as they soared through the skies for a few minutes. Hikari, on the other hand, was quite interested in the elevation they were at, and also a hell of a lot more excited about the new experience. She seemed to like seeing land from high up, and also the other bird Pokémon flying around them. But soon enough, they were about to land back on the ground.
As soon as Fearow's feet touched the earth again after a few mighty flaps of his massive wings sent up puffs of dirt, Tsubin released his hold on Hikari as she started getting fidgety and promptly slipped off the large bird to fall to the ground. His father laughed at the sight for a few seconds before dismounting and helping his son up. "See Dad, this is why I just wanted to take a boat and then walk," he said between gasps in an attempt to calm himself down, his legs shaking under him after he was resituated on his own two feet. His father only smirked in amusement, letting out a snort. "Ah, get used to it," he chided. "It's not like this'll be the last time you'll have to fly. Besides, have you noticed how much time we saved?""Uh, yeah. A lotta time that I could've spent getting used to not walking around like I'm still at home on a raft.""Heh. You'll get used to it, Mr. Snarky. Just take a page from Hikari's book; she seems fine.""Dad, she doesn't even walk anymore." Hikari seemed happy with the acknowledgement, but her trilled whistles sounded more like a small fit of laughter.
Tsubin's father only grinned triumphantly as his son pouted. "Well, I gotta go get some new stuff now, Dad. Hikari doesn't even have her own Pokeball yet. I shouldn't be long in there, I think."

Not surprisingly, Marx didn't quite catch on. In fact, the mere idea of connecting the dots between her earlier behavior with him, and her answer, didn't seem to even manifest in his mind, at least, not at the moment. "Certain people?" he repeated, but then smiled, "Don't worry! I can protect you from them!" He made the offer without even thinking, just on reflex, trying to make her feel better. He was kind of curious what she meant by 'certain people', but his mind was already split on the ranger school, the conversation, and so many other things, he couldn't quite focus enough to think of what she might mean himself.
He blinked as one of his pokeballs shook, tapping it and releasing a slightly irritated zubat, who quickly flew up into the sky, Marx scratching his head as he watched in a bit of amusement. Apparently he wanted to get out of his pokeball and stretch his wings before they all climbed onto the train for a bit... His attention shifted back to Cheria, though, and he started towards the ticket booth, not even flinching as the bat landed on his shoulder.

It was official. Marx was an oblivious man. At least he was sweet, offering to protect her from those certain people. Too bad he was part of that crowd. Well, sort of? She was starting to get comfortable with him, which would please her mother and probably get her father into that protect mode fathers had. She'd...hold off on telling him. "I'll...hold you to that." That was a decent response, wasn't it? It was so different talking to a guy. Cheria let out a shout when a Zubat escaped his ball and flew around before landing on Marx's shoulder. Oh....I missed a wonderful shot.... Oh, well. She'd probably get another chance sometime. "I never knew Zubat were so cute. I usually only see them in pictures taken in caves, and they're...less than appealing in the camera flash." She wanted one now, but she knew they evolved into Golbat and their gaping mouths horrified her.

A happy smile crossed Marx's face at Cheria's response, though he blinked a little surprise when she cried out at his pokemon's escape. "Heh, sorry," he apologized, gently placing a hand on the bat as it landed on his shoulder, wings grappling at his shoulder to keep its balance. The sonar pokemon's ears twitched at her voice, perking up, its mouth shutting with one tooth still sticking out as it seemed to pick up on being mentioned. It gave a small squeak and shifted, looking up at Marx and giving another small sound, as if trying to figure out if she was referring to him, by addressing both of them.
Marx didn't seem to notice his pokemon's attempts at understanding their conversation, but grinned at Cheria's comment. "Hehe, really? I guess I haven't really seen them in a camera's flash. I caught this one here in the cave over by Dewford. Same with my Sableye, actually," he remarked, gently patting the bat, which had started squeaking insistently to try and get his attention-- and an answer.
Marx, however, shifted his attention from the bat, looking the other direction as he stepped up to the booth, getting his ticket, and then pausing to look back at Cheria. "Did you want to get those special tickets?" he asked curiously, shifting a bit so that she could look at the price ranges.

Zubat seemed confused, and Cheria tilted her head a bit. Aaron noticed this, too, and shook his head. "You...have a Sableye? Those are the strange Pokemon with gems as eyes, right?" She tilted her head at Zubat's behavior. Was he okay? Walking up to the booth, she waited for Marx to get his ticket before nodding to his question and looking at the price board. Even with the trainer discount, they were passed her budget. She should have brought more money with her when she left home. "Truffle and ketchup. I'm twenty short....""Well, I'm sure it'll be fine. You can hide behind me and Marx. And, Sheena." Sheena glared up at Aaron at his less than convinced tone. He wasn't very strong either. "Scatter?"

The brunette nodded when Cheria recalled what a Sableye was, though, his smile seemed to grow a little worried at the thought. "Heh, yeah... That's them. Mine's a little mischievous, though, so I try and keep him in his pokeball," he admitted, turning his smile sheepish and rubbing the back of his neck. He shifted a little and fell silent, though, as she looked at the prices, blinking a bit when he heard her... saying? Curse? He wasn't even sure what that was, but it made him smile, at any rate.
"Hmm... I'd offer to spot you, but then I wouldn't be sure if I could get on," he remarked, looking at the prices. He perked up, though, as he noticed, then looked at her. "Oh! Actually, I could give you some money so you could get a ticket for one of the carts or something, but I couldn't sit with you," he said, looking at her, "Do you want to do that? Then we can just get off at the stop together and find each other there." He didn't want her to miss the stop, but... he DID say he would protect her against the people she was scared of! And letting her have her own cart would certainly help with that.
Zubat seemed to give up, shifting around on Marx's shoulder, to which the boy gave him a little pat on the head for. His trainer seemed to busy to listen... for now.
