"Holy cow, you are a trip," she said. "I'm pretty sure no one who was willing to end up here was born lucky. Everyone here's a mess, pretty sure, or else they'd be somewhere else." Her swing back in was equally brutal, with a derisive little laugh. "I'm not going to sit there and stew in it, though. You got that base covered, if Twitter's any clue." HP: 25 DMG: 6 CHG: 3/3

"Some people are just ******** stupid to the extreme." Rep said. "Ending up here is no like, guarantee that they were in any bad situation, a lot of them were just selfish little shits who wanted to put their problems behind them." And it was true he felt, a lot of the people he'd run into as far as he was concerned had run away from perfectly acceptable lives, leaving broken families in the wake of their departure. "But I wouldn't expect you to concede a ******** thing." In his eyes, women were always liars, always contrary, always hiding a hundred layers of duplicity behind their eyes. Of course she wouldn't concede to facts.
He leapt forward again, clearing several meters in a leap, and with more maliciousness even than before, he swung the enormous axe at her slim shoulder, hoping to leave a mark but knowing that realistically he would not.

It knocked the wind out of her for a second, a hiss between her teeth as she danced back, trying to fall back on the convenience of being a small target to avoid a repeat. "Nah, man," she managed. "I'm supposed to be a scientist now, or whatever. That's not how science works. Science is all about conceding when you're wrong. I'm just not wrong right now." She weaved in to swing again, flinching at the close proximity to the axe this required but landing a credible blow despite herself. HP: 16 DMG: 6 CHG: 3/3

"Hahahah a ******** scientist." he cackled. "Bitches like you only understand one ******** science and that's the science of being slags. You've probably already spent too much time ******** worrying about your hair or your little cute outfits to fit anything else in that wee heid never mind something as ******** fancy as science."
Despite her slight size, when she landed strikes they were brutal, and it took a lot of self control to resist the urge to hiss in pain as his shield took the backlash.
He leapt backwards, trying to gain some distance between them once more and took quick advantage of the close range to rake every serrated bladed edge of the weapon along her shield as he did so.

Despite the pain, despite the air getting knocked out of her again, despite tears springing to her eyes from the sheer fact that she wasn't used to it, she managed a little laugh.
"You are out of your mind," she laughed. "You're like someone ran one of those 1950s PSAs through a 'crazy guy on YouTube' filter."
It took every ounce of bravery that was in her--it was visible in the way she hesitated, in the wide of her eyes, in the duck and weave and quiver of her movements--but with a deep breath she forced herself once more into the jaws of his weapon in order to take a final, desperate swing. This time it was met with Reau's hiss of irritation.
"Stop," she said. "Shield's about to bust."

"I'm one of the only ******** people who see the truth anymore. All there ******** is are people who have been brainwashed by a ******** generation raised railing against a ******** imaginary patriarchy, men castrated at birth by a ******** world where women are given default rein over their ******** life. ******** all of it."
The word stop in Rep's mind was nothing but a challenge to be defied. And with the wards ever present, ever blocking him from the satisfaction of doling out actual pain, actual fear to others, he relied instead on surprising them instead.
"And no. There are wards." he snarled. "Suck it the ******** up." And swung again.

Fear flickered into her face, there and gone, replaced almost instantly with anger. How dare he. How dare he make her afraid, here, where she was supposed to be safe. "You're right. We're just the superior sex in every way, and it's about time you acknowledged it. Thanks for being so cooperative in our efforts to rule the world and abiding by the knowledge that we're smarter, prettier, and less friggin' insane than all of you." Her strike was almost distracted--breezy, careless, delivered in a literal backhand. HP: 2 DMG: 4 CHG: 3/3

Her comments nailed Rep in the very heart of so many insecurities and dislikes that for a moment he was completely overtaken with sheer fury. The two things he hated most, arrogance and women, rolled into one statement. "EXCEPT YOU ARE <******** WRONG." he roared, his indignance only heightened by her callous strike, hands white-knuckled on the axe. "That's the ******** spit in the face about it all, its all ******** bullshit, women are inferior, they have always ******** been inferior."
It was black, cold fury that overtook him, like a rock in his chest carved out of sheer frustration. Once again he despaired at the injustice of this place with its weapons and shields that set the slighter sex on even footing where they had no place being. It was arming emotional and irrational creatures and it was the inherent bitchiness that was part of them that had corrupted the entire organisation so entirely. It should have been militant, it should have been so many things but it wasn't, it was just ******** ruined by bitches.
"Its because of bitches that this ******** island never gets ******** done. Too much flirting, too much ******** shoes, clothes, makeup and SHITTY ******** MOVIES."
He jabbed a finger at her, completely livid. "And you are just another ******** BRICK IN THAT WALL."

This time she did laugh, a sincere peal of girlish, delighted laughter, and the blades sank into his shield with satisfaction, hard and accurate. "Power-hungry, manipulative, overbearing supervillains with BAD TASTE IN MOVIES," she taunted. HP: 2 DMG: 8 CHG: 3/3

The sound Rep made was somewhere off the scale of comprehensible speech, more a snarl of sheer outrage as the blades connected hard - too hard - with his shield. It was like being kicked back down the ladder, back to the first day on the island where he had told Candace what she was and had found himself learning brutally that on this island they armed everyone exactly the same, even if they were not in any capacity the same in the merits of gender.
It only made it harder to tolerate that Marie was also female. Laid low thanks to women, story of his ******** life, time and time again.
He staggered and caught himself stooped on his fingertips before throwing himself back up to stand, to twist the axe around, sweating now, to glare at her, eyes wild, hurting a lot more than he'd admit. "Everything. EVERYTHING." he said, his voice gravelling from yelling. "Is EASY for you cunts." Even this. If she lost it was expected, she didn't lose anything, she was just a woman, but if she won, his masculinity would be forfeit for a time, something for her to parade over him, to leave him flayed and skulking like an animal seeking a spot to die.
The injustice threw his aim off, he put in too much force, too much rage and hatred and not nearly enough direction, the swing colliding primarily with the dirt on the fields themselves.

The redhead let out a wild and raucous laugh that was also undisguisedly manic. How dare she he thought? How dare ******** anyone try and imply that things for him were easy? How dare they try and understand what it was like to have a libido, to have expectations of masculinity? To have to deal with a WORLD full of judgemental bitches who wanted an ideal man who was IMPOSSIBLE? They wanted a man that was sensitive and yet tough, rich and yet down to earth, endless ******** dichotomies, and he had torn himself in TWO to be those things and still no one was every happy. There was nothing left in him but anger.
"Oh ho ho hoo ye wee ********' tart." he growled, hunching low like a feral animal, teeth bared as he spat every word in a gravelly snarl. " YE'VE NO GOAT A ******** CLUE."
And drawing upon every bit of energy he had (and some he didn't) he leapt into the air as high as he could and twisted, throwing his entire weight behind the blade as he rammed into her.
"Yay've NAE.." and he had to catch his breath as he staggered backwards, axe still in hand. ."...nae idea."

The twin blades winked out, Reau the sensation of a cat slinking back into the shadows with a flick of her tail, and Astrid reeled back breathless and clutching at her chest, the tears that had started to her eyes a few strikes back beading on her eyelashes before they fell, and she looked through them at Rep not with anger or fear but with what could only be described as disappointment. "You've got much bigger problems than women," she informed him, lofty despite her obvious pain.

Rep laughed again but this time it was shorter sardonic barks.
Tracey was desummoned with a vague wave. "You don't ******** say?" he ached himself, but would do anything he could not to show it, kept composed and steady with all the mortal intensity of a lame deer before a pack of wolves. Never show weakness, even in victory.
"But I disagree, all my problems. Every ******** last one, stemmed from women. They were the root and the ******** cause. They tried to make me like their ******** ideals and because they will never ******** know what they want, I'm the ******** result. My problems are ALL women."
He turned his back and started to walk away. "But it's nice to know, even the proud ones will still let me use them."

For a moment, maybe, it seemed like that'd be the end of it: a tearful Astrid retrieving her coffee cup, her movements stilted with pain, and Rep walking off to stew in his anger and his triumphant parting shot. Instead he managed to get a few strides away before a noise erupted behind him. Given that Rep had seen awful female movies, maybe it would occur to him, now or later, to equate it to Regina George discovering that chocolate protein bars in fact make you fat, not skinny. She was tiny, in pain, and unlike her sister, unaccustomed to fighting. She was all soft edges and laziness and chronic meekness. The sudden rain of fists on was absolutely ineffectual, and so she made an effort to simply scramble up his back to grab a few fistfuls of hair, screeching as she did so: "You did not use me and I know exactly what I want and it's to beat the s**t out of you." Not that she could. But she wanted to.
