"Love?" The word was foreign on his lips. The blonde Gehaka continued to carve in the wood, he had a natrual talent for it, and while it wasn't some worthy of a skilled master, it was decent, and you could tell what was being carved. Taini was carving the Haka before him, glancing up every so often to make sure the detail was correct.
"I've heard of love, but... I don't know exactly what it is... And if you already have a home, you should have some Gehaka to protect you Tsukiko-san. It is not good for you to be around by yourself, and yet you are here. I bet your mother finds you as stubborn as mine does." His broad shoulders were relaxed, and his eyes darted to the wood, to the Haka, and around. While Taini was good with a sword, he had learned some hand to hand combat as well from the Gehaka who most assumed was his other parent, due to the likeness in frame and coloring.

 "no need to use honorifics. Just call me Tsukiko" The haka said and glanced back at the other. "I can protect myself. I believe in love and I don't think I'll marry utnil I find it in a gehaka, if I find it..." Tsukiko said and twriled around, obviously fantasizing. "okay well maybe I'm not so good at fighting or protecting myself but I don't I'll come across a vital problem where I'll be defenseless." He admitted with a sigh.

Taini looked up again, this time right into the other's eyes, even though his knees felt like giving out. He'd have to get the eyes right, they were a lovely shape...
"I'm sorry Tsukiko, but while you maybe be able to defend yourself somewhat, if another Haka so chooses, he can send out a few gehaka to take care of you. I do not think you would be able to handle even one well trained gehaka." It was the truth, and he tried to make the other see that, his blue eyes pleading for a moment, before they turned back to the wood in his hands. The basic shape was cut, and he began to work the details of the kimono the other wore.

"you're probably right but why would anyone send out gehaka to take care of me?" Tsukiko asked. "and it's not like I'm living alone. I've got my half-brother Kratos to take care of me. He's living with me because my house is closer to the hervs that he gathers so oto-san can turn them into medicine for oka-san's business. Oka-san owns a medicine store." He added. "but most of the time I'm on my own, which I like. Everyone needs personal space you know..."

"Another Haka could do that for different reasons... like jealousy or something..." Taini shut up quickly, biting his bottom lip once more. Haka were beautiful. Everyone knew that Gehaka quietly watched them, and dreamed of them, well...maybe not everyone. The Haka almost seemed to ignore it sometimes. Some Haka were prettier than others, Taini himself had seen a few, but non as dark skinned as Tsukiko before him. The blonde found the oddity wonderfuly beautiful. The gehaka merely continued to shape the kimino, working on the obi a bit more, trying to get the grace into the wood.

"I don't think that anyone will be jealous of me..." tsukiko said quietly with a sigh. He didn't find himself as pretty as the other haka but he still felt it was on the inside that counts. Most of the beautiful haka were cold, so he had to be grateful for his open heart and mind. "I'm going to marry. I just want to be in love with my first husband" He said and then shut himself up. He watched the gehaka carve the wood with fascination.

"Why not Tsukiko? I bet they would be," there was a slight mark on the blonde's lips from his teeth, but he still carved. The kimono was done, and Taini worked on the feet, and the slightly raised sandals. They were quickly done, as the young Gehaka began on the ears. He didn't notice the other watching, or he would have blushed, and hid the wood. Haka, even one as friendly and nice as Tsukiko, still made his knees feel so weak.

Tsukiko shrugged. "I dunno about that one" He said and continued to watch the toher for awhile. He looked ahead of them. His house wasn't that far from here. "we're almost at my house. When we get there, would you come in for some tea?"

Taini blushed slightly, but nodded slowly. It was nice, speaking to this Haka. He really....liked it.
"You are very kind Tsukiko...thank you." The blonde gehaka gluped slightly, putting the finishing touches on the ears. He only had the hair and the face to go, the rest was complete. "I will finish this before we get there, so I don't get wood chips on your floor." He smiled slightly, starting on the hair. A fleeting thought of giving the wood carving to Tsukiko came to his mind, and his stomache turned over. It would be a nice gift, in return for the tea and interesting conversation. The bottom lips was once again bit, as Taini continued to carve.

"you can do things at your own pace. I won't mind having wood chips on my floor. I can always clean it but if you think that you'll be finished before we enter my house, even better" Tsukiko said and smiled.

Taini almost made a face. Tsukiko would clean up a mess he would make? His stomache flipped again, the little Haka didn't know that almost every word that he spoke shocked the Gehaka so much.
After finishing the details of the hair, Mabyn moved on to the face. It was so easy to slip and mar the sandy colored wood in his hands, yet with so much pratice under his belt, the blonde's hands were steady.
"I will be finished in just a moment Tsukiko..." It still felt weird, saying his name without an honorific at the end. Taini silently added it afterwards, his lips moving without the voice.

"okay, that's good because a couple of more minutes and we'll be there" The dark-skinned haka said. He started to hum a song, humming always seemed to make time slip by him quicker. He then started to watch the other again. He admired the gehaka's great skill.

Slowly, the face began to take shape, then it became almost identical to the one before him. The small nose, the almond shaped eyes, so bright. The delicate eyebrows, and the soft looking lips, slightly tilted into a soft smile.
The blonde gehaka looked down at the smaller version of the Haka before him. He smiled, and looked up. There was just a slight blush on his cheeks.
"Here Tsukiko... for speaking with me, like no one but my mother has," he added it as a bit of a joke, and offered up the little figurine to the raven haired beauty. His blue eyes looked off to the side, and into the blue waters of the river.

 Shizuka kept working, the sweat trickling down his chest and back and dripping off into the dirt as silently as the fish swam beneath the river waters. It was time for a break, but not for long. His mother was harsh and expected more of him than his brothers; they had all been married off to rich Hakas and were worth their keep now that they were gone. He was the final one, no thanks to his shy nature and insecure health...
Shizuka dropped his carving tool, which resembled a curved, flattened pick-ax, and sat on the cool ground under the canopy. He soon layed out flat and sighed to himself... yes, it was time for a break. He closed his eyes and felt the sweat dry, smiling to himself. This was the only time and place that he felt completely at ease... as if he could do anything... talk to anyone...
But would anyone come along?

Tsukiko took the figurine carefully. He examined it and squealed in delight. "it's so beatiful. Are you sure I can really have this?" The haka asked. "rest assured that I will take good care of it but I must give you something in return. just talking to you won't be enough. I always talk"
