Xarthin. Alright. That was a nice, reasonable name for something that could easily gnaw your arm off for fun. She stiffened when the janarim curled around her but was at least capable of not panicking. Instead, she gave it another affectionate pet and smiled close-lipped to it, just in case baring your teeth was a sign of aggression for janarim.

"Oh? My kinfa just sort of stumbled into camp, and my girl's-- well. She found us. I have to say, though, I've never seen one of these," she gestured to Xarthin, "outside of the battlefield."

There was a brief pause as she considered the offer, then shrugged. What could it hurt? Since she and Hijil had moved further from Andile it might be nice to make connections in a different settlement nearby.

"Sure, I'd like that. I'm not sure how long I can stay, but I'm curious." Obans in Jauhar. Hah! "So you're a dancer, you said? What does your brother do?"

She had also, to her credit, never met a male dancer before.

"I think they are popping up more and more due to the encampment and the aftermath of the battle. Some I expect were separated from their original owners. We are not sure what he was doing on the borderlands perhaps seeking some shade due to the dark coloration."

"Excellent I think I have a pot of water all ready to go I just have to put it on the fire. We have some of the local tea or some from Oba, which would you prefer?"

"Reil is an aspiring swordsman, single sword not the double, I don't think he liked the coordination it took with two, something about it not feeling right. I wouldn't know I handle weapons like they are a live snake." Keelthy grinned and poked the janarim, "Let her out you big brat, its time to go back, we gotta make tea."

Xarthin grunted at him but shuffled over so that Bhima could walk. He headbutted Keel gently and headed off the way they had come, "He makes a good bushwaker I tell you that." Keel murmered.

Soon they were back at the shanty in the Oban camp, it was modest (for Obans) but bustling and Keel thought it was started to get larger as more people trickled in.

"Ours seemed to know each other, and they came with a sprite. He's left since, luckily." To this day, Bhima was not very fond of sprites. As the janarim unraveled, she turned to follow Keelthy toward his encampment.

"I can understand that. I'd always carried a spear with me when I went outside Andile, but it wasn't quite right. I prefer using both hands." At least the Alkidike had relaxed enough to walk casually beside this new stranger, both blades sheathed to avoid anyone perceiving her as a threat.

She was surprised by the activity in Keelthy's home encampment. How did so many Obans exist in Jauhar without especial danger? It was almost like the Alkidike and Shifter conflict of old. Shifters had moved in and the natives were restless. Certainly this camp would see some racism over time, if it was found.

"This is nice," she nodded, "I don't know what I was expecting." Ooh, and there were some decent crystals on the outskirts that may just match the color of the beads in her bag! Was she supposed to ask permission to take them...?

"Ooh that is interesting!" Keel said as he poured tea and handed her a cup. "Maybe they were siblings or they fly in flocks!" Despite their rarity he had decided he really wanted a kinfa. Now the problem was where would he get one, he might very well be heading back to Oba soon now that he and Reill were getting stronger. Who knew if they would stay there if things went in their favor.

"I may eventually bend and get some of those small dagger things, least I could use them as a prop for dance, I'm sure some people might like the edge." He couldn't always find a girl skilled enough to do the fancy passionate dances so this would be a way to make up for that, he would have to talk to Reill about procuring them.

Keel saw her eyeing the crystals and glancing one way then the other he pulled some off and handed them to her. "Here, a gift, you have been most interesting and kind."

And if someone had problem with her having them she could legitly tell them it was given by a local Oban. Politics were manipulatable.

Bhima always felt tall, but for some reason this encampment made her feel enormous; enormous and boldly green. Regardless of her discomfort, though, she settled into a cross-legged position and accepted the cup with a polite little nod. She blew on it to cool it and nodded.

"We think ours were... nestmates. They seemed to know each other, and the sprite too. I can't imagine you'd want an adult to start with, though, not something so huge and wild. I've seen babies for sale here and there, but not many. I'd say go for the knives. It's always good to have protection against... well. Everything." Nevermind the fact that disapproval might start crawling out of the woodwork if her sisters caught wind of this place.

She must have been looking too blatantly at the natural crystals for she found herself offered some and smiled. It was that obvious, huh?

"Thanks," she replied as she tucked them into her bag, and then as per Keelthy's style offered unnecessary information for the sake of kindness. "I do beadwork to supplement my income. Actually--" She paused to dig around in her bag a little and came out with a strand of beads of all colors, just her works in progress and the shades she hoped to find more crystals in. "Would you like some?" She didn't generally offer presents, but he had to her. "For free, I mean."

"Oh!" Keel said, surprised and delighted all at once. He peered at the string and pointed at a dark sky blue bead, "May I have that one please?"

The beads were beautiful and of fine craftsmanship, " You are very talented, I have no luck with wood or whittling whatsoever, Reill says I risk my thumbs." Keelthy giggled. "And he is probably right, hence the need for dagger training before I dance with them, I think its not quite as simple as don't scratch yourself with it.'

"Does the beadwork bring in a lot of money? I have wondered how the merchant live off of buying and selling, do they offer you good deals?" he asked curiously.

Bhima nodded and pulled the beads from the string, letting them fall into her palm in order to reach the one Keelthy had mentioned. She had three total and the color was not especially rare, so she took all three and offered them out.

"Luckily a dull knife won't really do any damage without serious force," she replied, smirking, "but then they're not so great for self-defense, not that I think anyone's going to harass the young man with the janarim."

She began to string the beads back onto the string in no particular order. She could organize them later, after she'd made the new batch. Her attention turned back to her tea once the beads had changed hands and she sipped it. She wasn't sure what to expect, but it was a fairly nice flavor, really. The Alkidike herself didn't drink much tea at home.

"I don't know about 'a lot,' but it does mean I get some spending money. I tend to sell to craftsmen and trade only for necessities. The actual bead-making they're not usually so fond of, so much as the designing. As for their deals, it depends on the merchant. There has to be mutual trust and respect and sometimes that can take a while to warm up. Then there are some you'd want to avoid entirely, like with anything else." She took a deeper sip of tea and turned up just a moment to watch a couple pass by. They eyed her, but shuffled off speaking in low tones. Hey, it was better than a walk-by shanking.

Keelthy gracefully accepted all three, "Thank you so much, these are so beautiful." He rolled the beads in his palm thinking of how he could put them in a future outfit if he wanted. He stared at the intruding Obans, if they wanted Bhima, his guest, they would have to go through him and to get to him, they would have to go through...

Xarthin stood and growled at the walkers. He would take no swag from outsiders, this was his territory, you had to be invited and they were not. SO he escorted them off the premesis, he came back preeening and placed his head on Bhima's lap in a gesture that was cute if you could ignore his size and his fangs.

"Well, that makes it official, looks like you are a welcome guest here at any time." Keelthy chuckled. He was very happy to have made a new friend. Hopefully they would never have to test loyalties against each other. Then again he probably would never have to being a dancer and not a fighter.

Bhima couldn't help but smirk as she sipped her tea and watched the great beast shuffle their latest observers off. She shook her head and saw Xarthin return as well, and where he placed himself was altogether charming. Rather than worry, the Alkidike just smiled and pet the janarim's head affectionately. Her head rose after a moment and she gave a thankful nod.

"Thank you. Should you ever run across my home, do feel free to stop by. We're about two miles east from here, and my girl isn't the type to hold grudges." She didn't really feel like she was any more, either. There was a lot to be learned in this world, and sneering at it wasn't doing anyone any good.

"Thank you Bhima, you have no idea how much that means to me." he was truly touched that this alkidike thoguht so highly of him. She accepted everything he was, which could not be easy; Oban, Male, Dancer. In his own families book, that was an odd combination. And only his closest family accepted it. It made him a bit bitter..but he would show them. He smiled predatorialy at the thought.

"You need an escort home? You can take Xarthin until you feel safe enough, I'm sure he will find me again." He rolled his eyes comically.

It was an odd combination, but since when had that changed Bhima's opinion of anyone? Odd folks were often the most interesting. Just look at her friends and the woman she'd chosen as her lover. Odd wasn't bad, not at all.

"Thanks, but I'll be fine," she said with a smile, gently setting her tea cup aside so she wouldn't stomp it. She moved gently under the janarim and bravely pushed his head up... at least it was bravely for her.

"It was nice to meet you, Keelthy," She said, offering a hand before she left entirely.

Keelthy shook her hand, "And you as well."
