Lyle cheered when the attack not only hit, but made Azzu hurt himself, too. He decided not to press his luck though, and called for another Venoshock.
Hematite was happy to use that, since she didn't have to get too close. She stayed a safe distance away as she fired off another burst of poisonous mist.

"Oh no..." April said as she watched Azzu tackle the ground. Trying to recover from the blow Azzu stumbled back and forth, resembling a Spinda. As April saw the Haunter try a poison jab once more she cried out, "Azzu!"
As the Zangoose wobbled, the poison jab narrowly missed as Azzu fell forward. "Azzu, get up!" The young girl shouted from trainer box, "Use shadow claw!" The blue Zangoose stumbled but rose from the ground and shakily ran towards his enemy.

Even though Azzu was as wobbly as a tower of gelatin, he got a lucky hit and managed to hit Hematite hard. Things were not looking good, but Lyle refused to give up yet! "Hematite, try Poison Jab again!" It seemed their only chance, now.
Hematite was starting to have trouble holding herself together, and wisps of mist were escaping her around the edges. She kept fighting anyway, darting in close to try landing another punch.

"Almost there Azzu!" April shouted. "Just a little bit more!" However being so close to the Haunter left an opening of attack. Azzu gave a roar as he was hit by the poison jab and once again felt the poison enter his body. "End this quick Azzu- use shadow claw one more time!"

Hematite could hold together once more. She started to drift apart more quickly, so Lyle quickly recalled her. "Good match!" he yelled to his opponent before hurrying off to the Pokémon Center.

"Good match." April responded to the trainer as she called back Azzu as well. She had to hurry to the center as well so Azzu could recover from his poison. "Good work Azzu!"
