I was called here because I was told there was a dead horse that was being beaten! Also I am distressed by this thread's lack of Elincia. Anyway. My list. 1. Ike Interacts with many people on many levels, learn more about both parties, fun accepting guy but that's not always a good thing, blah blah blah you've heard it. 2. Leif He's hurting and trying so hard but not always succeeding in a situation where just existing can cause all sorts of problems, but he can face 'em head on and travel that bumpy road 'till the end. When his theme plays I just am overcome with feelings and can't help but blurt out how much I love him. The feelings of facing and overcoming adversity is just so synonymous with FE5 and all of my love of it, and I just associate it all with Leif and his themes. 3. Elincia Talk about between game development! She's as strong as they come, and even if part 2 was short, she really made it en emotional and excellent experience. At her first appearance you can tell she's developed as a result of ruling a country for three years, but we get to see the true test and her get pushed to the brink, and it's excellent. 4. Eliwood/Hector They're tied. I just feel like they foil one another so well, and they both are very interesting in quite different ways. Don't break up the buddies! 5. Lucina She remembers that there's actually important things to do, and if everyone had her priorities Awakening would be a lot more interesting. She's also fun, emotional, caring, has some of the best and strongest interactions in the game. When she's around everyone acts a head above themselves. 6. Marth I feel like a lot of folks misunderstand Marth, and not just the smash bros fans. Marth being the compassionate prince that has to dive headfirst into the history that humanity forgot doesn't mean he's bland. Nice does not equal bland (pet peeve, sorry). Though with that said I think that FE3 went too far with the "WE HUMANS HAVE WRONGED THE WORLD" shpeal, and I feel Marth became too much of a squish. I think Shadow Dragon is where I like him the most, since it gave him a bit more of an edge that FE3 was lacking. It's actually kinda cool to look at how his personality and design evolve over the series' course. 7. Seliph It's funny, because after having FE4 sink into my head over the years and more recently watching the game's retranslation, everything that used to aggravate me about Seliph now fascinates me. He is forced to fill shoes that are far too big for him, simply because of who is parents are, and because his side needs a figurehead to unite under for a country he's never even set foot in, something which is not exactly kept a secret from him. I used to lament that these themes would have really driven Gen 2 home had they gone further with them, but now I see they were there all the time. He's an interesting contrast to Leif, and both of them deal with similar themes in different ways. Celice is genuinely sweet kid, too. Really, I love that I was at first miffed at gen 2 because while these themes were present, they weren't presented. But now, they're far more present, just from a better localization job. I'm just happy I could see the potential before so I can really appreciate it now. 8. Ephraim I actually wanted to put him higher on the list but I don't feel right doing so until I've beaten FE8 again. If you've read my PMU, still on hiatus due to life getting in the way, I kinda rediscovered him. I saw that he wasn't just a smug a*****e, but he seemed to have a serious inferiority complex going on that infiltrated his dialogue, which I find interesting. 9. Sigurd I agree with FD, everything that happens to Sigurd makes for an excellent crescendo of human misery, but I find myself not being as fond of the man himself as I am of what he causes. His actions speak of his character, sure, but his part of the game is a little impersonal to me at times because of that. I still like the character though, and the scene with Sigurd and Dierdre talking to Seliph at the beach is really something special. Makes me wonder if he himself might have learned from the whole affair after death. 10. Chrom One chapter. One chapter is just my emblem of all the potential FE13 has, and Chrom is one of the FE13 aspects that I really like on the principle of that potential. I like that he's overly aggressive at times, and if they went all out with addressing it and focused more on balancing it with dorky Chrom and sweet fatherly accepting Chrom, he might be among my favorites.

I would've put Elincia on my list, but I didn't think she actually counted as a "lord" in the FE sense. Otherwise, she would've been my #1 lord.
Wait... would Elincia count? The game does end if she dies.

Ninja Ryu11 Interesting list guys. I actually put Leaf on top mostly because I feel he's written very well. Also, Shinon you'll soon begin to understand once you play FE5 fully that there's a reason why Leaf is so good. Opinions may vary from person to person but I really like Leaf a lot as a character. The reason why I put Leaf as my number #1 favorite lord is because of the way he grows.(Plus he has an excellent design) I mean, even judging from the opening cinemtaics and that amazing brass music in the background. The entire freaking Thracia Army is after Leaf even as an infant he sees his entire kingdom burning in flames. ke is my 2nd favorite lord. I think he's a great character in FE9. Actually both him and Leaf do share lots of similarities. He interacts with every character connected to the story. The only minor nitpick I have with Ike is the scene with Sanaki. I understand that his heart was in the right place, but speaking against an important person who has a higher title was very dumb. if Sanaki didn't do anything about it Ike could've been executed right on the spot You could probably argue that this was part of his development? Which I can understand.. Aside from that his character is still done very well. I love that he interacts with every single character he meets. Even the ones that aren't all that important they have a say in the army. Ike wants to become stronger and protect his friends and family. He's a bit of a brute, and kind of childish sometimes but he listens and understands people. It's the bonds he forges through friendship that makes him a strong character. Once he's taken command of the greil mercenaries, Ike still manages to give it his all. Not very easy at first since what happens to his father... It was hard to deal with. But he learns the ropes eventually. and takes the responbilites of being the new commander. RD Ike not so much though he's not to blame since the writers barely gave the Greil Mercenaries any depth as characters they once had before. There's a few good scenes here and there but that's it really. Ike is ripped in RD seriously. Ephraim is third because I like the idea of a strong king. But Ephraim is carefree and doesn't care much for ruling a kingdom and he's more of a fighter than anything. Heck, I remember he mentioned that he'd rather travel the world as a mercenarry. But that's wht I like about Ephraim because he begins to understand the importance of becoming a ruler of Renais. Plus, he's overpowered as heck as a unit. But he has great characterization and the scenes with Lyon Some fans actually don't like Eliwood. And I never got the reason why. But I've always liked him and found him to be very underrated. He's kindhearted, compassionate, modest and very likable. He has some very powerful scenes like the one where his father Lord Ebert dies in front of him. And when Ninian is slain by his hand later in the game. And the ending is still a tear jerker to me. He's number 4 for me. I like Eliwood more than Hector but he's great too. Strong, brash, reckless, and reliable prince. One of my favorite scenes is the one with Oswin and Hector in his story mode. He kept the death of Hector's brother Uther a secret from him and the way the scene is handled is done very clever. But he does grow and learn responsiblity for his kingdom in time. I still like Marth in Shadow Dragon and in FE12. He's definitely my 6th favorite lord. I'm not really a big fan of Marth's portrayal in the fan translation of the original games. The localization team really captured Marth very well. He's the childish prince but also very idealistic. He really has some great scenes with Jeigan in Book 2 as well. Now for Celice/ or Seliph as some may call him... I'm not a big fan of him and there's probably fans that like him. But I think he had promise and the scenes between him and Levin are really good. Even though, the translations for some of big lipped aligator moments were poorly handed. And heck, I think the scenes between him and Julia were cute I guess. The extra scene before he fights Alvis I do like. So he's number 7. I placed Lyn in number eight since I think out of the female lords she stands out the most for me. Even though, there are some things I don't like about her. She's a strong female lord and there's not that many of them. I also, like the fact that she's a tribeswoman The scene with the Marquess in Araphen really defines her heritage of who she is and why she's so proud to be part of the Lorca tribe. Chrom is number 9 because I only like one scene with him. And that's when he's angry. He's a nice guy sure, but I don't find him all that interesting. There's some comedic moments with him here and there. But that's kinda it... And at last Sigurd is my least favorite lord. Ironically in the past, I used to like him a lot. He's still an amazing unit in FE4. But I realized that what made him interesting is the end of Generation I. How he's involved in the plot is more interesting rather than him as a character. The romance between Dierdre and Sigurd is pretty rushed and we're xpected to accept that they're a couple. Sure, Sigurd cares for the people and he's a nice guy and he does suffer tragically. But there's not really much to him as an actual character. I like the friendship between Sigurd, Eltosian(Good ol Eldy bby), and Cuan. It would've been cool to explore that some more. So I wanted to make a few changes to my previous list which I posted earlier.I wasn't really satisfied with the placements I gave certain lords. And to be honest, I didn't talk nearly as much as I wanted to. So here's my redone list of favorite lords. (I apologize for posting this late. I've been so busy lately with classes and life) 1. Leaf- Still my favorite lord. In FE4 we didn't get a whole lot of scenes with LEaf but the scenes that are good are really really good. The conversations with Altenna and Fin I feel really stood out. But Thracia 776 really gave Leaf more characterization and more depth compared to what I've seen with most FE lords. What makes him interesting to me is how he makes little of what he has and constantly changes the outcome of the challenges he's faced with. Thracia not only took the lives of his both parents, but they took his entire homeland and burned it aflame And constantly Leaf and his army is running away from enemies that are out to kill him because he is the last savior of his nobility that can change everything and unify Thracia. There's just a sense of actually feeling the pain that Leaf is going through step by step. It's an emotional feeling that I don't really get with many characters. 2. Ike- As I've mentioned before, FE9 Ike has the better characterization. He grows from a reckless boy from the beginning to a general and learns to take on more responsibilities after his father dies by the hand of the Black Knight. But what also makes him special are the character interactions in the base conversations. He talks to everyone no matter who they are or where they hail from. For example Jill Fizzart from Daien, when she pursues Ike and the Greil Mercs and the whole ambush of the Kilva's bandit crows. Ike is blunt but he also understands a great deal of respect whether or it's friend or foe. When Shinon betrayed the Greil Mercenaries Ike spared him because he was still part of the family as much as Shinon didn't like the fact that Ike took over. Oe even when Ike fought against Talrega, and the whole flood devastated the country and the citizens, Ike had sympathy for the people because they had no part of this war. What hasn't been said about Ike? Ike fights for his friends. 3. Elincia- Somehow, I missed the fact that Elincia counted as a lord.(Thank you Tiki for reminding me) But yes, I actually really like Elincia's characterization. As much as I don't like RD she had the best story. She is pressured by nobles and how she is unfit of being Crimea's ruler in the beginning. What makes her so great is that she really grows tremendously even from Path of Radiance. She was courteous and nice sure but she was still a princess and didn't know whether or not she'd be able to rule a country. And of course in Radiant dawn with the rebellion led by Ludvick she was really in a desperate situation. On the inside Lucia was painfully suffering that she was risking Lucia's life by keeping Ludvick prisoner. And of course for those that have played Radiant Dawn knows that Ike helps save the day at the last moment. But what Elincia says at the end where Ike asks if she's in need of his services again. She declines his offer and decides that she will do this her own way. And I think that's what makes Elincia a strong character, she's sincere and kind but becomes a stronger Queen of Crimea by the end of it. There's a reason why Part II of RD is my favorite part of the game because it revolves around Elincia and how she tries to overcome her difficulties of becoming a good ruler. 4. Eliwood/Hector- I honestly like both Eliwood and Hector. They both depend on each other when they're in need of help. And I just think both have qualities about them that I think make them great characters. On one side we have Eliwood who's compassionate and caring and all around a great guy. And while Hector is completely the opposite, he's brash and rebellious and speaks his mind when he's angry. One scene I really think made him stand out was when Eliwood and Lyn let Jaffar into the group even knowing that he killed his friends and comrades. Hector is incredibly enraged upon hearing this but instead he decides not to let his anger overtake him. He'll never forgive him for the dark deeds he did, but their goal is the same and taking out Nergal is more important. The relationship between Hector's brother Uther and Hector I also find to be especially interesting. Hector didn't have parents growing up but only an older brother. It's actually quite a complex relationship because Hector is immature and doesn't understand responsibility in the beginning. And honestly their relationship as siblings are really kind of distant. Deep down he does respect his brother but he wants to figure out his own way to deal with things. I could on and on with Hector but it will go on for far too long. 5. Ephraim- I still like Ephraim, but the more I thought about it what makes him so good is the friendship he had with Lyon. Actually the bond between Eirika, Ephraim and Lyon are what sticks out to me most. There's still things to definitely like about him. He's a caring older brother even though he doesn't show it. He's no pushover but he definitely respects his opponents and friends. He tends to be kind of a slacker with responsibilities and in the beginning he very interested in taking over his father's place as king of Renais. I recall him saying that he'd rather be a mercenary and travel the world. He's a free spirit and wants to do what he enjoys doing. It's not very often we get lords like this. 6. Marth- Whenever Fire Emblem is mentioned Marth often comes to mind. He's the iconic to series just as the slimes are to Dragon Quest or Pikachu in Pokemon. I mean heck, if not for Marth being in Smash Bros Melee nobody outside of Japan would've known what the Fire Emblem series was.(Plus all of the insane anfiction that followed pairing him with Roy and all that nonsense) I will always have a special place for Marth. In the first two games he starred in, I never felt there was much character to him. I didn't like the interpretation of Marth in FE3. He's not very distinguished or very interesting to me. I mean, he does have a bit of personality like there's scenes when you can tell he's expressive when something dramatic is happening. The character is there, but he's just a pushover. and predictable every time. The only good things were the scenes with Jeigan as his advisor. Those scenes really make Marth standout imo. However, Shadow Dragon Marth is a whole different deal. Say what you will about FE11 making you sacrifice units to obtain Gaiden Chapters. The localization team gave Marth a better characterization. He's childish, but still with an idealistic view. He wants to save everyone that he can in the war and not lose anyone. But he has to face the fact and harshness of reality that death is inevitable. But he's also has a lot of charm to him which leads to some really fun/silly conversations. 7. Celice(Seliph) I've talked about him before, but I wanted to add some stuff. I used to hate on him before but I changed my mind. He's at least far more interesting than his father. And he certainly had potential as a character, but the situation he's in is what makes him interesting. Oifey is given the duty by Sigurd's final wishes to look after his son because let's face it he's obviously not coming back ahahaha… But onto what I was saying, Jugdral becomes a serious mess after many years after the tragic events of sigurd. There's the Lopto/ Loptyr cult forcing children to undergo horrible horrible stuff. And that's where Seliph comes in as the last chosen hero. On the basis of it all, Seliph does show promise. And the conversations he had with Levin are honestly the best parts that come out of it. (Except for a few trollish filler conversations. Very funny translators I see what you did thar.) Also, I really like the secret event conversation before you fight Alvis. Even in heavens, his parents are still looking after him. 8. Lyndis- I really liked Lyn when I played FE7 for the first time. After all, FE7 did bring us Lyn's mode so you have a lot of time to spend with her. And parts of me still really does. I mean, it's not very often we get a female lord who's a tribe's plainswoman. She has pride, she's strong, and can be kind sometimes. But later down the years, I realized that I didn't like as much in certain scenes in the later half of her in FE7. She's still a good character don't get me wrong, but she came off as arrogant and rude to me. Like for no damn reason, she always tries and starts an argument with Hector. But on the other hand, they do have some very strong scenes like the secret conversation on the preparation chapter. Or the boat scene… But as far as female characters go, I think she's still good. She has the caring side of it and she's certainly friendly. The bond between Eliwood, Hector and Lyn is a good friendship which I still like. 9. Chrom- Chrom is still Chrom. I don't have a whole lot to say about him like I haven't before. He's a nice man but there' not really that much character to him except when ANGRY CHROM IS ANGRY. He really stands out there to me to be honest. 10. Sigurd- I went into a bit of a rant on Sigurd before in the past. The reasons I made still stand. He is the weakest of the FE lords for me. Sure he's not an interesting character but it is kind of nice to see an older lord in the series. And what IS did with the kind of story FE4 has was pretty ballzy of them. He's still got a pretty cool design(Gotta love dat 80's haircut) and the relationship between Cuan, Eldy is still very good. I really wish there was more focus on that but what can ya do? And there's still things to like about Sigurd. What happens to him is pretty tragic. He's the only lord that doesn't end up with a happy ending.

Cool to see your amended list, Rhys. I've recently picked FE4 back up thanks to Tiki and I finally, FINALLY conquered Chapter 2. So I am finally getting to see more of FE4. <3
I was also kind of lulzing about this topic because "Does the non-important Lords of the games still count among the list?" because hooo let me tell you, most of my list would be so amended. |D
On a side note, though, I really need to finish and beat FE7 and 6. I'm so close I can taste it. =_=;; and finish the replay file I started for FE8. ...and FE9. But I'm not that concerned about those two cause I've beaten them.
I really kind of drift from one to the other when I get in the mood like a roulette system. But for the moment, because of Teekers, I am throwing my weight into FE4 for the moment. Here's hoping I can clear Chapter 3 now~ 8D
Maybe I'll be able to give a better/amended list later once I've had time to stew on it again. <3

If they're playable in the story and classifed as a lord then it's fine. Which Non-important lords were you considering? Also, I'll keep this topic up for about maybe a week? You can redo your list if you really feel it's necessary.

Gosh, I'm terrible with names... And stuff like that. It's not that I feel it's necessary to re-do, but my list prior was kind of hasty and as said, if I could list the non-lord class lords, my list would be 100% different lol. But my list as it stands for just standard Lord-class Lords is just right.

If that was the case then Levin would've been my number one. cool But no, I don't think they would really count as a lords really... At least I don't think they do personally. I totally understand where you're coming from though. They're more in the archetypes category which we'll definitely get to later. The only reason why Queen Elinicia works is because she gets an entire chapter devoted to her. And she still is consistently in the game enough to be considered a lord. Lucinia is also an exception since her class is a lord and obviously her father is the main character in awakening. And she's very important! And I believe you were thinking of is empress Sanaki. She's the child empress of Begnion. I probably wouldn't consider her a lord either to be honest. She is playable in FE10 but for the majority of the game she's pretty much away.

Alright guys, so as I promised I decided to update the new topic since it's been a week.(Sides it's kind of been a long time already) This week is YOUR personal Top 10 favorite soundtracks of the series. You can post however you want to for this round. You can post URL links from youtube on your themes that you like, or just talk about it if you don't feel like it. The point is just to have fun with it!
It would be cool to have variety of tracks instead of focusing on the same game. But if you haven't played many of the FE games it's totally understandable. Just try not to repeats things too many times if possible.
Okay, change of plans everyone. What I said earlier actually might confuse things even more. So I'd better explain it a bit better, for this round we're going for soundtracks in the FE series that we prefer overall NOT individual tracks! I mean that would be really difficult because honestly there's so much in the series that it's very hard to pinpoint specifically. Later down the road w'll do separate music top 10's but not now.
Now with that said... LET THE FE MUSIC ROUND BEGIN!

Guess I'll go ahead and be first. So I've been thinking about it and well.. In terms of soundtracks...
1.) Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War- I absolutely love the music in FE4. Honestly, this is Yuka Tsujiyoko at her best. And I think most jugdral fans might agree with me that it really does have a really amazing soundtrack. Heck, Light and Darkness is my all time favorite theme from the series and that's really saying a lot.(And it has two versions too) The themes themselves just have sooo much variety and you feel the emotion within a dramatic scene. Like when it tries to capture you in a mood, FE4 does that in the absolute right way. For example, my absolute favorite map in Generation one is Silesia since obviously that chapter is all about Levin's characterization. It's snowing and the bells give you a sort of ominous Christmas feeling. And of course when a particular moment happens… (I won't spoil it because it's one of my favorite moments in that game period.) I was absolutely devastated when it happened. No other Fire Emblem game makes me feel like FE4 does in terms of soundtrack.
2.) Fire Emblem Thracia 776- I was really deciding between Thracia 776 and FE4 for the number one spot. But it's 2nd best for me, it's still excellent as a whole. The brass in FE5 is some of the best you'l hear. It's been so many years since I've played the game, and after hearing it again the soundtrack just has a really interesting mood with every soundtrack. Like, I mean there's even a defeat theme called "When things go wrong" It's a very fitting title let me tell you. It either plays: A. When you're about to lose the game(A.K.A Cyas troll theme) Or B. When something major happens in the game event wise. We've never ever seen that in the other Fire Emblem games at all. How awesome is that?
But I just think this soundtrack stands out a whole lot compared to the other games simpley because of the brass music. It's really crisp and clear. I actually heard Reidrick's boss theme again and I really like a lot compared to other bosses. It might even be my all time favorite boss theme in the series eh? (Shame he wasn't the final boss… I wonder how differently things would turn out… The real final boss though… I'll just stop there. "B
3.) Fire Emblem 3: Monshou no Nazo Book 1& 2-I figured since FE3 does have two games in one, I thought it would be best to keep them as one game for this spot. I really like FE3's music a lot. It holds a special place for me emotionally. Sure, I don't particularly care for the map theme Expedition and it can be a little depressing and pessimistic but when it is effective to its advantage, it really works! The Snes synth is really fantastic and memorable as a whole!
4.) Fire Emblem Path of Radiance- PoR had an excellent soundtrack. His father's son, With us!, Brave general, Brave King the list goes on. And it's actually the very first fire emblem to have a beautiful song sung in latin. Life returns is just a great song in general and especially in the area
5.) Fire Emblem 7: The Blazing Sword- FE7 is particular close to me since it was not only the first Fire Emblem game I played, but the music really still holds up really well. I always get emotional when Reminiscience or Ninian's theme plays. I just get very emotionally involved in the ending when it plays.
6.) Fire Emblem Sacred Stones- Say what you will about FE8 being easy, but it had a very good soundtrack and it wasn't even composed by Yuka Tsujiyoko! Follow Me and Ephraim's which I believe is titled Distant Road? They both still remain to be some of my favorite themes in that game. It also has a very unique Fog of War map theme which I really do like about it.
7 ) Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn- The story is definitely out of the place, but I will admit that FE10's soundtrack was fairly good. Maybe it's just me, but I don't know most of the tracks all that memorable. Or I guess it's because I haven't played it that much. I still really like Bearer of Hope, which is Part 2's defend chapter theme, Eternal Bond is also a decent map theme, but I refuse to believe that it's Ike's theme.: B The Black Knight's theme is also fun as well. Oh and the boss theme is also really cool. Aside from those, I can't say many other themes really stand out to me.
8.) Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade(Or sword of Seals)- The synth can be kind of questionable with FE6 most of the tracks sound really cool in its own way, or it just feels lesser quality in certain pieces. It's not the greatest soundtrack in the world, but it does have some really good themes. I'm probably among the few that likes FE6's fog of war theme. In many respects, it is kind of watered down compared to FE7's version of Shadow Approaches, but I really like the slow and ominous feeling of the theme. Beneath a new light is also memorable, and I think I prefer Binding Ties in FE6. It's a very goofy yet there's a sense of heroism in there.
9.) Fire Emblem Heroes of Light and Dark- FE12 is close to the bottom simply because I felt disappointed by most of the soundtracks it remade from FE3. Half of them are great. I mean, have you heard FE12's expedition's theme. It's absolutely beautiful and memorable. It feels like an expedition unlike the original which isn't exactly bad… but the problem I had with that piece is that it's incredibly grating at times and it's just not very memorable. And most of them just seemed just okay to me… FE3 just had an overall better score in my personal opinion. Oh, another track I thought stood out was the village theme in the remake, I love the strings used and the eerie silence feeling you get.
10.) Fire Emblem Awakening- Yeah, Awakening is my least favorite soundtrack in the series but I still like it fine hence why it's on my list at all. I wish there was more variety in music, I honestly feel that most of the themes in the game are really repetitive in the way they are used. And again, it's not the game's fault, it could use more map variety in general. The majority of the soundtracks are still good. Especially chapter 10's theme "Don't mock my sister's words!" Or "Don't speak her name." It's the only unique track in the whole game that uses sadness and emotion to its advantage which is very effective imo. Duty is also a great theme especially the orchestrated version.

That's right folks, I believe it's time to resurrect this one year old thread of mine. -
NO, I didn't forget about it that's unspeakabel. Okay okay you got me, I totally forgot about it. Guilty as charged, and it seems like I'm not the only one here who has either. ninja
But seriously, I thought it would be really fun to bring this thread back and continue this Top 10 thread list. I'm sure it would provide more interesting discussion and it's awesome to hear stuff from other FE fans. Now that there's another new game in the franchise, and not to mention I actually DO have more ideas for topics.
Last time I ended off with favorite soundtracks, so let's try 10 top favorite Antagonists in the series for Round 3!
