"YES, we SHOULD. I am in the basement, B04, the door with glow-in-dark stickers. Hmm, is it snowflake or letter alphabet or stars and Moon? Sorry Sherry, I forgot." Shu mused for a while before she gave up.

The shy girl scratched her face, "Not really an expert, just-just I am interested in those. I hope my meager knowledge can really help you." She answered with the action, hopped to bounce her books towards her bosom, she quickened her steps. "Me too! Let's do it, Cafeteria....is this way!" Even holding the heavy book tower, when it was about snacks, the girl was full of energy. The books bounced in her arms as she found her way into the door of her destination, thumping all the books on an empty table. "Sherry, over here~ I've found a free table" she yelled while she waved her hands enthusiastically.

"Today's Tuesday, let's see." After Sherry had taken her seat, Shu tipped toes through the crowd to check the hunters on-duty. Then, a bright smile bloomed on her face. "Oh oh I saw one of my favourites on kitchen duty, he's good at making desserts and his foods are safe without side-effects. We're lucky Sherry!" The two headed over the dessert section where the petite girl mingled with the guy to pry for recommendations. "It seems that the foods are of high quality generally. I think I'll have a slice of pizza, a salad and a brownie. How about you?"

Back to their seats with trays of foods, she took a bite of the crispy pizza before she spoke, "Yum! In Chinese myths, Nian, n-i-a-n, is a fierce creature lived under the sea or on the mountains. It was said to come out on each spring, around the time of Chinese New Year to attack people, especially children." She covered her mouth to swallow the foods. "To scare it away, people will have the Lion Dance, making loud noises by drum, plates and firecrackers and wear red clothes. Shush, that's a secret for those not knowing Chinese myths. Z would have his weaknesses targeted otherwise and that's bad." Shu kept her voice low.

Busy devoured the pizza like a little hamster, she was onto the salad. "Yup, you're right, I encountered a conquest horseman. She was wearing oriental exquisite clothes in layers, hair wore up adorned by splendid flowers, pearls and a phoenix crown alike headdress, two elongated hairpins made of gold hanging with long silk ribbons and a Pibo - a sheer thin fabric baldric wrapped around shoulders and coiled around arms to give a graceful elegant feel." She shoved the tray aside to give space to the little notebook she took out and she sketched while she described her.

"Topless, large sleeves, long skirt dress, Ruqun, band-collar, high waistline with an Obi instead of Shendai, I think it's close to the noble woman's wear in Tang Dynasty from Chinese history, so...maybe a fusion of Japanese and Chinese style. One thing I can confirm is she's in the nobility, only noble class is allowed to wear red and purple. What's more, peasant class can't afford expensive ornaments made of gold, pearl and gemstones." She made her guess, putting the pen down and gave Sherry a confident ardent smile then she realized she was too indulged in her own world.

"Oh oh I am sorry Sherry. Let's get back to how I met her. I was patrolling in the Haunted House, checking room by room. Gradually, I realized myself lost and wanted to find the entrance. In the corridor I met with her." She paused to munch the vegetables. "She said words like she would use my corpse to fish other hunters or as gift to her clan. She called me little human and she was vain, she consistently induced me to give up and asked me to admit my forthcoming death." Shu stabbed on a cherry tomato. "She confirmed she was from Conquest and each of her arrows targeted my heart. It was perilous but I escaped with the pendant. From her words, it seemed that she was sent to collect FEAR, old FEAR she said. She was very powerful and she taunted me that I'll die alone, unwanted and unloved." The fork piercing the salad in a continuous manner idly, as some dark thoughts gathered.

"It's your turn, Sherry." Shu attempted to get away from the melancholy.

“Oh! B04,” Sherry repeated, memorizing it. “It’s okay! I can’t wait to see them!” It had been a while since she’d seen glow-in-the-dark stickers, and she loved them. Such cute little things.

“Of course it will help!” Knowledge was power, after all, and Shu knew all kinds of things Sherry didn’t. Sherry couldn’t wait to trade stories and facts with her new friend. She smiled the whole way to the cafeteria.

“Great!” Sherry gratefully set her books down followed Shu. “I’m happy to hear he’s good at desserts, and no side effects is always good.” It was a relief to hear, really. “I’ll have… pizza, because that’s always a good choice, and a brownie, too. Oh! And some of this potato gratin.” It looked cheesy. “I’m glad you know a guy on staff. Sometimes the food can be…scary.” Sherry laughed a little.

She was more than happy to start eating as Shu talked. “N-i-a-n,” she repeated quietly, memorizing again. “Oh! So that’s where the Lion Dance comes from? I never knew!” Sherry quickly lowered her voice, as asked. “I’ll keep it a secret. But that is really cool.” Sherry swallowed a bite. “So are there a lot of Nian in the world?” Sherry wanted to know everything, but she didn’t know if Shu’s weapon would like questions about scaring Nians, so she didn't ask about the Dance, yet.

She also listened very intently to the Shu’s story, taking small bites of her food and nodding. “She sounds lovely,” Sherry said, leaning over to watch Shu sketch. “Interesting that they are based on such a style,” Sherry had not done a lot of research on horsemen. “I know they are the enemy, but those outfits are so pretty.” Sherry gave a wistful sigh. “Hrm. Learning about their culture could be useful though…”

Sherry smiled. “Don’t be sorry. But yes. Tell me everything.” Sherry’s eyes widened as Shu spoke. Running into a horseman in the Haunted House would have been a nightmare, Sherry was sure. “She sounds extra mean. And Fear collecting…hrm.” Sherry took another bite of potato. “Thank heaven for pendants. Or else I wouldn’t have met you.”

Sherry had another small bite of potato. “My story is not nearly as interesting. For the wine,” Sherry paused for a moment to think. “Well, my boyfriend, but he wasn’t my boyfriend at the time, heard about some powerful items and where to find them. So we went looking. It was a weird place, with a huge hill. It took forever to climb. And we had to climb it several times. The worst part was the lava pit at the top. Crossing it was super dangerous, and if we didn’t have the pendants we would have died. Jake got burned pretty bad once. But after the pit, there was a room full of statues of Greek Gods. That’s where I found the wine.”

Sherry took another bite of food. “But the more interesting place was some strange island with strange music. Jake and I,” Sherry leaned in close for effect, “turned into minipets. Lots of different kinds of minipets.” She frowned. “We didn’t find anything really interesting there, just turned into minipets. It was kind of fun. I really should go back and take better notes this time.” Sherry shook her head, realizing she was getting off track.

“But I think both of those places were Greek. Because of the Gods and the style of the buildings. After that… Well. There was an underground tomb with mummies. Lots of beetles and nasty things…but mummies, too. It was pretty scary.” Sherry blushed- she didn’t like admitting she was scared of dead things.

“I find those kinds of places fascinating. I think my favorite place was the Island where we turned into minipets. No lava, no mummies.” Sherry nodded, confirming it for herself.

Sherry looked at Shu. “Hrm. I wonder if any of these places would have something for you,” she patted the books on the table. “You wanted something to help people?”
Sherry didn't know where to find such an artifact, but maybe if they looked in a place that had nice sounding gods they would find something.

"I replaced them often, because the basement had insufficient lights." She explained before they reached the cafeteria to feed their stomachs.

The spoon stirred in mid-air in a gentle magnitude, as if casting a spell. "I dunno," her voice was vague with puffed up cheeks like hamsters, she must be hungry. "You know how weapons don't have good memories of their pasts, others might be upset or tried to recall, but Z - he would be pissed off and roar at me. I seldom ask him for that reason, sorry Sherry." She'd wanted to know more, but she had a partner didn't co-operate. "He used words like 'clan' and 'our' naturally, so I think there's at least a group of them."

Shu was super happy to have someone patient enough to hear and bothered to add her comments from time to time, thus she chirped like a singing bird. "Isn't it? I want to know more of their cultures! Not only as enemies, but also as a clan. Do they live in a palace? How's their daily life and do they spar like we do? Are their weapons sentiment as well?" She'd paused to swallow and breathe, but shortly resumed. "And - And you know our partners," she preferred that word over simply weapon, "they were once inhabitants from that world, would it be possible to have horseman partner? Are they different from those inhabitants? That conquest lady did show an attitude that she disapproved putting her clan the same level as the inhabitants...hmm...will it be like how people from eastern and western countries differ? For which has a separate system in many aspects."

Sherry made a successful step to hold the leash, deliberately or not. "Oh yup. I worked hard to run for my life. I'd be sad not able to meet you, and Mimsy, I promised I'll take good care of myself." She winked, it was clear that she had no intention to die, at least at that moment.

"WHAT ARE YOU SAYING SHERRY?" The petite girl couldn't help to wait for the girl to finish her stories, she used a kind of when puppy staring at delicious cupcakes and wanted to take a bite all the time she talked. She raised her voice and exclaimed, "it's interesting, ahhhh what a great adventure with the potential boyfriend." Shu sighed dreamily, supporting her head with both hands. "Was this adventure speed up the relationship?" She nudged Sherry like a friend teasing, like a literal shipper. "You went to take care of him like an endearing nurse?" She beamed with curiosity.

The petite Asian had her chin touching the table, "Awwww minipets, why I didn't wake up early? I heard that people get turned into kitten before I woke up why why why." She made cute sounds when a little girl being whinny. "So nice, I envy chu. BUT-" She abruptly moved her head that was rolling on the table up, "I have a cute minipet, a treat! He's cute but grumpy." Shu sounded like she was proud of her pet.

"Ugh, mummies, I bet they smell badly. It's okay, if I were you, I don't wanna see them as well." She paused and collected the silly aura back to herself for a more serious look. "Hmm huh. Something that can make me more useful as a hunter." Seem thinking of something on her own, she grabbed the books and put her chin above a small pile, consists of two to three thick books.

"Tell me something about your weapon or your boyfriend's? The non-secretive parts I mean." She gave sherry a look.

There were a lot of smiles coming from Sherry.

"Oh," she said, nodding. Sherry sometimes forgot that weapons didn't know everything. How she forgot she didn't know- her own weapon never talked about what had been before. But some information was better than none. "A group. Hm. Interesting." The Life Hunter's interest was raised. She'd have to study up on Nian, and ask Shu about other Chinese myths.

And she's have to ask Shu about Horsemen. The Death hunter clearly knew more than Sherry did. She had real experience with them. "Oh, I've never thought about that? How much training do they do? And wouldn't it be interesting if their weapons had thought?" Shu was asking very good questions, Sherry had to agree. "I've never thought about that. And really? She 'disapproved'? Hm. I could see them being totally different cultures. I saw a little bit of the Horsemen Islands before they were destroyed, I bet living apart DID have some effect on relationships." Sherry nodded in agreement. Horsemen sites always felt...Grander and bigger than Halloween. (Thought Sherry had never been much beyond the Weeping Forest.)

Another smile. "Excellent. I hope we have time for lots of talks and adventures in the future."

Speaking of adventure, there had been Sherry's story. "I...well. I think it helped me realize that I liked him." She blushed. "I think I did try act like a nurse, make sure he was okay and all that. He...well. He didn't feel the same back then." Oh, it was almost embarrassing to think about. "But that's a story for later." And not when they were in the cafeteria. Too public.

"Oh, don't worry," Sherry laughed. "So much strange stuff happens, I'm sure you'll get to experience something crazy, and fun. I missed the kittening myself. Hm." She looked at Shu.
"You know, if I can find the portal to the island where I turned into a minipet...Maybe we can go take another look around?" Sherry did kind of want to take better notes about the place.

"Minipets are great! Aww. Cute and grumpy!" Sherry liked cute and grumpy. "You'll have to show him to me!" But minis were in the labs, and they were still eating.

"They smelled horrible," Sherry was nodding again. "Oh, yes. Study. Hrm. My weapon...or Jake's. Well. I know a lot more about mine." Sherry pointed with a big, brass cuff bracelet on her wrist. "This is Armangac. She's uh, a lindwyrm. Spelled with a 'y'- she's very serious about that. In her natural form she's a great big two-legged dragon. No wings, but lots of venom." Sherry could feel Armagnac coiled up in the back of her mind, liking that she was being talked about. "She's very prideful, though I don't know if that's a racial thing, or just her."

Sherry shrugged. "I think her kind were popular in European myth. But there are lots of different dragons, so I'm not sure."

Smiling is good, Shu enjoys smiling as well as others' smiles. It was infectious so her smile was bigger as she saw it appeared on Sherry's face.

"I'd like him to tell me more, like - if pry open his mouth would work." Anyone who talked with the girl would know she loved to use similes in many situations. "Hmm, HMM! She's as proud as a peacock of her clan. That would be a fun topic to investigate, isn't it?"

"We will, I promise!"

The story between Sherry and Jake made her face turned into a dreamy expression. "Awww, I bet he felt it and like a seed, it grew in his heart." She'd stopped on that topic seeing Sherry's blush. "I think so Sherry." The suggestion gave Shu hop,e made her amber eyes shone. "I hope you find it then. No, you will find it and bring me there, that's the plan."

Yup, as cute and grumpy as Sherry's boyfriend and resembled one of the division heads. "Hmm, next time I will bring him to visit you. Just be careful because he has a really bad temper." The warning didn't seem serious when her beam was so bright and with a spoiling tone towards her little pet.

Her nose winced as if she could sniff the odour, "Like thousand years old cupboard," she commented. Hearing the name of the speices, Shu's eyes brightened up and flashed. "Yes! It's popularrrrr. Midgard serpent! Child of Loki!" Even her hands fisted through excitement, "Venom. Of course, so much venom." The fever about myths ebbed. "Z is prideful as well, he insisted me to call him Zai Tai Da Ren, ah it means Master Zai Tai. I don't feel like calling my partner like that, so I call him Z instead. He did complain about it but accepted later on." She made a smug face. "Ar-man-gac right? Nice to meet'cha." The girl politely bowed to take a closer look at the bracelet, then moved back to pull a necklace out. A pendant swung because of her movement, "This is Z, my pink hammer but he's a boy." It was of oriented design.

At the back of her head, the beast started bitching about his color. Yes. I did. Alright. The loud voice made the girl burrowed her brows.

Sherry chuckled at the image of Shu prying open a Nian’s mouth. Not knowing what they looked liked she really imagined a lot of teeth- and something vaguely lion-like. She had no doubt Shu would win, though. The girl seemed like the type who wouldn’t give up. Sherry next imagined a hardened, angry Horseman- dressed up fancy with peacock feathers. Shu had a way with words, a way Sherry liked. “It would be great fun to investigate it,” she agreed.

There were more chuckles. “Love is a strange thing,” Sherry said with a tiny sigh. She liked to think Jake had liked her back then, but at least they were friends. Not that he remembered. Which was all the more reason to go back to the island. “Ok. I will let you know if I find the portal.” Sherry made a note in her notebook, just to make sure she remembered.

“Oh! A bad temper?” Sherry asked the question with a laugh. Shu’s way of saying had made Sherry imagine something grumpy but incredibly cute.

“Yep! Just like that.” Shu’s way of describing things was incredible.

Sherry chuckled some more, perfectly at ease with her new friend. Armagnac, however, was listening very intently now. Sherry had the sensation of a snake coiling and uncoiling in her mind.

Armagnac seemed to like the reference Shu had made.

Sherry’s eyebrows rose. “Master? Prideful indeed. I like Z, though. It has a certain mystery to it.” Sherry tried to sound like that was a very good thing. “Like a secret agent, almost. But better.”

Armagnac made a rumbling noise in Sherry’s head in response to Shu’s greeting. “She says ‘Hi’.”

Close enough, Sherry replied. It means the same thing coming from you. To Shu, Sherry said, “Oh! Nice to meet you, Sir Z.” Sherry gave a little nod. “Pink’s a nice color. And Hammers can be awesome weapons.”

Sherry tilted her head. “Everything alright?”

Shu sighed after Sherry's approval, "If only I can find a friendly horseman and have a calm little talk." She watched as the Life hunter wrote on her notebook, a small smile appeared on her face for the sincerity she'd given her. "it sure is," she giggled, love is a strange thing for everyone, she believed.

A series of nods were given regarding the temper problem of her beloved little minipet, she'd described more on its cute points, like how fluffy it was, the tiny wings, a pair of charming glasses and finally the note book that he carried, what she called "Death Note" ironically. All what she talked was assisted with abundant gestures.

What a big nerd of myths, anime and games. Z would comment his dumb little partner, but mocked if she could be good at more useful knowledge in saving her a**. You hear thattttt? <Yup silly, control your adrenalin or you will overheat again. This chick has good discernment, sadly taken.> AAAAA-re you hitting on Sherry?! <Nope. Not at all. Leave it.> The dry voice commanded, mildly annoyed but didn't skip replying to the blonde's greeting. <If only you could learn from this chick.> He sighed.

"Um, nothing, just Z being too loud in my mind. He loves to roar like lions." Shu communicated with the beast to subdue him. <A fierce fearful beast's all like that.> "Hmm, Sherry, does Armagnac speak a lot?" She'd have the inquiry as to see if other weapons were that obstreperous.

Then, she began to hum a song. "Sherry, do you like music? Do you know this song -" She paused to get ready, got into the beat. "-L is for the way you look at me~ O is for the only one I see~ V is very, very extraordinary~ E is even more than anyone that you adore can~" The petite girl gave her a look to ask her to sing the next part.
