Ma-Ku nodded, a little apprehensively. She certainly believed that it would work however the female was also worried about hurting her new friend. “If we get your head wet and then try to pull it off while pulling the ribbon thingies on your collar hopefully it will come off pretty quickly?” the calico said, with a smile. She knew that Hunter’s collar must be really annoying for him with it being so tight. The female wasn’t sure how he had kept the collar on him so long. She would have tried to chew her own neck off to get her one off. “You think so? I guess they did treat me pretty nicely…for humans that is.” she said, thinking to herself. “I mean they wouldn’t allow me out of the house and the kitten human would pull my tail and stuff like that but they did feed me and stuff.” The blue-gold eyes followed Hunters paw and he raked the collar with his claw, a small bit disappointed that it didn’t work right away. “Yeah we’ll get them off today for sure!”
“I’m sure you’re really, really good though.” Ma-Ku said, her eyes lighting up. “You’re just used to comparing yourself to your brother. Just because he’s even better than you doesn’t mean that you’re not really good as well! I would love to learn how to paint. Maybe you and your brother could help teach me?” The calico beamed at the tom cats’ response. “Wow really? That’s so cool! Machines are so complicated looking. It’s amazing that you could just build them. I know that obviously some cat has to build them but it’s still amazing that you can!” Ma-Ku nodded enthusiastically at his next question, her pink, blue and grey hair bouncing as she did so. “Yeah in the dance world she’s super famous. She’s danced in all these famous places and has booked out classes and everything!” The calico cocked her head to the side before nodded again. “My parents tried to teach me lots of different things so I could find stuff I really liked. I guess it means for me I just ended up liking lots of things…”
Black and orange ears flicked with interest as Ma-Ku listened to her companion speak about the things he enjoyed doing. She couldn’t help but smile when he spoke about enjoying hunting. “Wow that’s so cool. You have so many things you like to do. We should learn archery together. It looks like a lot of fun and would be really good for hunting.” The female started and blushes when the stripy male complimented her. She had never been called pretty by a cat outside of her own family before and especially not by a male cat. She wasn’t sure how to react. “We should learn it! When I get home I can as Papa what it’s called. Papa is really good at fighting and martial arts so he would probably be able to find us a good teacher.” Ma-Ku padded over and examined the knife in Hunters paws before nodding. “That looks sharp enough to me!”

Eyeing the knife, Hunter is not sure if he can deftly cut the collar off without harming Ma-Ku because he would hate to see her in any kind of pain and it shows in his pale green eyes. "Yeah... I would think it will work that way, if not.. then we can always use this knife on my collar. Either way, it needs to come off today, just like yours." He says with a reassuring smile aimed toward her. "Well.. are you ready?" He picks up the knife in his paws and holds it up, using the wall as a support just in case he falls over because he's not dexterous in his cat form.
His eyes regards Ma-Ku warily when she mentioned that he's too used to comparing himself with his brother and he doesn't really believe her because he have seen what Demi could do, and it is really beyond his ability to paint or draw. "Mmm..." He says with a huge grin as he stares at her. "You haven't seen Demi at work. Oh.. sure! We definitely teach you. I think Demi would be a better teacher than I am because he's more knowledgeable but I definitely can teach you how to make small machines and other things like hunting." He says with a shrug as he scrapes the side of knife against the brick wall to sharpen it little bit like he have seen human people do with their pocket knives. "That just means you are one very awesome lady that will exceed beyond everyone's expectations for you. I know you definitely will do so much good things now and in future." He says with a grin. "And its always good to have many different hobbies so you won't get bored easily." He winks at her.
"Sounds like a plan to me, m'lady! Looks like we are going to be 'stuck' with each other for a very long while and I don't think I am going to complain about it." Hunter smiles at her as he bunny hops closer to her. "All righty.. let's get that annoying thing around your neck off so you don't have to hear to that bell ever again eh? I will try not to cut you. If I do, I apologize in advance." He frowns in worried manner, not sure if he should attempt the knife thing first.

Ma-Ku nodded, closing her blue and gold eyes. "Yup lets do it Hunter! I want this thing off me." The female was sure that Hunter would be careful not to hurt her but she still braced herself in case taking the collar off hurt. "Once we get mine done we can do yours next!" she said brightly, worried about the male and how tight his collar was. If it wasn't removed soon it might start to really hurt and choke him and because of the material it was made of it wouldn't just burst and fall off.
Ma-Ku smiled "I would love to see all of your work, especially your painting and handiwork!" she said brightly, her tail flicking side to side happily as she did so. "I'm looking forward to meeting your brothers. They sound like a lot of fun. My brothers are a lot of fun as well. Dio helped me learn to play the flute. He's really good at music. I'd love help with learning how to hunt though. I'm not the best and my papa is a really good hunter. I would like to impress him and show him what I know!" she beamed before blushing slightly at the tom's compliment. "That's really kind Hunter. Thank you." she replied before giggling. "Yup I hate being bored! I always want to be doing something!"
Ma-Ku nodded with a smile "Don't worry about hurting me. I know you'll be as careful as you can be. I just can't wait to no longer hear this stupid ringing around my neck!" The calicos tail flicked from side to side while she closed her eyes, her ears pricked up and listening to everything around her, making up for her lack of sight.

"Mmm.. I have several that I could show you but they aren't as great as Demi." He says with a smile as he carefully edges the knife under Ma-Ku's collar and starts to saw away at it. "Chin up, darling. We don't want this knife to touch you. But I am more into the natural and abstract kind of paintings along with still-life because it is more interesting. Demi.. He pretty much is the artist of the family." There's a shrug that could be heard in his voice as he carefully saws away at the collar, seeing it starting to give away. "Just a heads up.. Demi is a grumpy pants. He takes everything way too seriously so don't take an offense to his anti-social behavior." Hunter says in an amused voice while he presses the knife against the collar more firmly because now its halfway open.
"As for others, I will let you find that out for yourself since I already told you what Demi would be like." He says with a short laugh while his tail curls up against his back as he continues to work on Ma-Ku's collar, relieved that he haven't touched her neck at all. "Would you want to do the honors? all it takes is one firm stroke and you are completely free of that collar?" He pauses as he looks at her questioningly because this is a symbolic thing as well because that means they are letting go of their past with the humans and moving on with their families and possibly each other as well.

Ma-Ku smiled as she felt the edge of the knife sawing away at the leather of her collar. "I'm sure they're wonderful Hunter" she said happily, putting her chin up as he had asked her. "Could you draw me?" she exclaimed, realising this was a thing Hunter could actually do. She was careful in her excitement not to move her head in any way. The calico giggled as the tom spoke about his brother. "Good to know! I would be insulted by his behaviour then!"
Ma-Ku giggled with amusement, wondering what an interesting family she was going to be meeting soon. "I look forward to finding out!" she said with a smile, noticing how careful Hunter was being not to nick her with the knife. She shook her head softly, her hair bouncing in curls as she did so. "No thank you. I would prefer you did it. You saved me after all..." she said softly with a smile. She knew that she would never forget this act of kindness.

Taking in a deep breath because the collar is uncomfortably tight around his neck, Hunter's only focus right now is to relieve Ma-Ku of her discomfort first and the knife continues to saw steadily against the collar until there were a satisfying 'pop' when the knife finally broke through the collar completely and now it is just hanging around Ma-Ku's neck. "There we go!" He grins widely and looks up at her. "As for drawing you, I definitely could try drawing you but I don't think I would do you any justice like Demi would. But yes, I would definitely draw you as one of my french girls." He teases her playfully while he tugs at his tight collar.
"Just appeal to his art and ..." Hunter is not sure if he should mention that he have been noticing something about Demi. "..feminine side." He uncertainly says as he's not completely sure if he saw what he was seeing when he accidentally peeked into Demi's room one of those nights. "But I am sure he would love you like others would too!" He grins as he runs his finger up her neck to make sure he didn't nick her at all. "What are friends for after all, my dear?" He smiles at her happily.
