"Well, there's a couple, my sister's better than I am--she grew up there, but they got me actually not lookin' like an idiot. There's... lessee... mariachi, salsa, flamenco, all sorts of things I only know a dozen steps to," he admitted. "More than that I learned t'play the Spanish guitar--or at least mimic it," he said, bringing his guitar over his shoulder.
The waitress came over, interrupting him. "And how can I help you, screechies?" she asked, pad of paper in hand.
"Cinnamon rolls. Five of them. And a glass of milk," Roch ordered. "Whatcha want, Mei?" he asked Mei, a bit belatedly.

She grinned. "Well at least then you aren't completely hopeless to where you can fake it for the most part." The ghoul stifled a small laugh, not trying to be rude. Mei had just met him after all. Her eyes traveled to the guitar. "It's a lovely instrument and you play really well. It got me dancing for sure."
His ordering of five rolls was a bit surprising. The ghoul didn't know anyone who might eat that much. Maybe Alex but she hadn't seen her Zombro in a long time. "Uh, just one for me and black tea please."

They brought a tray, actually used to this, and Roch started eating quickly. He seemed to finish off three of them in a blink of an eye, but stopped, eyeing the last two. "Can I get these boxed?" he called over to the waitress.
"Sure, screechie!" she called over, looking a bit surprised. "What's wrong, you not hungry?"
"This is second breakfast," he said simply, patting his still flat stomach. "Don't want to overdo it. But yeah, uh..." he hesitated as he looked back at Mei. "It's my scythe, so thanks for the compliment," he said with a slight grin. "I'd hope by now I knew how to play decently enough."

Unlike Roch, Mei ate her one cinnamon roll slowly. Using a knife and fork to cut it. It was quite large after all. Adding a bit of sugar to her tea, she stirred it a few times. The small spoon clinking against the cup. Lifting the cup to her lips she stopped before taking a sip. "Your scythe? Interesting. I don't think I've ever seen a Reaper who's scythe was also a musical instrument."
The majority of Reapers she had come across at school had bladed weapons or familiars for those more magically inclined. "Is that a common thing among your family members or just you?" Brown eyes watched him over the rim of her tea cup curiously.

"Runs in the family," Roch said. "My dad's got a sax, Granddad's got a piano, of sorts, don't know what they had beyond that. My sister's got a violin, and my uncle... well, he had an acoustic guitar." He swung his guitar over his shoulder, letting her get a good look.
"The edge of the body is a blade, and this part coming from the headstock is a blade as well," he explained. "But it's the music that does the most damage. She needs sharpened, though," he admitted, brushing his thumb against the edge.

"That's pretty cool. To think music could be used as a weapon, I would have never thought." It was certainly something to be wary of too. In the wrong hands who knew what that kind of power could do.
Settling her tea cup back on to its saucer, she folded her hands on top of the table. "So you have questions about the school? A lot has happened in two years time as I'm sure you can imagine."

"Y'still got--" he stopped, looking at the workers before leaning forward, "hunter trouble?" he asked in a quiet tone. "Or have they stopped yet?"

The way he asked her about the Hunters seemed kind of odd. To be honest she had minimum experience with them. Only when they seemed to crash the party. "Not so much from what I can tell. I'm pretty sure they have their handful more with the Horsemen since most left Halloween town recently. There are still a few pony stragglers about but most seem to be eeking out a separate existence on their own from the clans." Of course she might be assuming too much.
But she had little interest in humans and ponies.

"Huh, well that's good, at least," he said, having had a lot more run-ins with hunters than she had. "Those ponies, they're jackin' psycho," he added, since she'd changed the subject. "Back when I was in school I was in that competition they threw? The ending still gives me nightmares," he added, frowning slightly, "and with all the stuff I went through, that ain't easy."

"Yes, I had visited their island homes before it all kind of blew up." As far as she knew that was the majority of her experience. After the whole Alice thing Mei had forgotten ever being an Initiate. And if anyone told her otherwise well, the memories just weren't there. That was the price she payed for survival.
But she couldn't be lead to believe they were all bad or crazy. What other options did they really have?
She could feel for Roch though. Everyone in Amity eventually ended up going through something traumatic. "But you persevered which says a lot about your character."

"All it says is I'm a dumbass," he admitted shamelessly. "I'm just glad it's behind me, honestly. Why don't we drop the school talk--you were going shopping, right? What for? Or is that too pers'nal?" he asks in a teasing tone.

"Well if that is how you want to look at it." She shrugged lightly before finishing off the rest of her cinnamon roll and tea.
Mei raised an eyebrow at his personal comment, using her napkin to wipe at the corner of her mouth. "Personal? As in am I going to go shopping for panties and bras? No I have enough of those." Folding the napkin and placing it on the table she grinned a bit. "Just clothes. It'll be spring time soon enough and I need some new outfits. I've uh...had a bit of a growth spurt so some of my clothes don't fit quite right anymore since the last time I went shopping."

He laughed, completely amused by her lack of reaction. "Mind if I tag along? Or have you had enough of that?" He stretched his legs out in front of him, thinking about what he would do if she said no.
He would probably have to go hunt down some old pals... he was both looking forward to that and not. He was pretty sure some of them were going to yell at him. A lot.

"If you'd like that's fine by me. I wouldn't mind the company, though you might end up bored out of your mind. Unless you're looking for a pretty new dress for yourself." She grinned at him mischievously."Yes, I can see it now. A pretty little red number with a fashionable pair of Booey Spittons. Would really make your hair and eyes pop." Smirking to herself, Mei slipped on her sweater.
"I should probably stop and pick up some things for my minis as well while I'm out."

He went still, his eyes widening as she said that, as if he'd forgotten something--and suddenly remembered. "Treble!" he said. "Jack, I can't believe I forgot about Treble! She's been in that closet for all this time--" he muttered. "Think I can go to the minipet store with you first?" he asked, looking a bit sheepish.
