As the captain shifted to knees, telegraphing a much more classic response to a uneven hold, the General braced and vanished from sight. It relinquished the hold on the tail, freeing the captain. Whatever focus Cinnabar had marshaled to try to energy drain was hers to keep, even if the target to drain was gone. Or seemingly gone, at least for a few seconds, before landing from high up in the air with a scatter of gravel a few feet away. "Good Job. Warm up complete. Now to find meat that you can actual tear into. Some small senshi or page would do? "

The captain let out her breath in a rush of air as Schörl teleported away, settling back onto her heels. What bit of energy she had managed to snatch was a glowing spot in her palm and she tossed it to the general with a casual flick of her wrist. There was no need to keep it.
"Why go small, Lovely? Its not much of a test if its easy. I have one more ability I need to explore... this should be the fun one, for as long as it lasts." Cinnabar said as her mouth pulled in a fanged smile to cover her unease. There was a reason she had saved it for last... and why she had asked Schörl to join her. The high was going to be ecstatic, but the crash was a real b***h.
Her tail curled about and Cin ran her hand down it, massaging the bruises left by Schörl's pulling through the scales as she rose to her feet in a smooth motion. Her gate hip-swinging, she joined the general and offered her arm this time, elbow extended as she dropped her tail again.
"That ******** hurt, by the way." She said, her voice light as she reached down between the curves of her chest to retrieve the starseed shaped clip and offer it to Schörl. "You should grab closer to the base next time you want to pull me around by it."
Lovely thoughts, there, of less combat-centered instances where pulling on something attached her hips would be rather enjoyable.

Schörl caught the energy ball, but tucked it away, hand moving instead to ascot to remove the starseed there. It was broken between teeth neatly, the rush mastered and contained to controlled breathing. At last, the captain's elbow was taken, even if attention was still paid to the auric energies in search of a victim. "Some must fall and some must fly, so holding hands in this dance we'll touch all the sky, and hell, and all the places in between. Pain is just another thirst to drink in that, another kind of rain. No, we'll have no use of what is easy." "If we wanted that, it surrounds us in sleeping plenty. Let's eat the sleepers. There is one...south." Schörl motioned with a quick rise of chin. "A star, even, to pull down by name. Stretch your paws; We hunt." It was no matter that the senshi was out of Cinnabar's sense range, they were within the General's. And with their relative speeds, they could pincer the poor sot if they thought to run. With a disappearance and reappearance rooves and rooves away at the edge of previous sight, the senshi's presence was plain.

The Beast stirred inside as Schörl spoke and muscles tensed as she fought it down again, the rumble in her midsection the only sign of its interest. God, she was hungry... She felt hollow and empty, like claws scraped at the walls of her insides... Sometimes it was easier to ignore than others, but at least for a few moments there would be a promise of reprieve.
"I will swallow it whole..." Cinnabar murmured as her General caught something on the edges of her senses that the captain couldn't quite reach. She was prepared for the shift in location and she stepped forward unfazed, releasing the hand in her arm for a little bit of space. This was the tricky part...
Concentration was required for what she was attempting and Cin closed her eyes, reaching out to that dark power... and a portal to the rift opened before her, dumping out something with too many eyes and coarse, wooly fur. Her eyes flashed open as it took one look at her and shrieked in terror, making a break for it in the opposite direction of the two officers. A curse fell hot from the captain's lips as she dived for the youma, tackling the dog-sized feral to ground as her youma stirred fully awake. Baal snarled with hunger as she pinned her prey, ignoring its grating cries. There was no way for her to know how much of the youma showed in her face at that moment, but her voice was thick with it.
"Mark time, General, if you would?" She rasped, her focus entirely on the squirming mass she held. It was hard to say if she'd be aware of the passage of time while doing this... she certainly hadn't cared last time. Maybe all she needed as to exert a little more willpower on focus, but that was what this was to test, after all...
Unable to hold back, her mouth heavy with saliva, Cinnabar darted forward like an animal and sank her new fangs into the feral youma she held. It pulled a scream from it before it lost its ability to make noise and dissolved into an oily, black cloud. The half youma... breathed? drank? in the rolling mass, feeling it fill some empty place inside of her and ease the ache of her eternal hunger. When the last of it disappeared into her mouth, she gasped and her eyes flew wide, pupils shrunk to near non-existent slits. Power surged through her like electricity and she shuddered thickly. Oh, this delicious slip of sensation... she loved and hated it at the same time. She felt wild, powerful, ecstatic... and a few hairs shy of completely losing control.
Get it together... Baal crouched in her mind, watching her with his pale eyes for weakness, for an opportunity...
"Shall we?" Cinnabar said as she rocked back up onto her feet in a smooth motion. This was a little easier... with nothing to focus on last time, laying in a puddle on the floor had been all she could manage, but the hunt... the possibility of blood... it gave her energy, sharpened her instincts. Turning on her heel, the half-youma focused on the power signature she could feel now and she took off across the rooftop, circling around to one side to leave the other open for Schörl. Her pace was faster than she had expected, but with this dark, seductive power she'd swallowed, she was not as surprised as she might have been.
What else has improved, I wonder?

Schörl marked the time mentally with a fast glance at the timepiece. After that it was action, taking to the open side rapidly. The trick of hunting the meekest pray is confirming them in sight before they have a chance to dark down a rabbit hole or to drop their uniform. If they think that far ahead in their self preservation. This one, thankfully, hadn't. Little white bodice shone in the dim, darting out from the shadows of awnings and looking wild around themselves to try to confirm the signatures on top of them. They were one of the lucky ones who ended up in shorts rather than skirts. Pale greys and lime dominated their stars and bows. No wings, but they were a senshi without doubt. The general chose a quick path that lead down and near and visible. Drive you neatly into waiting jaws. The senshi made a noise, it wasn't words, just a yalp of distress as they skidded and scrambled against momentum to reverse from the sudden General in view. Words finally escaped the poor sot, " Get away!" Ha, do you mean me, themselves? The captain you feel feel but don't yet see? Don't worry, you'll find everything in the dark. Try to 'go to tree', and see what good it does you. The senshi started a jump path back up, right along the awning and windowsils up to the rooves Cinnabar was already shooting along.

The captain focused not on directly attacking the senshi they had found, but rather, on finding a good place to set herself and wait... The motion of Schörl's aura only confirmed her trust that the other woman would drive the prey towards her. All she had to do was hold up her end of it.
The larger aura was a boon... it should serve as a worthy distraction from her own.
Red and black boots beat a quick rhythm against the gravel of the rooftops, the dark, looming shapes of stair wells and chimneys giving just enough cover and a handful of places to hide. Cinnabar scanned them with a quick glance, choosing something roughly her size to disguise her silhouette. There... Some industrial monstrosity with grates, fans and tubing. It felt cold against her back even through her scales as she set herself behind it, her eyes half-closed to better focus on the shifting auras.
Someone was shouting and she knew it was their prey. She knew Schörl's voice too well... and the aura was getting closer. The captain waited, tensed, and her tail flickered behind her, her senses on high alert. Cinnabar heard the foot steps running towards her before she saw anything and with a smooth motion, she slid out of her hiding spot and launched herself at the senshi, noting the white bodice a second before she hit them hard with her claws extended.

Schörl followed up up the building with considerably less effort expended, then outright laughed as the senshi was blasted, toppling over and over with openings of red and a growling fury to contend with. The general checked timepiece again, walking with gait casual enough to belie the rest of the rooftop violence. "If you make it three minutes, you might have something worth more while than the battlefield, luv." There was more telltale shouting from the senshi. Probably summoning their magic to bear on Cinnabar, which was still useful to see if the effects of the consumption were interrupted on taking a hit by enemy magic.

She heard the laughter as they rolled across the rooftop, splitting apart as Cinnabar found her feet under her with the ease of long practice and a new, powerful grace. Her lips split open in a fanged smile and she let out her own bark of laughter as the senshi scrambled for magic in a desperate bid for something, anything to save themselves with.
The captain threw her arms up over her face as the beam of magic hit her, scraping shallow grooves from her boots as it shoved her back a scant few inches. Despite the steam rising from her leathers afterwards, she was still smiling as she lowered her arms and there was hardly a singe to be seen.
"Run, little senshi b***h." She crooned, her tail lashing excitedly. "You've got to the count of ten and if I catch you again, I'm going to eat you."
What did it matter how far or how fast this one ran? It was going to end the same. All that really counted as how much fun Cinnabar had before she claimed her reward. Granted, Schörl might not care for her lax handling of this prey, but then again... She liked games too. A little cat-and-mouse.

For all intents and purposes, the senshi did start a run for it. They'd plainly had some sort of exposure to wildlife facts as either a child, or volunteer work at a zoo, because they zigzagged on pivots rather than a straight away like they were trying to avoid a crocodile. A good ploy, considering. It would help even the odds even a fraction against someone higher ranked, to force a pursuer to have to keep guessing when the pivot came and then reacting to that. A normal pursuer, and not the tailed wonder we have here. Schörl had more than one rank on the prey, though, and easily shifted around or jumped to hem in a 2x2 perimeter of rooves. Each time the senshi balked and turned, scrabbling for another direction than one that came in contact with a general before and a captain behind. Play can be play, but a free-for-all of letting this morsel roam is no good. It's too easy to let them get into a building, and then if they power down its too easy to lose them. We're not losing this one at the end. "Taking a hit doesn't effect you Sinner, what about giving them? Blows thrown or simple time." Schörl called over.

The monster inside of her smile with her mouth and Cinnabar counted out loudly as the senshi began to run.
"One... Two... Three..." She called, until the senshi cut right and disappeared. Sliding to her feet, Cinnabar stretched lazily, ticking off the counting in her head to tease her youma more than to give the senshi a proper head start.
Run, little morsel.
Abruptly, Cin turned on her heel and took off, ignoring the straight chase of her prey in favor of circling around to get ahead of them. She was not some dog with a chicken, to snap at its tail feathers... She would let the senshi deliver themselves into her claws at the end.
Schörl automatically took up flanking, herding the senshi back around when they strayed too far. She had been nothing but accommodating tonight... indulging every request and adding to it. The small thoughts that snuck through the excitement of the chase warmed Cin, but there was confusion in it too. Why? No one was ever accommodating unless she came off threatening first... but she didn't want to read into it. It didn't matter, in the end. They simply worked well together.
The half youma lost track of her mental time as she toyed with the senshi, forcing pivots before they were ready, startling them by coming up where they didn't expect her. She finally heard Schörl call to her and she broke from cover, coming for her opponent with claws out. The struggle was relatively short, blows thrown inexpertly that were simply batted aside and returned. Blood ran red, and once, there was the clear sound of bone snapping as Cinnabar twisted the thin little arm, a clean blow breaking straight through the paired radius and ulna. The scream of pain sounded, but she cut it short with a hand around the throat.
"No worries, Schörl..." She purred as she lifted upwards, forcing the senshi onto their toes. "Its all a never ending stream of power, until... I hit the wall..."
A nauseous feeling she had noticed a few moments ago was growing, twisting her gut. Her lips twisted in a snarling, sour expression and she tightened her grip around the thin throat, desperate to keep hold through what she knew was ********, Cin shoved her and her captive towards the door of a stairwell, slamming the body into the wall beside it so she was between them and escape. The pain was swelling up her chest now, clawing at her throat. A heave signaled the end and the captain doubled as she began to shake, hunching as though to bring up what little she had eaten recently. Instead, that same black, liquid cloud poured from her mouth, rolling to the floor in a thick mass. Her hand tightened spasmodically around throat, but she came short of actually crushing anything as she expelled what she had taken in.
In moments, the mass had condensed and taken on form, blooming with color back into the thing she had summoned from the rift. Cinnabar glared at the youma and it made a sharp squealing noise before it disappeared back where it had come from, only slightly the worse for being absorbed. She ran the back of her hand over her mouth in disgust, feeling exhausted and shakey.
Enough. This game was over, and before the senshi could make so much as a concentrated struggle against her hold, Cinnabar had shoved her free hand into their chest and brought it out again, starseed floating serenely between her curled fingers.
"Time, Schörl?" She said over her shoulder as she dropped the body, her voice raspy and rough.Ivynian wrapped up the chase, let me know if you need changes <3

The General made the paces between their locations while answering, "Ten minutes. More than most fights last by far, considering. A round in the UFC is only five. Even this one didn't really last three. " The subsequent once over confirmed some things in muscle fatigue. "The important part will be making sure you have a partner or partners that can get you off the field. Speaking of, we should do so with you. But you should do something about your bauble first. Unless you're going to stay in Dark Kingdom space instead of the Rift Space. You're in no condition for growling matches with other youma interested in snacky morsels. " "Can you walk? Teleport?...Curious as much how long the afterburn lasts. Anyone could have their way with you." The last was drawn out on a smile.

Thick hands rubbed against her hips as though to wipe off residue from the senshi, the starseed held loosely in her fingers.
"Ten minutes... roughly the same as last time, I think. I wasn't timing it then." Cinnabar said as she stretched, arching her back to pop her spine. She flexed her arms as she tested her functions, curling her fists towards her face before she pressed her elbows out and back, bunching muscles down the backs of her shoulders.
A partner to get her off the field... She smiled at that, shaking out her arms. Her fingers rolled the seed as she thought for a moment.
"I have a room I've claimed in the Citadel." Cinnabar said absently. "Its even more of a s**t hole than my old apartment right now, but I plan to fix that... You could help me decorate, if you'd enjoy that." There would be no more training today... she could feel when she neared her limits. She could probably push a little further, but she didn't really care to force the general to carry her home.
The half youma laughed finally as she stepped away from the corpse and the stairway, her steps firm and steady, even with her fatigue. As she stepped close, she raised her hand and offered the starseed on her palm to Schörl, a glint of fangs in her own smile.
"Anyone could try." She said with a low, throaty chuckle.

Rather than just taking the starseed, the general took the captain's hole hand. The starseed sat cradled between, safety relative given its ultimate storage and fate. "Rest first, and cleanliness. Then the rest can be seen to. There's no reason to live like you're camping. You're an officer. " There's a panache to that which should be observed at least minimally. Hierarchy has more to do than with raw internal power. I can help with that. The time for couches picked up off the sidewalk is passed. Efficiency is not required to be consignment. "Decoration and living supply." And with that, they vanished away to Dark Kingdom space.
