He frowned at her voice, not friendly at all. Than again he didn't expect anything friendly from the girl. After all she had just met him and was already getting him to carry her stuff, which she had him doing before she even gave him her name. He wondered about her parents and how she was raised, it must have been very differently than his upbringing. At her mentioning at the worms having psychic powers he wrinkled his nose. He had wanted to garden somewhere at the camp, he still had to ask if he could, but if the worms had powers... Well maybe it wasn't the best idea. What if while he was digging he ran into one of them? What if by disturbing their slumber he made them mad and they attacked? No maybe he wouldn't plant anything.

As she talked he walked, soaking in every kind of information that she was giving him. He had done some research, but after finding a lot of fake stuff he had kind of given up. It seemed that she hadn't done the same.

Arrowheads? He looked around. He wondered where they were. Were they deep in the ground, or just laying around? "But... If it makes people stronger than won't more people.. You know... Explode?" did people even explode? He still wasn't all that sure about that part, but she seem to think it would happen.

"Oh probably." Aide smiled widely at the thought. The idea didn't bother her, firstly because she was pretty sure that wouldn't happen, and secondly because she was certain it wouldn't happen to her. She was confident she knew everything she needed to be able to control her abilities perfectly, and that anything they tried to teach her would be child's play. "But that's why we have to learn to use them properly. That's why we've got teachers and stuff." She considered pointing out that by we, she meant you, but decided against it magnanimously. Anyway, she still needed help moving her stuff in, and it would be no good if he ended up turning tail and running before they were done.

Hefting up Yog's cage, she continued down the path, glancing over her shoulder at Zajac to make sure he was still following. "If you feel like you got a real bad headache though, you should probably go speak to the nurse. Just in case."

She was right there. The teachers most likely were strong enough to keep all of the children in the camp contained. Plus it wasn't like they would let a lot of dangerous kids running around causing mayhem and blowing things up. Right? He was pretty sure his parents wouldn't have sent him to the camp if it was dangerous. "What kind of things do you think they'll teach us...?" he asked slowly. Her comment about going to the nurse made her seem a little nicer. At least he thought she was saying it to be nice and not to scare him.

As the neared the cabin they had been heading to he was pretty sure that it said 'Willow Cabin' on it. His had said Oak, which meant this was the girls cabins. At least that was what he thought, and hoped, it meant.

"Oh all kinds of stuff." Aide thought back to the stories she had read. "Flying and shooting little imaginary bullets and being able to lift things with our minds--huff!" With a small puff, she put Yog's cage down in the grass beside the cabin. What had felt light as air as she lifted it out of the car, now felt like a box of lead. "Maybe this is the one." Looking over at the boy she couldn't help but let a little contempt creep into her voice. "What do you want to learn to do with your powers? I bet you don't want to use them for anything cool."

He was pretty sure that her definition of cool and his were way different. "... Maybe." he muttered as he put her things down softly. Looking around he still didn't see anyone around that could push them in the right direction. He would let her go into the cabin to check. There was no way he was going right into a cabin that wasn't his. There could be people in there!

"I read something about..." oh what was it called again. "Um... Shielding? That seemed cool..." anything that would keep him safe was good in his book. "Or being invivisable." he realized that she most likely wouldn't think either of those things were cool and stopped talking. No need to give her something to pick on him about.

Sheilds and being invisible. Of course. Aide didn't reply to the boy's suggestions, simply rolling her eyes in a clear display of exactly what she thought of them. Giving a large sigh, she went to lift Yog's cage then hesitated. "I'm just gonna go check and see if my name's in here. Watch her for me, ok Um?" Not waiting for a reply, she jogged into the building and was out in a flash, looking smug. "I got a top bunk! Sweet!"

The roll of her eyes showed him that maybe he should have picked something cooler to tell her... But that wasn't him, those were the things that he wanted to learn the most. Sure some of the crazier things did seem like fun, but he wasn't sure they were for him...

She said she was going to check, and before he could say anything she was off. He waited patiently, though he didn't have to wait long for she was back confirming that it was indeed her cabin, and that she had a top bunk. Personally he wouldn't have liked one of those, but she did seem like a top bunk kind of girl.

"Is... Is anyone in there?" he asked looking around again. He wasn't going to help bring her stuff in if there were people inside. Or at least he didn't want to.

"Nu uh, first one here." Aide had seen some signs of life in the cabin, bags left on beds, but if she set her stuff up, then technically she'd be first, right? "C'mon Um, check it out! I bet it's bigger inside than yours. And full of cooooties." Waggling her eyebrows up and down, Aide was never a girl to be shy around girls, and had, when younger, chased them around the playground screaming about how if she touched them, they'd get sick and die. Of course she was way to old and mature for that now, but she still enjoyed teasing boys who had started to become conscious about the differences between them and their longer haired peers. Picking up the snake cage one last time, she stomped in, then stuck a foot out to hold the door open for Zajac. Willing or not, she assumed he would be following after her. And now it would be rude of him not to.

He nodded. Okay that was good. Still maybe he should just slowly disappear, becoming invisible seemed more and more handy that second. Than she spoke again, and all thought of escape was gone. He frowned at her. "Cooties aren't real." he said with a shake of his head, this was the first thing he said with confidence but it was something he knew as a fact. Growing up with all girls he would have died from cooties a long time ago if they were real. He was also sure that all of the cabins were the same size, but he wasn't going to say anything about it. Maybe the girls cabin was bigger.

As she stood holding the door he sighed and grabbed the stuff of hers he had been carrying. Walking into the cabin he looked around, walking ever so slowly to make sure she hadn't been lying about no other girls being there. Once his eyes confirmed it was indeed empty he looked around for the bunk with Aide's name on it, putting her stuff by the bed. He looked around. No it seemed to be the same size as his.

"Um... Do you know any other kids... You know kids like us?" he asked curiously. He wasn't sure how common of a thing this was in America and had never heard of it back at home.

With a final small huff of exhaustion, Aide placed Yog's cage down on the bed, which sagged a little under it. Turning back to the boy who's name had been firmly fixed in her head as Um, she leaned against the side of the bed and fixed him with a steady gaze. "What d'you mean kids like us? I'm not like you at all." Was this little shrimp trying to get on her good side? She toned down the level of intensity of the Stare of Doom and gave a grin.

"Though it would be pretty weird if I was. Huh? Huh? I bet we wouldn't even know each other's names yet, still standing in your cabin muttering at our shoes. But I bet you're good at like, math and writing and stuff like that. We could work together in whatever lessons they have us doing, I could take care of the scaaary stuff and you could do all the ... uhh ...." Aide squinted at the ceiling then the floor, tapping her chin. It was a bit of an over exaggeration, but she couldn't help herself. "All the other bits."

Okay so that wasn't what he meant. That wasn't what he meant at all. He just meant other people with abilities. He was well aware that the two of them were nothing alike. However even though she had misinterpreted what he said, she seemed to like it. Sure she still looked scary, but her grin was somewhat less frightening? Maybe he was imagining it.

She continued talking, and he blushed as what she said was true. Although he hoped that there were people like him, he knew that it would be hard to make friends like that. Who would talk first? Neither of them most likely. With Aide it was easier. For the most part she talked, and he answered. Not hard. He wasn't all that good at math, but he was good at writing and learning other things. Maybe working with her wasn't a horrible idea. Sure she terrified him, but that meant that she would maybe terrify other people as well. Plus she was warming up to him. At least he thought she was.

"Okay..." he said looking around at the bunks. Some of them seemed to have people's things, which made him nervous, but he had more pressing matters. "Um... What kind of scary... What kind of scary things do you think they will have us... You know... Doing?" Everything was scary to him, but the fact that she called it scary stuff worried him.

That was exactly what I was thinking! We are almost there anyways.

Picking up the bag Zajac had dropped at the bottom of her bed, she stood up and hauled, flinging it up in a wide arc so that it landed on the top bunk above her with a thud. Aide paused for a moment, being pretty sure her mom hadn't packed anything fragile in it, but taking a second to apologize anyway to anything she had just inadvertently crushed.

Taking a step back, she turned again to the boy as he finished talking. "Oh y'know, they'll suck us into their brains and stuff. Haven't you read any True Psychic Tales? They talk about all that stuff in there. Here." Scrambling up the ladder, she disappeared from Zajac's sight and a moment later tossed a thin paper-back comic issue at him. "Number 46 - it's about some boy who discovers he can talk to fossils and they send him to a secret government camp where he learns he's a psychic."

Zajac watched as the bag flew towards the bed, worried until it landed and nothing sounded like it was shattering. That was a good sign, a good sign indeed.

He knew they went into their teachers brains, but he didn't think it would be scary? He imagined nice brains... But she was most likely right. And this True Psychic Tales seemed like something that he needed to get his hands on. As she scrambled up the ladder he stood rooted in his spot, knowing this was his chance to run but the need to run being much less than it had been when the two of them first met.

All of a sudden a comic book was flying towards him, smacking him right in his face before he grabbed at it with his hands. He looked it over as she talked. "Can I... Can I borrow this? I promise I'll take good care of it!" he said the last part quickly. He really was careful with things, and this seemed interesting. He had never been big into comic books, but maybe this was a time for change.

Jumping down off her bed to land heavily infront of the boy, she folded her arms. "'Course you will, or I'll let Yog loose in your cabin at night." It wasn't said with any malice, just a calm statement of how exactly she would extract revenge on anyone who damaged her property. "Anyway, I bet for you anything where we gotta attack stuff would be scary right? But how else are we gonna learn to use all our kickass superpowers? It's gonna happen sooner or later." Turning around, she hefted her smaller bag onto the upper bunk, where it landed lightly in comparison to the heavy duffle bag full of clothes and supplies. "And you might as well start getting yourself ready for it now. I dunno about you, but I want to get good at using what I got. And I'm gonna kick everyone's butts, and I'm gonna become a psychonaut."

Well if he was going to be careful with the comic before, now he was going to be extra careful. There was no way that he was getting anywhere close to Yog.

Clutching the comic to his chest Zajac listened to her, giving her his full attention. He didn't want her to be right, but she seemed to be. At least she seemed to think she was right. He wanted to be good to, but not to kick peoples butts or even become a psychonaut, that seemed like too much for him. "Um... So it's a deal... I help with the boring stuff and... Well... You help with the scary stuff?" he felt by just being around her he was already getting a little taste of scary stuff.
