"Um, well. I can really only say through gossip and speculation. It's second hand information." And he didn't feel it fair to say by here-say.
He gave a guilty chuckle, rubbing his neck. "It can be? It depends on how much you contribute and prove yourself. I've seen people who get promoted after only a few months." He'd only been on one real mission. A handful of spars. He'd not given much to the cause.
"I think maybe I've been taking it way too easy." He smiled and laughed again.

"Oh. Fair enough." Harley nodded, accepting his answer and liking it enough to let it go which, after the drilling he went through not too long ago, was probably a small blessing.
"Well, everyone has their own pace and stuff, right?" The girl stretched out, flopping backwards onto his bed to stare at the ceiling. "I guess as long as you're still alive, you're doing something right." She scratched her face, and then let her arms fall where they may.
"So what do you do for fun?"

"Well, being alive doesn't necessarily equate to success here." He gave a laugh. It was easy to stay alive when you didn't do anything risky. Or at all.
"Fun? Besides adding pretty faces to my headboard?" He gave a cheeky smile, "I guess reading my mangas. Or creating spontaneous dance musicals in the cafeteria?"

"No? Then what does?" He had her attention again, and she hoisted herself to sit upright, staring at him with big blue eyes. If being alive wasn't an indication, then...?
"...I didn't notice any spontaneous dance musicals in the cafeteria!" Harley whined, picking up his pillow to throw it at him in an effort to show just how displeased she was by this turn of event. Not that most people liked spontaneously dancing with newly hatched strangers, but hey. They were bros. She had a pair of his shutter shades. Clearly she was above that rule.
"I demand a spontaneous dance party at some point. Not now 'cause that's not spontaneous, but eventually. Deal?"

He laughed, waving his hand. "Really, it's nothing. Forget it." Being alive was a matter of luck. Not skill. He didn't really want to make that point clear to her yet. It was too soon.
He was hit with the pillow, grabbing it as it fell. In return, he tossed it at her face.
Dylon sat up straight, and laid a palm over his heart. "I promise to surprise you with a spontaneous dance musical. No texts, no warnings. I swear you will be caught unawares!"

Harley leveled a suspicious stare at Dylon, but quickly dropped it in favour of a smile. "Well, fine, but when you figure it out let me know? I kinda want to succeed." Anything less than that was unacceptable.
What she hadn't been expecting was the returned fire, and she caught the pillow with her face and a rather unlady like GACK. After a little flail she settled back down, legs crossed and holding the pillow against her chest. "Thank you, a little sudden break from routine is all a girl needs, yanno?" She laughed, because sometimes she didn't quite believe that; but hey, who couldn't handle a sudden dance party?
"Do you have any spontaneous demands of me?" It was only fair, right?

"Will do. I'll poke a few leprechauns to ask them their secrets." Because honestly he wasn't sure what to do about it. "Maybe just take on missions as they come. As many as you can. Makes you look productive and active." He gave her a considering look, leaning his head back onto the edge of the bed. "Spontaneous make outs?" He grinned mischievously. "You asked!"

"And report back?" Harley said hopefully; after all, it would be a shame for him to find out and not tell her, because as far as she was concerned, she was the only one who wanted to know in the first place. "But that sounds fair, I'll keep that in mind, thanks." Her gaze unfocused for a moment as her mind wandered, but it was brought back by the movement near her, causing her to look down to a mischievous grin. "You're awful!" She gave him a look, then drifted her eyes to the side as if briefly considering her next move. Then, suddenly:
"Okay." She agreed, while slamming the pillow into his face again. "But just once and that's it!"

"Yes. And report back." He said this as if he knew any better. He didn't.
Her scolding did little to deter him. He batted what little lashes he had, playing innocent. He gasped as she agreed, but said gasp was promptly snuffed out by a pillow to the face.
"Once is all I need to get you hooked!" Came a muffled reply. He pulled the pillow off soon after, still grinning like a fool. "I'm like a Lay's potato chip."

The pillow was removed, but soon Harley's hands were in his face, playfully pushing him away for being a dork.
"Whatever chip boy, I bet you're overselling!" She laughed out, shaking her head. "Are you always this open with strangers?" Said the one who had little respect for personal space.

Dylon kept smiling, despite a hand on his face.
"Why, yes! I am! So very very open! My heart and mind is a public library!"
And maybe also his body.
"So hey, do you like music?"

"I have a feeling your public library had a very expansive erotica section." Harley joked with a light laugh, waving her hand near her face, fanning herself. "Good gracious~" She giggled out, before letting her hand fall onto her lap.
"Music? I like music. But how do you mean? Like, playing, listening...?"

To that, Dylon simply smiled smugly once more, waggling his brows for good measure.
"Listening." He clarified. "What kind of music do you like? I'm thinking of investing in a runic stereo for my room. I miss having music on hand."

Harley had nothing else to throw on him, so she lifted her foot to press against his head. That's what adults did.
"I like anything with a beat to it!" The redhead announced, raising her hand in the air as if being called on in class. "If you runic a stereo you probably won't get rid of me, you know that right?" She was good at weaselling her way into things, and apparently she was firmly situating herself in Dylon's life, even with the threat of spontaneous make-outs.

His head tilted to the weight of her foot. He gave her a pout, though it was hardly convincing. In fact it really wasn't.
"Like dance and stuff? I love dance music." Her promise just had him laughing at her, not yet knowing what it really meant not being able to get rid of Harley Kiddo. "Is that supposed to scare me?"
