Neska looked from one to the other... "Neska's fine..." She said with a wrinkled name."Why give a nickname that's longer than my name? Sillies!" She cocked her head slightly as they kept on using foreign words.. brother, uncle, boy... "What's a boy?" Was this an earthling thing? Had they met earthlings? "Are they different types of sisters?" Neska, having lived all her short life sheltered here on the Isles, had not heard too much about the outside world. She's heard earthlings had something called men... but had always figured it to be some sort of animal they raise as food or something. Something you didn't find in the jungle at least! She walked with them down to the shore line, her eyes looking for things on the beach to take back with her. Maybe a few shells too.. aunty does like making jewelry so maybe she'll make some for me? "Don't crab things pinch?" She asked nervously when she spotted a beach crab scuttling along, one huge pincer waving in the air. She disliked all things painful.... and that looked painful.

Zahra gave a little grin, "Because it's fun of course, Nesky! To see what sorts of nicknames we can figure out for any given name." She nodded her head, enjoying the game that went along with figuring out multiple nicknames for one person, "Sometimes we will reuse one more often then another if it's a good one, like for Joweese it Jojo or Jowe, but I will come up with others on the fly too like Jowejo, Jojowe, and the like." "Eh? You don't know?" She asked in a curious manner, then gave a little giggle, "Oh that's easy. If you look at Uncle Yahoho and Momma you can see the differences easily." She leaned in to whisper so that only Neska and Jowe could hear, "I think it comes down to Aisha, sometimes she forgets and POOF there are those who don't get any boobs!" She sounded as though it were the worst atrocity that could happen. She was hoping to be nice and bouncy one day, that was her dream at least, one she'd pray to Aisha for. "Hrm?" Her thoughts disrupted she had tot hink about the question, then nodded, "Oh yeah, super sized pinchers that are quite painful! It's why we need to catch them off guard or pin them with a stick." She said, then turned to look at her twin, "We should finds some sticks if we are gonna catch shellfish." She then added, as though to warn both the other girls, "They seem to have no sense of humor so we will have to be careful not to let them grab us."

"Yeah! If you saw our uncle Yaho, you'd see he was way different than we are!" Joweese chirped, nodding affirmatively along with her sister. Not that it mattered, the differences, Yaho and their cousins were just as much an Alkidike as her mother and sister were, she loved them the same. Even if they'd never get jigglies like mommy and they would, they were still pretty and strong! That's all the mattered.
She grinned as they approached the beach, the breeze from the ocean air waving through like a welcoming call. There would be plenty of things to catch and gather out here, they just needed to figure out a way to get all of it! She paused and turned back to Zahra and Neska as they commented on the crabs and tilted her head.
"Couldn't we step on 'em?" She asked, tapping her foot against the sand. "That'll break their shells and it'll be easier to pick them up!"

Neska stood silently as she thought on this new tidbit of information. How strange! Why'd they have these.... boys? Were they needed somehow? Did they do something women couldn't? If so... how come the Alkidikes didn't have them? This.... uncle person must be some mixed blood as Neska knew that alkidikes were women. How did those types look? Weren't they really weird? She paused in her thoughts and looked at the rambunctious twins; well... considering these two... they were probably normal, she thought to herself. "Jojo is a nice one.... I'll stick to calling you Jojo and Zahra." She gave a small nod. Those were cute names. Easy to remember. How many names did they call each other by? It seemed so random... these two must have more air in them than earth, she thought with amusement. She'd read some of the older scrolls in her grandmothers house and the last one had been on elements; a fun topic. She wrinkled hr nose again; "If you step on them I bet it'll pinch your toes off!" She curled her toes at the thought. "I'll... stick to the non pinching ones...." It was hard to not be happy around these two; hard to keep to her usual quiet self. She headed for the water, wanting to feel the waves splashing over her feet, the wet sand between her toes making her giggle as she reached the surf.

Zahra tilted her head to one side, her antennae twitching out of sync of each other as she considered her sister's idea for a moment then shook his head, "Yeah, what Nessie said, they might go for our feet and I don't know about you but I like my toes!" She held up a foot, giving her toes a little wiggle as though to show how cute her feet were before she continued to walk as normal again, "I think if we are going to get shell fish that maybe we should get a bucket or bag first. That way we can pin them with sticks then shove them into the bag! Or would a bucket work better so they couldn't pinch their way out?"
She thought on it a moment more then looked over at Neska, "Mmm, she could be right, maybe for now we can stick to normal, less pinchy ones, then come back for tasty shellfish when we have the right equipment for it?" She didn't want to risk hurting any part of her beautiful self because they weren't ready for the duel to the death against the grouchy shellfish.
"Normal fish then!" She said, nodding before trotting forward toward the edge of the water, looking up and down the beach, hoping they would be lucky enough to spot a tide pool that they could more easily scoop food out of.

Joweese considered the arguments against stomping the crabs and eventually nodded. Yeah, she'd like to keep her toes! How would she walk without them? She scrunched her toes up, trying to get them to vanish as much as possible under the sand, and waddled forward. Mmm, not easily? The sand seemed to suck you right in when you were toe-less! The youngling let out a puff of air and nodded again, as if affirming the point to herself, and skipped to join her sister and Neska at the shoreline.
"Normal fish is just as good as a bucket of crabs!" She agreed, kneeling down to inspect the water as it came splashing forward. Water was interesting, wasn't it? It was clear, but colored, light in your hand, but really heavy if you put in a jug. How did Aisha create something so hot and cold like that? Her lips puckered forward and relaxed, before she turned her gaze up to Neska and Zahra again.
"Maybe we have to swim to get the fish?" She said, her brows furrowing. "I don't think fishies like the shore, that's where all the people are."

Neska giggled; "There's things in the sand! Momma showed me where to find them!" She wandered out until the water was up to her knees and she culd feel the pull of the tides. It was still weak, but if she went further, Neska was afraid it'd pull her out to sea! So she kept closer to the shore. "We don't need to swim at all." These two really liked to do the more dangerous things didn't they? She had a feeling Jojo was worse than Zahra.
"Did you know there's grass under the sea?" She asked, with a chipper grin on her face as she looked at the twins. "You can find fish there! It's probably...." She looked around, trying to find the green stain that would indicate it; something easy to spot in the clear waters about Chible. "There!"
As she walked towards there, sinking slightly and wavering as she walked int he soft sand that gave beneath her feet, something went skittering by her. She squeaked as the small crab scuttled away... directly towards the twins. "Small crab! That one doesn't look like it'll pinch." She called to them.

Zahra looked across the water for a thoughtful moment, "Swim for fish?" She mused, not sure what she thought about it. Yes, the fish would be in the water, but what if they ran into a big fish and it decided that it wanted to drag them under the water. She rested her hands on her hips, a thoughtful look on her face, before said, "I don't know, what if a sea monster shows up and decides that it wants to try to eat us? I bet we look pretty tasty to sea monsters just like fish look tasty to us. I'd rather not have our next nicknames be 'fish bait'." Something she couldn't help but giggle over.
Turning to look over at Neska she tilted her head to one side, "Is that the seaweed stuff that you were talking about eating, Nes? Or some other sort of sea grass?" Did she really want to eat something that the fish lived in? She just didn't like the idea, especially since it seemed so slimy when it washed up on shore. Still, she had to admit she was curious. As such she followed after Neska, motioning to her sister, "Come on, JoJo! Let's get a peek at the..." She trailed off when Neska sudden gave a squeak, "Eh? What is it?!"
It was then she noticed the crab, something that made her go wide eyed before she went racing after it, "Come back, crab!" She called out, as though if she demanded it to come back to her that it would. All that it did though was made the thing speed up, running straight into the water where Zahra couldn't follow as easily.

Once again, Joweese nodded. They were right again, there was no sense in getting eaten up by a giant fish monster. Instead, chasing after smaller fish and gathering sea grass sounded much safer, and fun! She padded alongside Zahra as they watched Neska wander along the water and ever so slowly slipped into the water herself. What was Neska looking around for? Seaweed couldn't be that hard to find, the ocean brought a ton of it onto the shore every day! Her head gave a tilt, until her sister started running after a crab that Neska had pointed out. Naturally, Joweese joined the chase.
"It's getting away!" She cried, chasing after the crab. Into the water she flailed, her feet getting quickly swallowed up by the sand, and a pout formed on her face. "I don't see it anymore! It got away!"

She giggled: "Not sea weed! Sea grass! Like grass! Its not tasty... but it hides tasty things! Lotsa little shells and small fishes." And spiky things you had to be careful about. And sometimes bigger meaner fish... She frowned as she began to think of the scary stuff that lurked there. Maybe she didn't want to go to the sea grass without momma....
The girls gave chase to the crab, she hoped they catch it! Tiny crab was better than big crab cause they didn't pinch! Neska followed at a much more sedate pace. If these two active girls couldn't get it, she certainly didn't have a chance! She kept her disappointment off her face when it got away. Oh well.
"Its fine... we can go catch tiny fish in the sea grass." Maybe if there were three of them the spiky things wouldn't come out and the bigger fish would stay away.... She waited until they got back to her before walking back towards the sea grass clumps. If she was alone she'd be too tasty! Better to have all three so they seemed bigger than they were...

Zahra followed after the crab until the water reached her waist before she forced herself to stop, knowing she wouldn't be able to find it now. She paced from side to side for a moment, her eyes wide, but she couldn't see it anymore, "Ahhh, darn it... that would have been nice to catch!" Sure it was small but it still would have tasted just as good. Sighing a little she started to back out of the water, still trying to keep an eye out for the crab or any of it's friends, "Doesn't look like we are getting that one. Maybe we will get the next one!"
Turning to look over at Neska she gave a little thoughtful sound before she said, "Well, we can try to get the little fishes." It didn't seem like they were going to have luck with shellfish since they were set up with the right things to catch the good sized ones. Alright, so little fishes it was! Giving a grin she said, "Come on Jojo! We will get all of the little fishes that we can carry!" She was enthusiastic if nothing else.
Of course as she started toward where Neska was standing she found herself tripping over something in the sand, "Ack! Owwie... what was that?" She muttered, turning so that she was sitting in the sand, facing the weird thing that she'd tripped over, "Hey! You shell! That wasn't nice at all to trip me like that!" She said, lifting up her foot to look it over before her attention went back to the shell, giving it another look, "You're lucky my foot is alright!"

Joweese made a face at the direction that crab had gone and huffed. Dumb crab, couldn't have stayed still for just a second? She folded her arms and moved to follow Zahra. Who knew catching something so small would be so difficult? Maybe they needed a net? Where would they get a net? She paused, pondering all the places they could check, and only snapped from her thoughts when her sister fell over.
"Zahra!" She cried, kneeling next to Zahra. "Are you alright? Did the shell hurt you?"
Her eyes darted towards where Zahra was looking and widened. Whoooa, that shell was pretty! Tiny hands moved to scoop the shell up and inspect it, before catching onto something bigger.
"Oooh, Neska, Zahra! This whole is FULL OF SUPER PRETTY SHELLS!" She exclaimed, digging her hands down into the hole. "I've never seen so many before!"

Neska turned back at the cry. Was she okay? Trotting over, a worried expression on her face, Neska looked at teh foot and saw no blood... And the other wasn't crying so perhaps she was okay? Still, Neska patted Zahra on the head and asked; "You okay?"
Only then did she turn to see the treasure Jojo was holding up. Pretty shells! Like the what aunt Denker made jewelry from! Small round ones with interesting different colored dots, some spiky ones, all sorts of different colors! They were in a small sand filled hole; perhaps the tide had dropped them there.
"Ohhhhhh... Zahra, look what your foot discovered!" She said with a giggle as she reached down to grab a few as well.

"Yeah, I think so. The sand is nice and soft and warm." She explainedto both of the other girls, glad that it was a nice cushy landing. Tripping like that when she was up in the trees of Jauhar wouldn't have turned out so well. She was lucky though, here she had a lot of nice padding that was able to catch her and keep her from getting scuffed up too badly. Sure, she felt a little silly falling like that over something that wasn't even moving, but at least she had discovered something special it would seem?
She moved so that she was on her knees in front of the hole that her sister was digging out, her eyes going a bit wide as she dig up shell after beautiful shell, not what she was expecting at all when she was scolding the shell that had tripped her, "I... huh, seems like I am amazing even when I am not meaning to be!" She said, laughing a bit before she picked up a couple of the shells, looking them over, "How weird... how do you think that they got here?" It seemed strange that this many shells would end up in one place like this.
After a moment of thought she asked, "Do you think it's alright for us to take some of them? I mean it IS a lot of shells." She wasn't sure if it was a collection that belonged to someone else surely this fell under the the 'finders-keepers' rule didn't it?

Before Zahra could question the morality of taking the shells, Joweese was already placing several of them aside for herself. They were so pretty, she just couldn't resist! She liked the pink shells the best, they reminded her of crystals with the way they shined in the sun. There were also some blue ones and purple ones... And ones she'd seen her grandmother wearing at big special events!
"Oooh, look at these!" She chirped, pointing at some round, cream colored shells. "Our grandma wore these at a party and gave some to our mama! I forget what the party was about, but everyone was really happy about something." She turned to Zahra and waved a few of the shells around. "Remember? Was it someone's birthday? I forget..."
Then, she turned to Neska and handed her one of the shells from her pile.
"I think that shell would look pretty as a necklace!" She said. "I want you to have it, Neska!"
